We came on a Saturday evening after 7 pm. We were greeted by very friendly receptionist staff. The place was pretty empty. We enjoyed the decor and the ambience. The food and the service was good but nothing to brag about. They have a small menu. We tried the octopus, gnocchi and the steak tartare. Probably would not order the same items next time. We came here for a celebration of birthdays. Our reservation was at 6:30pm and we were the first ones there and the only ones for a bit. It felt quite strange, but we soon found out that if you eat dinner there, you gain free entrance to the nightclub (which we unfortunately did not stay for). The ambience of the restaurant was quite interesting, in a good way. They had a fake cherry blossom tree made up of light, which was beautiful, multiple booths around the edges of the restaurant. It seemed pretty clean overall, even the restrooms, which is a definite plus. The bread and butter that came out was warm and delicious and so was all the food we got. We started with the ceviche and octopus for an appetizer, both of which was quite tasty. I had the flat iron steak that came out to perfection...with potatoes and broccoli. We ordered a bottle of white wine which was at happy hour price and our server brought out complimentary shots and a dessert to help us celebrate the birthdays. We all met a friendly fellow named Tim, who works there, who showed us great hospitality. Overall I had a great experience here. Great atmosphere, great food, and great service. I checked out Parq on a Saturday a week before my birthday party to see if this would be a good venue for a party of 7 or 8 people. The staff at the front was friendly and polite, introduced me to Caleb who brought me in for a few minutes without waiting in line to give me a tour of the place, give me prices of the different tables they had available. He was very personable and informative, and patient. He told me to text him of my decision. I did, and he gave me a great deal on a fantastic table. The security and bottle service women were all very attentive. I just wish they weren't dressed so skimpily. The DJ was off the hook, the music and speakers were fantastic, and the vibe was joyful. My group got some great dancing in and were able to rest up between our dancing spurts at our secure section. At one point, my phone went missing and the security moved lightning quick. Caleb checked in on us and made sure everything flowed, even though he had tons to do. I have such respect for this place. They're doing it right. And they earn my vote for best club in SD. Pricey yes, but well worth it! Even the door attendants at the back exit were cool and kind when I went out to smoke. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Treat them with respect and they will reward you. Absolute disrespect for HUMANITY. I was thrown VIOLENTLY on the ground BACK FIRST as I was trying to wait for my friend to get out of the bathroom on our way to leave the bar. My back is severely injured and my pinky might be broken according the urgent care - so I am suing this place. Urgent care advised me to go to the ER after the incident and i had to get X-rays for my finger and cat scans for my back. The manager "Gary" refused to let me know the name of the individual who threw me on the ground like a piece of trash. Treat people like humans. I am originally from hawaii and visiting San Diego for vacation. I was highly recommended to come here for dinner by a friend and I was not disappointed. I was greeted when I first arrived by the manager Erika. I asked if there was any way I could have a nice table since I was visiting and she put me in the cutest booth ever! I felt like royalty. Our server took care of us the whole night and gave us phenomenal service but what really put the cherry on top was Erika. We just had an amazing night at Parq for a combined bachelor/bachelorette party. From the moment I got connected with the VIP host to the end of the night everything was seamless. We had a group of 30 and they made sure we were having a good time. The security, waiters and staff were genuinely nice and attentive. I would highly recommend this place for special events. I Was here over the weekend for a bachelorette party, I won't say who we were served by but We were a party of 11 in the corner of the restaurant on Saturday night. We weren't greeted for at least 10 minutes upon being seated, which at the time wasn't a big deal because we're women and we were chatting a lot. Food a drinks came pretty quickly. I mentioned that I side dish of mine was missing, he said he'd go check on it and never did. When he came back for the only second time, we had been done eating for a good 10 minutes and I reminded him that I didn't get my side dish (at this point, I still wanted it) We asked for our checks and it was 22 minutes before he brought our check back (I know exact time because I had sent a text as he was at our table) and still no missing side dish. There were some items on our check that shouldn't have been on there, but at this point, we were already fed up. Once we go the checks, after waiting at least 10 minutes, we walked up to the bar and paid our tab because our server was not in site. I thought that was perfect because we had a group of 16 girls for a bach party and would be drinking during dinner. Dinner was fine until I looked up at the tv and saw a different DJ that was going to spin that night. I asked them why didn't they even emailed us to tell us that R3hab canceled and they said that we had to have bought tickets to the show....I PAID FOR A TABLE AT THE CLUB so why wasn't i notified? Perfect date spot! Good for groups too before a night out in Gaslamp. Food is second to none! The food price is awesome! It's worth every penny! Not to expensive or too cheap! Service is always good here and I've been to the establishment several times now. They're always coming up with new menus and so far I've loved them all. There are minor changes I would love for them to make but the pros far exceed the cons so I won't even mention it because it's just my OCD/perfectionist personality kicking in. One other thing is - getting reservations can be a little hard at times with short notices on weekends so book at least a week ahead and you should be fine! Good job Parq's! read more

I visited Parq a couple of weeks ago for a girlfriends birthday and pleasantly surprised by Parq. Location, ambiance, service, and most importantly the food were all great. The inside is beautiful with the lit up trees and brick walls. I ordered the Lobster Roll which was super delicious! The bread was soft and buttery and the lobster was very flavorful. Would definitely recommend this if you like seafood! I was planning on ordering the short rib for dinner but they were all out that night :( so instead I got the spring lamb t-bone which turned out to be amazing! I really wanted the smashed red potatos which came with the short rib so the server said he'd make some adjustments even though they don't really make changes to the entrees. So sweet of him! They went above and beyond and even surprised my brother with large signs spelling out his name- letter for letter! They also displayed his picture along with a congratulations message on the big screen! You should have seen the smile on my brother's face! This would not have been possible without the great customer service provided by Nihan! She made the bottle reservation process seamless and was very responsive. Such a beautiful and well designed place. The ambience sold me first walking in but to also have tasty food and customer service was great! My husband and I came for happy hour (6-8 everyday!!??! Awesome.) The happy included a couple of appetizers that were about 1/2 off and $5 well drinks (there was also 1/2 off bottle of wine I believe and some beer specials). Our waiter, Patrick, actually showed us around the restaurant and the club part which was beautiful and a lot bigger than we thought. We ordered the belly toast, Brussels sprouts, scallops, and the flat bread (little bit of everything). Everything tasted amazing and service was on point the entire time. I highly recommend coming here and next time I hope to be able to go to the club after! I decided to try this place out with my husband for our 3 year wedding anniversary. Decor was beautiful, lighting was perfect and made everything feel and look super romantic. Food was good, not great for me. I had the salmon and it came skin side up. Which was weird but I've definitely had better. Potatoes and vegetables were cooked perfect. Husband had a burger and he said he enjoyed it. I ordered a drink, the apple something rather and it was Delish. Absolutely loved it. We also got some dessert which was strawberries and cream and it was good as well. I read somewhere that if you ate here, they would give you a stamp so you can come back to the club part later on. We decided to make it a whole night thing and got our stamp to come back. The club was my favorite part. Everything was perfect, the layout, the music selection, the size of the bar area, dance floor, everything! I will definitely come back for the club again. The only reason i didn't give a full 5 stars was due to my salmon not being that great and also, when the host brought us to our seats, i could barely hear her speaking. I was given the great opportunity to try their dining experience through a Yelp event. My friend and I wet our whistles with the Good Thyme and Kentucky Honey cocktails. The Good Thyme was refreshing, great thirst quencher. The Kentucky Honey was surprisingly fragrant and primed your belly with warmth before eating. For starters, we got the bone marrow and dry aged ribeye tataki which were both decadent and fun to look at. And for our entree, it was a no brainer, we both got the short rib: very well prepared and flavorful! I did notice several ingredients repeated along the menu (i.e. strawberries, pears, ribeye) which is usually a good sign of a resourceful chef. The place is beautiful but we got very sad to see how some of the employees were treating the people. I've asked for a cup of water at the end of the party and the bar man ignored me at first, then my husband came to see what was going on, he treated us very bad, saying that the bottle of water costed money and that his time to add water wasn't free. Denying water for a couple that already spent money at the place just make him seem desperate and the restaurante look like it pays very low for the people to work so mad at life. The first time was for their Wonderland Brunch in which the restaurant is decorated in a Alice in Wonderland theme (definitely recommend this to everyone!) The second time I came here for a sorority sisters birthday, but me and a few of the girls got here significantly earlier than the rest of our party - so we decided why not wait at the bar?! We had a super warm reception from our bartender Ashish who walked us through the food and drink menus. He recommended the Crispy Brussels & Korean Short Rib as appetizers and the Peach Princess & Guava Prickly Pear Mojito which we got while we were waiting at the bar. Super excited to get our drink that had peach rings all over it! Also - the mojito was delicious and a bright pink color. Now, I'm a major foodie, and Brussels have for some reason become one of my favorite things to eat. Parq did NOT disappoint. The crispy brussels were delicious! The Korean short rib also came on a kimchi pancake, and was full of flavor. Our dinner was just as good. I ordered the Braised Short Rib - which I would recommend to anyone (and I plan on ordering it again the next time I go!) Our server Miguel was very accommodating and nice too. The restaurant had a DJ as well who played a Happy Birthday song for our birthday girl which was super cool - and the Bartender Ashish brought over a round of shots (Scooby Snacks?) for our table. We did go to the nightclub after dinner, but frequently came back to the restaurant to escape the craziness. The restaurant had turned into a lounge at this point, and was a nice place to go to talk. I decided to book the Bachelorette Package (which I highly recommend!). We showed up for our reservation a little early but we did not wait long to be seated. Our server was Lauren and she was so friendly and hard working. There were so many bachelorette parties having dinner at the same time and she was hustling at every table with a smile on her face. They had staff constantly coming by asking if we needed more drinks or water, and clearing our plates from the table. The menu was also personalized with the bride-to-be's name on it. I was expecting small portions for our meals but I was wrong. Most of the party ordered the rib eye and a couple others ordered the pork chop. We ALL loved the food! We also had a round of free gummy bear shots. Once dinner was done, we were escorted into the night club to our VIP table for champagne. We were told that we would have the table for about 45 minutes before it was recommitted for another party but I felt like we were at our table for a little more than an hour. I guess we got lucky! They also put our bachelorette's name and pictures up on the big screen of the club. After we had to leave our table we went to the dance floor for more dancing but the nightclub was really packed. We decided to head to another bar or club but everywhere else was pretty packed too. It was a busy weekend for San Diego but overall, we had a great time at Parq! Parq - Personalized menu for the Bachelorette Package - New American Near Me - San Diego, California

Living in San Diego has Vegas a hop, skip, and a jump away, but not anymore. Parq brings every aspect of Vegas here to San Diego. The good the bad the money. Aside from Vin which also has a bit of a wonderland type feel Parq has a more outside open air dining vibe. They are new so in that comes along a bit of a learning curve, so my first 2 times here I got moved, once with set reservations and 1 with last minute cancellation waiting list. Not that I mind necessarily because I got to almost have 4 different views, but a bit of a hassle having to pack up. This is going to sound odd, but the first 5 places Parq reminds me of is Vin De Syrah (SD), Girl & Goat (Chicago), Fish Public (Kensington closing as of tomorrow), Compass (Carlsbad) and Masters (Oceanside). They stay away from the seafood, farm to table, steakhouse labels offering by doing a bit of everything. Surprisingly small menu, but that's common for restaurants attached to entertainment venues a la Bang Bang. Décor is bright, vibrant and a welcome change, though the menu and club have no theme it leaves the décor open to tweaking. It's about an even mix between club and fine dining. For those that like to eat well before they party hard. Staff is friendly towards couples, less so for groups. That's staff as a whole. My waiter was amazing each time. Knowledgeable about the sauces and techniques used. My request to meet the chef was denied, or rather he never came out. It happens from time to time, but if you are from San Diego or know about our food scene, that's important. Case in point Mularkey in the early days, Chad White, didn't get that big by name alone. Unlike Vegas, NY, and LA; San Diego relies more of locally grown opinions and reviews so meeting our proprietors and chefs lets us know what they are all about. This wasn't too big a detraction, but to be noted. There is a European nature to the menu with so much confit, steak tartar, Caponata, Spanish Style charred Octopus. Something I've recently been using in my own cooking is white balsamic, compared to cheap balsamic it's mostly aesthetic and less sweet, but nothing at all like when compared to the real stuff which is thick, syrup like. Love the bone marrow which was simple and buttery in texture, the herbs made is sing like soup. Octopus was very good. Reminded me of my days in Andalucía, had to say to myself "this isn't café sevilla". Crispy Brussel sprouts didn't stand out, I thought the sherry would pop, but it lacked the acidity and color I was hoping for in a dish. Roast beets $13, whoa son, we're used to the seasonalness of Specialty Produce and other local farms and to have this be forgettable was even more surprising. I really liked the garlic mayo of the lobster roll and how it played with the citrus. Excellent steak tartar, not too traditional. Cognac was a tad strong. The reason is duck confit is a rich dish already and to add cognac to it to me was a bit of a punch in the face. You'll forget about the texture and the tenderness and you lose the trace of herbal finish of the sage. 24 hour short rib roast is amazing, tender, rich, great plating. Brown butter shrimp is very rich in flavors as is the seafood boil, good for sharing. Popcorn grits I'm not sure I quite understood the concept. Salmon was fresh, but that and the seafood boil to me were the most overpriced. Boiling Crab for half the price and $25 for a pretty basic salmon dish was an excessive markup. I highly recommend the cast iron bread pudding, it's a unique take on an easy and well done dish great for all occasions and presents very well. Drinks are good, more on the C&C or PP side than what you'd think a Vegas dining club would offer. Consortium always does it right and usually where you'll find Fernet friends. My club review will be separate, but in addition I also did the double dip of eating and clubbing in the same night. Dinner for 2 is easily $100+ with apps, entrée and drinks. My small group ended up being about that as my share alone, but we tried almost the whole menu. People save up and vacation in Vegas, but not us San Diegans. I was hoping for the influence and the food and not the prices. We may be a city of transplanted people, but we don't have to be a city of transplanted restaurants too. read more
