So glad i chose this place for dinner with my friends and her cousin visiting from Boise, ID. It was our first time here. (btw they will start having Sunday Brunch begining April 19th - already booked, make your rsvps now!!) Dinner rsvps was at 7:30pm... we were 5mins late... not a big deal. Unfortunately they still had me down for 3 when we checked in. - its ok since my friend wasn't going to arrive until 8:15ish. The female that took us to the table was very nice. As we enter the restaurant, our mouths dropped! It's so pretty inside like Alice in wonderland. With the grassed walls, lit trees, mushroom looking white lamp, etc. We were then greeted by our friendly waitress - Moseley (sp), Mossey, darn I forgot her name it's very unique. She was super sweet, helpful, friendly, pretty, everything! She was very patient with is, considering it was our first time and we were still in awe of the place. Any ways get to the point. We ordered scallops, salmon, lobster roll, clams and the 24hr steak. OMG to die for!!!! Everything was delicious! #NotSharing Seriously the chef does not play around. I suck at describing the taste of the dish, but whatever ha! Everything was very tasty and perfectly made. The steak was so soft and tender, my scallops mmmm mmm good. You're missing out! We were still eating our main dish at 8:30, would have been done maybe 8:45 - would have ordered another round of drinks +desserts - that would have arrived around 9:10ish - time to eat the dessert and finish drinks maybe around 9:30ish-9:45ish. - then off to PARQ Night Club. If you were giving us a time frame because my friend arrived late you're B!TCH for that type of service. Anyways, since our waitress was super nice and friendly ... we managed to order another dish, dessert and get done by 9:15 just for her cz she was sweet and nice, and we understand it was our fault too. Loved the restaurant! Great prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes and charred maybe barbecued flavor broccoli absolutely devine. The steak was tender and flavorful, I didn't even need A 1 sauce. Plus when you spend 25$ or more you get free entrance into the club. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was the prices of my chardonnay were 15$ a glass, which is very expensive, other places it's usually 6$ and the music inside the club was more EDM, House, Techno, type of music not really my style. But the club is very Vegas something San Diego needs more of. Acrobats every where. And decorations galore. Overall nice experience. read more

All my friends were complaining of the awful heat and we were all so sticky! As for the food, we had the charcuterie plate, burger, lamb chops and short rib and lobster roll, seared tuna and salmon. Everything was pretty good. I particularly enjoyed the lamb-- A definite must have. However, it was hard to enjoy the food when it was a hot and humid summer night. This space is absolutely gorgeous, has a NYC vibe (but bigger than most NYC places), mood lighting, and these amazing 'trees' with cherry blossom flower lights. Our server was AJ, he was super nice and attentive. For drinks, I got the FallFashion, their version of an old fashion, I asked for light brown sugar because I don't like drinks that sweet, and it was perfect! My friend got their specialty cocktail that is a Cosmo and she was happy. They also let you bring your own wine, I believe the corkage is $20 but I'm not positive. Then to top it off, they gave us complimentary champagne for my friends bday, which was actually good quality! (No barefoot up in here) We sampled quite a bit of food, shared family style (my favorite way!) Brussels sprouts were my favorite app! The tuna was good also, nice seasoning. The house made mozzarella was delicious too. I didn't try the bone marrow (I'm adventurous but some things I just can't) but my friend said it was good. For entrées the lamb was by far the best! A little tap with my fork and it fell off the bone, the sauce was a perfect compliment. The duck came in a close second as my fav, perfectly cooked. The fried chicken was good as well. The only thing I did not like was the salmon. My friend and I agreed that it tasted too much like the ocean, I don't recommend it. Had a great time celebrating my friend's birthday on opening day. Thanks to Kevin and Lashanda was able to reserve a table for our large group last minute and make sure we were taken care off. This place is beautiful!! Love the decor and everyone is friendly. Wait staff were very attentive and our glasses were never empty for too long. We started with a few cocktails (Walk in the Parq and Parq Etiquette) were delicious. We were able to try most of the dishes since we had a big group. Must try the Crispy Bass, Duck, and New York. I came here for half off dinner at the FRED 1 Year Anniversary event that Parq hosted. I kinda decided on doing dinner here last minute, but we were able to snag seats at the bar after waiting about 20 minutes. Initially the hostess told us that there were free seats at the bar right away, but that wasn't the case. It was kind of awkward because the bar only has 4 seats and its first-come-first-served, so we just stood around waiting for people to leave. There were a couple open tables that a server tried to ask the hostess about, but she wouldn't give us the tables and they stayed empty the whole time we were there. I know it was our fault for not making a reservation, but it didn't seem like the hostess knew what she was doing. In general I think there is a lack of communication between the staff, because the bartender was kinda clueless as well. Don't get me wrong, she was really nice, but had no idea that there was an event going on and had to ask multiple people about the details of the special event pricing. And we talked to her as well as two different servers before ordering, only to discover 15 minutes later that the steak we ordered was the only thing excluded from the menu. We then switched to scallops which thankfully, came out quickly. Although we ordered the belly toast when we put in our first order, it didn't come out until after we had already finished our entrees... The food itself was pretty good. The scallops were cooked perfectly but the portion sizes were tinyyy. I would have been furious paying the full price of $30 for 3 golf ball sized scallops with a side of corn. The belly toast was tasty, but not too special or memorable so I would skip it. Parq is definiely a better nightclub than it is a restaurant. Although the decorations and ambience are perfect for big celebrations, the service and pricing leaves much to be desired. If you're going to shell out the big bucks for a nice dinner, I would recommend going elsewhere. read more

We had a big group and booked in advance. Everyone was super friendly. My Pear Menage cocktail was very yummy. My fiance and I ordered the steak tartar, warm burrata caprese, the burger and the chicken and waffles. The steak tartar and caprese were both very good. the burger and the chicken/waffles were just meh. Nothing really special at all. And if you don't eat the burger hot, it tasted not so good at all. The first bite of the chicken and waffles was good, but that's about it. I didn't want to eat it after the first few bites. Really nothing special with the food. FYI, not sure if they did this since we had a party of 12 and wanted to go to the club after, but we were able to get free entry and no waiting in line as long as each of us ordered a minimum of $25 on food. Not too bad of a deal. Also, if you have a big group, try and request to not get a "U" shaped booth table. We dined at the restaurant and went to the club on Halloween. I had a great experience for both. The staff is extremely attentive and personable/ helpful. The food was so good we had the pork belly. The club on a Halloween was epic. We got there early based on advice and we were very glad we did because the lines were outrageous as the night grew longer. The club ambience was unreal. Very spacious with high ceilings and lit walls with amazing effects. The DJs were great and played a mix of hip hop and EDM. There is a ladies lounge that is great in the bathroom. The walls have really cool sexy designs and art. The lobby area is covered in "grass like" walls hence the name Parq. I definitely want to go back. read more

Some of the things we ordered were the seared ahi tuna, lobster roll, mussel frites, brussel sprouts , and the burger. My favorite were the mussels and the lobster roll . The lobster roll comes with mini sweet rolls and a generous portion of lobster in a jar. The mussels were cooked in a delicious wine sauce with plenty of garlic , yum! Paid a visit during restaurant week. a 3 course meal for $40, complimentary prosecco during the dessert course. The ambiance is really unique, dreamy, even: green leafy walls with giant lamps masked as heat lamps, and lights on the trees. The venue has super high ceiling that creates the sense of open space. They have booth seats for large parties. They seat large parties when almost the entire group is present (like 1 person missing). Appetizers were lacquered pork belly (on the regular menu) and the ahi aburi. They are both really good. The ahi was seared perfectly with the mixed greens and seasoning. The pork belly is not in a thick form, like the ones you'd find by Carnitas Snack Shack. It's like the ones you'd get from a Korean bbq- long strip bacon-ish form. It is a bit dried for a slow braise, but it wasn't overly greasy at all. Entrees were Toasted Spetzle and Maple Rosemary scented Pork chop, which are both regular menu items. The entrees were above expectations. First, the spetzle was definitely the underdog. I had little expectations for it. On first bite, it tasted like stir fried noodles, because although it's toasted, it has this really savory off-the-wok taste to it. I was completely surprised by its flavors (intense veggie flavors) and texture (toasty and not greasy). A friend from Germany at the table also approved this dish. The pork chop was well cooked - juicy and flavorful without being overly seasoned. The sweet potato mash is white, not orange. The greens were cooked with more salted/savory flavors that really balanced well with the sweetness of the sauce. I appreciated that the rosemary is not directly cooked with the pork chop as I find this herb too overwhelming. Desserts: Long story short - it ended horribly. The presentations were well done. Nothing to complain. The lesson here is: "don't judge a book by its covers", and this is exactly where the desserts went wrong and really disappointed me. The 2 desserts: Luxardo Cheesecake- de-constructed cheesecake and Cake in the Parq: 3 mini cupcakes, were really poor in execution, to the degree that I did not want to finish, and I am one who can't resist desserts. The cheese part of the cheesecake was in a jar. It is on the sweeter side with little cheese flavor and its texture likens a thick yogurt. It has a really sweet cherry sauce over the top. I couldn't have more than a few spoonfuls, due to its runny texture, lack of complex flavors, and sweetness. There were few crumbles with no walnuts found on the side plate over some whipped cream. I've had deconstructed desserts (Spot in NYC/east village) but the flavor and textures in this one were disappointing. The mini cupcakes...I am not a fan of cupcakes, but the cake was dried with no flavor, the top was covered in 3 sauces: dutch chocolate (passable flavor), bergamot vanilla (the best), and acai berry (creamy blu-ish sauce what?). It's not how you start, but it's how you end that matters. If I knew, I'd requested the desserts to come first. :( read more

First let me start by saying the restaurant portion highly compliments the club portion perfectly! WIth that being said you are going to have a romantic ambiance, a menu that is not too much variety, smaller portions and a good time. The service here has always been on-point; from the second you are greeted by the hosts, sit down and leave. I would say the pro's overall for this place; (hence why I keep coming back) is the design of this place. The green wall is amazing, the lit up trees, the seating arrangements and brick is just lovely. I also love the fact that you get to come back to the club with solely a stamp that you receive with your entree. Lastly the service! The servers are all awesome, friendly, make me laugh and they are constantly on que with filling up my water glass. I have to be honest....the food is GOOD, not great...not excellent; just GOOD. I leave satisfied but it is not amazing, which is somewhat of a let down however I can only speak on 5 menu items. The Brussels sprout appetizer is a must try though! The atmosphere in the restaurant is amazing! I was there this past weekend and it was an Alice in Wonderland inspired setup. The girls in the front were super cute and really sweet. The staff that was waiting on us was super attentive and never hesitated to do what we requested. Downstairs the music was blasting, the crowd was buzzing, and the drinks were flowing. After dinner, if you were up for it, there is a lounge/club with a great DJ and music. I'm so sad to be only giving this restaurant 2 stars. The food was mediocre, at best, and we even had to send two dishes back because it didn't smell or look right. The portions weren't that big either, I don't know if it was because we were all hungry but I wasn't satisfied after the dinner. I'm not sure if this was an off day but it didn't seem like the restaurant was too packed for the chefs or sous chefs to underwhelm our tastebuds. We ordered: -Small Plates- Salmon Belly Crispy Brussels Scallops Grilled Octopus Yellowtail Ceviche -Main Courses- Chilean Sea Bass Chicken and Waffles Yellowtail I don't think the food was worth what we paid. When I was searching for a restaurant on Yelp to take my BF for his bday, Parq caught my attention because of the nightclub portion of the establishment that opens after they stop serving dinner. My BF chose it from a handful of choices I gave him for that same exact reason. When we walked in, I liked the Alice in Wonderland themed decor, however as I looked around, I quickly realized that it was too feminine of a place to take a guy for his bday. There were trees in the middle of the room strewn with blue lights, oversized playing cards hanging from the ceiling and from the trees and other quirky things. The dinning area was also on the smaller side. The food: For appetizers, the BF and I both immediately zoomed in on the Salmon Belly (crispy rice, Sriracha aioli, cilantro & scallions). However our excitement for the dish was replaced with disappointment when it was finally in front of us. They served us four small portions with probably only a teaspoon amount of salmon on small, square, crispy rice. The taste was so light that I was left wanting a side of soy sauce or some sort of condiment that would add flavor. It was just not enough protein on there. But we saved our appetites for the entrée and decided against ordering more appetizers. They redeemed themselves with their entrée. I got the Braised short ribs and the BF got the Flat Iron Steak. We both liked our plates and coveted each other's orders and ended up sharing our plates with each other. I had ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio to help celebrate the BF's bday. The waitress presented us with a twist-off bottle, however. For a $30+ bottle, I was hoping for a more classier bottle, at least one with a cork. Upon hearing that it was the BF's bday, they did serve us with a couple of complimentary mixed shots and donuts for his cake which I did appreciate. They also give you a stamp in order for you to come back in for the nightclub for free. This was a nice place but with its theme, I categorize is as one of those one time only places. By far the best restaurant I've tried in San Diego! The service is impeccable, whether you seat at a table or at the bar, the waiters and waitresses are always so nice and know their menu pretty well, they explain it to you perfectly. The food in itself is so tasty! Wow! That's something hard to find around here because you usually get very fancy restaurant with a good presentation, but when it comes to the taste, it's usually not there.. I think I had almost everything on their menu, but my favorite is the lamb! Best lamb ever, cooked perfectly, the meat is very tender! The tartare as an appetizer is also excellent! I usually go there on Wednesday or Saturday night with my boyfriend, which is a good plan since you get free entry to their club if you spend more than $20 on your meal. The restaurant is worthy of being michelin star, but the club wasn't as good though. Their cocktails are also amazing!! I tried the Red Dragon and other fruits cocktails that I can't remember right now, but it was very professionally done! Decoration, taste and everything! I love this place! First I order my burger medium and it came out well done it was dry, bland and disgusting I can get a better burger at Red Robin. Brussel sprouts were gross and over cooked. Scallops portion was tiny and does not fit as a "main course". I ate at restaurants that had 4-5 stars and this restaurant is 2 at best. Drinks were good, creative, tasty and strong. I give this place a solid 2 star. Menu needs to be changed and chef needs to pay better attention when sending the food out. read more

They served bread that pretty good. First batch was hard and cold. There was a pickled cucumber jar that was served at every table. Tried the grilled octopus, Brussels sprouts, pan seared scallops, burger, lamb pasta, and short ribs. Grilled octopus was ok. A little over cooked. Brussels sprouts was very good. Crispy, flavorful, and a good mixture of cheese and bacon. The rest of the entrees were ok. It all just tasted sloppy and overlooked. The only thing I liked was the short ribs. Very moist and paired well with the potatoes. Burger was dry and messy. Lamb pasta was over cooked so the pasta was too smooshy. The scallops were ok, not my favorite. The combinations he has put together will definitely be an experience you'll remember. We had the gnocchi with blue cheese cream that was absolutely to DIE for. Fortunately, there is happy hour until 8 pm so we grabbed a drink before our meal. Our group was big (about 20 people) and the servers were amazing! I had the short rib. The food was decent but wasn't the best I've ever had. However, I still felt the price point was fair considering unique dinning experience. Our servers even brought out free birthday shooters for the entire table to celebrate our birthday boy! I came here a few weeks back for my 21st birthday and the experience was amazing! I found Nihan, my table host for the night, through reviews and she could not have been more amazing. Since it was my 21st and my first time getting a table I had a lot of questions, Nihan was very good at answering all of my questions and she was quick to respond to my texts. The experience inside was great too! Nihan greeted me at the table holding signs spelling out my name, and every time a new bottle came out they had signs as well. She also put a collage of me on the screen behind the DJ! The whole experience was amazing and the customer service was awesome. My sister and I are both getting married 2 months apart so we decided to have a combined bachelorette party. Nihan was our promoter/server and she was amazing! Quick to respond to my txt and she made sure we are all taken care of. We had bottle service and we truly felt VIP from the moment we showed up in line until the end of the night. Even the security in our table is so respectful and so sweet, he made sure the people that show up to my table are my people and kept checking in with me if I need anything. Needed a place to eat before seeing "Wicked" at the Civic Center. My friend did some research and after reading the rave reviews, we both agreed on Parq. We were greeted by the friendliest hostess. Walked in and we were wowed with the decoration and one word came to mind: magical. It felt like we were dining under the stars except they were beautifully lit cherry blossoms. The dishes were great and rich with flavor (we both had the ahi as a starter, brown butter shrimp as our entree, and the mud pie for dessert) it was evident that they took pride in their food when they presented the dishes throughout our three course meal. The service was excellent; the staff was friendly and attentive at all times. My only feedback is the music -- it didn't seem to marry well with the ambience it's going for. In a way it clashed and broke the illusion of being timeless. All in all, I'd definitely come back and recommend this place to my family and friends. read more

I flew down to SD for my birthday weekend and decided to eat here with some of my girlfriends before we went down to Gaslamp. I'm so glad I did!! The decor was GORGEOUS inside. Really - I felt like I was in a fairytale and it definitely gave me some inspiration for my wedding. Appetizers: wonderful! I got the charcuterie plate and finished it so quick. Great start especially with the mint cocktail I got. Dinner: I got the chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies. So good! Good venue, baaaad music. Ugh The group was kicked up 30 minutes earlier than they were promised and the price which was paid for the four hours was incredibly high. It's too bad we couldn't even get the DJ to play a song. And what he did play was unacceptable and not dance music. Hope they can pull it together.
