We had some difficulty navigating their website due to a problem they had, so we called the store and dealt with Brice Purdy, who was extremely helpful assisting us to complete this order and to get it delivered in time for the birthday celebration. Weird party city. Nobody says a word to you the entire time you are shopping. No "hello", "welcome", "need some help". One of the balloons I had purchased was going flat before I even got to my car so I went back in to get one that was not leaking. This continued after 4 trips to my car. I told the boy working that he could just give me another balloon for the same price since this batch of balloons seems to be defective, he just ignored me and grabbed the same balloon and started to fill it anyway. I see that I'm not the only one giving the store not so hot reviews. I have never had balloons delivered and I probably will never have it done again. I was in a jam because it's Halloween and I needed orange and black balloons, I left my balloons there to be blown up and delivered and I ordered a bunch of other ones and someone very helpful by the name of Javier spent time and energy working through an order with me. He was fine, the drama came with the delivery because it was two hours later than the window. My window was 11 AM to 1 PM. 130 still no balloons, I still cannot shower for the event because I'm waiting on said balloons, now I call party city, the driver is just leaving and needs to make two trips because he does not have the proper vehicle. On their website they show a huge SUV type car that can hold at least 100 balloons. I am told on the other end that it's HERTZ.'s fault, that the balloons have been ready since early this morning,-So I'm getting deflated balloons I'm thinking and they're about 2 1/2 hours later than I wanted. I still tipped the driver because I don't know who's fault it is, bottom line, NEVER ever get balloons delivered from party city because they will be late and they will not have the proper vehicle. Lesson learned. Do it yourself OR get a friend and get another car! I still stand by the employee Javier the day before who was helpful but Late balloons and Two trips- pass on party city. I just went to the store about 10 minutes ago, I was with my "dark friend" and his girl. We were walking around and I decide I want to buy an air horn. I walked around with it and decided to buy it. Right before we gonna go up, I noticed that the manager was staring at me while on the phone. I felt like she was talking about because she was eye balling me for a few minutes prior. After she hung up another employee came down the aisle and walked away while staring at me and my friends. He stood at the end of the aisle for a few minutes just staring at us. I tried to get balloons from the Indio location. The clerk at the Palm Springs store called in the order while I was standing there. 25 of one color, 25 of another, for pickup at 4PM for a party I was setting up at 4:30 some distance away. When I arrived at 4:15, the balloons were not ready, and one of the colors was wrong. I had to wait while they finished, and had to take the colors they had filled, because I didn't have time for them to start those over. I tried to contact Party City corporate to talk about the problems in ordering between stores, and the clerk's recommendation that we just send someone to order and wait while the balloons were filled - but Party City is so plagued with complaints that they haven't been able to get back to me for 5 business days. Pretty sad. I'll go to another balloon store next time. read more

I have been here a few times and always seem to be here shopping every Halloween! The location is great, right off freeway in a bustling shopping complex. Plenty of parking! A warning for all, do not come here the day before Halloween expecting it will be quick and painless! They had a ridiculous line of people trying to find costumes or try them on! With that being said, this place has a wide variety of items that anyone would need to decorate for a party. They even split things up by color to help you identify. They're known for their wide variety of costumes for Halloween and sales. They have always showed me good customer service. The negatives to this place are the overpriced costumes, especially during Halloween. The lack of cleanliness in the changing rooms, as well as maintaining the items to buy i.e. Picking up all the products off the ground and organizing them in the proper sections. Overall, I give them 3stars for the service and yearly party supplies. I'm sure I'll find myself here next Halloween too haha read more

I've got some pretty mixed feelings about this place. Pros- -great selection of party supplies (It's huge!) -clean, new store -good selections of cards (and when I went, possibly a permanent thing, the cards were 50% off the list price!) -so many balloons to choose from -descent prices with specials and sales -When I asked for help, they were friendly, even though they could not always help me. Cons- (And this are super frustrating big deal cons) -SLOW service. I've been here twice. The first I waited in line for 20 mins. One person was at the register, one person was standing a the door handing out catalogs- but there was no one coming in, and 15 people in line. Meanwhile 5 mins prior I was in the back of the store and there were 3 guys just socializing with customers. I know the store is new, but it doesn't take long to figure out you should not keep paying customers waiting that long. -Issues with stock. They had a deal on cups- buy one get one free, I needed 6 packs. When I asked for help they looked it up on the computer, said they had 13. So I waited while someone went to find them. And I waited. And I waited. Turns out, they could only find 4 total and one pack was damaged. (Of the 13 they were supposed to have). I asked a few times about ordering them, to make sure I could get them without having to pay shipping. They only ship to your home (and you pay for shipping). What a waste of my day. How hard is it for you to find your stock or say, yes, we'll order it for you, you can pick it up in 4 days. They said they would not get new stock until 6 days later which was too long for me to wait if I wasn't 100% sure I'd be able to get it then. I was not offered the same price on similar items nor was I given any solutions despite my repeated requests for shipping items to the store, etc. This may be a company policy but it's still helpful to know in case you end up in the same boat. I was given a 10% discount on the damaged cups but I still don't have enough I'll cut them a break because they are a new store, some staff were friendly, and the store was clean and had some great products. read more

Some of the worst service I have ever received. I went in to buy one item and it was obvious that they were having some organizational issues behind the registers. A girl had three registers active, was working 2 of them, had customers waiting at each register--it was a mess. I waited 15 minutes in line with one person ahead of me. I found one balloon ($10) that I wanted to have filled because it matched my sons theme. I asked the sales associate how long it would take to have my ONE balloon filled and he called over to the balloon people and they said 20 minutes. "There are people with large orders that need to be filled." Look, I get working with deadlines but I have also worked in retail management and know that you do what you can to make the sale. I wasn't asking for 10 balloons, or 5. I was asking for one $10 balloon and was turned away. I bought my $4 item and left. Probably won't go back. read more

This is probably the worst customer service experience I've ever had and I'm in another state. I ordered some decorations for my niece's birthday party from the Party City website and my sister went to pick them up. When I placed the order online, I had to provide my credit card information and no where on the site did it state that the card would not be charged. So when my sister went down to the store to pick up the store we were unaware of the fact that they don't charge your card online and that you have to provide payment at pick up. So the associate asked her for payment and she explained the situation, and that I provided my credit card information online. Well instead of practicing good customer service, Jorge (the associate) proceeded to be rude to my sister. My sister and I both have worked retail and understand how difficult the public can be so we always make a point to be super cooperative and understanding. However, this Jorge doesn't know how to treat customers. If there is an obvious misunderstanding, as an associate you apologize for the misunderstanding and explain to the customer. You don't treat them rudely and talk down to them. Also, the manager (I believe) Amber was just as rude. My sister asked about the charges to my card, which there were 2, and Amber used a tone with her that basically translated to rudeness and "you're full of crap". Honestly, a simple explanation of it more than likely being a preauthorization and it would be released in a couple of days would have been the correct approach, as well as providing Party City customer service number if there were any issues. If the manager is rude and doesn't practice good customer service, then why would the associates? I say, save yourself the headache and frustration and buy your stuff on Amazon or elsewhere. I really hope Party City Corporate reads these reviews because this experience was very unnecessary. read more

I ordered balloons for pick up on Oct. 12th and spent $70. My husband picked them up for me and they were not ready at the time we had been given - in fact they had not even been started. I purchased the balloons that I wanted them to blow up but they still messed up the order - instead of royal blue I got baby blue and instead of white I got silver. The balloons looked terrible! Came here to buy a costume for my kids. Extremely disappointed by what I got. No customer service, bad costumes, and no way of making my Halloween great. I ended up buying a costume, later discovering there was a giant hole in it that they did not tell me about at the register, and tried to return it. They would not let me return it so I just threw it away. I ended up going to Halloween gear at the Costco center in Palm Desert and got excellent service.
