Celeste was wonderful! Cute and quiet beers on a sunny Wednesday afternoon. What's not to love?

The staff was nice, but experience was ok at best. I think they had good intentions but they were understaffed. Food was mediocre but pricey. I ordered the pub burger that came with chips, (not French fries, a bag of kettle chips), and coleslaw. It was a creamy slaw sauce that was drenching the oversized pieces of cabbage. They were nice to my dog , gave him treats, had bed pads for dogs (very nice option). However I noticed they didn't serve beer from tap, instead they were dispensing into a pitcher, then pouring into glass - not sure what that was about. The place next door was hopping and I ended up going there for fries and another beer. read more

Came by for some drinks on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered their boozy root beer. This is made with their own nonalcoholic root beer and grape based liquor. Drink tasted great and I'll definitely order it again. Weird thing is their pricing. $14.53+tax for their boozy root beer. $9.29+tax for a pint of their IPA. Strange before tax pricing. Staff was friendly and welcoming. This is a small place with most of the seating outside. read more

Wonderful experience today at Pismo Brewing Company. Super unpretentious, casual / pub atmosphere. Purple hair waitress (I think her name was Celest or something like that...I can't believe I forgot already) took such great care of us. She's the best! If you want some excellent brews and hard sodas with some decent bites and service that will dote on you and genuinely care for you, this place won't disappoint. We came here after a morning of ATVing and all of the staff were so great! They loved our pup and even brought him a treat! I had a flight so I could try a variety of options. We also shared the pepperoni and cheese stuffed soft pretzel and the fried pickles. The pretzel is one of their top sellers for a reason! It was nice and cheesy and came with a marinara for a dip. The pickles were spears, but sliced extra thin - I think this is my new way of enjoying fried pickles because it stays crispy! read more

We had just arrived to Pismo after a good 3.5 hour drive. We went in thinking the place would be busy, but it was pretty dead. The staff were nice, but when taking order the waitress was literally walking away before we were even done ordering. My husband had the IPA but said it tasted watered down and not the very best beer he had. I had a hard cider which was poured straight out of a can. The food was okay. The pretzel sticks were really good though. But if you're looking for a brewery type ambience with good drinks, this ain't it. read more

Where is the 6th and 7th star? Gabe is a great beertender. Knew his products well. Was able to point me to the beer that aligned with my preferred style. Great conversations while I enjoyed my beer (and then a 2nd!). Walked out with a bag of beers to bring home and enjoy. For a beach area, I thought the pricing was fair, more of a locals hangout than a tourist trap. read more

Stopped by this brewery on walk. Cute cozy friendly place. Cathy was amazing and knows her stuff. We had the house special and it didn't disappoint. GF likes IPA so she had the special that included peanut butter but you could not taste it at all. She totally enjoyed it. I had the Hard Root beer which had a mixture of cinnamon, whisky, and root beer. It's was a bit on sweet side but good. It's a sneak up on you drink. Thanks Cathy for the liquid lunch. The place is cute and has a nice outdoor area to sit, it is dog friendly. The food is all cooked either in a microwave or an air fryer, they have no grill and no deep fryer so all the food is dry and bland. I honestly don't even know why they try to serve food. The people that work there are so nice but the food was less than good. The beers are OK, the only one that was delicious was in a can. The beer that they have on tap is not very good. read more

Cool place! Came in to have a drink and watch the March Madness games-- they didn't have too many TV's but we made due and sat outside and enjoyed the sun. Everyone was very friendly and joking around with us so that made the experience fun. I got one of their alcoholic sodas which I've never tried before but it was so good! Also got their onion rings which were BOMB, wish I got a picture before they were inhaled. Definitely check this place out! read more

The beer is great, and I just love the soft pretzels !! Celest was the best waitress!! She gave our dogs treats, water AND a blanket for them to sit on....how cool was that !! We come to Pismo a few times a year, and we most always make our way to The Pismo Brewing for flights of beer, soft hot pretzels and the great service!! Really loved this place. From the moment we walked in the staff was helpful and friendly. They are dog friendly. Thanks to the staff for being so nice to our dog and even giving her a blanket to lay on. Parking might be a little tricky since it's street parking and it gets crowded. We had some fish and chips to snack on and they were delicious. We will definitely be returning if we are in town. read more

So, I'm typically pretty generous with my ratings/reviews so I think 3 stars is about right here. The place is very small with just a couple of tables indoors and maybe 5-6 seats at the bar. The outdoor seating is better and it's Pismo so the weather is great for outdoor dining. It was clean with some music pumping from the bar area. The menu is about what you'd expect from a brewery but it's almost entirely frozen food as far as I can tell. There were 7 of us and we all ordered something different. My son ordered a "flatbread pizza" which looked and tasted like something out of a microwave or a bad school lunch. My daughter ordered chicken strips and they were so tough she only at 1. She shared a couple with my son since his pizza was gross and he o it at the breading off one of them because the chicken was so tough to chew. I ordered a burger and I swear it was a generic frozen patty from the freezer aisle at Walmart. Tasteless, bland, and just mediocre. The best thing ordered was my wife's nacho plate. The pulled pork was a bit salty but the nacho cheese tamed that a bit and the chips were fresh and crispy even with the toppings. Would order these again for sure. Service was good but we were the only table seated the entire time we were there while other businesses around us were heavy with traffic. This should have been a sign when we walked up but the overall ratings from other guests made it sound like a great spot. Most breweries have at least average food to pair with their beer offerings but Pismo Brewery was below my expectations. read more

Visiting for a weekend and brand new to the area, we found Pismo Brewing and we are so happy we walked in to this little gem!! We were greeted immediately with a warmth and familiarity we didn't expect as newcomers. Terry and the team took such good care of us offering different options and we ended up ordering the red eye and the boozy root beer! Delicious is an understatement and we had fun convos with them while we sipped on their spacious dog friendly patio! They even brought our dog a fresh bowl of water and some treats & gave him pets! so bad. so bad i have to give a review. i usually only review to rave about favorites, but if it helps someone avoid a bad time then here it is. comically bad. this has bugged me since thanksgiving weekend. stopped here on trek from socal to norcal. time for one pismo beach experience. chose this place. got the flight of 6 3oz tasters. tried every one. swallowed maybe 4 ounces total. the pumpkin was so bad i never recovered. my friend and i both ordered burgers. he got 2 bun tops. i got 2 bun bottoms. that would have been hilarious and we could have laughed together if the server acknowledged it and owned it, but they were oblivious. my other friends pizza was forgotten. just forgotten until we asked after finishing the burgers, then they lied about it being almost ready, microwaved a frozen Red Baron and no apology. we also had to send the lemonade back. it was the most unnatural taste i've ever experienced. like detergent, but with concentrated mountain dew baja blast syrup and flat tonic water. this experience was so bad it was comical, but not funny, and not forgotten. this happened 4 months ago and hasnt left my memory. giving 1 star for location and employing the those who no one else would hire. everyone deserves a chance. read more

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day at Pismo Brewing on Monday! Gabe was our server and again gave us great service and was very friendly to my wife and I. There were lots of people there and all were having a great fun time on the patio and inside too! We had the new pizza pretzel sticks and they were so good! Comes with marinara sauce too! The owner Melissa showed up and greeted us with a smile and a hug! She and the staff are so pleasant and we really enjoyed the green beers and even green house lemonade! This is the place to go if you want great drinks and great food! Super dog friendly too! Make it a must stop when in Pismo! You won't be disappointed! read more

If you are a fan of breweries and are in pismo, this place is a MUST for a visit. We came by in august on a Thursday, so there was just one other guy buying a drink. But honestly I do love a place when it isn't super crowded. There is both inside and outside seating. It was nice out, so we chose a table out on the patio. I went with their taster tray, which is their version of a flight. I got six tasters of their ales and my fave was their 12% ale that was their special and a boysenberry. We ordered: fish tacos, waffle fries, and fried pickles. Honestly, I've had better fried pickles but my husband LOVED the fish tacos! If I could give 0 stars I would. We decided to try this place out. 1 it was empty and 2. It was a brewery. As we walked in we were handed a menu and a king list of beers that were out. (It's a brewery and you mainly have canned beers ) We ordered food and sat down. I really wanted a soda so I went to nearest restaurant and grabbed an ice soda (they don't offer fountain drinks) As I returned and sat with my family this lady with colored hair told me I couldn't have it, I explained it was only soda and I could get a receipt from where I got it from. She was rude about it so we asked for our stuff to go ( I honestly lost my appetite and wanted a refund but did not want to hassle with ore confrontation) We grabbed our stuff she packed in grocery store bags and we ate outside on a bench. (Mind you I had a 1 year old and 2mo old) I am beyond disappointed in this restaurant and the fact it was empty I now see why, sadly your customer service drives people away. Oh and as we were leaving she made another comment my son had a chocolate milk and she said "I didn't see that or else I would have said something sooner" This place is ridiculous, never returning! read more

This place is located next door to Hoagies restaurant. After eating dinner, we decided to give Pismo brewing a try. We stopped by here on a Wednesday night around 7PM. From the outside, this place looks pretty cool and has a Pismo vibe to it. The outdoor seating is larger than the inside bar area. They also have a merchandise section off to the left side. The bartender who helped us was happy, friendly and promptly served us. We ordered a couple of their home brewed beers and we were surprised to see it being poured from a bottle and not the tap. The bottles were removed from a fridge and poured into a cold glass. Unfortunately, the beer was pretty warm and not very cold at all. Not sure if it is a refrigeration problem or if this is their intention. The beer was decent tasting, but I felt like it would have tasted better if it was served colder. For me, this was a cool one time stop. I would most likely try other places than come here again. read more

Stopped by here while on our trip up the Central Coast. We were so glad we did. The owner was very kind. But, the bartender that helped us out was the sweetest & very attentive. Had an Indian Wells hard soda that had 10% alc. & tasted like juice! It was sooo good & really snuck up on you. The root beer here is delicious! We even bought a 6 pack to take home. The pretzels, which we forgot to take pics of b/c they got inhaled so quickly, were awesome. Stop by if you get a chance. It's just a few steps down from the pier. read more
