The one star is because they fixed my nails every time they weren't done right (the good)...and also because my nails are still ruined two months after I stopped going (the bad). Customer service was not superb but it was definitely good - they were always apologetic and corrected the mistake of the nail tech who ruined my nails. Can't remember her name, but the nail tech who sits at the booth next to the guest chairs (to the far left when you walk in) is amazing in both her skills and customer service. Would give her 5/5 - I started getting hard gel with her (first time ever) and my nails always lasted up to 5 weeks or whenever I got them redone. They never chipped or broke off before then. She was my regular person for a few months before someone new did my nails for the first time. My situation is that when I got hard gel with a different nail tech, my nails would always chip after ~one week. This nail tech who messed up caused my nails to get thin because she had to keep redoing it. My nails started cracking in the middle and bleeding. This happened to me at another salon when I got dip - the manicure lasted 4+ weeks but they thinned out my nails when they removed them, causing this same issue. Just a warning so no one else goes through it. If you get anything else, I could recommend going here and doubt you'll have any issues. read more

I give two stars because they have a BEAUTIFUL chandelier hanging almost in the middle of the store, and it is a HUGE attractions of sparkles from outside. now...as for my experience....ummm...it doesn't sparkle! I was asked why I didn't wash my hands and feet before I arrived. No...I am not homeless....I'm ..(I think) a respected community member that does a lot of good work to improve the quality of life in our neighborhood and city. I always wash my hands and feet...geesh! I felt so degraded. so...as the time progresses to having a mani/pedi...I continued to feel like a slime....perhaps...a thorn for even showing up. It comes time to pay, the technician hands me an iPad to pay. ughhh...I guess I'm cheap..but the price was almost double what I expected to pay; let alone, they had alaready inserted the tip that I was to pay! Its sort of my fault for paying the tip, as I was shocked and flustered and was too quick to click the "approve" button to pay. I have yet to return. Every time I walk by this shop....I look at the pretty crystals, and cringe at the same time; hoping they do not remember who I am......I wasn't and am not good enough for them. I rarely post negative reviews and this isn't about the nails but the actual person who did my nails. She was visibly frustrated the entire time did not want to do the work, I had to adjust myself in the seat which made her roll her eyes and become more frustrated. I was uncomfortable to say the least and had to do the bottom of my feet when I got home bc she spent 2 seconds on that. Have been here many times and never was treated like this. Nailington is local and I've gone twice. The second time got the job done but i have some notes. The tech doing my nails did a great job in the end but I did ask for more even filing and clean cuticles, and then it just hurt at times, more than other manis. Getting clean cuticles is my #1 priority to go to a salon for a manicure. The tech doing my deluxe pedicure was lovely but the massage was shorter than stated, I mean nearly but ya know that's supposed to be the best part! She started doing gel polish which i booked only regular so, she removed it and then did regular base and removed that. She remembered a step and wrapped my feet in a hot gel which felt nice but then went and did the nails of another customer while I waited. That took a long time, got too hot and I got frustrated bc overall an appt that should have been one hour (according to the times on the site) took over 90 minutes. I was trying to sneak this appt during my lunch hr and loved that they had the length of service times listed but it didn't work out. I'll probably go back but I'd skip the deluxe and ask them upfront to please pay attention to cuticles most. Overall: Thank you Nailington staff for making my nails look nice! read more

In response to the owner: I'm not sure why you're bringing up the fact that she's Jewish American, but okay. Your client, who was sitting two tables away from me in a nail salon with ambient noise, lowered her voice when speaking on this topic compared to others, so no, I didn't hear the whole conversation; I also tried to tune you both out. Of course, every person gets to decide what they are and aren't comfortable with being called, but to take it a step further and police how individuals within the community speak to one another is too far, which is where my problem lies. Each community, whether it be African Americans, LGBTQ+, Jewish community, etc. gets to decide if they want to reclaim words previously used against them. To call it ignorant without attempting to understand the opposite perspective or the cultural significance is ignorant. Additionally, I don't know why you'd expect me to list things I liked in a conversation I wasn't nor wanted to be part of. The bottom line is the manicure was bad and your client's conversation, in some respects, lacked nuance and made me uncomfortable. This was an all-around disappointing experience. My nail tech was nice, but the work wasn't great. She asked if I'd like my nails short which I said yes, but she cut them down to the nub which I wasn't expecting. My nails were also filed rather unevenly; they slope downward at an angle and the application is clumpy. Normally I'd ask for this to be fixed, but I wanted to leave as I was not a fan of the conversation the woman a few tables over was having. I missed the full conversation but from what I could hear, she was critiquing black people using the n-word colloquially with non black people but also each other. She referred to the reclaiming of the word as ignorant and other things. I am black and it was just me, my nail tech, her, her nail tech, and who I assumed to be her daughter. What she was saying and how she was saying it made me feel as though she was either looking for her nail tech, who is a service worker, to validate her opinion or to be antagonistic toward me. She had the wherewithal to slightly lower her voice due to my presence so one would think she'd have the wherewithal to either not have the convo at all on a Tuesday at 11:30am or to wait until I left (I was almost done), but alas. Don't think I'll return as the quality of work was poor and the vibe was unfriendly due to their client read more

I was looking for a nail salon to do builder nails (biab aka builder in a bottle -- not to be confused with gel-x). I feel like it's healthier for your nails and last a long time. I've been doing it for the last 2 mani's and they were great, but the last place I had found was too far for me, all the way in Burbank. I'm so glad I searched for somewhere closer! The ladies here were so lovely and efficient. They did my pedicure and mani at the same time, and helped my indecisive self decide on color ideas. My pedicurist, Sana, was actually really great at massages. I had just had a jog earlier and what a relief! It was $30 for a basic pedicure, which also included a nice scrub and of course, Sana's amazing massage. My manicurist was Anna, and she was very meticulous and nice. I loved the shape and colors we ended up with. As long as these nails last (I'm too lazy to redo them more than once every 5-6 weeks, haha) -- they will have a regular customer here! My builder mani was $60. $20 extra for the chrome. It's reasonable for la prices. Free parking behind the salon in a garage :) An added bonus is Mimi, their mascot & customer greeter. Darn I truly don't want to leave this kind of review. It pains me to do this, but for a service that I pay hard earn money for, only to be treated so badly, literally the worst experience. Roughly and rushed throughout my expensive gel overlay manicure, all the while she talked to a co-worker, never acknowledging me or any pleasantries. And I was the only customer in the shop! Leaving me feeling like "wow did that just happen" and now my hands are actually sore from being squeezed into submission. Mini was nicer to me, the only genuine interaction was with a dog. With that said, I will no longer go back to Nailington What once was a nice and friendly experience is now tainted by one bad and painful experience. I'm very disappointed by the owners response from my review. I understand the need to keep gel manicures under an hour, I've had gel manicures done under an hour, along with a gentle touch, communication and courtesy. Never done with lighting fast speed (triggering anxiety). My hand being squeezed and twisted into submission. I was the only customer in the shop, and I even had a set appointment. Yes you did take a second to mention you were teaching the other nail technician, but at the expense of my time, a paying customer? That is just poor customer service and business. I was never given an option on being a teaching tool. And because of this, you have taken business away from your technicians, with which I liked and highly recommend. Yes I'll take my business elsewhere. For the record, kindness goes a long way. read more

Ana does my nails and I just love her! I started off with Gel X and now go in for a fill, which I truly prefer (rather than getting a new set every time). She is really precise, does great design work, and always has new design ideas on hand for when I am feeling stuck. She is a gem and keeps me coming back to Nailington! Also, I am not sure what brand of gel polish they use, but I find it stays really well. I am very hard on my hands (I use lots of hand sanitizer which ruins the top coat) and I think it does a great job of staying put. read more

There is no one else I trust with my nails more than Ana. I use to bite my nails and have really thin brittle nails - since we have started doing hard gel my nails have been beautifully long and strong. They can last 5-6 weeks if I get a color that doesn't look bad grown out, but I almost always get red (66). And in the year and a half i've been going to her I have never had a nail break. People ask me all the time if i have fake nails on because they look that good. i don't like to leave negative reviews but i feel like this is constructive criticism that needs to be heard. First time coming here i had gel x acrylic nails that i needed taken off and was going to do gel polish. the lady doing my nails didn't even fully remove the acrylic before putting on gel and brushed me off about fully removing it. honestly i let it pass whatever, i come back again for a gel manicure and pedicure. i got a normal pedicure no special add ons but there was no massage with the lotion, and was hurt when removing extra skin/ cuticles. she kept using a drill which to my knowledge i have never seen anyone use for a pedicure and it was unnecessary to use it. i would expect the tech to stop at my constant flinching. my manicure was unfortunately another level of pain, i have never had a manicure and been this cut/ hurt this many times... i honestly am only writing this review bc of the extent of pain i am in hours later from these cuts. nail tech didn't even say sorry or mention it it sucks paying full price a service when it hurts the entire time and after. there's dried blood all over my nails. honestly it just seems like the nail techs here don't know what they're doing at all sorry read more
