The fourth star is partly owing to the fact that this place is open on Sunday. You cannot count on that when you are road tripping through Utah. It can make or break your day and thus merits extra points. We were in at an odd hour, so the place was pretty much empty. We sat at the counter. Great, friendly service; a real local hangout, our waitress made cheerful small talk with us and knew everyone that came in after, some of whom just for a chat and coffee. The menu offers standard diner fare: including omelettes of all varieties for breakfast, burgers and sandwiches, and larger dinner plates with soup (homemade) and salad included. My companion had a club sandwich that was on par. I wanted to try the Mexican omelette, but I can rarely resist the call of a patty melt on the open road. My Pmelt was a tad on the greasy side, but the onions were sweet and plentiful and the griddle that cooked it was well seasoned. The fries were the battered shoestring variety. One of my personal favorites. All in all a good spot to stop for a road lunch. This is especially if you, like me, are eager to avoid standard freeway-adjacent fast food. The cafe is removed from the interstate far enough to take your mind off its interminable monotony. This is the type of place I try to seek out, and of which there seem to be a dwindling few. Plus I got to enter a raffle for a 30-06 rifle offered up by the Parowan gun and rod club. Fingers crossed. If you find yourself in Parowan, do check it out. Parowan cafe is my favorite place to stop for breakfast! Good homestyle cooking, the usuals at the counter and heart felt friendly employees! My kids are always greeted with a smile and given crayons and a coloring book. Anytime people are willing to make life with toddlers easier, they get an A+ in my book! The western omelette is my favorite and i love that i can swap out the toast for a cute bear pancake for my toddler at no extra cost! OK, we've been to Parowan many times in the past as my brother-in-law lives there. We normally stay with him and we fix breakfast, but this time we decided to try the Parowan Cafe. Seriously great food, very affordable prices and let's talk about the friendly waitresses!! We ate there back-to-back mornings and had a different waitress each day. Both were extremely welcoming, very perky and you could tell, absolutely loved their job! There was no wait (we like to eat early), coffee was brought immediately and the food followed shortly after. Between the oatmeal, fluffy pancakes, omelettes, bacon & eggs and even the french toast and bacon, the food was absolutely wonderful. Now we know where WE'LL eat each time we're in town! Let me begin by stating my whole intent was to disprove a 1-star rating that outlandishly stated it took a party nearly an hour to receive their food. Unfortunately what my experiment (timing each aspect of the experience) ended up doing was affirming that outrageous assumption. My party and I of non-locals, just coming down from a weekend at the resort, we're looking for a quaint breakfast prior to heading home. We entered and were under the impression we were to seat ourselves. We were then greeted 2 minutes after sitting down and our server took our drink orders. Following the delivery of our drink orders 4 minutes later, our server then proceeded to take our food orders. Once the food orders were taken we were at a measly 12 minutes, so I figured that previous review was totally inaccurate. This is where I was wrong. My party and I visually saw 2 parties that entered this establishment after us not only get served before us, but finish their meals prior to us receiving any food. We sat in awe is it took just under 51 minutes for all of our food to be delivered, but only 2 minutes after the last of the food was dropped off for the checks to be delivered. We were in the diner (on a not busy late morning/early afternoon) for over an hour before the food was received and what should have taken no more than 45 minutes in and out ended up being a 1 hour and 20 minute experience Start-Finish. The food was fine, but the time it took to receive is simply Unacceptable. I guess don't look like you are from out of town in order to receive service. read more

I ordered the Western Omelet with bacon and it was delicious. The hash browns were kind of mushy but the toast was really good. My boyfriend got chocolate chip pancakes and loved them. Our server, however, wasn't the greatest. Very standoffish and made it seem like everything we would ask for was a chore and she didn't even give us her name. Stopped by late one night driving through. Even though it was a few minutes before they closed they happily let us in. Visiting from Southern California and went on Yelp to find a good restaurant. We read the reviews and rolled the dice on the Parowan Cafe; we were not disappointed. We went in on a Monday evening expecting the place to be dead . . . . it was slammed. The one server was running at full tilt and she did a yeoman's job. Though the food was--across the board--great, the 10" pancakes deserve special mention; one of my daughters had pancakes for dinner and it was one of the best tasting flap jacks we have ever had. Our food was horrible. My wife ordered oatmeal and sent it back and then passed on breakfast. It was just like glue. We were not charged for it. I ordered a meat lovers omelet that was just as bad but I gagged it down. The omelet was a slab of egg cooked on the grill then piled with old, hard bacon pieces, dry, hard ham pieces and I think there were was some sausage pieces there as well. It also had some fried potatoes and two pancakes. Those were ok. We were discussing while we were there that we could not believe they served food that bad with a straight face. Maybe it was just a bad day for them and they were including day old meat in the omelets but it was some of the worst we've had. read more

Its a simple place but the staff is always friendly, the coffee always hot, the homemade bread always delicious, and the liver and onions always cooked right. I would give it 3.5 stars. There isn't much in the area. The chicken fried steak was pretty good but be prepared for lots of gravy on everything. The mashed potatoes were kind of cold. My wife ordered a ribeye medium because they were out of the sirloin but it came out closer to well done. The flavor was lackluster too. The ambience is a local diner feel. We stopped here based on a recommendation from a local. I ordered the veggie omelet with a side of bacon. The omelet arrived scorched inside and out. Inside of the omelet were chopped tomatoes and avocado with 2 slices of unmelted Swiss cheese. The extra crispy hash browns were quite the sight!? They were mushy and didn't have the appearance or texture of hash browns. The side of bacon was limp! Now how can you possibly ruin an over easy egg that my husband ordered! Do NOT go for Sunday morning breakfast! Second time I waited about an hour to be served food. Waitress was terrible. Had to flag them down for more coffee. The girl that checked me out didn't ask how anything was .... guessing she knew I wouldn't have anything nice to say. My second time in the last six months I went for a Sunday morning breakfast and my last. I would rather drive to Cedar to the American Diner than sit and wait in the Cafe and witness their dysfunction! Why they won't hire more help for the Sunday breakfast is beyond me!! I finally just turned my coffee cup over. To top it off my girlfriend's omelet was cold, but she didn't complain, cuz that's the person she is. Compared to years ago, the Cafe sucks now!! Parowan, Utah. Who's heard of it? Not me. Well, when we moved here, after arriving, we thought, 'HUNGRY!' We found along the road the mini Parowan Cafe. We walk in and see it's very cramped. After waiting almost 45 minutes, the food comes with a bossy waiter and a mean one at that. It's a good LAYOUT, I'd say, but man, the food has seen better days when it wasn't recycled. I mean, the pickles are WEAK, the tomatoes are pale yellow, and the fries...don't get me started on the fries. Overpriced. VERY! It's too much for a small grilled cheese sandwich and fries. This is probably the best place for breakfast in town. I've eaten here three times so far, breakfast twice and dinner once. I think the Western omelette is the best I have ever had. The steak and mushroom omelette is made with sliced roast beef that is over cooked to the point of resembling beef jerky, don't bother with this omelette. The breakfast are huge, my husband and I are able to split a meal and there is plenty for both of us. My husband and I had dinner here tonight and was very disappointed. We ordered roast beef and mashed potatoes which was served lukewarm, the roast beef was thin sliced beef (the same meat used in the omelette) which was just as tough and dry. The gravy tasted like Heinz jar gravy, also not hot. The meal came with a salad but not as described on the menu, it was one piece of spinach, chopped tomatoes, very thin slice of onion and chopped iceberg lettuce. It was also served with some canned green peas, bread stuffing, and a very dense yeast roll. We asked for I food to be reheated and it came back without any improvement. My advice definitely try the breakfast just stay away from anything with roast beef or steak. read more
