Been here before but looks like they completely redid the interior. It seems more spacious and much nicer inside now, and the desserts are still good so I highly recommend you come by again! Got the mango sago pomelo to share and it doesn't disappoint. Really good. Also got two drinks, I got a mango milk tea and it hits the spot. Good drink container too. Also got an egg waffle. It's crispy though doesn't have much of a salted egg flavour. Overall still recommend this spot for sure for good boba, Chinese dessserts and egg waffles.
Came here on a whim after having Vietnamese food for dinner at Cafe Xu Hue across the street! It's very cozy and bright inside, and felt like a great way to end the cold November night. Service was very friendly and quick. The chocolate bubble waffle was deliciously crispy but soft to bite into. I loved the amount of chocolate flavour in the waffle - not too sweet! To me, this was better than the chocolate chip bubble waffle I got once at Paragon. That one was simply original waffle with melted chocolate chips in it. This one was fully immersed in chocolate batter and gave a wonderful overall flavour. Would like to try their other flavours! The black sesame dessert was good and felt homey, but I wish there was more sesame/nutty flavour. The sweetness was balanced. The glutinous sesame balls were a perfect texture, and the filling inside was so tasty. It was pure sesame.
Such a great hangout spot for drinks and dessert on Kingsway! I came here to catch up with a friend Tuesday around 5 pm and we were the only ones there for the whole hour. Not surprising, as I assume this is more of a post-dinner spot. I was really impressed with the wide selection on the menu; no matter what you want, they probably have it! They split the 4 menu pages into the main categories: waffles, ice pot, shaved ice, cold and hot drinks, hot dessert, and cold dessert. It was a cold rainy day when I came, so my friend and I both got something from the hot dessert section. I went with HP4 ($8.95), the tofu pudding with red bean soup, and she got RB11 ($9.95), which was black glutinous rice with black sesame tang yuan / sticky rice ball. I wasn't super impressed with the tofu pudding, which was a little bit sour than what I'm used to. Plus the texture wasn't as smooth as regular tofu pudding. I appreciate they give you some additional sugary syrup on the side, as the red bean paste wasn't sweet enough to go with the tofu pudding by itself. I definitely want to come back and try the shaved ice on a warmer day! It looks amazing especially if you're a fruit lover like me.

The black sesame soup wasn't the best--it was pretty bland for me and lacked a strong black sesame flavour. The sticky rice balls were absolutely delicious though.. Perfectly sweet with a good amount of black sesame flavour. If I ever happen to go again, I would definitely just get the sticky rice balls on their own! Service was great--it was regular sit-down service which I didn't expect. Paid after we ate. The ambiance felt like any other bubble tea or Asian dessert place. Lots of seating--23 seats inside with additional baby chair and 2 seats outside.
Accepts credit cards. Overall feel is a typical basic bubble tea spot. Nothing special. They give out paper straws. They do have milk tea served in a light bulb bottle and ice pot shaved ice which I've had in the past. It's a novelty and people go for the gram. Brown sugar pearl milk tea $6.95. Rating 6.5/10. The pearls are chewy. The sugar and milk mix is smooth and delicate but the sugar usually sets at the bottom of the cup by the end of the drink. Mango Slush $6.50. Rating 7/10. Good and not overly sweet.
Talk about soft and fluffy ice! Who would have thought ice would be that cozy (if that makes sense). We ordered two very large dishes to share between four people: the mixed fruit shaved ice hot pot and the watermelon shaved ice. COVID wise, there's a hand sanitizer right in front when you enter the restaurant and there are barriers between you and the cashier. The desserts themselves were very refreshing. I really enjoyed the watermelon one as it's huge chunks of watermelon and it wasn't too sweet. When you finish it, there's also still watermelon on the actual sides so you can keep eating it. The mixed fruit one was good, but did get really sweet at the end. I think they were easily worth the price considering the aesthetic and how much you get (easily fed 4 people with even more leftover) Service was fine! The desserts came out quickly.
Cute spot for desserts! Parking along the street, I believe you have to pay. I ordered a mocha milk tea with pearls and it was great. I will try their ice pot next time which I believe is their specialty. It wasn't busy on a Tuesday afternoon. Service is quick. I met up with a friend here and we enjoyed our time talking. They play anime on their TVs and the decor is cute! Can't wait to be back :)
Got a Coconut with Mango pearls which is $6.25 plus 75 cents for the pearls and 25 cents for the single use cup. Not bad price but I consider this an average for what you get just check out my photo. I love the taste of the Coconut and it was creamy with Mango mixed in. In my neighborhood and I will be back to try some of the other offerings they have.
It was pretty mellow here on a Saturday afternoon, with only one other table in the store alongside us. The server was friendly, took our order promptly, and the food also came quickly as well. I loved how they had a miniature version of the airplane-chess game, which comprise a great of my childhood. I also love the clean aesthetic of the interior design - simple and great for photographs, so that is a plus in my book! My friends and I ordered the mango ice pot and the green tea bubble waffle with red beans. I adore mango anything and everything, and this ice pot certainly did not disappoint! It came on a tray with a ceramic pot over spewing dry-ice, with condense milk and extra mango on the side. Portion size was huge, perfect for 3 people and the shaved ice was soft, fluffy, and straight up melted into my mouth. The bubble waffle also tasted good, and presentation was fantastic, though I was pretty full by that point. I thoroughly enjoyed the ice pots here, and will definitely make more visits back and try their different flavor offerings!

They serves a variety of bubble tea and soda which come in light bulb-shaped glasses (some that light up). They also serve shaved ice with fresh fruit (scooped), tapioca pearls, and ice cream. My friend and I came here on Friday night. It wasn't busy when we walked in. For 2 mid-age women, it wasn't hot enough to have shaved ice with fresh fruit. We ordered matcha red bean bubble waffle to share, it was good but not outstanding. The organic ginger tea was tea bag and added 2 slices of ginger in the cup. Taste very mild. It's ok to check it out for photographing on Yelp or Instagramming.

I came here with family over the weekend and apparently this place had a new soft opening in which there was 20% until yesterday (Sept 3). Needless to say, the place was completely empty at 8pm on a hot Sunday evening; either this place isn't good or everyone just went elsewhere. Nonetheless, we didn't complain about having the place to ourselves. The place does look like they've done some work recently as the chairs and tables we sat on were fairly new. The desserts were just what I expected. After having been to a few shaved ice places in Vancouver, I kind of have an idea on what to expect. The mango ice pot that we got however was served on a tray with condensed milk and mango toppings on the side as well, there was liquid nitrogen coming out of the bottom so be sure to get your cameras ready! Also came here to try their melon shaved ice since pictures look so great. If you don't want too much of the same fruit, you can pay an extra $3 to get your choice of two mixed fruits like we did. We ended up getting watermelon and cantaloupe. The whole thing is served on half of a cantaloupe with shaved milk ice, shaved almonds, lychee poppers and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Definitely would recommend sharing this since the portions are so big as you're eating half a melon but hey, if you're ambitious enough to tackle it on your own, go for it. No one's going to stop you!

We were looking for a dessert option in this area and ended up here thanks to Yelp. It was a good late night option as they are currently on their summer hours schedule. We seated ourselves and menus were dropped off. They have an extensive menu. I decided on a mango crepe cake. Other people at my table ordered smoothies, waffles, shaved ice and sago soup. My crepe was alright. It was not the best I have had, but it was still good. There was a decent amount of fresh mango. Service was efficient. There was plenty of seating and ambience was nice. Lastly, there was free street parking at the front of the store. read more
Perfectly good. I wouldn't say it blew my socks off but their BBT and bubble waffle were good. Pricing can be lower but it's not super expensive. I visit from time to time. They have happy hour pricing as well so that helps. read more

Good place to get dessert and bubble tea. Got the bubble tea and it was pretty good and good for the price. All other dessert like bubble waffle, subing, ice dessert and many others are available and it opens till very late so definitely come around if you want dessert until late. Cheers! read more

This cute little bubble tea shop is located near what was once a Canadian Tire and a Blockbuster Video in a new mixed use development. They have a wide offering of bubble teas, icy desserts and traditional Taiwanese style desserts. The interior is very modern and has a lot of cutesy artwork all around! I ordered a Mango Milk Tea (3.99). It was creamy and by no means watered down, but I found that the use of a light bulb cup to be a bit gimmicky more than anything else and it really reduced the volume of the cup. Decent place to hangout, but not a fan of the cups. read more
I had been wanting to go here for quite some time now, largely due to my love for shaved ice and its adorable aesthetic, and I finally got around to it. My friend and I went on a Saturday right at opening (4pm), and were able to snag a seat right away, but the restaurant quickly filled up by the time we left at 5pm, especially since there aren't many seats to begin with. From reading other Yelp reviews, it seemed like the lightbulb drinks were extremely disappointing, so we opted for the Watermelon / Melon shaved ice instead. It only took about 5min for our order to be made, and it was quite beautiful to say the least! We had watermelon and melon balls stacked on a melon shell, with a Melona popsicle on top. Not only was the presentation good, but the taste was great as well. The fruit was fresh, the shaved ice was the perfect amount of sweetness, and there was a separate container of condensed milk to pour at your own desire. Overall, I would definitely come back to this place and recommend it to friends! Although I do recommend sharing the watermelon shaved ice since it's quite large, and coming at an early time to avoid waiting. read more

Fairly new chilling spot for icy desserts and the place was busy and lots of selection on the menu. The mini melt ice pot was delightful and I think it was a little pricey. I would come back next time and try other delicious treats that they offer. read more
I found this place through the Hive (formerly Vancity Buzz). Its a big hype in terms of shave ice here in Vancouver. So it was highly recommended from a few foodie websites and even tourist websites. So decided to give this place a try. It seems like there are lots of desert places on Kingsway. Ordered the Melon Shaved ice and their light bulb drinks. It depends on how much shave ice you want. You could technically share the Melon Shaved Ice with 4 people. Yes its that big. Its not bad but it seems to be quite expensive. For $15 is more like for an experience or show. Its nothing really that special. Its really fine shaved ice with frozen melon. They give you exactly half a melon. I am guessing it depends how lucky you are because some melon are bigger than others. The desert is in fact very refreshing. The light bulb drinks is again a gimmick with the light bulb glass. It just looks cool to drink out of a light bulb. The drink is $3.99 which is quite reasonable. They have few choices and you can get them in green tea or soda. I would do the soda. I mean you can get green tea anywhere else. Very good refreshing soda. Decor is ok. Not like wow. Just a normal Asian desert place. read more
UPDATE: We visited again recently and they have upped their game with additions of a variety of shaved ice and bingsoo (shaved ice milk). There is also bubble egg and belgian style waffles on their menu now. With the hot dessert variety, they now offer a well rounded selection. The drink menu is equally varied. The staff remains courteous, explaining that some desserts will take time as they are freshly prepared. If you are having your dessert to stay, they hav table service and there is no need to queue - nice touch. The room should be busier given their offerings, but it's nice to have a quieter place to enjoy good conversation over some really nicely done desserts and drinks. Kudos 17°! read more

When arriving on a Saturday afternoon this place wasn't very busy at all. There was only one other table and that made me a little skeptical. After being there for maybe an hour it really started to fill up and that was quite reassuring. Regardless I was very excited because the ice pot and the bubble waffle looked DELICIOUS, and trust me it tasted just as good as it looked. We went with the mango ice pot and the matcha red bean bubble waffle and wasn't disappointed at all. Out of the two I would say that I definitely liked the ice pot more and being from America the exchange rate makes buying food even better! I'll be back when I'm in Canada next. read more

Service is awfully slow at this teenager run business. The light bulbs drinks are their main hype with a whopping $15 iced watermelon as their only surviving grace. Who the heck pays $15 for iced fruit? Apparently lots of Asian kids do. We arrived and ordered. My friend wanted the glutinous rice with coconut milk but after ring her up and paying for her ordered - she was told they ran out. Bummer! We ordered the light bulb drinks at 6:54pm and our first drink did not arrive until 7:24pm. 30 minutes of blankly starring into our phones. The place was fairly busy, but everyone already had their order. 30 minutes for a watered drink is really bad. It's just hype people! Asians taking pictures with their iPhones and posting it on social media. read more
Just opened this weekend. The place was busy, it attracts a young adult crowd. Instagrammers get you cameras ready! They have some photogenic desserts such as melon icy dessert served in a half melon and drinks served in light bulbs. Sorry to disappoint, but my wife & I stuck with the standards tonight - mango tapioca & glutinous rice with coconut milk. I thought that it was a bit of a wait for what is scoop and serve desserts. The mango tapioca had loads of mango flavour, but would've been better chilled instead of room temperature. The texture was too thick for my liking. The glutinous rice & coconut milk did not fair so well either. It was not sweet enough in my opinion. My wife said that the one I make at home is better as I like to add a bit of salt and sesame seed for more layers of flavour. That being said, I will come back to try the watermelon icy dessert as that looked impressive. read more
Went here with a friend and got a seat pretty quickly on a Saturday night. The interior is nicely decorated and the place looked pretty new, the cafe had a really nice ambience! The menu had an assortment of different desserts and drinks, different shaved ice, fruit bowls and bubble tea drinks. The prices seemed a bit on the expensive side but if you are going with a friend and sharing then its actually not too bad. We ended up having the Honeydew shaved ice and we were not disappointed. The snow is nice and fluffy and had just a bit of flavour so it wasn't like you were eating plain ice. There was also some sort of condensed milk sauce which was pretty good but the cup was maybe only 1/4 full. There were also passion fruit pearls decorated on our shaved ice as well as a Korean watermelon Popsicle. The honeydew tasted pretty good and had a slight crunch which contrasted the texture of the ice. For all those who love Instagram and sharing their foodie pictures, the presentation of the food here is really nice. Every time someone ordered something, you could see other people staring since the food looked so pretty. Overall, this is a nice, cute, clean shop. The service was okay (they forgot to bring our water) but they took the order pretty quickly and we didn't want long for the dessert. Definitely would come back to try the other desserts, or the light blub drinks, which look pretty cool but are pretty gimmicky. read more

Really cool place to get something a bit different and tasty. The watermelon and honey dew shaved ice was super delicious...the vanilla ice cream and condensed milk gave it the extra boost. The fruit bowl was cold and gave it a cool look. The drinks in the light bulb were a bit gimmicky...but still pretty cool. read more

As always, I came here to try some drinks out a lightbulb and a cool shaved ice treat... but to also take some cool looking pictures for IG. I got the pomegranate soda (I don't like milk). It was o my $3.99 which was a decent price. It sucks that you don't get to keep the lightbulb; if they made it more expensive, or at least the option to pay more to keep it, would have been cool. We also got the watermelon/honeydew shaved ice ($14.99). She also asked if we wanted mango on the top and of course we said yes. Everything did taste good, but it's not something I need to, or care to try again. read more

I ordered the honey pomelo tea. I was really hoping it would come in a light bulb but it didn't. I guess you have to ask? My friends smoothies also did not come in a lightbulb. But the Assam milk tea did come in a lightbulb. Taste wise the tea was slightly too sweet for me. The honey didn't come through the pomelo flavour unfortunately so I can't say I was fully satisfied with the drink. Tasted a bit more like a fruit infused sweet green tea. read more

Even though they are known for their watermelon icy, we decided it was too big for two people and not worth the $15 either. We decided to go with the mango ice pot instead, and a passionfruit green tea bulb drink. We found the mango ice very delicious and also very big for two people to finish. The bulb drink was very refreshing and aesthetically pleasing for Instagram. Something to note, we've been here twice, once in the summer and once in the winter, and ordered the mango ice pot both times. The amount of mangos in the summer doubled the amount of mangos in the winter (probably due to season). If we came with a bigger group of people we would probably try the watermelon icy, and we recommend the mango ice pot for sure. read more

I knew these fruit shaved ice desserts and presentation are complete copies from Elmar Offwhite in Bangkok. Anyway, when first coming into the place, it's definitely small and can get packed really quick. There's probably about 10 small tables. The night I went had only one waitress on a busy Saturday night. I don't know if she's had much experience and she looked like a teenager, but she seemed a bit lost I tried the Oreo shaved ice and the watermelon shaved iCe which were good. I knew it was going to take some time to get it. But I didn't expect to get the light bulb drinks long AFTER I have gotten the desserts. I came here after seeing a lot of hype about it on Instagram. So I got there when it opened at 4pm on a Sunday and the place a quite empty. We seated ourselves and shortly after ordering the place began to fill up very quickly, then a line began to form outside. This place is very good for photos since there are many items that can be used to enhance the food photos. What we ordered: 3 light bulb drinks, and a watermelon icy. The light bulb drinks are good ($4) for photos but they taste very artificial. The water melon icy was $15 and it was actually very cold and refreshing for a hot day. It's also very carefully constructed so it's very good for photos. Since there was a huge line and many people just stared at us while we were eating which was awkward and we felt pressured to eat faster and chat less so they wouldn't have to wait that long. Would I come back? Yes, but only for the watermelon icy. No more lightbulb drinks! read more
