Idk if she changed the wax or used cheap wax or mixed wax.. she burned off the complete lower area of my eyelids.... by the imprint you can tell she wasn't even doing my eyebrows well to begin with. Her name is Tammy. She did not even apologize. She had the nerve to keep saying it wasn't her fault, as if it were mine. I do the same routine everyday.. nothing has changed. I don't know why this place has bad ratings. I experienced great service and left with my nails looking fab! Mani/pedi for $22?! In Hollywood?!?! Yep!! Bring cash or you'll have to spend $3 to withdraw money with their ATM machine. I had two women work on my nails simultaneously. They were very professional, gentle, kind, and precise. No cuts! Well I have to say that this is one of my pleasures when I visit Los Angeles. Being a burly man who works in the construction trade, my nail hygiene is rather piss poor. What do I do, you ask? Shit man, Passion nails of course. I get the deluxe mani/peti, is costs $27 what a deal to work on my gnarly hooves and paws. I make it a tradition every time I'm in town. The same lady's have been working there for years, and always seem to remember me : ) The are very good at there craft, and work hard to make my fugly feet look good. If you are thinking of going here, stop. Turn around. Run away. FAST. I cracked a nail and needed it repaired before it broke completely. I was carless that day so I needed to find a place that was on the Red Line. I wish I had my hands crushed by rocks rather than having gone to this place. The facilities leave much to be desired; I hadn't been expecting luxury but clean would have been nice. As an installment of a 'Is He Your Baby Daddy?' episode on Maury Povich made IQ points flee my brain out of desperation, the woman working on me made my cuticles bleed and filed my nails so roughly that I was gritting my teeth and wincing the entire time. Once, she hurt me so badly that I yanked my hand away! Even the massage part was painful as I am convinced she was trying to push her thumb clear through my arm. When it came to the polish, she didn't even cover my nails entirely and used a top coat that was so goopy that it just sat on top like a blob and created a kind of ripple effect texture. Yeah. I would have been better off to have just trimmed my nail and avoided the salon altogether. read more

I got the absolute worst gel manicure you could dream of.. Took 25 minutes to get old gel polish off, put thick layers of gel on so it was goopy and could be peeled right off, not to mention it was all over my cuticles and they didn't bother to clean it up! They had about ten colors to choose from so I chose black and it Amie out a weird grayish purple color. I ended up having to go somewhere else and start all over again! Seems like the staff was never really trained on gel and don't do it often. read more

Do not go here! The only reason I went here is because it is convenient and right next to my home. I got a full set, $25, so I thought "reviews are bad but what's $25?" WORST NAILS EVER! First I was told to come back an hour later because they were busy. So I did and when I returned, they were still busy and I had to wait anyways. 30 minutes later, I could see they told other people to return as well and they were also stuck waiting 30 minutes or more. One person waited 30 minutes after she was told to return, her friend got her pedicure done, and she decided she didn't want to wait anymore and left. Even when the manicurist started doing my nails she said I was late, then started telling the rest of the customers it's my fault they're waiting because I was late. Uhm WHAT?! Meanwhile, the manicurist is trying to bust out my full set as quickly (and sloppily) as possible. She started gluing on the nails, some crooked, so I had her fix it, which she did not seem happy about. After slabbing on the acrylic she started filing them and I've never seen so many bumps and bubbles on my nails ever. So I kept pointing out to her what she needed to fix. After a while I felt like a nuisance so I just asked her I I can file them. The shape of each nail was different from the other and the acrylic on top was uneven. After she burned me with the file machine a few times and finished on the nails with what she believed are her standards of finished nails, I just let her paint them and thought, I'll just finish filing when I get home. She didn't even clean the acrylic under my nails and trying to pick it from underneath my nail and cuticle was painful and annoying. I paid $25 and tipped $5 because I asked her to fix so much but definitely the worst nails EVER and she did NOT deserve it. The cherry on top: After I filed them when I got home and they were decent, they lasted about THREE ((3)) days before they started lifting and coming off. Oh man, I just went straight to Wynn Nail Spa just a few blocks down Vine to get them filled less than a week later. Actually I just ripped them off (didn't take much effort) and got a brand new set. 110% improvement. Worth the extra $10 I paid at this place, and much nicer inside too. You get what you pay for. Take my advice, walk 5 minutes down the block instead to Wynn. read more

I came in a couple of weeks ago to get a gel mani, as the (fancier-looking) place in the W was booked. Not only did they seat me immediately, but the lady who did my nails (Kim?) was thorough and attentive. It's 12 days later, and though they've grown out, they still look FANTASTIC. You know what.. everyone said this places sucks !! I can't agree. For the price $24 for a mani/pedi, it was good. I have been to a few places since I moved to Los Angeles recently and HONESTLY ...I don't get that places don't have dryers and don't use base coats or top coats. Passion does. For a few bucks after you get the Pedicure chair but honestly for the price you don't need it. i wish i knew the name of the young girl that did my nails but they were precise and thorough. Its not the hippest or prettiest but its clean and they do a good job. I don't do acrylics or that but even fill-ins were very cheap. A full set was like $30. My friend told me for Hollywood that's a HUGE BARGAIN. I'll be back. OH and i found out they did Threading.. Threading is huge in NY and I am used to seeing it on every corner. Well the owner does threading..and she also did a good job!!! I don't usually trust my eyebrows to anyone but.. I had no choice and SHE DID A GREAT JOB!! Check them out. read more

This has been my #1 eyebrow waxing place for years. And they are nice enough to use the olive oil I bring in to remove the honey wax. Everyone is kind and $9 for eyebrows ($6 for upper lip) is an excellent price. Bring cash, though, to avoid a card charge. read more

They fell off one had within a few days and went back to ask them to put them on and they said they couldn't even tho I asked how much and wasn't trying to get them for free. I the. Evon did a lovely job on my toes, feet & calves. took her time and gave me a really relaxing massage unlike the other shops that rush through it... then have the audacity to ask if I want 10 more minutes for an extra cost. the spa manicure was reasonably priced and well worth it. I took off one star because they had the doors open on a very humid/muggy afternoon. Had I gone there for my fingernails, I would have refrained. my polish bubbles up when I am hot while getting polish brushed on my nails. however, it's close to home so I'll be back for pedis. read more

I wen to this place because my acrylic nails needed to be filled -bad. This place was cheeper than others so I took a chance. So its $14 for a fill. I walk in and I realize why the reviews are mixed. This place is really small, like really small. The 3 ladies that were there all seemed nice but their english was so broken and their accents so thick, I could hardly understand them. So I asked for a fill and after a minute of trying to comunicate that to them they finally got it. The asked if i wanted paint (they were currently just french tips) i declined (I will be regretting this decision soon). I didn't want paint because I wanted my nails to look the same as before (they looked good). As the lady starts on my nails she does good (though i've never had my nails filled before) She doesn't hurt my fingers at all which is a good thing in my eyes. When she applies the acrylic is where the problem starts. Not that she does a bad job or anything its just that I could see a very clear line where the old acrylic was. Like I said, never filled acrylics before, but should you not be able to tell (yes this could be fault of the first time i did my nails but I'm not sure). When it was time to rinse my hands, I had to go to the bathroom to do it and the bathroom smelled! This put me off, just get some spray. This is when I realized that they probably try to be real cheep, which does not make me feel better about my nails. I only got a clear coat because I couldn't really communicate with them. I payed with a card bad idea, it was a $6 service fee! $6!!!!! The hell? I was mad, so i went to another place to get some color on my nails. read more

I came in this past Saturday afternoon as a walk in. The staff was friendly enough. I got a mani / pedi. For the manicure, I only wanted my cuticles done, nails filed with a clear coat. For the pedicure, I picked out a color and asked for a watermelon design on my big toes. After they started working on me I was told they could not do the watermelon design. This wasn't too big a deal, as they did not have watermelons displayed with their other patterns. The session took over an hour. The 1 star review is because the clear polish on my nails started pealing 2 days later. I NEVER get my nails done. I did it because I'm looking for a new job and wanted to look professional and polished... Not so much from this place. I won't be returning. read more
