Boozy root beer and a taster
Eric F.

Came by for some drinks on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered their boozy root beer. This is made with their own nonalcoholic root beer and grape based liquor. Drink tasted great and I'll definitely order it again. Weird thing is their pricing. $14.53+tax for their boozy root beer. $9.29+tax for a pint of their IPA. Strange before tax pricing. Staff was friendly and welcoming. This is a small place with most of the seating outside.

Wonderful experience today at Pismo Brewing Company. Super unpretentious, casual / pub atmosphere. Purple hair waitress (I think her name was Celest or something like that...I can't believe I forgot already) took such great care of us. She's the best! If you want some excellent brews and hard sodas with some decent bites and service that will dote on you and genuinely care for you, this place won't disappoint. Food is pretty good, but the service and atmosphere is top notch!

We came here after a morning of ATVing and all of the staff were so great! They loved our pup and even brought him a treat! I had a flight so I could try a variety of options. We also shared the pepperoni and cheese stuffed soft pretzel and the fried pickles. The pretzel is one of their top sellers for a reason! It was nice and cheesy and came with a marinara for a dip. The pickles were spears, but sliced extra thin - I think this is my new way of enjoying fried pickles because it stays crispy!

We had just arrived to Pismo after a good 3.5 hour drive. We went in thinking the place would be busy, but it was pretty dead. The staff were nice, but when taking order the waitress was literally walking away before we were even done ordering. My husband had the IPA but said it tasted watered down and not the very best beer he had. I had a hard cider which was poured straight out of a can. The food was okay. The pretzel sticks were really good though. But if you're looking for a brewery type ambience with good drinks, this ain't it.

Where is the 6th and 7th star? Gabe is a great beertender. Knew his products well. Was able to point me to the beer that aligned with my preferred style. Great conversations while I enjoyed my beer (and then a 2nd!). Walked out with a bag of beers to bring home and enjoy. For a beach area, I thought the pricing was fair, more of a locals hangout than a tourist trap.

Stopped by this brewery on walk. Cute cozy friendly place. Cathy was amazing and knows her stuff. We had the house special and it didn't disappoint. GF likes IPA so she had the special that included peanut butter but you could not taste it at all. She totally enjoyed it. I had the Hard Root beer which had a mixture of cinnamon, whisky, and root beer. It's was a bit on sweet side but good. It's a sneak up on you drink. Thanks Cathy for the liquid lunch. Will be back for that Orange beer special.

Really loved this place. From the moment we walked in the staff was helpful and friendly. They are dog friendly. Thanks to the staff for being so nice to our dog and even giving her a blanket to lay on. Parking might be a little tricky since it's street parking and it gets crowded. We had some fish and chips to snack on and they were delicious. We will definitely be returning if we are in town.

My girlfriend and I stopped by Pismo Brewery, and Valerie was our awesome bartender! She was incredibly friendly, and filled us in on all the best spots in the area. When we asked about ciders, she suggested trying their delicious selection - the lemon ginger and rosé were perfect choices based on our preferences. We definitely plan on returning to visit her again. Valerie was the best!

Who puts whole cut cherry tomatoes and red onions?!? If you love watered down beer, or you love water, or you love beer that taste like water then you would love the beer here. The only good beer was the whiskey barrel beer cause it tasted like whiskey. Lastly the nachos were bad, just plain cold nacho cheese. It was very sad. I wouldn't come here again even if I was paid. This place gets a -6

Valerie and Sonya were the best. So friendly and entertaining. Can't wait to come here again. Thank you for a great time

So, I'm typically pretty generous with my ratings/reviews so I think 3 stars is about right here. The place is very small with just a couple of tables indoors and maybe 5-6 seats at the bar. The outdoor seating is better and it's Pismo so the weather is great for outdoor dining. It was clean with some music pumping from the bar area. The menu is about what you'd expect from a brewery but it's almost entirely frozen food as far as I can tell. There were 7 of us and we all ordered something different. My son ordered a "flatbread pizza" which looked and tasted like something out of a microwave or a bad school lunch. My daughter ordered chicken strips and they were so tough she only at 1. She shared a couple with my son since his pizza was gross and he o it at the breading off one of them because the chicken was so tough to chew. I ordered a burger and I swear it was a generic frozen patty from the freezer aisle at Walmart. Tasteless, bland, and just mediocre. The best thing ordered was my wife's nacho plate. The pulled pork was a bit salty but the nacho cheese tamed that a bit and the chips were fresh and crispy even with the toppings. Would order these again for sure. Service was good but we were the only table seated the entire time we were there while other businesses around us were heavy with traffic. This should have been a sign when we walked up but the overall ratings from other guests made it sound like a great spot. Most breweries have at least average food to pair with their beer offerings but Pismo Brewery was below my expectations.

I don't recommend if you're like me and only like light beers

Seemed to close early, 8pm, for a brewery, but I guess it's a quieter area. Arrived past 7, hoping we can still get food and we were still good for food and beer! Ms. Kristie was so efficient and friendly and awesome, hustling back and forth from reception to seating and dropping by to check on all the patrons. Like a one woman show! I went for the Peanut butter falcon since I like a good brown beer. The peanut butter was initially nice, but it kinda became tiring as the sips went along, since peanut butter seemed a bit much over the beer. Got wife the German Pilsner and that was excellent! Smooth with a hint of malty sweetness too! I am thinking maybe the Lawn Order blonde ale is probably going to be great as well, but too full from late lunch to consume more than one. For food, went with the birria melt and the salmon salad. Birria melt had some awesome authentic flavors to it! Kid devoured it with the consomme. I enjoyed a quarter of it, but too full, so worked out perfect since kid didn't want to share more either, lol. Salmon salad was perfect! Pan seared on both side for that wonderful crust yet tender goodness. Salad dressing with cherry and almond slices made this salad so enjoyable while staying lighter. Was not expecting such salmon from a brewery, excellent food here! Locals seem to love this place too until closing time I guess, since a group that seemed to be bar hopping arrived exceited when we got there too:)

We were seated outside immediately, and the staff even rearranged tables to comfortably accommodate our group. Our server was friendly, checked on us frequently throughout the meal, happily brought to-go boxes when we were finished, and was very accommodating to both us and Bailey. She also brought Bailey a water bowl after we asked, which we appreciated. One thing that stood out was that we weren't initially offered waters for the table. It felt a little unusual that each of us had to ask individually before receiving water, especially since that's typically one of the first things brought to the table. My mom and aunt enjoyed using the self-pour beer wall, where you load a beer card and pay by the ounce, my brother ordered a soda, and I had a cocktail. It just seemed like a missed opportunity to make a better first impression. The food was definitely the highlight. We started with the giant Bavarian pretzel, which was a great appetizer for sharing. The only thing we would have changed was having a little more cheese sauce because the pretzel is so large. My brother and I split the Cowboy Mac & Cheese, and paired with the pretzel it ended up being the perfect amount of food for both of us. My mom enjoyed her burger and fries, and my aunt's birria tacos looked incredible with the consommé for dipping. Everything we ordered was flavorful, well prepared, and generously portioned. After dinner, we loved being able to take Bailey for a walk thanks to the nearby beach access, which made for a really nice way to end the evening. My only real disappointment was the patio layout. The ocean views are mostly reserved for the indoor dining room, while the main patio faces Highway 101. There are only a couple of outdoor tables with an ocean view, but they don't have umbrellas. Since it was a warm afternoon, we had to choose between sitting in the sun with a view or sitting in the shade without one, so we opted for comfort. It feels like adding a few umbrellas to those ocean-facing tables would make a huge difference and allow more guests to actually enjoy the coastal setting. Overall, we had a great meal with friendly service, good food, and a welcoming atmosphere for Bailey. With a few small improvements to the patio and a stronger first impression by offering waters to the table, this would easily be a 5-star experience.

I use Yelp regularly when deciding where to eat and what dishes I'd like to try, so I was surprised to see that many of the photos listed for SeaVenture were quite old (some 8-12 years old). I'm happy to share some more recent photos of the menu items we enjoyed. We were seated in a large room that looked like it was designed for bigger parties and gatherings. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Our waiter, Chris, went above and beyond by turning on both big-screen TVs: one showing the World Cup and the other showing the Spurs and Knicks basketball game, which definitely made the guys in our party happy! Everyone enjoyed their food, the SeaVenture dish didn't come out to the table hot, the sauce was warm. The restaurant has a beautiful ocean view; unfortunately, the weather was overcast the weekend we visited, so we didn't get the full experience of the view. We would definitely come back again and look forward to trying more from the menu!

A must-stop, in Pismo Beach!…read more Every time we return to Pismo Beach, we have to make a stop at Zorros for breakfast (they are open for lunch and dinner too)! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Eric at the door -- and it's always nice when the first person you see makes you feel welcome. This visit, I made sure to take photos of the food, and we also left with a bag full of their homemade salsa and hot sauce.
