Amazing Peruvian food! the yuca was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. I definitely recommend the rotisserie chicken as well

I think I have found my new go to place for Peruvian chicken in the area! A Peruvian coworker recommended this place so fiancé and I decided to check it out for dinner. We typically get 1/4 dark meat chicken for ourselves but we decided to get the whole chicken deal that they have for $25. With the whole chicken, you get 3 large sides and a 2L soda bottle. We ate half in the restaurant and saved the rest for lunch the next day. Not many places do white meat chicken well but Max's knocked it out of the park! The white meat was so juicy and flavorful and did not taste dry or overcooked! The fries, yucca, and plantains that we got were equally as good! Also, if you dine in, they give you the big condiment sauce bottles instead of the small containers! The parking lot is a little hard to get into but definitely take yourself here!

Half a juicy flavorful chicken with a side of fried yuca, fried rice, black beans, and plantains... and look at those bottles

So first let me say that my go to place for rotisserie chicken is all the way in Arlington from POLLO RICO... yes OG place ... Let's just say that I may no longer need to do it ever again .... Yup Max's is so much better in so many ways ... Let's just say, you no longer need to feel bad for asking for more sauces because they bring out a bottle of each sauce for you to use to your hearts content. So that is a major plus for me :-) Another thing that makes this place better is that you have more options for sides than from PR. And another plus is the price .... the price is a bit lower than other places. And last but not least ... the star of the meal ... the chicken, it's so damn good !!! So moist and so flavorful and cooked just right and not overly done. The flavor on this chicken isnt just on the skin but goes deep into the meat itself so every bite is enjoyable and full of flavor . The side dishes are pretty good also , hell even the fried rice was good especially when yo uhhhh put some of the yellow sauce on it to kick it up even a notch. So do yourself a favor for flavor and check out Max's

Great little gem of a place! Very clean & food is great. I ordered 1/4 of a chicken with double fried yuca for $7.99. Prices are hard to beat & portions are pretty generous. Chicken is very well cooked. Skin & the meat is flavorful & moist. Only setback is that it is very salty. Yucas were delicious. Crispy on the outside & fluffy on the inside. I LOVE the sauces! I devoured the yuca but had plenty of chicken left over which I'll use for salad later. I will definitely be a regular at this place now.

I got double chicken with yucca to go with salchipapas. The salchipapas were nothing special and pretty uneventful over all. The chicken on the other hand was flavorful and juicy. If you just get the chicken, I would say go for it. The yucca was dry and not flavored. I feel like it could've been fried more. Overall, glad that there is a peruvian chicken place near by for me to fix my craving!

Our second visit for Peruvian chicken from Max's, but our first visit for takeout. The chicken's really tasty and juicy, and the beef chauffa works really nicely. Our order would have been ready right away if not for the chauffa (which takes a while longer.

I had a little bit of trouble finding Max's chicken. I walked in and ordered carry out. My order: 1/2 chicken 1 side yucca 1 side white rice There were no other customers and my order was ready in less than 10 mins. I was surprised with how much yucca and rice come for the sides. The yucca was perfectly fried, oh so crunchy! The chicken was well seasoned. The menu is pretty straightforward like most Peruvian chicken places. I will be back.

I wanted to love this place because it's super close by but it's just okay. I got a whole chicken with steamed veggies, fried rice and yucca fries. Everything's cooked in the back where you can't see, so I couldn't tell if the food was just reheated. The veggies looked like those bagged frozen veggies and yucca fries were a bit hard. The place could use an upgrade. My go to is Super Chicken in Tyson's and I can see why it's a local favorite when compared. I prefer places that spin the chicken where you can see it and the sides served in front of you. It was Saturday evening during dinner time and the place was quiet. The food took about 15 minutes to be ready, unlike Super Chicken where food is served immediately in front of you.

I wanted to wait and give a review after the first time as I hoped it wasn't one of those, ("the first time it was great! The second time...not so much.), let me reassure you that was not the case with Autentico! On my first visit, I had a seafood selection, and it was so fresh and so good! I was also checking out my buddy's chunks of beef that were part of his meal, and wanted that too! He gave me a chunk and it was so tender, juicy and good, I knew on my next visit, I would have to order some form of their steak! The service was spot on, and food order time to table, was exceptional! My next visit came yesterday, and yes I ordered a steak! It was a late Friday afternoon, and even though they were busy with a few large tables of people, service was still outstanding and the food was even better than the first time! If you have read some of my reviews, by the time I think to take pictures, there's not much left to take a picture of! Also, I know some people just take pictures and not much else, and while something can look really good in a photo, you have to dig into it to unearth what's really good about the dish, and everything I have tried at Autentico, was superb! I ordered the NY Strip with fries and instead of the rice that comes with it, I asked if I could substitute veggies for the rice? They said no problem! While the first time I had a couple bottles of their Corona, which was very cold and was also provided with a frosted glass, this time I asked for a Modelo Especial. I was told they had it on tap! Major points, as I love all of Modelo's products especially the stouts! It was just my buddy from work this time and me, and we had such a great meal and the ambiance was awesome! I had joked my first time visiting there while driving in, that there was an Irish resturant right next to it! I mentioned that we should go there after for a couple pints. We never got around to it, as we were too full both times to make it in. But that resturant is in the back of my mind for a future visit! So if you do go to Autentico, you won't be disappointed. It's a great location that's worth the drive, and an exceptional resturant!

Food selection was smaller, food was not worth the price and service was awful. We did not have a reservation but saw several tables open. They sat us near the welcome booth as we were a family of 5. We were given menus but not enough utensils and thought eventually we would get it along with the menus. There seem to be a huddle of employees in the entrance of booth and the waiter did not show up for another 5 minutes. Another 5 minutes passed and a different waitress showed up asking if we were ready. She did not tell us of any specials and we had to ask her the price of the bistec a lo pobre which she said was $26. We also asked her about other items we saw at the online menu but she said they weren't available. We decided to stay and order ceviche, lomo saltado, anticuchos and bistec a lo pobre. My husband ordered a beer and I ordered a chicha. There was no physical menu for children and she verbally told us the options. I ordered chicken tenders and fries for my toddler. She took our orders and food came out after 15 minutes. The meat was missing the sauce the menu said it came with, the ceviche tasted very lemony and the chicken tenders were more like chicken balls. The waitress never showed up with our drinks and we decided to just eat and go as the staff seemed to want to socialize more than tend to the customers. Once we were done, we asked for boxes and the check. Apparently, gratuity was already included and maybe thats why the service was so bad? She hardly came to check on us and to top it off she was surprised when we told her drinks never showed up to please take it off check. She didn't apologize or asked how the food was. She gave us boxes and off we left. Later, we realized the bistec a lo pobre was $28 instead of $26 and we had ordered two. I just wanted to leave at that point and not wait another 5 minutes for waitress to fix her mistake. The ad, as shown in picture, said all moms receive a flower but I guess having three kids with me wasn't enough for me to get one. We also noticed when we left their website said a party of 6 or more has gratuity included but we were a party of 5. What is shown online is very different than what you get in person and if the food was great I would gladly go back for at least takeout. Food is not worth it, the service for Mother's Day made it worst and the environment was mediocre at best. Prices were inconsistent and menu is not appealing. Not sure what happened here but changes should be made at least for Mother's Day.
