Instead, they blamed me and kept saying I should've bought the bike from them even though I purchased it from the official Brompton website. I also really appreciate the beginner's workshops they put on the first Saturday of every month. They go over basic topics like how to fix a flat tire, which has been great for a novice like me. Moving tire very smooth and NEVER had FELT sticking by break pad BEFORE fixed my Lear tire. After fixed my Lear tire, went throw to the front door... I HAVE FELT something WRONG!!! TOO STuCK!!! LEAR TIRE. I CANNOT MOVE to FOWARD and BACK!!!! Super surprised it to me! Because Before fixed my Lear tire, I never ever felt something stuck!!! I told the mechanic person who fixed my tire. He said that because your wheel is broken, spoke is broken. THT 's it! He said "bring the bike tomorrow, I will check it!" I brought today! I pushed my bike again. HE SAID " because Wheel is broken" HE DOES NOT CHECK MY BIKE ANYTHING even he said bring my bike to the shop. I asked the staff to adjust the brake pads, but they couldn't do it. Pasadena Cyclery has become my go to place for my emtb, one thing I will emphasize is that I have never met such awesome people! Coming here, it seems everyone is inherently born to be a customer oriented person, as someone who works as a CS director, they get top marks in my book! The first time I went here was to buy fresh new tires for my Giant emtb, upgrading from the stock Maxxis Rekkon that came with the bike, I really appreciated the professional suggestion (not pushing for sales) for the tire that they feel would work for my bike and for the rides I normally do with it (mostly downhill) so I purchased the Maxxis Aggressor and The Maxxis Minion DHR. I absolutely love those tires and having such great fun riding them at Skypark. After so many rides, ebikes / mtb's like your car needs maintenance, so I brought it to Pasadena Cyclery to have my ride serviced, I opted for the level 2 service which they did such a phenom job cleaning and taking care of the necessities that needs attention (break pads for sure - components/parts are paid separately) I have to say - I was impressed! my chains, derailleurs, shocks and etc - they look like new! not to mention the bike looked squeaky clean! I am really really impressed! granted it is a little pricey but if you are thinking of the longevity of your bike, maintenance is something you should never ignore and set aside. Then they leave a snarky reply to my review. If my first review was too long to read here you go: 1) You charged an extra fee without telling me and then lied about it stating it was mandated by the health department. 2) My tire exploded in your store after replacing the tube and damaged my tire. Instead of taking some sort of responsibility for it, you passed the blame onto me stating the tire was already damaged. Even after I suggested we split the cost of a new tire. You lied and passed all the blame to me. This is bad customer service and instead of reaching out apologetically, you harass call and leave a snarky reply. Our wait time was roughly 20 mins but it depends on the day. We were hesitant to come here since previously my husband said another salesperson brushed him off. However, our salesperson Devon was super helpful and tried his best to give us his attention given the chaotic situation. They had 2 bikes in my size (small) and I got to test ride outside. Came here to get a small repair done on my bike. The repair should have only cost $30, but once we arrived to pick up the bike we were told that it would be an additional $20 due to "internal routing". When we dropped off the bike, the person assisting us (Josh) knew that the work would need to be completed and routed internally. He even mentioned that it may take long than an hour, but conveniently failed to mention the additional charge. The receipt even specifically lists to call if there are additional charges that are going to be added. read more

Went in on a Sunday afternoon to get some simple maintenance done on my bikes. Markus took me at the service counter and answered a few questions, looked up my past service records, and talked me through what he thought my bikes needed. An hour later I got called back to pick up a bike I just needed some sealant in, and got there and both were ready for pickup. (The other just needed a derailleur service). Granted the work was pretty minimal, they took care of me at a reasonable rate and were super friendly through the whole thing. This is now my preferred local bike shop. read more

I've never lived up there, but I can't seem to edit that) I've been to this shop before and always got great service, but today was exceptional! They were slammed, with everyone coming in and needing repairs. They handled everything beautifully, got everyone taken care of with patience and attention. They fixed my bike right there. They replaced my bottom bracket and put on a new chain. Parts and labor only $70, and it took them only 30 minutes. They were very polite, humble, and knowledgeable. I watched them help another customer, making minute adjustments and cleaning that fixed her problem without costing her a lot of money. This young guy who did it was very good at knowing how to fix her electric bike. My bike is a beater bike, which I ride every day as my main form of transportation. They didn't skimp on service or give me an attitude because I have a beater, they treated me with respect even though everyone else was bringing in much more expensive bikes for them to work on. read more

I have bought two Trek bikes from this store now (the first about 9 years ago). Each time I have gone, the staff and owner has been very friendly, and they have some quite expert people working there. The advice I got on my last road bike was very helpful, and I ended up getting a very good price. I liked that their salespeople were very honest (as far as it goes for salespeople) and did not try to upsell me much (unlike other other places like Incycle in my experience). I have had maintenance done at the store too, and it has always been high quality. Many of the products in the store are Trek/Bontrager, which tends to be high quality although a little bit less cheap. I've been able to get some good deals in my visits and never regretted a purchase so far. It's also in a nice/convenient location in Pasadena. read more

RESPONSE TO EMPLOYEE COMMENT: If the bike was "good to go" your standards are low. I took the bike to another shop. The mechanic showed me that several of the spokes were much looser that others. The tension on the spokes were adjusted and the squeak is gone. You think because I was only charged $10 I should be happy with substandard work? I went in to have my bike repaired not to look for a deal. I would have paid to have it tested thoroughly but instead you decided that it was good enough with addressing issues that could have caused a squeak rather than truly addressing the problem. Other than the review and the phone call I received from the shop I did not have much contact. To call me hostile is merely a way to distract from a poor job by lying. Do your job right and people are happy. Glad you responded so that other customers can see how low the service standards are at Pasadena Cyclery. ORIGINAL REVIEW I dropped off my bike to be repaired because after about a 1/4 mile the rear tire squeaked. After checking it myself it appeared that the spokes were a bit loose and possibly causing the noise. I explained that to someone on the phone and to the mechanic that checked me in. I was called back 3 days later and told I could pick up my bike. I was told that the spokes were not too loose and that the problem was fixed by tightening the headset and one pedal. I was also told that two of the mechanics road tested the bike. I was only charged $10. I paid and took the bike for a quick ride. The noise was still there. I could have gone back and requested that the look at the bike again but I thought I would rather loose the $10 than to allow the shop to "fix" the bike. I just took the wheel to another shop and the mechanic said the spokes needed tightening. I am not sure if that will stop the squeak but having properly tensioned spokes will increase the safety of my bike. read more

I walked in the store along with 4 other family members and was immediately greeted and asked what we needed help with, which we were the only customers in the store at the time. After 3 minutes of being in the store, 2 other customers walked into the store (caucasian if you were wondering). Shortly after, another store clerk approached us and told us that there could only be 5 people in the store at one time. The clerk that attended to us initially didn't even inform the other clerk that we had arrived first and that we would automatically receive services....instead, they allowed for another customer to say that they were just in the store to pay for a bike. Now we informed the rude and racist clerk that we were there first and he went on to say that if everyone is not purchasing anything that we needed to leave. Shame on you @pasadenacyclery we expect better but I guess we are still dealing with ignorant people during this troubling times. We've also been at this store many times and patronized this business, too bad it took a quarantine to see their true colors. Btw....we are not caucasian. Go see Matt! I contacted Pasadena Cyclery in search of a TrekFX Sport. Matt spent a few minutes on the phone with me and explained the difference in the 2020 and 2021 models. Upon arriving to look at this fine piece of machinery, Matt was busy with a customer and I waited to work with him. Not only did I close the deal at closing time of the store, he asked if I could pickup the bike the following day. Seeing the sadness in my face, he said give me 30 minutes. 1 hour passed by after store closing and he had all 5 bike accessories mounted. He also fine tuned the bike in the process.
