Very rich, but delicious! We tried a box of 4 to test out a few flavors and the top two were Sandy Beach which tastes like a cinnamon roll, and the other was the Blueberry Hill. We tried a gluten friendly donut with blueberry glaze and unfortunately the texture was way too dense, and flavor had a strong almond quality to it. Tried a bag of minis and they were good but a little greasy. So, full size is the way to go and we will definitely be going back to try out more flavors. Went to the newest location in Jacksonville, FL (Fruit Cove) yesterday. My daughter suggested it because she works nearby. What a pleasant surprise! It was bright and modern and had outdoor seating as well. The large cro-nut type pastries were incredible. So fresh. The different toppings were unusual and drool worthy. I had the Maple/Pecan one. It was SO good. A bit messy, but worth it. I have two suggestions...have small paper plates available (we ate out of the cute box) and offer the coffees in various sizes. They are only one size now. AND, while we were there, a young mom was sitting with her little son. She sweetly cut a small piece off his donut to make it easier for him to eat. The stinker ignored the little bite and grabbed the big part! He knew what he was doing! You'll enjoy them too! read more

Long Distance Mini Review: Parlor Doughnuts (Miramar Beach, Fl) So after a fail of trying to eat breakfast, I saw this doughnut sanctuary. I remembered that we will be getting one soon in Pensacola, so I had to stop and see what it's all about. Let's just hope the happy hype I've heard so far is true? This is a small quaint doughnut parlor with some of the most amazing classical selection of flavors and also some flavors that are pure genius. It was so hard to decide which one I wanted, but my other half opted out due to his extreme tree nut allergy. I decided to go with the strawberry shortcake, just in case he had to try a bite. Omgosh, I literally stuck the doughnut in his face and made him take a bite even with the risk of his allergies in play. This is literally the best croissant, best doughnut, I have ever had in my life. The outer shell is a wonderful crispy goodness with a super soft croissant center. But let's not forget this amazing strawberry glaze, which is not too sweet, but packs a punch of succulent strawberries. Overall Review: 100% amazing and the best doughnuts ever!!! I will be waiting impatiently for this doughnut parlor to open in Pensacola. You might even want to take a drive out to one of their locations that are already opened in Fort Walton Beach or Miramar Beach. Not worth it at all. Just go to another doughnut shop or get an ACTUAL breakfast meal. My girl friends and I waited in line for forever even after ordering online hoping that they'll have our orders made. None of the staff knew what was going on. Kitchen staff were laughing and goofing around. They had our order in the system but they just let our receipt just sit there. It lead the customers that didn't have an online order get bothered towards for asking if ours was ready. There's only 1 person at the front. But 2 staff in the back that we saw. One of their friends who isn't even an employee came to the back and grabbed his own doughnut. Coffee was sh**. Mind you it wasn't even busy. Awful staff experience with some mediocre doughnuts. I am convinced however they just don't do the dog donuts anymore. So don't go expecting to get them. They said they'd be willing to make any doughnut if they were out, but when I asked to purchase a dog donut for my pups, they said no. The Mayan mocha was great and both doughnuts were awesome!! I will say that the flavors they have are certainly unique, varied and tasty...some with cute names, but that's pretty much it. The entire donut selection is pretty expensive given what you're actually getting, and the coffee they serve is actually pretty bad. And you're standing in line for 20+ minutes I suppose all that means very little if you're on a beach vacation in the Destin area, but as a local I don't think I'll be going back. read more
