You can take potshots at them and complain about the things you didn't like or you can say wow there's been some pretty cool events here, and I have enjoyed a lot of beautiful art, beautiful flowers, incredible animals, incredible stage shows, average stage shows, monster trucks, big name bands, and more over the years. The commercial buildings often have more kind of products than a good Fair deserves. The FFA and the kids showing off their animals is always great fun. I love going to the sheepdog trials, anyway the fairground has all kinds of other events as well that have to do with beer and wine and cars and and all kind of paraphernalia. It's a good Fairgrounds they keep improving it every year oh, it's just part of where you go when you're around here

When…read more15,000 to 21,000 people are expected to attend, opening only one entry gate for the event was not adequate. Then, to make matters worse, the event allowed others to pay for entry to just the venders (to be in proximity of the music). I'm not sure how many thousands of additional people that decision caused, but their addition made the single gate issue even worse. I've never waited 40 minutes (and some over an hour) to gain admission to the fairgrounds in my 21 years of living here. The high heat of 90-100 degree temps made that a miserable wait and frankly dangerous for some. For the extra profits gained by allowing non-concert admission to the venue, the site should have hired the extra staff necessary to man all the entry gates. Also, it would have been great to have different and exclusive entry for those people with actual concert tickets, vs. those only seeking admission to the fairgrounds. One final complaint: there was only one vender open that sold hard alcohol beverages. This too caused long lines. So, after waiting 40 or longer minutes just to gain entry, you had to wait another 15-20 minutes just to get a cocktail. I hope if there is ever another 'pre-fair' concert, it is better managed than this event.

McLintock's down stairs the ability to have a meal catered is easy, and with the kitchen area in the back, other caterers can do good as well. Being on the second floor with the small elevator is a bit of a traffic jam, and parking in downtown Paso around the area can be tight, however it is well worth it. The stage at one end of the room works good for entertainment of that head table so book it I say. I have been to Christmas parties, and a wedding here and it has worked well for every event.

When we checked in and got to our room, the property felt completely empty. We were the only guests we could see, which made the whole place feel eerie and uncomfortable. We walked around the entire property and saw no one. There were only three cars in the parking lot, including ours and the front desk employee's car, yet we were told they were "fully booked" when we asked about moving to a larger room. The room itself was not great. The bed is extremely hard and squeaks with every movement. On top of that, the AC does not work. We told the front desk before leaving for dinner about the AC and were told someone would come fix it. When we returned, the room was even hotter than before & it felt like walking into a sauna. The windows don't open, so the only way to get air in is by opening the doors, which obviously lets bugs in. The "free wine tasting" was also frustrating. At check-in, we were told that we would get complimentary tastings at the tasting room. When we went to the tasting room, we were told they were "too busy" for tastings and that we would need to buy glasses of wine instead. We didn't want to make a scene, so we ended up purchasing a bottle and a glass, which came out to $85 & we never received the tastings we were told were included with our stay. Overall, this has been a terrible experience. Between the uncomfortable room, broken AC, lack of guests/staff on the property, and being denied the complimentary tasting we were promised, I would not recommend staying here. Do not let the 4.6 rating fool you.

I especially want to recognize the young woman working the Starbucks/food service counter in the lobby during our visit. She was the only employee handling the entire operation and somehow still managed to provide friendly, professional, 5-star service while nonstop guests continued ordering food and drinks for hours. She never stopped hustling and kept everything moving with a great attitude. Honestly, the fact that one person was left to run the entire cafe by herself feels like a management staffing issue, not an employee issue. Management should make sure the cafe is properly staffed, and if someone calls in sick or doesn't show up, leadership should step in to help rather than leaving one employee to carry the entire workload alone. That said, our cafe experience remained positive largely because of her work ethic and professionalism. She deserves recognition for holding it all together and taking care of guests under what looked like a very stressful situation. I only wish I had gotten her name.

It was extremely loud every time someone would get off the elevator. Our room was also on the back of the building by the highway and the road got pretty loud. Luckily I had my sound machine which helped a little but it was still pretty loud. The room itself was clean but they only gave 3 towels for a room with 2 beds. I feel like 4 should be the minimum. The beds were also so hard and the pillows were not good. We did not sleep well. They have a nice big open lobby and a bistro that we didn't go to. They have water in the lobby but it tasted weird. Parking is confusing because the front desk never asked if I had a car. She gave me a parking pass in the stack of check in stuff but I didn't notice it. The next morning I got a notice on my windshield that I didn't check in my car. When I went to talk to her about it she said she would take care of it. I still don't understand if parking is free, or not. I saw QR codes outside on signs to pay for parking.

It's crispy, crunchy and full of flavor. The home fries were crunchy and satisfying, too. The breakfast poutine is what brought us in for brunch, and it delivered! The curry gravy has layers of flavors and made me want to lick the plate. And the cheese curds had so much cheese pull I had to cut them. It's the kind of dish that makes you continue to think about it and crave it all day long. Then came the hoe cakes which had a lacy texture that was irresistible. The lightly sweet saltiness of the butter pairs so well with miso. I couldn't finish them so I brought them home and they were just as good the second day. The biggest surprise came last: don't sleep on the overnight oats! Warm spices mix with creamy texture and perfect pops of crunchy granola. But, while cooked nicely, the salmon dish was underwhelming. It could benefit from an added component like collard greens to cut the sweetness. Didn't order the chicken Milanese although it was recommended for those who don't have a spice tolerance. It just simply seemed too boring for what was supposed to be a fun upscale night out. Would love to see a yuzu sauce included to jazz it up. The sober spritz tasted like orange soda--too syrupy sweet and could benefit from a hit of acid like adding mimosa vinegar to it and more soda water. Give it a round ice cube with dried flowers inside and then you'd have a sober instagram hit on your hands. Finally, I didn't get around to trying the cocktails, they look fun though. Since it's the "only full bar on the 46" it would be really nice to have suggested cocktail pairings on the next iteration of the menu. There is some serious talent in the kitchen and on the team at The Anderson so I'm confident in recommending others check it out. But, I hope that it evolves quickly and they tap into the abundant creative resources, fresh ingredients, and flavor profiles that are right at their finger tips moving forward. It is conveniently close to all the wineries in the area. The property is newly built, opening in Fall of 2025. Free electric vehicle hook up also! Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable. We used the pool/hot tub. I peeped in the exercise room plenty of activities for all. We didn't dine at the property, but the bar was fully stocked and I did enjoy a delicious Old Fashion one evening. My only complaint: as we stayed 4 nights there was no room cleaning and we ran out of towels and toilet paper. We were informed by staff rooms were cleaned every 3 days. Our room was never straightened or checked on and when we ran out of toilet paper I was informed by staff: "please come to the front desk as I am the only person on duty presently." I believe that this hotel would benefit by placing a placard regarding the checks on rooms, refill on towels/toilet paper and emptying of trash cans so guests are aware of the situation. Overall, we enjoyed our visit & would likely stay here again!

We did a tasting of their entire offering, which lead to the purchase of 3 bottles wine, merch, and a great time. I'd highly recommend giving them a visit. Amazing service and great wines!
