This group cares deeply for each and every dog in their sphere. It's an honor to foster with them because they are proactive, honest, fun, organized, and professional. I've worked with several rescues and shelters over the past 20 years, and they are the best I've encountered. They tell it like it is and keep the dogs' well-being the priority. If you get the chance to donate, volunteer, foster, or adopt, you'll be glad you did!

two of my babies were saved through P4P! Thank you guys!

I've worked with many, many rescue groups in the last 25 years and Passion for Pitties is one of the best. They are made up of a group of just passionate and beautiful souls and I've had the honor of adopting two dogs through them. They care deeply about the animals and work tirelessly to do all they can to give these incredible dogs a second chance at life. I highly recommend adopting/fostering through P4P!

An amazing organization with a beautiful mission. We adopted our sweet boy Georgie through Passion for Pitties and had such a positive experience. Everyone was incredibly kind and helpful, it is clear that the people working with this organization are very passionate about what they do. We couldn't be more happy with our adoption and the experience of adopting through Passion for Pitties! :)

I am a foster with the organization and I have nothing but good things to report. I am not charged a PENNY for any care expenses (vaccines, food, toys, etc). When my foster pup was having a hard time with other dogs, he was even provided training. He's such a good boy and I'm so happy I've been given the opportunity to give back and work with dogs who need our help!! This organization does amazing work pulling dogs in need out of dangerous situations. Please be cautious of bad reviews as many of these are at the fault of their own negligence of being a pet owner. and be mindful when looking to adopt to find the perfect pet for you - whether it's through passion for pitties or not. :)

I started fostering for passion for pitties not too long ago after seeing a post regarding 9 sweet 4 week old baby's needing a safe place. I took two home and our journey began with our little ham bone getting adopted shortly after and our sweet girl going to her forever family this weekend. I also was able to take home a beautiful ham of a man from the shelter before going to his forever family . The amount of support I have received not just in my foster journey but my personal life has been amazing. Elise, Leslie , Robbie, Lyndsey and all the amazing wonderful people connected with passion for pitties thank you !

Passion for Pitties helped me through a difficult time after I lost my first pittie that I found abandon in a box when I was a teenager. After losing my soul dog, I wanted to be active in the rescue community. I have adopted, fostered, and volunteered with P4P. I currently have two P4P pups who are my world. My first P4P adoption was Furnando! We were originally going to foster, and went through the approval process. Originally interested in a different pup to foster while he was recovering from a broken leg, it did not work out as he already had a foster. At first I was sad that the pup we wanted to foster already had a foster home, then I was sent a picture and bio of Furnando (previously Jeriah). He was as the perfect fit. Passion for Pitties took the time to match us with a dog that fit our lifestyle and it was meant to be. We opted for adoption and that was one of the best decisions we have ever made in our lives. Next there is Duke! An emergency foster was needed for 3 - 12 week old litter mates. We stepped up to the plate and what an experience that was have 3 puppies and a yearling in the house. We had no intentions on adopting another dog at that point in our lives as we wanted to focus on Furnando's training but Duke and Furnando had a connection we could not break apart. We loved the other two litter mates so much but there was just something about Duke. Another decision that was one of the best in our lives. We love our puppy family so much and could not be happier. Of course having two under two takes dedication, patience, and training. Knowing that we saved lives, and found our best friends is the most rewarding feeling. Thank you to the entire Passion for Pitties crew for connecting me with my best friends, Duke and Furnando. As someone who wants the same experience for all potential adopters and fosters here are some considerations that have helped myself and others: 1. COST - This goes for any dog, but if you have a pittie set aside some money for professional training. The majority of these dogs have traumas, and need PROFESSIONAL HELP in some aspect. Can you afford food, vet care , day care FOR LIFE? 2. CAPABILITY - can you break up a scuffle or chase after your dog if they escape? Can you provide stimulation? Can you provide a calm environment for a shelter dog to unwind? Can you practice DAILY what you and your pup learned in training? If you plan on having children will you be able to handle children AND a dog? 3. PERSONALITY - not all dogs get along with each other. This goes along with training, if you adopt a dog that has issues with your dog, then you should seek out professional help to learn each dogs' triggers. Some dogs do not belong together, some need to be an only dog. It is vital to do a meet a greet before hand. In urgent cases, be prepared to keep dogs separated for an indefinite amount of time until proper training and introductions have been executed. 4. RESEARCH, UNDERSTANDING & RESPECT - Understand your dog's needs, personality and triggers. Respect that the reason so many pitties have been neglected or abandon is because so many people disregarded some of these key topics. I hope this helps anyone thinking of fostering or adopting from Passion for Pitties! - Grace, AJ, Duke, and Furnando.

Passion for Pitties is dedicated to the success of each pup brought into the charity. Donations go directly to pay medical bills and the the staff is 100% volunteers. The Leadership of Elise and Fonz has kept Passion for Pitties going strong and growing for many years with thousands of dogs saved. Yes, thousands! I highly recommend getting involved with Passion for Pitties whether it's adoption, fostering, organizational support, donations or even helping on the weekends at events. I've been involved with Passion for Pitties for the past three years and it's been a highlight for my life. for the the rescue that puts the dogs first in everything they do.

First timer here adopting and omg these guys suck. I tried to get a dog named Alamo bc it will be killed "tomorrow ". I currently lost my 9 y/o Pitbull and love the breed( note I live in a 3 bed room 2 bath corner house with a gated front and back yard). So I figured I'd try to save this dog to love him and him to love my family. Elise was a B and rude saying my house was unsafe for a dog haha I had a dog (115lb pit) living here for 9 years. She would rather have a dog killed bc of her wrongful thoughts. Side note. They were trying to charge me $298 for a dog that they did not have at their "rescue camp" sd hum society has the dog and has him in their shelter. Smh This place is a joke and was a horrible Experience. I feel sad for the dog that they so call try to save. Another thing is. Are they really a rescue. They trying to charge $500 for a white bull terrier! Is this a business for a pit bull rescue society ? Shame

This review is long overdue. My fiancee and I adopted our Brownie from P4P about 9 months ago and couldn't be happier. Pitbulls get such a bad reputation due to horrible owners, we wanted to give a pittie a second chance and show others the true side of owning a pitbull. Did a home check with Elise beforehand, and visited Brownie and her foster mom to meet them and ask some questions. Elise and Brownie's foster mom were always helpful. Could NOT be happier with the whole adoption process and are very thankful to Elise and P4P. P4P is a rescue group where their top priorities lie within saving dogs to give them a second chance and making sure they go to a safe, secure, and loving forever home. Your feelings/opinions are not in that list of priorities. They will always put the dogs first. If you have a safe and secure home, you don't have to worry about the home check. If you can prove that the dog will become a family member that will be loved and cared for the way they deserve, you don't have to worry about your adoption application. If you can't pass either, you don't deserve to have a dog, plain and simple.

passion for pitties is a wonderful rescue group. I've always considered fostering dogs but never did I think a pitt would be my first dog to foster & I chose the right group to start. Elise, the volunteers and other fosters are so welcoming & helpful when it came to any bumps in the road of handling my foster dog. The rescue also handles any expenses that the dog has or needs which is wonderful. They truly care about their dogs & their team! Highly recommend

I should have read reviews regarding Passion for Pitties before dealing with this organization. At first, everything was going fine, the adoption process was smooth, communication with the foster, and Elise was great, updates with how my pup was doing. So the day I arrived to pick up my pup at the fosters, I was greeted and told to come inside and she explained that we should do a meet and greet outside, and I said okay. Then I heard a door open on the other end of the house which the roommate let my pup in. Remember I never met my new pup, ever. So seeing her in person for the first time, I was so excited, and she ran and attacked me. She bit my face and hand, and I ran out the front door in total shock. I was bleeding a lot. It took me a while to process what had just happened. The foster was in shock also, but in a very calm manner like...I'm sorry can I clean up your injury which she did and proce7thed to explain that never happened with other people she was introduced to. The thing is that they met her outside of the house, not inside. This bothered me so much because the report that she told Elise was that I was informed beforehand and that I didn't wait and came through the front door, which was a lie. The foster parent invited me and explained we should do a meet and greet outside, but the roommate let my pup inside after I was invited in, where I was attacked in the face and hand which needed stitches. So talking to Elise, she made me feel as if I was the one to blame for getting attacked and was informed to meet outside ahead of time, which I wasn't. Also, there was a note missing in the report from the shelter that Elise sent me and told me not to worry about. I asked what it was, she had shown some aggression toward a staff member, but to disregard because it wasn't true. I just hope this pup, that I will no longer be adopting, will not attack or injure anyone else like it did me. They definitely put DOGS FIRST over the people who want to help. I get it. The problem was with the foster parent and the roommate not communicating on the meet and greet.
