Cute little local Korean dessert store! Inside is super aesthetic although I wish it was a bit brighter. Parking lot is also always empty. We ordered multiple shaved ices to share and they were all a hit! I'd like to come back to try their macarons. Staff are always very kind and accommodating.

When I came here after dinner, it was full of people, so I ordered a large injeolmi bingsoo for takeout. The cafe was quite busy so I had to wait for the bingsoo. It was worth the wait though! The server packed everything nicely in a box and put it in a cooler bag so it could keep it cold and it would not melt quickly. The cafe squeezed in a lot of ice in the container. I loved the injeolmi flavour. The bingsoo included injeolmi in layers so it was not just the ice. It also included some red bean paste and mochi. It was so so sooo good! It was much better than other ones I ate at Passion 8. The cafe was not cheap out on ingredients. Each bite of bingsoo included injeolmi. The soft ice was fluffy too! Mochi was chewy with injeolmi flavour as expected. I would love to go back and try other flavours and their croffles. Many customers offered croffles. They looked delicious! The server was friendly and welcoming. There is a free parking lot outside the cafe. Don't need to worry about parking.

The ice texture is really good, it's not icy at all which is what a bingsoo should be. It's soft and melts in the mouth.

Very busy on a Friday so ordered take out. Friendly staff and smells divine. Food packed nicely for take out. The Croffle was perfectly crispy with a layer of chewy mochi and red bean and nutty soy bean powder yummy would eat it again

I'll admit it: when I'm looking for Korean food, I don't usually go off the beaten path…read more There's a reason for that. Korean food is one of those cuisines where I've always subscribed to a simple theory: if Koreans aren't eating there, why should I? You can dress up a restaurant, put some Korean words on the menu and serve kimchi with just about anything, but eventually somebody has to judge the food. And Koreans, bless them, are not exactly known for suffering quietly through mediocre kimchi. So imagine my surprise when a little Korean restaurant in the middle of Richmond, BC, actually delivers. Daan is good. Properly good. And no, this isn't the place for the ubiquitous Korean BBQ experience that seems to have taken over the culinary landscape. No sizzling tabletop grills, no elaborate choreography, no fifteen-minute explanation of which piece of meat you're supposed to cook first. Daan is for something much more important: the Korean food you actually want when you're hungry and a little homesick for the food you grew up with. This is comfort food. The stews. The noodles. The hot-plate bulgogi. The stuff that arrives at the table steaming, fragrant and unapologetically familiar. The japchae is a definite yes. The bulgogi is worth ordering. And the galbi hits that sweet spot between substantial and satisfying--the kind of meal that reminds you why Korean food became a comfort food in the first place. There is one notable disappointment: the gamjatang, or pork bone stew. And that's a bit of a shame, because a great gamjatang can be the very definition of Korean soul food. Here, it just doesn't quite get there. So skip it and spend your calories elsewhere. Prices are pretty much what you'd expect in Vancouver--roughly ten percent more than Toronto, give or take. Then again, they don't hit you with PST on restaurant food, so by the time the bill arrives, we're more or less even. What I really like about Daan, though, is that it doesn't seem desperate to be anything other than a Korean restaurant. And in a city where Korean food can sometimes mean driving to Kingsway in Burnaby, heading all the way out to Coquitlam, or joining the latest Korean BBQ craze, there's something wonderfully satisfying about finding a place in Richmond that quietly gets the assignment. You want your kimchi fix? You shouldn't have to cross the Lower Mainland. Daan is proof that sometimes the little restaurant in the middle of nowhere is exactly where you should have been looking. Definitely recommended. Just don't order the gamjatang. Cheers!!!

The dining rooms looked pretty much the same when we walked in. The dishes we tried had a lot of flavour with quality ingredients, but what made our first visit to Elysium special was the staff. Everyone who helped us that night was so friendly and kind! I came here as a group of 7 and the waitress was so kind and patient in helping split the bill by individual items and shared items. The waiter who served us was also super friendly! I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who's looking for Korean food in Richmond.

This was probably the first time I came to eat during their dinner service, as a friend was dying to go and is a frequent lover of their menu. Overall, I have to say I was pleasantly impressed with their bbq. We ordered the marinated royal beef galbi and the premium royal beef galbi. The meat was tender and delicious. Their pork belly was good, but I really enjoyed the pink pickled radish on the side. Tofu soup was hearty and spicy, but the portion is on the smaller end (serves one small bowl to 5 people). Their rice cakes were delicious - perfectly soft and chewy with various seafood and fish cakes in the spicy sauce. I've personally had better pancakes, but my friend loves their seafood pancake and says it's her favourite. The side dishes really stood out to me. There were the classics (potato, kimchi, bean sprouts), but there were also other delicious dishes that I normally don't have, such as the crab and corn salad and various pickled vegetables. Honestly, they made great palate cleansers and made the meal so much more enjoyable. Service was prompt and smooth. The total was about $50 per person, which is not bad at all considering we were beyond stuffed. I think I would definitely choose other bbq places if I were willing to travel, but Sura is a great, reliable spot in a convenient location.

After waiting an unusually long time, we finally asked about our food and only then discovered that our order had never been entered. As a result, we wasted nearly two hours of our time. What made the experience even more frustrating was that they did not serve banchan or rice while we were waiting. In Korean restaurants, it is common courtesy to provide banchan and rice so customers have something to enjoy before the main dishes arrive. Instead, we sat there with nothing. It honestly felt like they were trying to avoid refilling the unlimited banchan rather than taking care of their customers. The food itself was only average and certainly not worth the excessive wait. As a Korean, I am very familiar with Korean food and the level of hospitality that customers should expect. Good Korean restaurants make guests feel welcome even when the kitchen is busy. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. Mistakes happen, but how a restaurant handles those mistakes says a lot about how much they value their customers. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

This place is busy! I would suggest booking ahead. Service is very friendly but hard to flag down because they are busy. The call button at the table didn't work. The food has big portions, especially the big pots. Normal price could be around $50+, but the budaejjigae is $37 here, and the pan was wide and deep. However, the downside was the taste. It does taste like normal Korean food, and things are a bit off. The budaejjigae feels like it didn't have dashi in it. The seafood green onion pancake was 90% imitation crab. Pajeons are supposed to be mainly green onion, but this felt like a cake of imitation crab only. Maybe a couple of pieces of green onion, cuttlefish, and shrimp. The fried chicken was ok. They serve free dessert at the end - feels like some pudding with sweet syrup. If you don't mind about taste and just want a lot of food for cheap then this is for you.

Beef King's twist is that they add cheese on top and they will melt the cheese with a hand torch in front of your table. Got a medium portion. Portion is big enough for two, and the contents were tasty. The sauce has a little tomato-ish flavor, and the beef along with pieces of potato and daikon have soaked up the flavor.
