On our first consultation, she stated very clearly "I don't like doing fillers around the eyes"... I should have taken that statement very seriously!!! I have a large tender and discolored bump under my left eye that has never smoothed out after 6 weeks. I went to her office to make sure nothing was medically wrong and she offered a dissolving treatment. But obviously if a doctor is uncomfortable injecting needles in the eye area, they have no business doing it... therefor I strongly declined. Once you damage my face, I'm not going back for more! After Dr Saber acknowledged the large bump under my eye, she offered zero compensation and accepted my payment in full for subpar results. Not a good experience this time. A lot of times you have great care givers, however this office raises the bar with wonderful comfort givers as well. This particular surgery is a marathon and not a sprint and I feel immense gratitude for the care before, during, and after the procedure. I had never had any cosmetic surgery and to say I was a bit trepidatious is an understatement. I mean, it's my face! I did extensive homework to find a board certified doctor by initially looking at The Aesthetic Society website. Also, I read some medical journals about facelifts (focusing on high SMAS) which gave me a good launch point before my first visit. And finally, I do admit I was hoping to find a Beverly Hills doctor NOT in Beverly Hills. When I went to see Dr. Cohen for a consultation, he repeated most of what I had researched and patiently answered all my questions and clarified any concerns which brought great comfort. This doctor is so amazingly knowledgeable and his passion for constantly learning and vetting new techniques spoke volumes to me. With all this talent, all the credentials, and the medical expertise to back it up, you would maybe expect to find this doctor a bit intimidating but nothing could be further from the truth. He is so genuinely personable. Dr. Cohen could be my new next door neighbor and I would happily throw the welcome party. This doctor truly listens to his patients. I told him I was interested in a re-fresh and not a re-do. I know he is very capable of the latter and there is nothing wrong with that choice if that is what a patient prefers but the former is more who I am. And he delivered. His in-office OR is impeccable and very convenient. Not having to go to a hospital was a big thumbs up for me. His anesthesiologist walks on water as far as I'm concerned. I was more worried about that part than the actual surgery due to past trauma with severe post surgery nausea. He told me I would wake up feeling like I had a nice long wonderful nap and I did. No issues whatsoever. Healing from a full facelift takes time and requires full patient participation. The doctor and his staff were so checked in making sure I was doing well and being there for whatever I needed. Instructions were very well explained before surgery. I had periodic follow-up visits which I really enjoyed partly due to the team atmosphere of the office. Dr. Cohen, Jill, Jaime, Natalie, Lorrie, Alex (and I know I'm missing a couple of other fabulous members), I can't thank all of you enough. They really helped give me a boost during those first few weeks and again highlights the comfort and care giver aspects I mentioned earlier. The post surgery care of being able to take advantage of the in-office spa which includes the miracle CO2 laser was a treat. I had it done during surgery and again a few months later. Highly recommend for a smooth texture especially if you have more mature skin. And I would highly recommend seeing Alex for post surgery lymphatic massage therapy. Dr. Cohen found a gem in her and she helped me so much to keep my swelling down, keep tissue loose, and keep bruising to a minimum. I know my healing time was much shorter because of her. Again, another team member whose superpower is comfort as well as care. The office has many more post care options to tailor to one's needs and I really appreciate how they can customize them to each patient. If anyone is on the fence about cosmetic surgery, I hope this review helps assuage any doubts. It is a big deal and should be thoughtfully considered. Not a throwaway review--please read if you're considering BREAST REDUCTION with DR. ROVELO…read more I hope this helps others considering this life-altering decision. To start with a few positives:My scars are healing nicely, my post-op breasts are relatively even, and Dr. Rovelo & her team have a warm bedside manner. That said, I am now 1 year and 4 months post-op and feel deeply dissatisfied. Before surgery, I met with Dr. Rovelo to discuss my goals: relief from back pain, ability to buy bras in regular stores, no shoulder grooves, improved confidence, etc. We also discussed size. I was a 30HH/30I, aiming to become a 30D. I showed her a 3D rendering from another surgeon that reflected my size goals. She confirmed that look was achievable. We reviewed a few other photos together, so I had both verbal and visual confirmation that "D" was possible. After surgery, Dr. Rovelo again told me she'd gotten me to a "'D." I was elated! Though I still had back pain - they said to start PT. 6 weeks post-op, Dr. Rovelo said to get measured for a bra. I went to a shop and asked for a 30D. "There's no way you're a D." Turns out, I was a 30G (a size at which many women seek out a reduction). I assumed swelling, but Dr. Rovelo's office said swelling wouldn't affect size at that point. 3-months post-op, I sobbed in Dr. Rovelo's office and asked why I was still FIVE cup sizes larger than expected. Her answer? "You're a 38D." Any woman who wears bras knows this is not the same as a 30D. Cup size scales with band size. Dr. Rovelo knew my band size going into surgery and had examined me in-person. To this day, I can't understand why anyone would assume getting me to a "D-cup" would mean 38D when I am a 30 band size. I asked if there was a medical reason I wasn't reduced further--she said no. That she removed the required amount of tissue, thought they still looked large, removed more, and then "everyone in the room said they looked good," so she stopped. That was devastating to hear. After that, Dr. Rovelo became cautious in her wording--no admissions of fault, only "I'm sorry you feel that way"-type language. She said she avoids talking in cup sizes, yet she used cup size both before & after surgery--and in official medical notes. I asked if she'd do a revision with me covering the anesthesia and facility fees (which many surgeons offer). She said no. I spent the next 9 months emotionally wrecked. I react poorly to anesthesia and couldn't fathom doing this all over again. But after months of PT, I still have back pain, have to shop for specialty bras, get shoulder grooves, receive comments about my large chest... all things I hoped this surgery would resolve. At the 1-year mark, I decided to pursue a revision. I learned Dr. Rovelo would no longer accept insurance in April. This started an extremely stressful 4-month scramble to get insurance approval. Two reasons it was so hard: 1. Dr. Rovelo's office refused to budge on this cut off date--despite knowing insurance approval can take months. 2. I'm now stuck in a no-win situation: too big for my problems to be resolved, but "too small" to meet insurance criteria for another reduction (which is based purely on grams removed, not symptoms). In the end, insurance denied the revision. I feel incredibly frustrated as I wouldn't even be in this position had Dr. Rovelo reduced me to the size we discussed. I also feel that her team gaslit me throughout to avoid accountability. I sent a final email simply requesting written acknowledgment that I was leaving this process unsatisfied. They wouldn't even do that. No apology. No accountability. Just placing blame on insurance. My advice? Find a surgeon who will support you through revisions if needed. Find one who won't make you feel crazy when you ask why you're still FIVE CUP SIZES larger than planned. That surgeon is not Dr. Rovelo.

Prior to my septoplasty, I'd been unable to breathe through my left nostril due to a catastrophic sled riding accident I had as a kid, four decades ago. The surgeons back then did their best to put my nose back together, but my nose had lost its original aesthetic and like I said, I was mostly unable to breathe through one side. Not only did Dr. Salibian do a remarkable job at rebuilding a severely damaged septum, but he corrected the aesthetic damage at the same time. The work is perfect. When I was considering whether or not to tackle the aesthetic damage, I asked a very close friend who's an esteemed plastic surgeon in San Diego (specializing in breast augmentation and explants; he doesn't do septoplasty) for advice. He cautioned me that many if not most plastic surgeons doing rhinoplasty do mostly women so the tendency when doing men is to over-feminize. He asked for photos of Dr. Salibian's prior work, which I sent to him. He came back with a resounding "Go for it!!" I'm so glad I did. It's hard to explain, but my nose looks 100% better, perfectly balanced and symmetrical, while at the same time looking like my nose. I think people can tell something looks better without putting their finger on it and THAT is the dream. Put simply: Dr. Salibian is a very talented artist. Another intangible that I believe is absolutely crucial to the outcome in most surgeries, especially those involving aesthetic work, is the character of the physician.
