We had been here before, so we came back expecting another good experience. We chose Parowan Cafe to celebrate our 7-year-old's birthday because she was excited to have a special birthday breakfast. When we asked our waitress if they did anything for birthdays, she seemed dismissive and irritated, responding, "We don't do things for birthdays, sorry." I understand that not every restaurant offers birthday desserts or freebies, but what was disappointing was that there was no effort to acknowledge the birthday or even speak to my daughter. A simple "Happy Birthday" would have meant a lot. Unfortunately, the service continued to be disappointing. It took quite a while to place our order, we were never asked if we needed anything else or wanted refills, and when we were ready to leave, we tried multiple times to get our waitress's attention for to-go boxes and the check. She ignored us, and we eventually had to flag down another server for assistance. This experience left us feeling overlooked, especially on what was supposed to be a special morning for our daughter. We weren't expecting anything extravagant--even a little whipped cream on her pancakes and a sincere "Happy Birthday" would have made her feel celebrated. The so-called "best cinnamon rolls" were truly awful. I've seen the I-15 billboard many times, and finally decided (having a bit of extra time on this particular drive) to try them out. This is as "small town café" as it gets! The country cooking and décor have me watching into the kitchen to see if someone's grandma is back there whisking up her favorite recipes to share with her guests. But she's not, it's a young man who's managing the kitchen by solo while a young lady handles front of the house tasks. It's a small team, and they are getting it done! The food was just as good as I expected it to be. Piping hot and the antithesis of diet food, I enjoy my chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy. The peas were a little cold in the middle, but who needs peas anyway? That roll is surprisingly tall, and I can only finish the top of it. I'm excited to return to try breakfast. For a place that's in the middle of the road, the taste of the food is also middle of the road. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and hashbrowns. And none of it had any flavoring, seasoning or spices. 100% bland. The bacon was also overcooked, like tiny shards of glass. So I went in to the Parowan Cafe and they were selling raffle tickets for a rifle to raise money for something-or-other good cause. This is my kind of place. The service was quick and friendly, the food was tasty, and the locals were eager to chat. Great little cafe' to stop in for some friendly service and comfort food. This cafe' sits in Parowan which is at the bottom of the ski resort known as Brianhead. We have ate here a couple of times during ski season and we stopped in on our way home recently from a trip. We wanted to try their cinnamon roll. There are two options, one with raisins and one without. I went with the one without raisins. They wrapped it up nicely and added a lot of cream cheese frosting. Once we got home, I tried it and the roll itself was light, fluffy and tasty. The only issues I had was too much frosting. Next time, I will ask for the roll with no frosting. A great priced stop for lunch with the small town home cooked charm you'd expect. As far as "best cinnamon rolls" I'd disagree but the salad and dinner roll were well worth the stop, especially for $7! My husband got the special and enjoyed everything from the soup to the crispy fries. I would eat here again but skip the $3.50 cinnamon roll and spend that on the full salad. read more

Well we made it back... Coming from Vegas we just had to stop for the cinnamon rolls again (not the last ones but the time before that.... The last ones sucked) and in my Hubble opinion honestly the freshest breakfast this side of salt lake. The waitress....She and a taller lady was working their asses off with every table full of customers. The tall one I believe she was here last time and Our waitress doesn't even work here. Just came back to help on a shift.... But I digress: Ok review eggs was good, I would even say it's the freshest eggs I've ever had. I think mine was supposed to come with pancakes but they never appeared. It's ok. Didn't need them calories. Bacon extra extra crispy.... ( as in burn them). PERFECT!!!! French toast.... Delicious Food! This is what a small town cafe should be like! I had to pull off the freeway when I saw the sign for the best cinnamon rolls in the West. About a mile off the freeway and we found this little gem! The cinnamon rolls were on the small side but very good! Biscuits and hot gravy was great too! The overall charm is what I really liked. We stop here fairly often when traveling and have always had good results. The food was pretty good this time but service left a lot to be desired. Only two servers working about 3/4 full restaurant, most were about done as it cleared out shortly thereafter. It took about six or seven minutes to take our drink order, then at least ten more to get them. She offered sweet tea when I asked for iced tea- and I said yes but no lemon. I took a sip when it finally came and Surprise! It was raspberry tea. Sorry but not my cup of tea and she added lemon. Should have told me it was raspberry. She brought my wife's soup, sandwich later. She returned a couple times to verify something, the last time she asked my wife if she wanted cheese on her sandwich, answer was no. Of course it arrived with cheese- and another cup of soup spilled all over the plate. The server then told us she was new, but she ought to at least listen to what we ordered. When paying I mentioned that everyone is new initially but she should listen closer for happier customers. I did tip her (about 40% cuz she was new). Maybe I'm too picky or this was a one-off but we'll go elsewhere next week passing through. read more

Parowan Cafe is a cute little diner that seems to fit a maximum of 50 people. Traveling from Brian Head back to Salt Lake City, we made a pit stop for lunch. My group of 5 were seated in a booth with a chair in the hallway. I felt like I was in people's way, to go to the kitchen and bathroom, but I really didn't have a choice. Staff members are extremely sweet and helpful. They made us feel very welcomed and treated us like family. There's a lot of food that comes with each meal. So much food that we couldn't fit them all on the table. The pancakes are really fluffy and HUGE! I love that they warm their syrup here which makes the pancakes taste even better! I ordered the avocado Swiss burger, but switched Swiss cheese for pepper jack with s side salad. I forgot to order the salad with the thousand island dressing on the side so it was drowned in it. My fault and I didn't ask for a replacement. I still ate all of it! Now the burger came out as sliced bread. I was expecting a bun, but this worked out since they buttered the bread and grilled it like grilled cheese! Mmm! The best part about it was the bread stayed crunchy even after eating the first half. Sorry I couldn't take pictures of the other plates. Everyone began digging in their food and it wasn't pretty anymore. I'd come back if I'm ever in town again. We went here one night after skiing in Brian Head. They serve breakfast all day and we were so excited. We got the omelette, French toast, pancakes, chicken wrap and a burger. All were excellent and you can't beat the prices! A great meal after a day on the slopes. We would definitely go back and recommend to others. read more

The biggest plus for the Parowan Cafe is that it's open on Sundays when everything else in Utah seems to be closed! The food is standard diner breakfasts and Iunches but not as expensive as you would find in a larger city. Ordering off the Lighter Side section of the menu meant three slices of bacon one scrambled egg and a handful of hash browns for 575. This is a diner through and through down to the missing counter stool and cracked vinyl booths. It has its local hometown charm for sure. The Waitresses are super friendly if not attentive. I would have given four stars if not for these two issues- My water glass was never refilled and by the time my bacon was actually cooked, the rest of my food was cold. I could have sent it back but I wanted to get back on the road. I had waited long enough just for the bacon. The walk to the bathroom in the back is kind of Scream 3 scary with some sort of industrial machine sound droning above you. Came in for breakfast at 8:30 on a Thursday and it was already popping. Service was fast and courteous and the food was amazing! I got my basic breakfast, French toast, eggs, and bacon, and was very impressed with the flavor. My boyfriend got the breakfast wrap which was also bursting with flavor. In a town population of only 28,000 Parowan Cafe is a decent place to stop into if you want to avoid fast food chains when traveling. You definitely can see the age of this place and it looks like it's right out of a western movie with the old stools at the counter and antique decor. On our way from Vegas to Zion we stopped by this cafe. Our first thoughts were "wow this town is adorable and we really need some food" which quickly followed by us walking in to a waitress with a warm & friendly welcome and two great cups of coffee. While coming home to LV from Brian Head UT we stopped for breakfast in Parowon at this cafe. It was a step into my past when as kids we would visit our Grandparents who lived in small towns in KS and OK. Cafes just like this were located on Main Street next to the florist and hardware store. This is one of those cafes. Suzie was our server and our coffee cups never dipped below three fingers. The food was just as you'd expect, fresh with large portions. Nothing fancy here fokes, just good food served by friendly employees. The cinnamon rolls are made fresh every morning but sell out by lunch most days so get there early so you don't miss them. This breakfast was the highlight of my trip and brought back memories from a happy, simpler way of life. I will drop in whenever I have the chance to be in the area. My wife and I were discriminated from this establishment. We arrived the waitress rudely asked "what are you here for?". We responded that we wanted to place an order. The waitress did not respond back and she ignored us. Moments later a group of three caucasian males arrived and she assisted them to gave them a seat. My wife and I continued to wait for about 5 mins and still we were not provided with service. The waitress continued to ignore us and not acknowledge us. This is a precious business. From the front, you know this is somewhere you have been before (if you are old enough). This is a slice of the past, when people worked their stores and served their customers and resided as a community. Service was gracious and appreciative. Likewise, we appreciated the wonderful food.
