My (now) husband and I knew from the start that we wanted Turnip Rose to cater our wedding. After experiencing their wonderful food at our cousin's wedding, it was a definite. We even chose a venue based on the fact that they would allow Turnip Rose to cater. Our experiences with Lori and her team were wonderful! She was so responsive and efficient. We had originally booked for a May 2021 wedding, but she worked with us to reschedule to October 2021 in January 2021 when it looked like the pandemic would still be present through the area. She never made us feel guilty for postponing and that was very appreciated. From the tasting through to the day of event, in which she and her on-site coordinator assisted throughout, Turnip Rose was fantastic! Never mind that fact that the food was as superb as we had remembered and the guests loved every bit of it! If you want food that your guests will rave about and remember, you should only book Turnip Rose. Their quality is stellar and prices are very reasonable for everything you get. We came for a birthday celebration and I didn't find it to be 5 stars. Pricing was like the norm for lunch. You're not getting a lot of food like cheesecake factory where you'll have left overs for another meal. Green leaf near by is much better. The place is cool and very clean. The Hong Kong chicken salad was ok it has like freeze dry shiratake mushrooms. The big mouth looked good and the bite I took was yummy but I wouldn't come back for this. The wet burrito, why did I get this? It had beans steak and cheese. Umm should have gotten the sandwich or salad. Looked better than it taste. Won't be back and most likely won't have catering done my them. The place accommodate for parties in the back. read more

Ray and his team provided catering for my daughter's wedding at a venue in Orange. From the start (months prior), beginning with the hosted tasting of available entrees, hors d'oeuvres, and deserts, Turnip Rose was a first class operation. Ray assured us throughout that whatever our preferences would be "no problem" to accommodate. On the day of the event, the staff was prompt, completely professional and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious and piping hot (at our remote venue), and beautifully presented. The wait staff was available to all guests and attentive to every detail, from the appetizers and social hour, through the delicious dinner and concluding with clean up. The Turnip Rose is phenomenal! I had my wedding at their Promenade and Gardens venue, and it was perfection. After a recent remodel, the place is exquisite. Barbie was wonderful and on top of every step in the planning process. From food to decor and guest count to time line, she walked us through it all. The food was mouth watering delicious, and the staff was the perfect combination - never hovering in the way, but always there when you needed them. I recently was invited as a guest for my friend's JSB (Junior Senior Banquet) for Vanguard. It was amazingly decorated and the inside of the place was aca-awesome! The food was so good. They served some type of salad along with cheese toast, and had a bar open (no alcohol because it is a christian university). And then came the main course, which consisted of some type of roast chicken along side mash potatoes and roasted veggies. Delish. read more

Went to a wedding this weekend at the Turnip Rose Promenade in Costa Mesa - the outdoor ceremony venue was gorgeous and the receptions food was fabulous. The wait staff was very attentive and provided excellent service. My only complaint would be the acoustics for those sitting in the back, unfortunately we couldn't hear the speeches. However, it was a lovely wedding to attend and I would highly recommend it to all. Thumbs up. read more

My wife and I had our wedding at the Turnip Rose Promenade and Gardens in April 2015. Turnip Rose made our wedding stellar. They made our wedding day stress-free. Turnip Rose is an elegant, highly professional, and incredibly well managed company and the Promenade and Gardens is a picturesque wedding venue. The staff knows what they're doing. The food is out of this world. Book your wedding here! You won't regret it for a moment. From the beginning, Turnip Rose was a class act. My wife and I looked at a number of venues but no where else were we so impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the beauty of the venue. When we first visited the venue, we went along with my in-laws. We liked it and liked Barbi, the charming manager there. We then left and came back later that day to take a second look after talking it over a bit. The venue was closed so we just looked around the outside. We were stopped by who we later discovered was their head chef. We thought we were about to be asked to leave. It was quite the contrary! He introduced himself and offered to open up the doors for us so we could have a complete second look, inside and out. Our experience with Barbi and the head chef weren't isolated incidents. Every single staff member we interacted with in the run up to the wedding and on the wedding day was professional, courteous, and kind. The turip rose experience! The day of the rehersal Amanda, part of Turnip Rose's high quality team, walked us through our ceremony. Our officiant wasn't present but she walked us, our wedding party, and our families through each and every moment of the ceremony. We would have been completely lost without her! The service on the wedding day was nothing short of flawless. We did not hire a day-of coordinator but we didn't need to! Amanda and the rest of the Turnip Rose team was with us every step of the way. Obviously on the wedding day there are lots of emotions, lots of loved ones around, and everything happens very quickly. The staff there made sure we were always taken care of. If we stood up for a toast without our glasses, there was a staff member running up to hand us champagne. Glass empty? Instantly someone was offering us a drink. Need to find a member of the bridal party? In a flash, the staff is on their walkie-talkies to find them. We've never felt so attended to. And when is that more appropriate than on your wedding day? The food was fantastic. The buffet style tasting events didn't even compare to the food on the wedding day. The food was good at the tastings but it really blew us away on the wedding day when each plate was served at the table. Many of our guests, unprompted, told us that the food was the best they've ever had at a wedding. We had our self-described "foodie" friends complimenting the food. We didn't expect that! Truly, the food was the caliber of a high quality restaurant. I could go on and on about Turnip Rose. They think of everything. They're wedding pros. I don't have any complaints to make about them. We just celebrated our wedding and reception at the Turnip Rose Promenade & Gardens on November 7, 2015. Our wedding and reception were absolutely perfect! The food was scrumptious, the staff and the service we and our guests received starting with our rehearsal, and throughout our wedding day was amazing! Both times we were so very pleased with the services and delicious food provided. Turnip Rose is simply fantastic. Ray and his crew turned what could have been a disaster into a fabulous 60th birthday party for my wife. We had reserved the wrong date and didn't realize it until about 90 minutes before 70 people were to arrive at our home. I called Ray and we figured out what had happened (miscommunication on my part) and he mobilized his crew, which were working 4 other parties that Saturday evening, to supply us with 8 platters of delicious food. Turnip Rose catered another party for us 5 years ago, in 2013, and the service, food, cleanup, and overall attention to detail is second to none. We just used The Turnip Rose for a reception following a funeral we held. We have worked with the Turnip Rose many times as a vendor, working for the same clients, and for the first time we were the client. I have to say that the experience with them was easy and perfect. On May 27th The Turnip Rose catered our wedding in a private home for 160 people. Ray oversaw the entire planning from start to finish. Throughout the few month process we discussed many details...and he didn't forget one of them! His memory and attention to detail is IMPRESSIVE! Their staff was attentive and tidy! I know they were there, but I never noticed them "working" around us (a very good thing)! Little did I know Brandi came along with the deal. She was personally attentive to me, she must have visited me 5-6 times asking if there was anything I needed. Very professional! I had no idea that they attended to more than just the food...they were truly there to serve! Our tables were set up beautifully (details just as I asked), hors d'oeuvres were flowing and the bartenders were quick to serve. AND the food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend the Salmon Picata and Chicken Florentine, everyone loved both and they packaged up leftovers for us to enjoy with our out of town guests for days to come! I went to a wedding at Celebrations a few months ago. The food and setup was exceptional. I have been in the business of coordinating weddings for many years so I know what to look for when going to a wedding. BUT my whole experience was ruined because of the way the wait staff were being treated. I understand that the wait staff does not need to be treated like the bride, but the mangers talk to them AND the guests as if they are worthless. My table had an error in seating- a husband and wife were seated at different tables. I notified one of the servers and he said he needs to check with the mangers before changing the table. A few minutes later one of the managers-Susan or Sussie came over and very rudely said that the bride spent a lot of time making sure the seating is the way it is and we cannot do anything about it. So I went over to the bride and groom and asked if this was on purpose, they immediately apologized and told the coordinator about the situation. So this manager comes over and throws the forks and knives on the other table, tries to squeeze a chair in and waits for us to say thank you. So I DO, and she walks away rolling her eyes. I notified the coordinator and she very sweetly apologized and said she would talk to her. After that, I saw the servers being yelled at by this manager for serving us soda and soft drinks. Overall, the wait staff was so nice and helped us with all our requests although I could see that the management was being horrible to them. I have been not only a server, but a manager and coordinator for weddings. There is no need to treat your staff the way the staff was being treated. Especially in front of the guests and for no apparent reason. The wait staff was more than helpful. I cannot stress this enough. And even when I tried to give a check as a tip they would not take it. I wanted to talk to this manager lady but she seemed like she would just snap at me. Unprofessional. Disgusting. My daughter is getting married and I was seriously considering Turniprose from all the great reviews but not after my personal experience. read more

My daughter, Alexandra got married at the Turnip Rose "Celebrations" Venue back in October 2014. I thought I had posted a review but perhaps I forgot, so this is long overdue. We had a about 115 people and even today I still get comments from friends and family who attended about the food, the professional manner in which staff handled the event, and that "it was one of the best weddings they had ever attended". The whole process from early meetings with Chrissy to the tasting event, to the actual wedding day could not have been better. My family will attest that I am very particular when it comes to service, food quality and event management. We felt the entire staff really cared about our individual event and did everything to make sure it would be the "perfect day". There was not a detail that was overlooked by Chrissy and her team. My daughter and husband had looked at several venues and pretty quickly made up their mind that this venue was their first choice. Chrissy worked with us in the planning process and while weddings can be expensive, I felt the "value" we received from the Turnip Rose far exceeded my expectations. So my message is to dads, mothers, brides and grooms: If you are looking for a place in Orange County to get married, you need to give the Turnip Rose high consideration. I do not think you will be disappointed and in fact you will be very glad you chose this place. I just heard that the Turnip Rose will be opening a restaurant at Harbor and Adams in about 60 days. If the food is anything like we had at the wedding I am sure this place will be an instant hit. I believe it is going to be casual and one of those "go to" places we are always looking for a good meal. I have it on my calendar to check it out. read more
