Lucas was our server and he was attentive and helpful. Totally appreciate him and the service. We had a lot of questions because the menu doesn't make much sense. Is it California? Is it southern? Is it Asian? Where are the fresh, non fried, local ingredient options? I'd have ordered more of the shared plates if there was something veggie forward (think carrots, radishes,green beans) and had less ingredients that are unrecognizable or give the essence of heat (is it Japanese/korean/thai who knows?!?) The grit cakes were good although they lacked a textural or fresh component beyond garnish. I'd love to see them replaced with something like a curry arancini or kimchi mac & cheese balls. The cauliflower steak was great, simple, pretty to look at and had a nice composition of texture and flavor. No notes. The purple sweet potatoes that accompany some of the entrees were excellent. But, while cooked nicely, the salmon dish was underwhelming. It could benefit from an added component like collard greens to cut the sweetness. Didn't order the chicken Milanese although it was recommended for those who don't have a spice tolerance. It just simply seemed too boring for what was supposed to be a fun upscale night out. Would love to see a yuzu sauce included to jazz it up. The sober spritz tasted like orange soda--too syrupy sweet and could benefit from a hit of acid like adding mimosa vinegar to it and more soda water. Give it a round ice cube with dried flowers inside and then you'd have a sober instagram hit on your hands. Finally, I didn't get around to trying the cocktails, they look fun though. Since it's the "only full bar on the 46" it would be really nice to have suggested cocktail pairings on the next iteration of the menu. There is some serious talent in the kitchen and on the team at The Anderson so I'm confident in recommending others check it out. But, I hope that it evolves quickly and they tap into the abundant creative resources, fresh ingredients, and flavor profiles that are right at their finger tips moving forward. Bring in irresistible and farm to table shared plates paired with cocktails/mocktails and I'd be there on the patio every week.

The service was great. Check in and check out was a breeze. They were very informative and helpful with answering our questions and directing us where the rooms, pool, gym and restaurant are and the times they are available. It's stylish without being too casual, funky, or extravagant bougie. And the pricing is significantly less expensive than other local hotels (at least during my visit). It was super close to Highway 101. The property is under the Choice Hotels brand with 132 rooms stretching across 3 floors. They do not offer daily room cleaning, it's offered on the 3rd day. But this non daily room cleaning is the new standard for most all hotels due to the staffing shortages. However if you request a room cleaning, they will oblige. I had no complaints about the room. Luved the styling and decor. I didn't hear our neighbors, not sure if we had any or if it was that sound proof. The AC was working perfectly. Lots of charging ports. Ample lighting. Desk and side chair with the two beds. Mini fridge. TV. Safe box. Coffee maker with pods, tea bags, cups, sugar and creamer. Armoire. Dresser. Shower water temps and pressure was great. They use Pur soap brand soap, shampoo and conditioner. Pur is known as a crafted soap using minimal plant based ingredients tending to be hypoallergenic. It was a nice feel to the skin with little to no scent. Amenities: Outdoor heated swimming pool. Outdoor lawn- big enough to host events and no dogs allowed on the lawn. Fire pits in various sizes. 12 EV charging stations- free to use by hotel guests. Fitness center. State of the art meeting room/banquet room. In house restaurant and bar in the lobby which is open to the public.

So naturally, I came home, poured a glass, and started researching the wineries afterward like the responsible citizen I am. Santellan Vineyards immediately stood out for feeling warm, family-centered, and genuinely connected to the kind of relaxed hospitality that still makes Paso Robles wine country feel special. Even through the event itself, you could feel the collaborative spirit behind the Pleasant Valley Wine Trail wineries -- people supporting one another instead of competing for attention. I especially appreciate that the PVWT wineries also help support local agricultural scholarships and education efforts throughout the community. Beautiful wines are wonderful. Beautiful people matter more. A genuinely lovely evening all around, and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again at the Under the Estrella Sky Charity Dinner in August.

I especially want to recognize the young woman working the Starbucks/food service counter in the lobby during our visit. She was the only employee handling the entire operation and somehow still managed to provide friendly, professional, 5-star service while nonstop guests continued ordering food and drinks for hours. She never stopped hustling and kept everything moving with a great attitude. Honestly, the fact that one person was left to run the entire cafe by herself feels like a management staffing issue, not an employee issue. Management should make sure the cafe is properly staffed, and if someone calls in sick or doesn't show up, leadership should step in to help rather than leaving one employee to carry the entire workload alone. That said, our cafe experience remained positive largely because of her work ethic and professionalism. She deserves recognition for holding it all together and taking care of guests under what looked like a very stressful situation. I only wish I had gotten her name.

It was extremely loud every time someone would get off the elevator. Our room was also on the back of the building by the highway and the road got pretty loud. Luckily I had my sound machine which helped a little but it was still pretty loud. The room itself was clean but they only gave 3 towels for a room with 2 beds. I feel like 4 should be the minimum. The beds were also so hard and the pillows were not good. We did not sleep well. They have a nice big open lobby and a bistro that we didn't go to. They have water in the lobby but it tasted weird. Parking is confusing because the front desk never asked if I had a car. She gave me a parking pass in the stack of check in stuff but I didn't notice it. The next morning I got a notice on my windshield that I didn't check in my car. When I went to talk to her about it she said she would take care of it. I still don't understand if parking is free, or not. I saw QR codes outside on signs to pay for parking.
