We are in the area on vacation and donuts are always something fun to try with the family. We didn't realize how huge they were when ordering this many but they were still good two days later. We placed a pick up order and the donuts were hot and fresh. They are pretty much like croissant donuts and not dough like your typical donuts which I think make it that much better. Even if you don't like the toppings, you can buy a plain. While we didn't get it, based on the insides of these I would think it was equally as good. I would say it's a nice treat and worth trying. Full disclosure is that we visited the donut food truck while it was in Seaside so I don't know what brick & mortar it is attached to. Now for the donuts. They got the 5 stars. These are the cronut style and most of the varieties are the same donut with different tops. A few have fillings but my husband had one with Filling and he thought the donut was so good on its own it was almost unnecessary. They remind me of a fritter that's not glazed with the soft light inside and a crunchy crust outside. As I am a big fan of the fritter this is a big compliment. Lots of choices in icings/toppings. They also serve gluten free and Keto. They are extremely careful in handling these. Gloves. Separate prep area. Really appreciate that kind of attention to this. This little shop was so unsuspecting to me. My favorite thing in the world is a really well made croissant, and these donuts were like the most crusty, flaky, moist croissants I've ever had but with that extra fried outside to give that extra layer of *crunch*. I have written to the corporate office it is so bad. I arrived at this location when I open it was like 7:30 in the morning and they were out of almost all their donuts. The staff doesn't crack a smile they are rude. When they have donuts, they're actually pretty good but this is the third time I've come and out of, I don't know, a dozen or so flavors. They only have like six and again this is first thing in the morning when they open. The employees have music blasting. So loud that they keep asking you to repeat yourself because they can't hear you. Corporate makes it impossible to find a way to get in touch with anybody, but I did manage to find a gentleman who's in charge of franchising. He basically responded with a lengthy. We love parlor donuts! They are more like cronuts and are always delicious. The cookies and crème is one of our favorites along with the glazed with sprinkles. Get there early! Sometimes they sell out. If it's a busy time at the beach, expect a line. We went by twice on our trip and the line was out the door and down the sidewalk. Many years ago Dominique Ansel drove New York crazy with his invention of the cronut, a half donut half croissant. Here at Parlor they take the sophisticated creation and improve on it for the masses. This huge donut may be the best in the country. I went in when the rest of my friends were skeptical but when I came out and shared my bounty they all went in to get their own. These are the best damn donuts I ever had and I am a donut fanatic.
