Came here for an event where the theme was 90's night. This place is a really cool spot that's nice and open as it has two levels. They have comfy chairs near the dance floor to socialize with people if you don't feel like dancing. Really enjoyed the vibe as we had a karaoke night. Bait & Switch. Our bachelorette party was looking for a place to relax and dance. We were approached by a one of their recruiters on the street. they offered Free champagne and a private booth. Once we got in there and had our champagne a server came up and asked who's paying? Once they realized we weren't going to spend a ton of money on over priced alcohol, they actually wanted to move us to another booth so paying customers could have our booth. This place made our anniversary dinner quite memorable. The boyfriend planned a surprise weekend getaway to San Diego ( crazy to believe I've never been ). This wouldn't be our usual place since he usually takes me to a Michelin Star restaurant. I was open to anything and I can see why he chose the place. I loved the beautiful interior. The whole vibe was very laid back and most of the people that were having dinner were mostly groups ( bachelorette, birthday ,etc ). When we arrrived they greeted us happy anniversary and they even gave us a huge booth all to ourselves. I really loved this so much since Hello!? it is our anni and I loved how it was nice and intimate. This really set the bar to our evening and made it very special. The food was good. We ordered brussel sprouts, Rockefeller oysters, tomatillo with pork and and octopus dish. My least favorite was the tomatillo. We also ordered the lobster dish. I really like the cesar salad ! The best part about the whole dinner was when they came to our table and gave us shots ! Wasn't expecting that and I loved the whole ambiance of the place . Tons of fun ! The s'mores Creme brûlée blew me away ! It was so perfect. Everything went so nice together. After dinner we were told there was a nightclub and for some reason we thought it was in the dining area but long and behold there was an actual club in the premises. The club reminded me of Vegas ! I'm so thrilled we went with PARQ. We were in town for my sister's bachelorette and a party of 16 people. I was initially contacting other locations with really bad replies. So we went ahead and continued on with PARQ. Erika was great, we arranged everything by email. I can see why this is a bachelorette location. The menu is prefixed. They have cute bottle service girls come out to each table to a different bridal song with sparklers for dessert. In addition, you get 2 bottles of champagne to enjoy at the club in VIP area with the option to rent out the table for the remainder of the night. She also allows the bride to be to be placed on the stage monitors for the night, so you can email her some pictures. Which is a cute surprise. In terms of food, its prefixed menu $45 without drinks and tax. The food was not amazing but not horrible. I would say the only not super great part of the meal was the Ceasar​ salad as it seemed bland and without dressing. That was the experience of everyone at the table. But everyone enjoyed the steak, fish and main dishes. Overall, it was flawless and I actually think the decor is very cute, very IG worthy. read more

I was lucky enough to attend my company holiday party private event. The restaurant / club were decorated very nicely, based on other reviews and pictures it looked very similar with the lights in the trees, etc. We were able to have a photo booth at the entry, and then the first floor area was great for drinks, appetizers. Cheese and Charcuterie Board: Artisan cheeses, cured meats, pickles, assorted olives, preserves, rustic garlic and herb crostini. We were then ushered upstairs to the dance floor. Very large room with decent size dance floor. Sound system was pretty good, loud but clear, and not distorted. The DJ played some good music, and there were some cool "Out of this World" themed videos playing on the large screens. At one point we also got showered with confetti. The food was pretty good but I didn't take any pictures of it. It consisted of Rosemary Sourdough & Brioche Dinner Rolls with herb butter. Local Tomato Salad - Fresh mozzarella, basil, wild arugula, balsamic and olive oil. Organic Caesar Salad - Rustic crouton, Parmesan cheese, white anchovy dressing. Penne Pasta Salad - Cherry tomato, olive, roasted peppers, basil Roasted and Grilled Local Vegetables with garlic and herb oil. Thyme and Garlic Roasted Chicken Breast served with wild rice with fine herbs and brown butter. 24 Hour Braised Beef Short Rib served with Yukon gold potato puree and crispy onion. This place has such great potential, but was such a disappointment. Came here for my friend's birthday dinner. It was 7pm on a Friday night... and the place was absolutely dead. This was a major red flag right there. Dinner menu was a joke--I've never seen so few entrees offered (see photo). I got the hamburger; it was good but not "$20" good. Service was *extremely* slow. I felt like we were waiting FOREVERRRR for food (which was surprising given there were only ~5 other guests in the entire place). Lastly, the hostess promised me that since we were celebrating a birthday, the birthday girl would get a free dessert. Private event! Apparently they are open to public only on Friday and Saturday night but they are also available for a private event during a week. About 400 of us nerds came here for a private event one night on Tuesday and had a really great time. I had no ideas what to expect prior to my arrival, I was just thinking another networking event. Our group mostly in our 40's and 50's, some in their 60's, our daily reading consist of CFR and FRN. This club was so much fun, I didn't think about work for three hours I was there. Food prepared for us was pretty good, I liked lobster mac and cheese the best. They had vegetarian dishes and some fresh veggies, all kinds of sweets including macaron was available. They have two or three bars at the night club section and one more bar (connected) at their restaurant section and we were able to get our drinks anywhere. Staff was friendly and efficient, they kept tables clean all the time. The way they picked up empty glasses and plates were so professional, they did it so elegantly. DJ played all kinds of songs especially from 80's after he saw the average age of our group. I haven't danced this much in a long time. Last time I danced this much was 9 years ago in Jakarta. I had so much fun dancing over 2 hours here, people came up to me the next day to talk about the previous night. I was so glad staff knew how to entertain all sort of age group. Weekend may be for younger crowds but this private event we had here reminded me we used to be young and still remember how to have fun. Highly recommend for hosting private event here. read more

I'm leaving this review to clear up some things in case you are confused ! Firstly, I gotta say this place is probably one of the most well-designed nightclubs in SD ive been to so far. The restaurant is unfortunately currently not open, and has been converted into a lower lounge/hip hop room, but it's not dark enough for dancing imo. The "park" aesthetics are cool, and I'm a big fan of all the nooks and crannies for lounging and chilling, especially by the bathrooms. Overall the place is very clean and visually interesting! Bartenders pour strong drinks in my experience as well. Upstairs is the dedicated nightclub space, and they have incredible light displays and a small central dance floor in front of where the DJ is. I came looking forward to the hip hop "room", but it took a while to pick up for reasons mentioned above. The major draw is definitely the house/edm upstairs. I would definitely come back for the design style and restaurant. read more

If you can get a friend to video it or even better yet, boomerang it. Do it!!! Bathrooms are a bit tricky. If you eat at the restaurant, you get the use the beautiful bathroom.... See selfie. Or if you happen to VIP, you can use this bathroom throughout the night which is great! If not, you have to use the downstairs bathroom which is far and a pain to get to especially if you're tipsy and in 6 inch heels. It sucks! Such a liability! Come on... You don't want pretty drunk girls eating sh*t all the time!!! That was not well planned, just have the men's restroom down there. The club is roomy. The champagne wall is a nice feature. I'm very conflicted about how many stars to give this place. I came here with my friend for dinner and we were very thrown off because it was a restaurant that was turning into a nightclub, which we were not aware of. Probably our fault. The cocktails were not great, we both sent ours back in exchange for wine. The lettuce wraps and brussles sprouts were good, but nothing crazy flavorful or anything to write home about. The service was awful, we were almost laughing at how bad it was and we almost even left. Maybe everyone was busy getting ready for the switch over to a nightclub or show or something, because it felt like they DID NOT even care we were there. Thankfully, we didn't leave because this bone in steak was the best I have ever, ever had. How can everything else be so bad but then this steak be so above and beyond amazing????? It almost made up for how awful everything else was, just the fact the steak was so flavorful, so melt in your mouth, something I am still dreaming of a year later. Someday I have to go back and endure the bad service, the sub par menu, just to get to have this steak again!!!! It was unbelievable. This place is absolutely cute in so many ways. The interior décor is great and don't forget to take pictures in the bathroom. I literally spent 20 minutes in there taking so many pictures. I came for dinner on a Saturday night and It was happy hour until 8 pm so I tried the flatbread, coconut ceviche, and oysters. Oysters are oysters unless they're not fresh. The flatbread was really good and the coconut ceviche was really good and very different. It's ceviche with coconut milk and the dish is served with taro chips. Overall, the flatbread and ceviche were really good dishes. For drinks I had Alice's Wonderland Cocktail which was very light and refreshing. I attended a work event here and it was a fun experience. I love when there is service with hors d'oeuvres and champagne. The food and alcohol is coming to me! Yaaaassss! The service was exceptional, I just finished one of my hors d'oeuvres and literally a server came over to retrieve my trash and I was like woah. The venue is pretty small but aesthetically pleasing with the greenery at the entrance, lit trees and the bars with icicles. The only downside is the separated seating and different levels. First allow me to thank Yelp guru Brad B. also Erica and the kind people at Parq for hosting this Elite event. Thank you! Becky and I are typically bar sitting, beer drinking, burger/bar bites eating types. I'm a shorts and a t-shirt guy and she's a flip-flop gal, we're laid back and casual so this was quite a departure from our norm. I even wore pants and a button down shirt! Bex and I walked into Parq and were immediately greeted by a lovely young woman who showed us to our table. The dining room is as ultra unique as it is chic. Are we indoors or out? The décor, lighting and overall ambience are outstanding and upscale. Our server Nate was prompt with a drink menu and had answers to any questions we had. Nate is an excellent server. Very friendly and he has a comprehensive knowledge of the menu. He was quick with recommendations and descriptions. We each ordered a St. Archer blonde. Oddly it was not a pint from a tap, the beer arrived in a 12 ounce can which Nate poured into a plastic cup. He explained because they are technically a nightclub they can only serve in plastic (albeit a fancy plastic cup). We started with the Brussels Sprouts and Beef Brisket Toast as our appetizers. Neither Bex nor I like Brussels sprouts, but what the hell, right? Let's do something different. Wow! What a surprise! We both thought they were delicious, perhaps the highlight of the entire meal. A sizeable portion and excellent presentation. The beef brisket toast was fantastic also. Tender brisket with sauerkraut on a rye crisp. Also perfectly presented. Excellent start to a fine meal. Our entrees were no less spectacular. Becky ordered the Scallop, one of her favorite dishes. They were large sea scallops excellently prepared. Pan seared in butter and seasoned to perfection. Absolutely melt-in-your-mouth wonderful. The house made pancetta was the perfect addition. She loved them. I tried one as well and thought is was delicious. I had the Short Rib. It too was fantastic. It was super tender, no knife needed here. The soy sauce based sauce was very flavorful and not too salty. The grilled Asian pears were the perfect compliment to the meat. A very creative mix of flavors. Everything was beautifully plated. This was more edible art than it was food. If you want a delicious, exquisitely presented meal in an intimate setting and don't mind it being on the spendy side, Parq Restaurant is certainly worth considering. read more

She's so reliable and I can always trust her in taking care of me and my friends. The venue has 2 floors and alot of room to move around (unless you're near the stage for performers). I felt like a celebrity or was given a high-class treatment from staff. My boyfriend and I were greeted with lovely smiles, and had been escorted in by a courteous lady, which made me much less anxious for my elegant dinner. Frankly, I'm shy and get quite the anxiety when it comes to eating out. But that didn't seem like the case here when I had seemingly arrived late to my RSVP (got lost looking for this place), because I still received the prompt, quick service by these kind staff members. I generally don't know what to expect when coming to fine-dining restaurants because I don't know what kind of attire to wear or if it were okay to dress casually without feeling peculiar. But the attire was to dress classy, and I believed I tried my best while trying to feel comfortable as well. Most people had showed up in fancy attire and I was quite bummed that I didn't dress up to par like they did. I believe they also have a club next door and most people have dinner here before heading there, which explains the fancy attire. I would be aware of that next time though! My wonderful experience: My significant other and I ordered appetizers first and chose the Ravioli and Ceviche from the menu. They were great in terms of presentation and quality---we were surprised by our choices and did not regret them. The ravioli were made fresh and lightly decorated with beans, with each bite delivering a nutty, rich flavor. The ceviche had surprised me the most interestingly, because it had taro chips! And I love taro! The way the two were presented had complimented each other extremely well, because each bite was light and refreshing. Ceviche had a lemon, zesty flavor and the fish tasted fresh from the sea, what seems like. As for the entrees, my partner ordered the Free-Range Chicken. It was a generous portion with a full chicken thigh and it was very well-prepared. I strongly wished I had switched for his dish because the chicken was savory and moist. Not at all was it dry and it had me begging for more. But I had my own stomach to fill with my Seared Tuna because it was also well-prepared and fresh. Both entrees were very delicious and did not disappoint us. Nearing the end of our meal, we also had dessert and went ahead with our selfish desires to order the New York Cheesecake. It was so delicious, I believed that ended my dinner on a happy note, and made the both of us extremely satisfied with our meal. I was impressed not only by the food, but by the ambiance of the restaurant and most importantly the waiters/waitresses throughout the course of our meal. Also their selection of music was delivered with high-quality speakers and I literally was out of my mind to want to dance in my seat because of how up-beat their music was. (Inside myself is actually a house music lover) But I totally remained calm and reserved even though I literally wanted to get up and dance about while waiting for my food. We expected the plates and portions to be quite small from looking at the photos here on yelp, but I was quite full after my meal. I had gotten the smoked trout deviled eggs. My boyfriend got the grilled cheese dippers and I just want to say I was blown away by those! Lol. I love food and when a simple grilled cheese can wow me that much it's worth coming back to. This restaurant really knows how to accommodate huge parties! I was the MOH (Matron of Honor) for my sister in law, so I wanted to make her night memorable. We had dinner and went to their club upstairs. Several months before, when I booked it, everything just went so smooth. Erika, Restaurant Manager, contacted me a week before the event finalized a 3 course menu for the 20+ girls that went. She also requested for a photo of the bride which was awesome because they used it at the club to congratulate her. The place is filled with lots of photo ops because the decor gave you an Alice in Wonderland feel with a trendy vibe. Maybe that's why it's called Parq?! Cause it looks like a park? Hmm... The food was delicious and more than enough for everyone at the table. She even had a personalize menu for her dinner. Their women's restroom and powder room was jaw dropping, makes you wish you had a walk-in room like it. We took so many photos in the powder room, it was just so captivating how could you not. If you ever have huge party for 10+ people, you should definitely book with them because it's worth it! I don't really like to go clubbing anymore, but my friend wanted to do a joint birthday at a night club, so I suggested this restaurant. I've been wanting to check it our for a long time now, so this was the perfect opportunity to have dinner here and then head out to the dance floor afterward. If you have a large party, they will make you put a credit card on hold and charge you $10 per person that doesn't show up. I heard they have different themes all the time, so I was excited to see what the decor was this past Friday. When you enter, they have a huge bench with a grassy background where you can kind of people watch. I liked how our table was set up in a U-shape with benches on each side. There were trees lit with white lights in the main room that made the ambiance feel like you're dining in a park. The girl's bathroom is so cool- it's connected to the bar, so you can order drinks in the lounge area. My friend and I hung out there most of the night since she thought the music was too loud. For dinner, I had the ceviche and tasted a bunch of things my friends ordered. I tried the braised short rib, Korean short rib, truffle fries, and some steak. Overall, I thought that the food was just okay and a bit overpriced. Our servers were really nice and friendly! One thing I really like about eating out, are eateries that understand how important it is to pay attention to details. I happen to be walking by, noticed a few young ladies outside busily getting the hostess station ready, and that's where I learned that they were opened for brunch that particular day. I am a big fan of brunch, so there was not bending my arm when I saddled up to the bar for a meal. There I was served by a young bar keep named Julia, who turned out to be quite the admirable individual. I ordered the Scottish Salmon Tartare served with a house made herb cream cheese served with crostini for $11, and I ordered house made Burrata served with heirloom beefsteak tomatoes, fresh basil, and a quick-aged balsamic for $10. To enjoy both I had a Stella via a bottle, given they do not offer draft beers. I recommend however that they keep their pint glasses at a colder temp. The Scottish Tartare was smoked in house and was absolutely fantastic. It was very light in texture but had terrific flavor. It not only had a great natural light salmon flavor, but also a mild pleasant smokiness and perfect seasoning. The herb cream cheese tasted great in combination with the salmon. It had an appealing flavor and creamy rich texture. Both were very enjoyable to eat with the expertly prepared crostini prepared in extra virgin olive oil. The crostini had a dark golden brown color and a great crunchy texture. Well done. The house made burrata was not only very tasty, but very nicely presented. First of all, hats of for making the burrata on the premises. I have had so many that are imported from Italy, so I was very pleased that Executive Chef Errol LeBlanc took the care of making it himself. The burrata was fluffy soft delicate pillows with a soft creamy center. What I loved about this burrata, was that it was not as milky soft as others on the outside, but it had an ever so thin outer layer or membrane, if you could call it that, that once you broke through, led to the heavenly cool creaminess inside. The light milky fresh flavor balanced well with the sweet but mildly acidic heirloom tomatoes and fruity sweet but tart flavor profile of the quick aged balsamic. In the end, it was a well balanced and presented dish. Executive Chef Errol LeBlanc is definitely a talented individual with well though out ideas for food preparations. However, the meal would of not been complete with out the great service of the differed bar keeps, the hostesses, and the individual, Julia, who took the time to discuss menu options with me and was attentive and friendly throughout my visit. Very disrespectful and disgusting that we got into this place to have a good time for my sisters 21 and then tried to kick out part of the party because YOUR front desk let us in with cowboy hats and the other guy in our party THREW AWAY his hat. I've been wanting to try Parq Restaurant for a while now and I was not too impressed. The stars: 3 1/2... Came here on a Saturday night at 9:15pm and we sat in a booth. Perfect! We get to people watch. Our server was absolutely nice however he hyped up the dishes so much that I was genuinely disappointed. Food: Warm Burrata Cypress with Heirloom Tomato, basil, balsamic vinaigrette Bone Marrow Lacquered Pork Belly Chefs Cut of Rib Eye Steak Strawberry with ice cream and waffle dessert. So when ordering I asked our server "how's the Pork Belly?" He says it's to die for and the best he's ever tasted. I then asked where else has he tried pork belly dishes to compare it to and his response "I have not tried anywhere else but since I'm from the south I know pork belly.". Although the pork belly had a good flavor, it was not the best I've ever had and it was actually very fatty. No meat or not a great cut to be serving to patrons. And I have tried pork belly all over SD. Next, I asked him about the rib eye. Again, he says it's really good. To me, it was alight and chewy. It did have a nice char on the outside but again not the best in which I don't expect it to be since Parq is not a steakhouse. Overall, it was a fun night entertaining ourselves. The décor is beautiful and is a Central Park theme along with Alice in Wonderland for brunch. I would definitely return and try out other dishes on the menu. This place is so trendy!!! The ambiance was great, and really put you in the mood to party. This was our first time here, we had dinner then wanted to check out the club next door. We ordered the mussels: super tasty and generous portion. Pirogies: the menu said there was pork belly, but I didn't see it! It was flavorful. Grilled octopus. Super good def the highlight! After dinner, we went to the club, and it wasn't too packed, but the music they were playing was fantastic!! Also the bouncers were super nice, which you don't see often. My fiance and I had wanted to have dinner at Parq for a while and never had the chance to do so. Recently we were able to go for YELP Elite event and we definitely will be back again! A big shout to Erika for being so attentive and really kind throughout our dinner, I was getting married the day after so I thought it was perfect meal before the "I Do's." The restaurant provided us complimentary glasses of champagne to celebrate our upcoming nuptials! Terribly kind of them and we very much appreciate it! For starters Bryan and I ordered the Dry Aged Ribeye Tataki and Bone Marrow. First time trying tataki and bone marrow and oh my god are they life altering! The tataki was perfectly marinated and tasted so delicate! I typically love fatty meats and I thought the marrow was like butter, rich and creamy on the accompanying toast. Bryan and I were both deeply satisfied and really excited for our entrees! I ordered the halibut and Bryan ordered the short rib. The halibut came out perfectly crispy and flaky, the horseradish cream wasn't very prominent but I really enjoyed the pea puree. The short rib was perfectly tender, cut through like butter. We could not get enough of it! The food was amazing as was the service, Erika was really attentive and so personable she kept coming by to see how we were doing. Our server Nathaniel was really informative and made sure we were enjoying ourselves. It was such a lovely night and I cannot wait to come back here again! Now lets get to the ambiance, the setting is definitely really intimate, lights were dimmed it was really romantic! We went there Friday night around 10pm . The bartender Nico gave my husbands credit card to someone else. He gave my husband his number and said his manager was looking into it late because they were to busy !! And they never called with any updates as to who they gave his card to even though when he realized it had only been about 10 minutes later .. we're from out of town and were there for our anniversary it ruined our whole weekend since the bank doesn't open till Monday.
