He made my dining experience even better. I went to have brunch with a friend and absolutely enjoyed the large well lit dining area with a quiet ambiance due to the time of our arrival. I ordered the salmon salad with a side of fries. The salmon was cooked and seasoned to perfection. No need to add salt nor pepper to the meal. The fries were just the right temperature to enjoy them as soon as the plate hit the table. Once set up, Colby stayed not too close and not too far to serve use if we needed something else. Nicholas, our server was AMAZING!!!! When asked what he recommended, he was able to identify several items on the menu and explain why they were good. I had the brisket scrambled egg tacos, which I will say were out of this world! Rich with flavor they were very filling and hit the spot. Good job Nicholas recommending that! My friend had the eggs Benedict, which looked great but what impressed me the most were the grits. Though I did not have them they were nice and thick (should have had those so need to come back for BOTH Nicholas & the food). All new restaurants have their growing pains, but The toasted Yolk staff was kind and communicative and we were happy to be patient. My parents both got egg breakfasts and my mom had some of the best cheese grits I'd had. My teen got a HUGE chicken sandwich with fries and he was super happy with it. I got the BLT which was loaded with extra crispy bacon and fresh lettuce and tomato. The sweet potato fries on the side were also yummy and perfectly seasoned. Our Red Hat chapter went to The Toasted Yolk for our January 2025 "kick-off" brunch. It was certainly a bustling place! Yet, the management had tables all set for us (several oblong ones pushed together). We appreciated that! Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and there is a huge variety on the menu, which made everyone happy. Our waitperson Richmond was kept busy but he still checked back with us about getting more drinks, etc. He did a very nice job with a quiet but pleasant attitude. The decor is cute and I took a couple of photos. You could also buy some of the condiments, I believe. I recommend getting there before 11:30 if you're interested in Brunch or Lunch. This is when things start to go sideways as far as the food to price and value. Still serving baby English Muffins at nearly $5-$7 more than Grumpy's or Metro Diner in Orange Park who serve full size English Muffins with a normal slice of Canadian Bacon and a full size of hash brown potatoes instea of a 2inx2in square of cold mush potato casserole! Next try serving food all together and hot. Don't take advantage of folks just because you are the only breakfast in Fleming Island! I had heard about this new franchise in town for breakfast, so when I was making plans with friends, I recommended it since it was near them. We visited around 9 am on a Wednesday. The parking lot had a lot of cars in it, but it wasn't super crowded when I first walked in. After we left there was more of a crowd for lunch/brunch. I was greeted immediately when I walked in and was able to get a table to wait for my friends. Our waitress was friendly and asked if I wanted anything to drink. I went with coffee, which came out in a nice big thick mug. I only wish that I had more coffee than the one cup during my visit. My friends arrived and we looked over the menus. Our waitress was patient with us, as we caught up and took our time to order. I chose the two eggs, biscuit, and sausage patties, and everyone else did a variation of the same order. Our food came out quickly, but I did notice that instead of the biscuit they gave me the sourdough bread like my one friend ordered. The food tasted good, but it wasn't fancy or too much. Our waitress brought the check out but didn't split the meal between our two parties. For three people it was around $51 for food and drinks. Our first visit to this new café in Fleming Island. It was crowded when we arrived and we waited about 10 minutes for seating but opted to sit at the bar and got seated immediately. The servings were large, and the food was good. The menu has quite a few options to choose from so everybody will find something that they want. They serve breakfast and lunch. They also have a bar so that you can order Mimosas and Bloody Mary's and things of the sort. Very tasty. We did indulge in the Bloody Mary's... picture included. it is located in the strip mall so you can park right in front as long as there's a space available. It is an open concept restaurant so there can be a little noise. They have just a few booths but mostly table seating. Four stars because I think it could definitely improve on the decor and ambience. It was noisy and not inviting. I felt like you go there to eat and get out.
