This little brewery is a gem in Pismo Beach. We ended up going here looking to quench our thirst. and have a little small snack upon entering, we were greeted by the brewmaster himself. Once we entered, we took our seats at the bar and ordered one of their delicious beers. We started chatting with the brewmaster, whose knowledge is very fast upon not only the beer he brews himself but beer in general. He really takes consideration into his craft and made it a passion. We ordered food consisting of a bratwurst and pickled vegetables this was beyond palatable. One of the best little appetizers I've had. I would recommend this place to anyone because they are friendly fairly priced and if you were looking for good conversation. This is the place to go. read more

We're alway on the hunt for nice cool breweries. This place is one not to be missed. And it was a surprise running into people we know. It's not big but does pack a punch with its size. They also have food on the menu. It's a small spot along one of the Main Street in downtown Pismo. A couple tables outside as well as inside which also has a little bar seating. The selection of beer on tap was nice. As well as one of their ciders. The gentleman working, he maybe the owner was a sweetheart. Very friendly and charming. Seems like everyone that was there all knew him. It's like a nice local hotspot. The vibe was pretty chill and mellow. A nice place for lounging and just enjoying a nice cold beer. Another one for the books for visit. It was wonderful and will for sure be back whenever we're in town again. It's also pet friendly. He even brought over a little treat for the pup. read more

Love this place. How it hasn't blown up and popped up on a Netflix food special (or other) yet is just a matter of time! Casual laid back atmosphere, the staff, food and beer are always fantastic! We had an absolutely incredible meal with the most delicious Italian sausage with sauerkraut mustard on a lightly toasted soft bun. The bright sauerkraut on the perfectly cooked sausage that has that slight snap when you bite into it with the delicious tangy mustard on the side was incredible! The German style 'nachos' with the bratwurst and beer cheese and German potato salad were delish! Tried their house Ginger ale -made like an old school soda fountain- refreshing! Here on Sunday Oct 5, end of summer. Luckily I got here just before the kitchen closed and I as able to order dinner. I got the protein plate with bratwurst and it was absolutely fabulous!! All of it was SO good - I hate beets, but these I did NOT hate! Matt, the bartender was really friendly, made me feel like an old friend- which was really nice since I was traveling solo. Great spot to relax and have a pint. The beers we sampled were decent, but there was no option to do a flight. I think they'd benefit from having tasting flights since they brew their own. Kulturhaus is great! We have visited about a half dozen times, the house taps are excellent and they have a good selection of guest taps that we have enjoyed. We recommend the pickle plate, or the protein plate, which is a pickle plate with a sausage of your choice. The pretzel is also awesome. The owner is very knowledgeable and friendly, and the service is on point. I think this is one of the best breweries in the area, and I recommend visiting anytime you are in town if you are a fermentation enthusiast. read more

3.5 stars While the beer menu at Kulturhaus Brewing is small, it definitely has thoughtfully curated beers on tap. For food, we ordered the following: -hot Italian ($13): pork, fennel, red pepper flakes in a grind - served on a sourdough or brioche bun with 2 toppings - sautéed onions + mustard -sourdough soft pretzel ($7): locally made by Grover Beach Sourdough with both mustard and bread cheese The food was okay. Our hot Italian sausage lacked flavor. I like a sausage with a good snap, so the hot Italian was not the way to go. For $13, you would think you'd be getting a meal meal, but such was not the case. The pretzel was good, not nothing to write home about. I think that Kulturhaus is great for drinks, but the food menu could use a little more oomph for a longer than stop by for drinks feel. read more

Came here on Christmas Eve. Thankfully Eric (one if the owners) opened for a little bit. We just had their beers as the kitchen was closed. We only had his beers (2 IPA's, cream ale, porter and amber) and they were all deliciously smooth. We will be back to try the food as it sounds good. read more

The beers here are delicioso. My wife and I just happened to find this brewer on yelp, and I'm so glad we went. I ordered a stout (can't remember the name) and it was really good.
