Worth the drive, every time! I've been going to Helen since Covid, so about 6 years now, and she's honestly the best. It's a 20-25 minute drive for me, but I don't mind at all, when you find someone who actually gets it right, it's worth it. I'm very particular about my nails; I have a specific style I like done a certain way, and she nails it (no pun intended) every single time. I also just love the whole salon -- the owner and everyone there is amazing. John does my pedicure and he's fantastic with nails too. I've been to this place three times now. The first time, the polish on my nails started coming off after just one week. The second time, even though I had an appointment, I still had to wait 20 minutes. I decided to give them a third chance because it's close to my home. This time, they cut my toenails all the way down to the skin. One of my nails was broken, and I asked them to cut that one, but instead they cut all of them extremely short. When I asked why they cut them so short, they told me, "It looks cleaner this way." After that, she put extensions on them or whatever . On top of that, nobody there treats you kindly. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're not even a customer. While I was sitting there, after I expressed that I was unhappy with how my nails were done, after everything she started talking about me and telling the story to her coworkers in front of me but i can understand their language. That is very unprofessional and completely unacceptable for a business. Overall, I'm very disappointed with the service and will not be returning. read more

I've never had my own go-to nail salon, let alone a nail lady that I always choose to be the one to do my nails. My supervisor at work always has her nails done and goes here and recommended it. I looked up these reviews on Yelp and most of the comments said Serena, Serena, Serena, so ofc I booked an appointment to see what Serena was about and she didn't disappoint. I submitted images in my booking and walked in with a couple more. I get so nervous as I'm not confrontational so idk how to express what I want and/or if there's a mistake somewhere during the process. Serena was so sweet, calmed my nerves quite a bit and she didn't make me feel like an asshole when I pointed out that one of the nails was crooked, we giggled about it and genuinely laughed at how funny it looked and then she fixed it like that (mind you, I don't blame her bc my index finger is kinda crooked lol) and said "I want a customer to be honest and talk to me if something bothers them" after I told her I felt nervous saying something. My nails came out great. My nails were $85, and I like to always tip extra, especially since my first day here was good. I WILL be coming back, hopefully each month so I can get into a routine of keeping my nails healthy and pretty. I don't wear makeup often so nails are kinda of that for me. Horrible customer service! Very rude people ! My husband called ahead of time to make sure I can come in to get a pedicure and when I arrived they turned me away even though they were not busy and still open for another hour. I told them that my husband had called ahead of time before I drove the far distance to their shop and they didn't care and wouldn't even look up to speak to me. They were very nice and completely empty so could take me right away. I asked for a simple men's manicure. Cut and filed short with clear polish. Anna was very rushed filed nails very jagged and rough I had to ask her 3/4 to fix and smooth it. Finally we got to a decent place w nails still a bit rough but understood was as good as it was gonna get. Now time for clear polish I've never had someone struggle so hard to neatly apply clear polish. It was patchy and lifted and bubbled on several nails. Before it was even dry. The. She would show me and ask if it was ok and I had to say it looked really bad and so she asked for another coat , I'm like no it's really bad please do most of them again. Second time was just as bad so I asked her to just take it off. Ended up going next door to pampered hands where they did a great job so ont be able to show photo of the before. I wish I went there originally. Anna was very sweet but not skilled and spoke very little English so it was hard to let her know what was being done wrong. I came here as a walk-in with a friend on a Monday night. We didn't have to wait. I love the way this manicure came out! Annie was my manicurist. She gave me options and meticulously filed and prepped my nail beds before applying the gel. My thumb nail was starting to tear on the left and so she put thicker gel on that nail so that I didn't have to cut it short. I called the day before to book an appointment. I booked a take off and full set at 6pm the next day. I requested Jenny because all the great reviews about her. I came in and instantly everyone looked irritated and started talking. What they don't know is that I am Vietnamese and I stayed quiet the whole time while they were talking sh** about me. Imagine what they're saying about you?! I was patient I didn't mind that I had to wait for Jenny to finish the appointment before mine. Right when she sat me down she gave me attitude and refused to do a full set because she wanted to go home early. If I made an appointment for a take off and full set why would you accept that appointment time? She continued to give me attitude and talk sh** in Vietnamese about me. She complained the whole time and was just so mean and lazy... so I gave in and did gel x. I was sick of it at that point. She told me my nails would be solid for a good month obviously I didn't believe it but it's been one week and my nail already cracked off and the gel is warped.I'm never coming back here again. Even though I didn't get what I wanted I'm not a horrible person. I still tipped $10 and said thank you but guess what? She just said whatever/rolled her eyes and walked away :)! I don't know what happened, but the manicure I received last time I went was the worst I ever had. I asked for a hard gel manicure, to have my nails trimmed and rounded, and to get my cuticles cut. I had an appointment. Showed up with a friend. There seemed to be a lot of confusion about our appointment. They eventually sat me down. The technician working on me started to file my nails down severely instead of just cut them. She then proceeded to shape my nails square, after asking repeatedly for round. She started to cut my cuticles while they were dry, making me bleed on EVERY single finger....i asked if if she could please put my hands in water first, and she didn't know what I meant but eventually did so. She buffed my nails but kept catching my skin, making me bleed more. The application of the hard gel was messy, lumpy and way too thick. I asked her if she could buff it down, because it was way too thick and lumpy. She attempted to, but there was no difference. My nails looked really awful in the end. UPDATE PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE THEY CUT MY HANDS 3 TIMES I got my acrylics filled here and they started lifting a day after. I came in to get it fixed when I had the time and they made me wait 10 minutes only to have the girl manually RIP OFF my acrylic from my finger. It WAS SO MUCH PAIN. Then when they "fixed" it they didn't properly activate the gel or even file it so I'm left with a misshapen STICKY nail. Have gotten gel x and a pedicure here. The pedicure is good. They are overpriced for the job they do for gel x. I would say the gel x are 5 or 6/10. Whenever I leave this salon I have nails that are all different lengths/ shapes and sizes and have to fix them myself. Also the technician suggested I do a 4th coat bc the colors in the book are not the same as the actual polish. I was hesitant and said i didn't want the nails to look to bulky, she said they wouldn't and sure enough they are extremely bulky due to too many coats. Safe to say I will not be returning here, have given this place too many chances and money. read more

Tons of colors, but not the best service. I got a shellac manicure and my nails were buffed so much that became thin and brittle. The shellac was applied unevenly and I ended up getting them redone from a different salon within a week. read more

I was unhappy with one service I received (all other times were great) and I complained. The business called me immediately and offered to have me come in and have it fixed for free. I made an appointment the day before for my girlfriend and I and we're welcomed into a super cute salon! I am writing this review because not only did they do an amazing job with my nails but they have lasted me for 3.5 weeks! I've gotten gel extensions at many places but nailbay is my new favorite. I prefer gel extensions because they don't damage your nails like acrylic but I've never had them last this long!
