Blackberry margarita

This place was a nice surprise! I was attending a show at the below bar and accidentally ran into this place. I love speakeasies and this definitely has that vibe, so I had to check it out after the show was over. You have to go up a flight of stairs that end at small window that has a person ready to greet you and check your ID of course. Once you go inside you're immediately transported to a sophisticated and classic old time. There's open seating and tables everywhere, the walls are filled with frames, paintings, mirrors, bookcases and lots of interesting decor to look at. I love the vibe of this place, I just prefer to go when is less crowded. You have to order your drinks at the bar, you don't get service. The bartender made a special margarita just for me, it wasn't in the menu. I need to go back to this place with my husband.

Yes yes and yes! It was everything I wanted and more! I had some neighbors tell me of the amazing cocktails at Paschalls. The first time I tried to visit they reached capacity and so I didn't get to go but I did this time! It reminded me of a Gatsby-Medieval Castle- Library home. When you step in you'll understand what I mean! It's a smaller place so seating is very limited, however you may be lucky like us and snag a table just perfect for us. I love trying new cocktails but often it's a risk because I like complex drinks but only if they're sweeter and easy to drink. If you're like me - get the Apple mule drink. Wow amazing. Like a spiked apple cider but you barely even taste the spike! I'm not sure if it's customary or if it was today but we waited in line to order which is awkward but I LOVED. I hate feeling like I have to fight other people to get the bartenders attention. The lady who helped me was very helpful and kind enough to answer all my questions. And the rec she made was perfect. I definitely need to come back with my husband! Thank y'all for the wonderful time! Bartenders deserve all the tips!!!!

What a fun place to go and hang out. The drinks are really good and just an overall cool place.

Cool vibe with some games available to hangout and enjoy the company of friends, not just drink.

Love this speakeasy bar! It's a great hidden gem of Denton with the most amazing unique drinks! I love the atmosphere here with art and books covering the walls and chesterfield sofas for seating too! There's darts to play as well, along with soft chill music. A lot of people come and go but I'll stay here for hours relaxing and sipping on my cocktails made by the wonderful Tristan! It's the bourbon and craft cocktail lovers dream spot!

Salvador Dalí -such an awful drink. Only had a few sips and it's $12.00 down the drain. It's very thick and flat tasting.

This place is not the same. From my favorite bar to I will never be back. The drink menu changed but it's really the staff interaction we had. The girl was cold and rude. The drinks were not handled correctly. Gently stirring drinks that need to be shaken aggressively, not measuring the liquor properly and shorting the drinks. I couldn't even get my favorite drink cause they didn't have all the ingredients to make it. The whole fruit bar they used to have up front is gone making this place super average. What a letdown.

I go back and forth on this place. I like the décor and the drinks really are quite good. The space is impressive and makes an impact when you enter. However, the staff can be hit and miss. I have been a couple of times and will say that the bartenders are well trained and the drinks are consistently good. The attitude is what varies. This last time, I came with a friend who had never been. We came early on Saturday and went straight to the bar. The bartender was friendly and welcoming and let us know he was available if we had any questions. We decided to sit and check out the menu. When we went to order, he was occupied and we were helped by another bartender who then tried to talk me out of my order. It wasn't that he didn't want to make it, it was far from one of their more complicated, he just looked at me and assumed I wouldn't like it. Now, I am all about recommendations from people, but I also know what I like, and I stuck with my original order. Shaking up my friends harvest pear while simultaneously stirring my spice rack, earned him more than one discreet eyeroll. Also, I think the vibe is a bit ruined with hip-hop literally thumping through the floorboards. It is the same owner as Andy's so this isn't a neighbor issue, and it fits really well downstairs, but there is no getting away from it up. I really think the price point is more than fair for the quality of their cocktails, and the spice rack was delicious.

Happy place. Love the vibe here.

Is there really outdoor seating? This page says there is, but I want to confirm because I haven't seen anyone.

No, there's no outdoor sitting.

Is the entrance easy to find?

I would say no. There is no sign that says Paschall, it's almost like a speakeasy in that regard.… Read more

Is cigar smoking allowed here?

No cigar smoking, but it does kinda have that vibe.

The overall vibe has changed, and not in a good way. There seems to be a clear tension in the space that makes it uncomfortable to be there as a customer. From what I've observed, the current manager creates a very unpleasant environment. She consistently appears angry, tense, and overly controlling, and it visibly affects the staff. The employees often look uncomfortable, uneasy, and as though they are being constantly micromanaged. It's hard not to notice, and it completely changes the energy of the place. As someone who has spent money here and genuinely liked coming in before, it's frustrating to see management have such a negative impact on what used to be a welcoming environment. A business like this depends heavily on atmosphere, and when management makes both employees and customers feel uncomfortable, it reflects directly on the entire experience. I'm honestly surprised this hasn't already driven more employees away, because it is definitely pushing customers away. I hope ownership seriously reevaluates the current management situation before it causes even more damage to the business.

It's has a great look and they played 90s alternative music videos which added to this review. I ordered their red wine and stuffed mushrooms $11. It paired so well with my red wine. Fo For our main we ordered chicken spaghetti bake $17.50. It consisted of fresh house-made spaghetti baked with house roasted chicken, white cheddar cream sauce, calabrese chili peppers, italian pico, five cheese blend. Wish we had looked a litte harder on this selection. We thought it was a chicken Alfredo. So this is defintley packed with cheese, more of a Mac and cheese bake. Everything was good! Full disclosure: We are Mexican food snobs. Highly critical of everything from the chips and…read moresalsa to the tortillas and the red and green chiles used (if it's spelled with an "i" on the menu...chili...huge red flag!). First, the atmosphere is very inviting for both a gathering of friends, but also a family could have a great meal there without feeling like you have to yell or compete with a happy hour crowd. The decor is chic and the mural in the rear part of the restaurant is amazing. We generally do not get cocktails often, but with a 1/2 off happy hour, we tried two different ones and both were amazing. One had a chamoy straw and I wish I could tell you what they were called, but I can't remember - just go with what looks like the most complex flavors and you won't be disappointed. We had the empanadas as an appetizer...excellent flaky crust, great filling; the fajitas, another great pick; and the short rib enchiladas with a pipían sauce...think spicier mole and not as chocolate-ly. I used to have pipían as a kid and this is a pretty good representation. If you like spicy, ask for the spicier salsa which is still not killer spicy (I could have used more heat) but the morita chiles speaks to the kitchen's knowledge of Mexican chiles and how to use them. Well done.

The drinks were also good! Now- the food. I hate to say this but it was very white washed mediocre Mexican food. And I had such high hopes because of how beautiful the inside was. The queso fundido was the best thing we got. But everything else was just "meh". Then we got the tres leches for dessert and it wasn't even wet which sealed the deal for me. It's acceptable, but you can go two blocks around the corner and get GOOD Mexican food.

We opted for the lounge area as the seat offered to us there was better to our preference. The tables are packed quiet tightly which i dont like personally but i get it. That tidbit aside it is definitely a cool environment. Service was really nice and the food we ordered was great. I presume it's the same menu as J Theodore so I'm going to have to try that now for a more restaurant style meal. This is a cool place to hang out and bring friends imo. Since we don't really drink we'll probably end up at the restaurant next time as it's not easy to eat on tiny tables. It's a bar/lounge after all.
