We recently held our second event at The Anderson in Paso Robles, and once again it was a wonderful experience. This gathering was a 12th-century themed history lesson on the Knights Templar, and the castle setting could not have been more perfect for the occasion. The room we used was beautifully prepared, and the tech equipment worked perfectly for our PowerPoint presentation, which made everything run very smoothly. The charcuterie boards were also a lovely touch--beautifully displayed and more than enough for a light lunch while fitting the theme nicely. The service throughout the event was prompt, friendly, and accommodating, which made the entire experience easy and enjoyable for our group. We truly appreciate the team at The Anderson and look forward to hosting future Knights Templar gatherings there again!

Had to see what all the hype was about so I Took my mother here for Mother's Day . Let me start off with the menu . It is very limited most of the menu is fried food so not very healthy . If you're gluten free your choices are limited . If you are vegan you have two choices. We split a shrimp appetizer and yes it was fried it was good though . Then we split the grit appetizer fried again wasn't that great . I had the cauliflower steak vegan dish it was very good . My mother had the special French toast with fried chicken . Not sure about the combination but she seemed to like it . I personally was not impressed with it . We don't d try the bread pudding with matcha sauce I thought it was alright my mother thought it was a little dry and she was not sure why the heated it up so she pretty disappointed in that . The reason why I have low stars was because we had so many gnats and flys around our food I was losing my appetite . We did mention it to the server but it went the wayside . I would recommend if you sit inside do not sit anywhere near the doors to the outside . Two people in our party had two of the non alcoholic drinks one was with mint leaves it tastes like a mojito without the alcohol it was really good . The other one was some kind of orange hangover drink that was good for being non alcoholic.. one thing I thought was pretty cool was how many mixed non alcoholic drinks they had for the ones that still want a fun taste but without the alcohol. They had the same with beers too . They did have a really good mixed drink menu but a lot of the mixed drinks are in very small glasses with a higher price point .The atmosphere is always great and be sure to checkout the alligator under the bridge ( not real of course but sure looks it )

We recently hosted an event at The Anderson, and it exceeded our expectations in every way! The venue itself is absolutely stunning - such a unique yet central setting that instantly elevates the entire experience and leaves a lasting impression on guests. What truly made the event seamless, though, was the events team. From start to finish, they were incredibly professional, responsive, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went perfectly. They handled details with ease, communicated clearly, and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. If you're looking for a venue that combines a memorable atmosphere with a top-notch team behind the scenes, The Anderson is a fantastic choice. We would absolutely host another event here!

This restaurant came highly recommended, and it absolutely lived up to the praise. When we arrived, the setting was lovely, and we were warmly welcomed by Michelle. She was gracious, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We especially appreciated the personalized place card waiting for us with our reservation. At first, my wife and her friend were a bit unsure as they reviewed the menu, as they didn't immediately see options that appealed to them. However, that quickly changed. Our friend ordered the asparagus salad and croquettes, while my wife chose the rosemary garlic grilled prawns and roasted heirloom carrots. Both dishes completely exceeded expectations--they were blown away by how flavorful and well-prepared everything was. Over the course of our trip, we visited many wineries and enjoyed several excellent meals throughout the Central Coast. Yet by the end of it, both my wife and her friend agreed that this dinner stood out as the most memorable--truly the highlight among many great experiences. Thank you for starting our trip on such a high note.

Then, of course, one would need to thank the bar for their drinks and presentations, which are awesome. You need a bit of showmanship to perform and serve at a place like this. Ok, here we go. Tucked away on a back street in Paso lies this interesting and very amazing venue. I would have never imagined in my wildest dreams going to a place like this, let alone what was inside. To be honest, I at first felt like I was entering the twilight zone, the first time I came here. In the back of my mind, I was thinking, " Is this what it felt like going to something like this during prohibition times? Now, in this post, I will not share all about your entrance, etc., into this place, as that takes the fun out of it, but I must add that if you are in the Paso area, this is a must on your list. Let's go back and recreate yesteryear, a very intimate and very exclusive, club-like atmosphere. You never know who is watching you; it's all that mystery. Does it feel a bit like the game CLUE"? You tell me. :-) Just remember this: speak easy, abide by their rules, speak quietly, and have fun!

I can see why The 1122 is considered to be in the top 50 speakeasy bars. A must visit and cool experience in Paso Robles.

Maybe it is because we are watching "Yellowstone" on TV, but I was craving the flavor of the Old West, which can still be found in many places around SLO. We returned to Pig Iron Restaurant in Templeton, where we had dined about three years ago when they very first opened up! it was kind of bare and spacious our first time there. It was great to see how they have added to the space and now have room for multiple functions! There's a huge outdoor dining patio with a coffee pick up bar. There's a an indoor dining area where you order your food at a counter. There's also the Club Car Bar with its own separate room. I remembered that Pig Iron sando was good. My husband ordered the Pig Iron. I went for two smoked chicken, Cowboy Tacos, and our friend got a burger. We topped it all off with onion rings. It's the kind of place that you order at a counter in the Merchandise room, then take a buzzer to your table. We commandeered a large booth in the fairly small dining room. It has maybe eight or 10 tables. There is are a couple lounge chairs by the fireplace, which is very cozy on a cool day. By the time our food was ready, the dining room was full. That Pig Iron pulled pork sando is worth the trip! The meat is super tender, and the sauce is piquant and not too spicy. Topped with cole slaw, it is a perfect lunchtime meal. Burger was also nicely done kind of a smashed burger. The tacos were aptly named Cowboy Tacos, as I felt that they were gringo tacos. They were bland, since they didn't have sauce on them and the chicken was in tiny chunks and not shredded. The onion rings were crispy and fun to dunk in the Ranch dressing. We hunkered down cowboy style and enjoyed our meal, talking about about outer space and the moon trip while enjoying our food in the cozy ambience of an evocative historic setting!
