My 4 beer flight
Spencer K.

Short answer: excellent beer with a very broad variety, very good traditional bar/bbq food, very friendly and helpful service. With a "western barn bar" aesthetic, PRB has a welcoming feel. Visiting from out of town PRB was next to my hotel and I just didn't feel like driving into downtown SLO for a meal. I'm not much of a bar food guy (though my ever expanding gut suggests otherwise), but this brew pub is able to balance its very obvious "this is a place for locals" vibe with a "feel at home when your out of town, even when you are eating alone." The servers were all very friendly and made helpful Suggestions. When I asked about a beer flight I was told it came with six beers, "but you don't have to order all six." I am sincere when I ask, " why didn't I ever think of that?" If only I had asked to have two beers removed in my many beer flight experiences, I might actually remember the experiences. The food was pretty solid, I had the tri-tip sandwich, though the fries were a bit over salted (perhaps a way to get people to order more beer? Yes, I'm always up for a good restaurant conspiracy). The beers were truly excellent, each one really crafted in a way that confirms these guys are artisans. The verdict: if you find yourself in San Luis Obispo looking for a good brew pub experience, and you don't feel like driving downtown, this place has it all.

Tacos
Denise D.

First time visiting and the ambiance was good... service was good. The fries were amazing and the fish sandwich on brioche bread was good. The meat from the tacos were good (tried x3).... Husband tried two beers which he seemed to enjoy. Only thing wasn't too fond of was when the check came, it was electronic (didn't see the itemized) and didn't realize tip was included in the bill (so ended up paying double tip when we calculated the math afterwards)

Hibiscus Seltzer

The service here is impeccable, the tallow fried cheese curds were bomb, great selection of sauces (try the creamy sriracha) wonderful atmosphere. Our server was the highlight of the entire experience!

We love Paso Brew, the service, food and drinks are great. We love their Taco Tuesday specials, Thursday Tri Tip sandwiches, Micheladas, potato salad and beers.

We stopped in for a snack & drinks. Cheese curds were a fabulous treat & well-executed. Our server was a delight. She told us she loves her job - and it shows! My husband tried a few beers: Red Lager & Centennial IPA. He enjoyed both. I had the Whiskey Cream Stout and then a Seltzer. YUM! Our server offered to bring me samples of the base seltzer & 3 current rotating flavors first (the base seltzer, mango, pineapple, hibiscus), which was super nice! They were all very delicious - and because I got to taste them all, I actually ended up getting a different flavor than I originally thought I would like best. Pictured here is my favorite - pineapple. Delicious! Also: great ambiance. Brewing tanks are gorgeous. Comfortable chairs. Ample seating inside and out. Easy parking.

Stopped in for a late lunch and a beer while spending some time at SLO Ranch Farms. My husband and I both ordered Wagyu burgers and beef tallow fries and we both were blown away. By far the best burger I've had in a long time. Fries were crinkle cut, season salted, perfectly crispy. I will be back.

Nakey wings

A fantastic addition to this area. It's been 5 years since I was last in town. A lot has changed. This was my first meal after perusing the scene at the Avila farmers market. I started off with the nakey wings. Worked out for me as I prefer dry wings. This was so good. The dipping sauce that came with it was perfect. I legitimately ate the whole serving. Opted for the tacos as did my friend. I got one of each except for the fish. The asada was my favorite flavor wise. Everything was delightful. I was too full to end with dessert. The mango seltzer I had was so refreshing. I meant to get some to go, but I guess that's the sign I need to come back sooner rather than later. The bar area was a fun time.

Brew pub located within walking distance to my hotel (Marriott) and located within other restaurants and coffee shop in a newer little "mall". I'm not a beer drinker so no review of that here. Popped in around 7:30pm on a Tuesday had it had clearly been busy - no tables available (empty but needed to be bussed) so sat at the bar. Staff were friendly and quick to take my order. The bar was full with most people getting a bite to eat with their drink. Typical bar food, the chicken strips were too greasy for my taste but the fries were amazing! I basically ate fries for dinner! Which, hey you gotta do once in a while.

Steak bites

My wife and I were a little surprised and disappointed for our first time trying a beer and dish here. We heard good things from friends about the steak (filet mignon) and fries so we were eager to try them. They were great and service was fair, but we maybe got 5 tiny pieces of steak, mainly fries, and mushrooms. The employees were extremely nice though that was our favorite part, they gave us extra sauces that others would usually charge for - horse radish, ranch, and garlic aioli. We also got the cider, Hazy IPA, and Peach fuzz IPA. The hazy was very watered down and the others were okay nothing special. Inside the restaurant is nice and unique with the brewing drums behind the counter. Not sure if we would come back here but they should definitely be better with their beer for the great environment it is.

Bad service TWICE ! Never got to eat there because no wait person came to our table for 15 min. We walked out. People were grabbing their menus. Do better. Went to Palo Mesa Pizza , DELICIOUS!!!

This is a nice spot to have a meal. The fries are cooked in beef tallow which makes them extra crispy and delicious! I was glad that they had several sizes for the beers (pint, half-pint, and a $4 taster). I really thought the menu was good and diverse bites. We liked the taquitos a lot. The salads were large, easily enough for a full meal. I did find that the bacon on the wedge salad was more like lardons than crispy bacon, and the tomatoes were bland. Our waitress was very nice. Service was relatively swift. They had plenty of seating, including counter seating for individuals and small high-top tables and larger low-top tables for groups.

Great spot for a beer....it has a large outdoor area that is dog friendly. The beer is excellent and they have an extensive food menu which I will explore on my next visit...service was friendly and knowledgeable.

Casual. Good service. Pretzel was fabulous. I highly recommend that pretzel. Attached to residence inn. Super easy to walk over and grab a beer. Great atmosphere. I'll be back the next time I visit my kid at SLO.

Awesome taquitoes

Parking is pretty bad especially during peak hours so expect to circle around multiple times or find street parking elsewhere. We ordered: -Bee Stang, Detroit style (5/5): Despite the name the honey wasn't too pronounced - it was mainly the spice. This is a pretty garlicky pizza and the ricotta texture and taste was on point. The thick and crispy crust of the style was also a standout for us. This was my favorite of the 2. - Sausage and Pepperoni Pizza, Neapolitan style (4/5): My bf's favorite pizza of the 2. Love the thin crust and flavor which was distinctly meaty with tomato sauce to cut through. It could have used more toppings for the price and it was also slightly burnt on the edges of some of the crust so we couldn't enjoy it fully. Also the slices weren't evenly cut through but luckily it was easy to split it apart. Overall very enjoyable meal and a nice date night vibe inside. Would definitely come back if we're in the area.

Helpful staff guided us with their patron favs. Started with: 1) meatballs: flavorful & tender (probably added panade). Marinara nicely balanced. Pistachio pesto added a nice nutty accent. Great dish. 2) mixed berry salad: spring salad greens with plump fresh berries. Pinkish berry vinaigrette was nice. Tasted similar to a 1,000 isle type dressing. 3) three pea pizza: buddy doesn't like goat cheese so ordered it on the side. Crust was great, veggies fresh & colorful. It really needs the goat cheese though. Otherwise it lacks dimension. I was able to sprinkle on my pieces. Made a world of difference. 4) bee stang: crust had crisp edges. Middle got a bit soggy from toppings. My NYC buddy loved the ability to fold it in half though. Great overall flavor. The hot honey added just the right amount of tang/tart. Tasted as good as it looked.

On arrival, my service dog was heeling calmly and under full control while the bouncer spoke with us. Despite this, I was told I could not enter because the establishment downstairs had previously had "an incident" with a different service animal. Denying access based on a past experience with another dog is not lawful. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, service animals may only be excluded if that specific animal is out of control or not housebroken--neither of which applied here. My dog was behaving impeccably and performing their trained tasks. Loudness, past incidents, or personal assumptions are not valid reasons to refuse a service animal. This was not a misunderstanding--it was a refusal of access based on disability. I hope management educates their staff on ADA compliance so future disabled patrons are not treated this way. I will not be spending my money here and urge others to do the same based on their discriminatory behavior.

He could've easily said nothing and let us overpay for items that qualified for combo pricing. The pool tables were fun, but unfortunately one of them (the one nearest the window) was not functioning properly, which was disappointing. Overall, with a little improvement such as better seasoning on the food and repairing the billiards table this place would earn five stars. This was not my first time here, and I've had a better experience in the past, but I will still give it another shot next time I'm in town since it has a chill vibe and I know it's been better in the past.
