Falafel Sandwich
Reema S.

Al-Noor is such a neighborhood Staple. There's very few Halal food spots in the neighborhood. This deli is such a lifesaver. The guy who runs the kitchen is super kind and very generous. My go-to is always the falafel sandwich with extra white sauce and the Kofta sandwich. The meat is always fresh, bread is always fresh. This place is always busy during the day so I recommend calling ahead for your order. They have space to sit but it is pretty minimal but it's cute and dainty but no frills. The drink selection is pretty cool they have teas, juices, and all sorts of stuff that Middle Eastern/brown people would like. I love coming here on days when I haven't cooked a meal at home and want a quick bite that's easy on the pocket. Highly recommended!!

Falafel Side

quite homey, nothing is too salty, the food is cheap and there are always so many customers. the closest to my egyptian mom's cooking that i've gotten in the neighborhood (although the food/deli isn't particularly egyptian)

Mixed Beef and Chicken
Brian L.

One of my favorites for Halal food in Brooklyn. I get the mixed beef and chicken over rice, and it's some of the best quality Halal meat I've had. Great balance of protein, veggies, and carbs. The workers are nice people, prices are affordable, and the portions are excellent. An awesome deli to grab a quick bite and get on with your day.

Delicious hot dogs, very welcoming and friendly owners, good atmosphere in a great neighborhood.

Mixed chicken & beef over rice: that is a LOT of [good] food for $6!

I've been eating at Al Noor Halal Deli on a fairly regular basis since I moved to the South Slope/Greenwood Heights area in the summer of 2016. Halal chicken-and-rice spots are a dime a dozen item in this city, and this is probably one of five or so that I've tried. 9 times out of 10, I'll order their mixed chicken & beef over rice (pictured below). It is decent; comparable in taste to the famous Halal Guys cart on 53rd and 6th in Manhattan. It doesn't have the intense flavor of the shwarma at Mamoun's Falafel, but it also costs less than half of what Mamoun's does. The thing that makes this place stand out above the rest is the incredible value. "Wow, that was not worth it," said nobody who ate at Al Noor. You'd be hard-pressed to think of a more filling meal you could purchase for $6 almost anywhere in the city. You can't even get 2 large tacos at the El Tenampa across the street for that price (they are tasty tacos, btw--but that is neither here nor there). While most restaurants surreptitiously jack up their prices every now and then, Al Noor's prices have remained steady since I first came over a year ago. Ahmed is one of the friendliest business owners I have ever met. He and his chef are always polite and prompt in their service, and will get to know you if you come by enough. For instance, when I came to pick up my phone order last night, he had already prepared the food with the white & hot sauce on the side, just the way I like it. It's the little things. Other things I have tried and recommend: the fish & shrimp combo (at $10, probably the most "expensive" item on the menu) and the kofta sandwich (greasy, but oh-so-good). The falafel here (Egyptian style, with made with fava beans) is also really good, at the price of 3 for $1.

Pastrami Sandwich $4

Wish I discovered this gem earlier! The pastrami sandwich and fries were super good and the price was even better. The roll is $4, it's not as stuffed like the average Deli sandwich but considering it's halal and the price is cheap I'd say it's definitely still worth it! The portion size for the fries is generous and can easily be shared by two people. The inside of the spot is definitely run down but the facade is fairly new. I like that they have buffalo sauce, bbq sauce and the classic white sauce out on the tables so customers can put how much they'd like. The staff is friendly and I'll definitely be back. Kofka Sandwich

Kofka sandwich was delicious - huge slab of lamb with a tangy tzatziki sauce. Service is fast, good amount of seating, and an excellent value. Not many places where you can still get a huge sandwich for $6 or a breakfast sandwich for $2.25.

Cheesesteak and Chicken Over Rice
Celeste B.

Went in here for dinner. Friendly staff, simple menu. Got the Philly cheesesteak and chicken over rice. Nice prices. Steak sandwich was yum. Chicken over rice- only had halal bros, defiantly not that. But the chicken over rice was fresh and very good and with it being right around the corner makes it great! Will be coming back. For another steak sandwich. Want to try burger and chicken cutlet. Wanted to write a review because not many people have and have been curious about this place for so long. Roommate wanted to add that staff is SOOOO NICE. This is what makes this place the perfect place to grab an expected bite.

Simply the best deli in Brooklyn. You can get a lot of Halal delis elsewhere but this is definitely a good Halal place!

Great food. Our company catered in recently - much appreciated. The owner dropped off the food himself. Great falafels, too.

There's a couple of tables in a small store. Above the register there's a menu board resembling a train departures board, cycling through the options (it looks neat, but the printed out menu on your right is a lot more practical). There's a cooler with drinks and salads as you enter on the right. The sandwiches, however, are something special. On my first visit I went with something familiar, the Mean Streets (their Italian sandwich). The bread itself is fantastic (locally baked), and the toppings delicious as well (if I recall correctly the dressings are house made). Pleasantly, they also give you a paper plate with your order, which is a nice touch compared to eating off a wrapper. I enjoyed the first sandwich so much I came back the next day to try the No Sleep Til Gravesend. The sandwich is essentially a hot roast beef sandwich, with a jus on the sandwich reminiscent of a French Dip. Perfect on a cold, rainy day. Overall, 1 of 1 has great (and mostly house made) ingredients and great execution. There's a level of creativity on the menu that you rarely see elsewhere in the city. 1 of 1 is among the best sandwich shops in the city, and a very welcome addition to the area.

Got a TGTG order here. 11/10 I'd do it again…read more Brooklyn DOP actually originated as a pandemic business where my friend's personal trainer started baking pizzas outside of his Greenwood Heights apartment. When the hype got large enough, the owner decided to start a pizzeria and the rest is not history. This is one of the more worthwhile TGTG orders to me. Their pizza is SOOO perfectly crisp and charred, and actually is one of the closest pizzas that reminds me of the famous originals in Napoli.

Expensive though, about $55 dollars for a vegan 18-inch Margherita pie with 3 toppings. Was it worth it for the experience? Yes. Would I recommend to someone who wanted to try it at least once for a good dairy-free pizza? Absolutely, I couldn't even tell this was vegan cheese. Would I get it again? Maybe (?) once in a while as a treat with price being the only barrier. Service 5/5: This was great. I came here the other day to inquire about their vegan pizza and just wanted to try a slice. The person found his manager to talk to me about this. They were super friendly and explained to me the situation. This location only sold vegan options in full pies and their other DOP Fast Life location does sell vegan slices, but they didn't try to push me to buy. I came back today and the staff today were also very welcoming. Ambiance 5/5: Rustic red brick interior with warm lighting. It was definitely bustling on a Friday night. Food 5/5: Delicious pizza. I do regret that I ate it cold after driving 30 minutes to pick it up so I did not get the full experience. But the crust was still crunchy. I do wish the toppings were a little heavier but the tomato chunks in the sauce tasted very fresh. A very classic New York style pizza and I couldn't even tell it wasn't real cheese. Vegan garlic knots were great too.
