Five stars for being my soup dealer. Passero's is my weekday soup destination. (Wish they were open weekends.) They have lots of coffee, but I can't speak to it as I've only had coffee here twice, long ago. Soup-wise, they usually have at least three types ready to go. Choose your preference, pick a size, and pick a side (bread or Utz chips). I usually get soup to go, and chips (because Utz). They're open early (6:30am), but soup's isn't ready until 8am. Soup flavors rotate. If you see them, my favorites are their shrimp and corn chowder, and their Thai soup. There are multiple Passero's, but I've only been to this one. (Been coming here since 2023!) Wonderful coffee! Delicious soups! The shop is well lit, clean and welcoming. It's a great place to meet friends, read and/or get work done. However, the best thing about Passero's is the staff. Every time I stop by, I feel like I am visiting with friends who happen to serve great coffee and snacks. read more

I was excited to get their Mexican Hot Chocolate but it was very runny and didn't have enough spices in it. It sort of tasted like drinking swiss miss with a bit of cinnamon in it. The cup had the drink all over it and the barista didn't care to clean it up. Ambiance is nice. read more

Great location! We stopped in a couple times for a couple meetings during a recent work trip. There's staff were so nice and friendly and helped me figure out what I wanted to order! Lots of tables and places to sit so I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. read more

Conveniently located near Jefferson Hospital and popped in here for a treat after an appointment. Was craving a breakfast sandwhich and glad they had one! Place was very clean and cute. I had never been here before, and they had a fairly expansive food and drink menu. Service was decent; it wasn't very busy and I feel like I got my food and drink relatively quickly. Decent mix of ages inside / time people were there. Keep an eye on the hours because they sometimes close early. I liked that they had seasonal drink options! I'm a big fan of fall and tried out the cinnamon roll chai. As a big chai fan, I was disappointed with the drink not because it was bad but just because it was very sweet and very cinnamon roll-y. That's definitely on me; it was definitely made as advertised! Great coffee, my latte tasted great. I ordered a grilled cheese with tomato and was extremely disappointed, though. Cheddar cheese was flavorless, and bread was pressed in a panini with absolutely no butter. A little would've gone a long way. It was 17 something plus a tip, which was $21 and some change. Cozy cafe with some seating though not a lot. Got the Port Richmond panini, which was delicious. Also liked the iced mocha. It gets busy here around breakfast and lunchtime so there may be a bit of a line and wait - be prepared! Pay attention to the times as they don't serve breakfast past a certain time and won't start lunch service until 12pm. Service was otherwise quick and attentive. read more

This is an example of one bad experience negating good experiences earlier. Have been staying in the hotel in same building as the coffee shop for the past week as I have recovered from difficult eye surgery at nearby Wills Eye Hospital. Nearly every morning I have gone down (with big eye patch and all) to get coffee and a breakfast sandwich and other items. Helped cheer me up. This morning, I had additional/final surgery to wrap up things. After waking from anesthesia in the recovery room and returning to the hotel, I immediately went into Passero's to order coffee and a breakfast sandwich to take up to my room. Eye bandage and all. Couldn't wait. The person behind the counter said it was 10:56am. Then he said that breakfast was only served until 10:55am. So they would not take my order. One minute. I pointed out that it was only one minute past 10:55am. That elicited no sympathy. Didn't matter. He said the kitchen would reopen in 30 minutes with a lunch menu (no breakfast) and I could come back then. One minute. Hugely offensive. Very disappointing. Horrible customer service. Very different from the multiple other visits earlier in the week. One minute. read more

I've been to Passero's four times in the past two weeks, but I only have two pictures because I never pause to take them! My favorite things are... - the chicken dumpling soup: the dumplings have that perfect doughy texture you're looking for in a dumplings soup dumpling. - the peanut butter chocolate bar: it's a luxe Reese's and not as sweet, not much else to be said! - the veggie cream cheese: when I tell you I bought a soup container of this stuff, I am not exaggerating. I don't know what they put in it to make it so good, but it is SO GOOD. - the staff. They're really just so friendly. Tip them!! I'm really happy I found this place. Pretty good coffee shop located in Washington Square West. It offers a wide selection of coffee bean types, bakery goods, and food items. The place was well run- got customers in and out the door quickly and efficiently. The latte I got was the perfect temperature and tasted so good. TLDR: poor service, customer shaming, and subpar food While sitting down at a table more than 6 feet from others and waiting for the rest of my order, and while drinking coffee, I coughed to clear my throat (into my elbow). Then the barista throws open the doors. Then, a few minutes later, while still waiting, I coughed again. The barista then yells at me to leave for being sick in front of 4 other customers. For context, the only time I was unmasked was while sitting at the table drinking coffee away from other patrons, I'm not sick, I'm double vaxxed and boosted and I have my flu shot. Both times, I coughed to clear my throat. I explained that I wasn't feeling sick, and he questioned that by telling me he heard me cough. I'm still waiting for my order when the barista explains why he opened the doors to the another employee -because, according to him, I was "coughing without a mask on." I then asked for my order and they both apologized as it had been on the counter without them realizing I didn't get the rest of my order. I ordered the apple oatmeal, and it was very clearly instant oatmeal. The apple bits were chewy like they were previously dehydrated and the oatmeal itself was watery . The whole experience was mortifying and the food was subpar so I'm never coming back here. read more

Very disappointed. I've walked by so many times and finally decided to come for lunch one day. The price is alright I guess- a sandwich and an apple/banana for $8. But I seriously waited for 15min for the sandwich. And the worst thing is, when I opened it, it is impossible to eat! It's a long rectangle and it was cut in half the long way in two triangles. And the way they wrapped it, idk how to eat it at all..... The pesto was spread unevenly so it kept dripping. The flatbread wasn't warm or in anyway tasty. I popped in here for the first time during mid-morning and I was pleasantly surprised to discover a great little place near Jeweler's Row and Jefferson Health. I noted right away how friendly the barista was. She greeted everyone who walked in the door and asked how their day was going - very personable. The ambiance was very quaint, quirky and cozy. They have several spots for sitting and doing work. They had a bunch of drink options as well as food choices - including a breakfast sandwich that sounded delicious. The service was quick and I was really happy with my chai latte. The barista making my drink asked if I wanted cinnamon on top which was an attention to detail that made the experience just that much more pleasant. The drink was flavorful and really hot, which was nice because sometimes drinks cool off too quickly. Overall, I was really happy with my first experience here and I will definitely be back when I'm in this part of town. read more

Having lived in Center City Philly for 3 years now, I can't believe I have never tried this place before. Had to run an errand in the area and wait for someone so I found this on Yelp. I noticed one review where the owner Jeff L responded with grace and thoughtfulness to a customer complaint. Immediately I knew that was a good sign that they care. So I just had my first ever coffee of the day here (organic Flores) and its fantastic. Subtle and sublime with that light sheen of a coffee oil residue that you know comes from quality. That, coupled with blue skies and sunny 75 degrees and the marvelousness of sitting outside on the sidewalk (first time since March (covid)) made this a 5 star enjoyable experience today. Stopped in here on a whim after doing business at jeweler's row. Amazing decision. Got one tuna ("Rittenhouse") and one chicken ("City Hall") panini and a flat white made with oat milk. Despite the challenge of frothing oat milk they succeeded at getting the texture in the flat white, and the espresso was brewed well. The paninis were inventive and delicious. The interior is strikingly beautiful but still low-key in a way appropriate for a coffee shop. While being counter service, the employees came out to clear tables and always maintained friendly mannerisms. 5/5 food and experience. read more
