The star of the show were the sides though - the mac and cheese had a bit of spice to it and was slightly tomato based, and the mashed potato salad I LITERALLY wrote home about and told my mom and my aunt immediately, some of the best I've ever had. We got the brisket, the pulled pork, mac and cheese, potato salad, and cole slaw.

We decided to take the Ikea ferry over and grab some bbq in person. The line was long and we waited for about 45 minutes or more. Basically there's just two guys working the meat station and people seem to wait until it's their turn to make a decision on what to order. We for the pastrami bacon strip, the wings, the Frito pie, brisket, mac and cheese, and potato salad. It was pretty reasonably priced and the food rust we couldn't immediately pick up, came to us relatively quickly. There's no shortage of seats and you have many options of picnic tables or bars. I would say the food is overall decent. The brisket could be more moist. The wings were meaty but a bit bland without the ranch. The Frito pie was probably my favorite out of everything. Overall a fun experience. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon with a free ferry ride to Red Hook.

I tried went with the Gosht burger and Caesar salad with grilled chicken. I ordered the strawberry mojito for a beverage choice. It was sweet with alittle bit of strawberry taste. The burger was great though alittle small. I enjoyed it. The salad was fresh and the grilled chicken cutlets were soft. Overall, a decent meal. Definitely a nice place to patronize for a nice meal.

My daughter checked it out but she didn't have socks to play so she stayed at the table with us. For appetizers, we ordered the dumplings (so cute and delicious), the pancakes and the pizza. The pizza was mediocre. For our entrees I had the shrimp avocado salad and my husband got the gosht burger. Our entrees were really tasty. We also got a side of fries for our daughter which we didn't really have to order. It is a little pricey but look at their location! When we got the bill we were charged $10 for the play place. I asked for it to be removed because my daughter didn't really play there and didn't have socks so our waitress removed it. It's not a big playground area and how long can kids really ply there if they're there for the restaurant? They charge $10 on weekday and $15 on weekends.

The staff member who took my order warned me that it would be spicy, but I thought it was quite manageable (or perhaps she made it non-spicy) but overall I thought the flavor was quite bold and the bite-sized lamb made it easy to scoop up with the bread. The restaurant space is fairly large so I'd like to return for sit-down service and to try more Yemeni specialties.

There are plentiful tables and even a downstairs special event space. Plus, the bathrooms are very clean so you know this is a quality place. Food: 5/5. Huge portions! You can easily feed two people with an entree. We had the Fahsah Chicken in a hot clay pot...so good! It had a plethora of spices and herbs but was not too spicy. And the shwarma was the best we have had in Brooklyn! Ambiance: 4/5. Clean and tidy, they have alot of Yemeni decorations and clay pots that add to the authentic vibe. The doors have a slight draft so it was a tad chilly but nothing too harsh. Overall a lovely spot Value: 5/5. Huge portions of quality food, great service and extra bread. We loved it!
