The main reason I chose this place vs all the other dog boarding is because they offer a "home" living experience rather than a facility/warehouse. My dogs always freely roams the house and lays on our bed, couch, wherever they please so I wanted something similar and Wendy's house provided that. I couldn't bare the thought of them being kept in a narrow sleeping quarter locked throughout the day. Thank you for taking great care of my babies! August 11th The Day We Lost Louie…read more Our six-year-old French Bulldog, Louie, died from heatstroke just two and a half hours into what we were told would be a four-hour trial day at this daycare. We were told the purpose of the trial was simply to see whether Louie could get along with other dogs. We were never told that he would be taken to a dog park or participate in strenuous outdoor activity. We chose this daycare because the owner told us she owns a French Bulldog herself, and because the daycare had very good reviews. We trusted that our French Bulldog would be understood and properly cared for. What happened that day is something we will never forget. 9:00 AM -- We dropped Louie off for his four-hour trial. 9:30 AM -- Just 30 minutes later, Louie was taken to a dog park for outdoor activity without our knowledge. We had never been told that he would be taken off the daycare premises or to a dog park. The temperature that day ranged from approximately 77°F to 85°F. 10:18 AM -- According to the daycare, Louie vomited after the activity. We were not informed when it happened. 11:30 AM -- More than an hour after he vomited, we received a photo of his vomit. At the same time, we were communicating about payment and completing a reservation for his future stay. We were given no indication that Louie was experiencing a potentially life-threatening emergency. 11:45 AM -- We received a phone call telling us that Louie was not breathing. 12:00 PM -- Louie was pronounced dead from heatstroke. Our dog went into the daycare alive and healthy at 9:00 AM. By noon, he was dead. What is especially devastating is what we learned afterward. We were told that they had never seen Louie breathing so heavily before. We were also told that they had tried giving him water, but he was vomiting. For a French Bulldog, excessive panting, vomiting, and difficulty breathing in hot conditions can be serious warning signs of overheating and heatstroke. French Bulldogs are particularly vulnerable to heat because of their shortened airways and difficulty cooling themselves efficiently through panting. Yet during the critical period when Louie was apparently struggling, we received no immediate warning and no update about his condition. The owner was also not present at the daycare at the time. We later learned that she had a doctor's appointment, which contributed to a delay in communication. While the adults were dealing with schedules, appointments, and communication, Louie was suffering--and we knew nothing. This was supposed to be a simple four-hour trial to see whether Louie could socialize with other dogs. We never agreed to have him taken to a dog park in temperatures reaching 85°F. We never imagined that he would be subjected to strenuous outdoor activity in hot weather. We are devastated that Louie was placed in this situation while in someone else's care. We trusted this daycare because we believed they understood French Bulldogs. That trust was shattered in the worst possible way. Louie was in their care. We trusted them to keep him safe. We expected him to come home. He never did. Louie was not just a dog. He was part of our family, and we will never get him back.

She cared for my senior cat when she was sick and in her final week and gave me detailed updates so I knew when to cut my trip short to some home to her, cared for my new kitten, cleaned up broken glass and a lot of kitty barf, cleaned up when ants where going after the cat food, and showed my kitties lots of love! I always come home to empty trash cans, clean litter boxes and happy kitties. She even gave me a housewarming gift and gifted my kitties Christmas treats and toys! Christina is wonderful and I trust her 110% with my kitties and my home. I appreciate her so much because as much as I miss my kitties when away, I have peace of mind knowing she's there to keep them happy and safe! When my kitties broke a vase and she came in to broken glass everywhere, she let me know right away and made sure my cats were OK and had no cuts first, then did a wonderful job cleaning up (I didn't find any glass when I got home!) And she's just a nice person too - whenever I'm on the phone with her, we always end up chatting about her kitties too, so I know she's truly a "cat person" (which not all my pet sitters have been.) She did this at a point where I took my dog as a last ditch effort. My dog has extreme allergies (both food and environmental) and scratches ALL day long (if she's not eating or sleeping, she is scratching). Her skin was in terrible condition and she had been ripping her hair out and causing hot spots. When I say I took the dog in horrible condition, I am not exaggerating. Our Vet has given us advice (guesses) and given the dog prescriptions, supplements, injections, and tests....with ZERO improvement! I've spent thousands of dollars trying to get our dog healthy and nothing ever helped! Based on a recommendation to take Gracie to The Spaw I dove in telling myself this is the last time. If this fails, we will just do the best to let her live her life out as comfortably as possible, which is a sad place to be as a dog mom. She's not even 7 years old and she still has a lot of life to live. Meeting Carrie was the best thing that has ever happened to our dog! She recommended some specific testing and said that Shih Tzus often have low Zinc which can lead to skin issues. We had her tested by a Vet and sure enough, her Zinc was SO LOW!!! She made some suggestions about supplements we could give her. At a follow up test, we could see some improvement in her Zinc levels. She also said that it looks like my dog had mange and that Shih Tzus are also susceptible to mites. Our Vet never once mentioned that as a potential cause nor did she test for mange. We did a skin scraping with a different Vet who found no mites, but she suggested we put her on a mite medication for a couple of months. The stuff that came out of/off my dog was disgusting (old die off???)! Through skin cytology, we also confirmed Gracie had serious yeast overgrowth. That was not a mystery to me, because our house smelled so bad! I didn't even like to have people over because it was so embarrassing. Carrie gave Gracie sulfur baths and used some other amazing technologies on her; Ozone baths, red light, blue light, and micro bubbles to name a few. It was a lot of work, but I can tell you for the first time in years, I'm actually optimistic about Gracie's future AND my house no longer smells disgusting. We boarded her for a period of time so we could do some deep cleaning and reset our house before she returned. I'm so glad I made that initial call to The Spaw. Carrie truly loves my dog and my dog loves Carrie! When we drive to The Spaw my dog knows. When we hit Tustin Ranch Road from the 5 Freeway, Gracie starts going crazy! When we get there, she practically jumps out of the car. Thankfully, her harness is clipped in, so she can't get out of her car seat without help. ;) On the subject of Boarding: I love that The Spaw has staff on the premises 24 hours a day and that the dogs aren't locked in crates all day. I am so grateful to see my dog's hair growing back and for her to have noticeably more energy and MUCH less scratching! Carrie clearly loves animals and is a true blessing. She admitted that my dog's issues forced her to do deep dive research to find help for Gracie. I will forever be grateful for the life she has given back to my dog! She is much more than "a groomer!"

Most of the time, our dog's cut is incredibly cute though once in a while there is a slight miss. They will usually try to get you the look you want and make adjustments as requested. The only note is that pricing jumped near 10% at least two years in a row. With tip, it can cost nearly $150 or more for a small dog cut, which does seem pricier. Would love to see price increases calm down so we don't get priced out of affording their services. With that said, we still keep going because it's hard to find the level of service and good to great grooming technique used by the Spaw. We have not used other services here so will not comment on that. Plenty of parking and decent availability, but I would call at least a couple of weeks in advance for scheduling. We've been bringing our pups to the Jamboree location for quite a while, and up until the beginning…read moreof this year, we had nothing but positive experiences. Last year, we brought them frequently and always felt confident leaving them there. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the facility felt clean, and our dogs always seemed happy to be there. That's why it's so disappointing to see how much things have changed since the ownership transition. Since the change in ownership, we've noticed a significant decline in the overall experience. The staff no longer feels as friendly or approachable. While there are still a few kind employees, several team members come across as cold and unhelpful, making drop-off feel uncomfortable and even a bit intimidating. It no longer feels like the warm, welcoming environment it once was. We've also noticed the facility doesn't seem nearly as clean as it used to be. Our dogs consistently come home smelling strongly of urine after daycare. We occasionally check the live cameras throughout the day and frequently see urine sitting on the playroom floors for extended periods before being cleaned up. If messes in the common play areas are left unattended, it raises concerns about how often the kennels are being cleaned when the dogs are resting. Combined with the odor our dogs come home with, it has made us question the overall cleanliness of the facility. Another noticeable change is how little time our dogs now seem to spend in the play areas. We'll pay for a half-day of daycare, and by the time we pick them up, we're lucky if they've spent more than 30 minutes interacting with other dogs. The majority of their visit appears to be spent kenneled. We choose daycare because we want our dogs to have a safe, clean environment where they can socialize and play. If they're spending most of their visit in a kennel, it's difficult to justify paying for daycare when they could be comfortably resting at home in a cleaner environment for free. Customer service has also become frustrating. Recently, one of our dogs came home without his collar. We didn't realize it until we got home, so we called the facility and were told someone would call us back because they were too busy at the moment. We never received a callback. After calling several more times over the next few days without getting an answer, we ultimately had to drive to the facility ourselves just to ask about and retrieve the collar. Pickup has also become much slower than it used to be, often requiring a long wait before our dogs are brought out. We're genuinely disappointed because we loved this location for a long time and trusted the team with our pets. Unfortunately, since the ownership change, we've experienced a noticeable decline in cleanliness, customer service, and the overall level of care. We hope these concerns are taken seriously because we'd love to see this location return to the high standard that made us loyal customers in the first place.
