I've already rated this, but date night with hubby brought us here again. The service is great. We're always being checked on without it being annoying. The decor is beautiful no matter what part of the restaurant you're in. And the food! Wow! The food. Amazing as usual. I wasn't that hungry after eating a whole bucket of popcorn earlier, so we didn't order as much as we usually do. Hubby order the fried calamari which you think is boring until you taste it. The Crunch is superb and the calamari isn't rubbery. He got the veal parmigiano as a main. I got the whole roasted cauliflower to start and homemade rigatoni with broccoli rabe as an entree. Most of it came home to have full meals for 2 more days. I recommend this place highly. read more

My wife and her fellow nurses have events at this restaurant, so we went for lunch today and the lunch menu is better than some full service choices at other restaurants! Our food was FANTASTIC the portions are equally so! The service even for a lunch time was 5 star! Professional courteous and you don't need to ask for anything! The sauce is like from a Sicilian family, pasta cooked exactly and sausage and meatballs are a must! My wife bragged about the food and service and she is right! This in now one of my favorites. Ya know it's been awhile Passione but you deserve 5 Stars now. Why? Because I said so! No really... Passione deserves 5 stars from my beau and I. We have gone frequently to meet up with his aunt and uncle and on the most recent trip to celebrate our engagement with them. When I tell you the food is still amazing as ever you better believe it. We were also congratulated several times by wait staff and I presume the manager which was super nice. We also loved the music this visit. So much so that we figured out who the guy was that's singing because the beau wants him to sing for our rehearsal dinner which may be a little bit extra but it's okay. Will we continue to be back? Five stars is truly not enough. I came here with my wife and we really enjoyed. Came back two weeks later and enjoyed more. Came back a few weeks later with friends... FANTASTIC. The restaurant is located in a nice size shopping center so there is plenty of parking. It is easy to make both a left or right into the center. From the time that I started this review to finishing it, I have made more visits here. This spot is just terrific. This is a very large restaurant with a pizzeria attached. As you enter, you come into a large bar waiting area. It's very comfortable lighting and decor. We are always greeted with warm hellos from multiple people. They truly value their customers. Every dish I have had here has been fantastic. Everything is cooked well, seasoned perfectly and packed with flavor. I had the Open Faced Lasagna Bolognese on my first visit and it truly blew me away. Extremely creative way of making a one dimensional lasagna. The baked clams are terrific, and I loved the meatballs. The standards are terrific, chicken and eggplant parm, sausages, fish, etc... My wife loved the grilled chicken and Broccoli Rabe. Simple and delicious. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough for a nice evening (or lunch). they are a very large shop with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. If you're familiar w the area- there's some fierce competition for Italian restaurants. I might not travel for Passione but if you're in the area it's a good choice The inside is very pretty and the food is decent. The chicken vodka parm is a standout here. Sauce is perfect- chicken is crispy. 10/10 (this dish could compete with the other Italian spots nearby and win) . The tiramisu is also great- highly recommend. If you're coming from the west on old country rd...the turn into the parking lot is a nightmare. Try to come from the east if you can...it's really that terrible. read more

Our 1st visit to Passione Della Cucina. I guess reading all the reviews on Yelp I expected more than what we received tonight. We arrived earlier than expected & the person behind the bar made a remark not sure why especially when the place is empty at 6pm. We ordered cocktails & the server managed to drop it on my husband by accident but sadly pretended it didn't happen. We started off with Caesar Salad but it was dry. For Appetizers we had the meatballs which were ok. Salamon was probably the best thing on the menu. Black Spaghetti pescatore was definitely not favorite. Pasta was hard & clumpy, the clams were tiny & most of the mussels were closed. Unfortunately the waiter & server what not readily available when you need them. Had dinner with the family yesterday--our first time visiting Passione post-covid. While the food is still very good, the service and overall dining experience was not the same as it used to be. We had a 6:15pm reservation. While the bar was full, the rest of the restaurant was not busy at all. We were not greeted warmly, as in the past. We were just told to check in at the bar. There were several employees standing around up front, but apparently none were performing host/hostess duties. We were sat in the back room, where there were only at tables of people dining already. Both had water carafes and bread on the table. We had to ask for water, after sitting for 15 minutes with just bread. No one took our drink order. 20 minutes after that (after we'd already eaten our appetizers and the entree were served), we had to ask again (the bus boy this time, not our server) for water, on order to finally get some. An employee was cleaning the (decorative) marble bar counter a few feet away from our table, and the smell of the cleaning products was intense. The service by our waiter was inattentive at best. We were only checked on once during the entire meal, and had to ask for the dessert menu. It seemed like he had no motivation to try and sell us any extras. We were a party of 4 (including a 5yr old and an elderly person) and he was subsequently sat with a party of 4 young ladies (all drinking heavily) and gave them A LOT more attention and what looked like much better service. As the restaurant now charges a service fee for credit card payments (which I believe is illegal), we decided to pay with cash. The bill was $150. We put two $100 bills on the table and our waiter, Jose, walked past the money at least 5x--never stopping to ask if we needed change. I was about to go to the bartender to ask. It was just shockingly different than our many experiences at Passione. A disappointing welcome back, indeed. On the bright side, the food was still solid. The meatballs were moist and delicious (you now get 2 instead of 3 for the appetizer). The homemade pastas were cooked perfectly al dente. The carafe of sangria was refreshing. And the cheesecake was delicious (especially the mini cannoli on top of the dessert). Unfortunately for Passione, they are not the only Italian restaurant in the area that serves tasty food. We'll still with those who make their customers feel welcome and valued. Service is as import as food. read more

Friendly staff, great bartender making great drinks along with a wonderful Italian menu makes for a terrific evening out! We had drinks at the bar and chatted with the bartender for a while before dinner. You feel so at home from this first experience. I had a refreshing Aperol Spritz and my wife had a tequila drink with jalapeños, reasonably priced and well made. We sat promptly with our favorite waiter (can't remember his name but he's tall and bald and has a wonderful accent). We had a well prepared artichoke appetizer and chopped salad (highly recommend the creamy Italian). The food was excellent, the service was good, but the attitude was appalling. We were a group of 13 ladies on a Sunday afternoon at 4PM at a very empty Passione restaurant. I asked for separate checks, which could not be accommodated. I then asked for 1 separate check just for me, since I was the only one who was paying by credit card. I offered to sit at another table by myself. That could not be done either. I asked for Emilio, who was not there, but when he was reached by phone, was not flexibale either. As a result, dividing up the check among all of us (which had some wrong pricing on it) took ages, The waiter could not take my payment until all other paid cash. Why? Because the restaurant's sytem added a credit card service charge to ALL entrees, not just mine. When all was said and done, I was told we still owed $10, even though we had all tipped more than 20%. In the area for a swim meet. Called last minute to see if they could accommodate a party of 4 and it was a yes! As soon as we stepped inside we were impressed. The restaurant is beautiful and our service was fantastic. The food was delicious! We ordered the homemade rigatoni with meatballs with a scoop of ricotta (my daughter & I shared this, still had some pasta leftover too), my son had the American pizza with pepperoni and my husband had the spicy rigatoni and added grilled chicken . While waiting for our friends to arrive, we sat at the bar for a glass of wine and we couldn't help ourselves to notice the board in front of us showing the happy hour from 4:30-6:00pm with amazing drinks and food on the menu! I was at PDC for a baby shower over a weekend. This review is based on the food for a private event as opposed to food served in the proper restaurant. The food was delicious! So yummy! I always get nervous when I have Italian food because I have a severe allergy to pine nuts which I know is found in some Italian cuisine. As a result, I always ask the wait staff to ensure that my food is pine nut-free. The event started with a bread basket and some drinks. We also got an appetizer platter of a rice ball, a small salad, and a meatball. I had never had a rice ball before! I thought it was delicious. It was covered in some cheese and a light but tasty sauce. We were next brought out a small bowl of penne à la vodka. Next came the main course: chicken Parm for me. Other options were chicken francese, eggplant Parm, and some form of pasta. While the glowing mommy-to-be opened her mountains of gifts, the wait staff was wonderful. They all wore masks and gloves while interacting with shower guests. We were offered espresso and some desserts as the event drew to a close. I had a delicious cannoli. There was also tiramisu and cheesecake available. I thought the entire event space was beautiful and I greatly appreciated the fact that the staff was all wearing masks. Frequent here often but quickly have changed my tune after being hung up on my someone who answered the phone and refused to answer my question about my reservation that they couldn't find despite making it 2 weeks in advance. He told me not to "cause problems" and refused to tell me how I make a reservation going forward considering they say they are on open table and are NOT, the link on the website doesn't work and clearly calling ahead is not reliable. They have lost a frequent customer and I will not order from the attached Emilio's pizzeria anymore either. How dare you hang up on a customer! read more

Came here for dinner with some friends and had a 7:15 reservation, and faced a 30 minute wait and were not seated until 7:50. That automatically knocked one star off the experience - why take reservations if it's the same wait as a walk-in? As appetizers, we ordered the margherita pizza and the fried mozzarella ball pyramid. The pizza was pretty good and had a nice flavor, but the cheese in the fried mozzarella tasted substandard - almost like a string cheese quality cheese was balled up and fried. Definitely would not recommend getting that. The pastas were good - though I prefer a bit more Al Dente - but the sauce on my rigatoni napolitano was enjoyable and my friends enjoyed their mains as well. The white sangria pitcher we shared was delicious. All in all, a serviceable restaurant, though probably not worth the price. read more

This used to be one of my favorite places. For YEARS my family has been regulars. We've celebrated life milestones and my moms job frequents their holiday party here. So lots of $ spent. However I will not be back. A couple of Sundays ago, my boyfriend called (on speakerphone) to make a mother's day reservation for a few hours later. Sergio (the owner) picked up, mumbled something and hung up abruptly. We were confused so we called back and he picked up again. I said hi because i was familiar with him and Sergio nastily said "I SAID table is ready" and slammed the phone again. I was so outraged because he didn't even let me explain anything like reservation time or ask any subsequent questions, I called a third time to express my dismay and again he picked up, was nasty and slammed the phone down. For those of us who know Passione, we know Sergio isn't always the most pleasant which is fine, but this was the last straw. We will not be patronizing your business any longer. . read more

We made a reservation for 11 people at 5:30. We arrived at 5:30, with 8 people and were advised we had to wait, the hostess tried to give 8 people a table for 6. We later found out our table was given away because the cook told her to seat everyone. We ultimately had to split from our family and have 2 tables for 4. The service was slow and we were over charged for a salad that should have been included. My niece placed an order for her husband who was working and the waiter forgot to put it in. She wound up with leftover pizza. When we asked to speak to Emilio we were told he was home. Later, I asked to speak to a manager and was advised he left. Ultimately, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences we ever encountered. I would never, never recommend this restaurant to anyone. We found a great spot at the end of the bar, great bartender John greeted us immediately! He was busy as can be but gave us menus and a wine list then came back go or our order. We selected a delicious bottle of red and just sat back. We chatted with some very lovely young ladies as we placed our appetizer and dinner order! Although the place was packed , we never felt rushed. We shared a delicious BLT chopped salad and then the"Margarita Pie"! Our gracious Host, Emilio checked on us and made us feel like family! Our waiter was very nice giving us an assortment of a bread basket which I must say the pizza bread is one of my FAVES!!. As a starter we ordered, fritte calamari. Which came out very quickly, thank goodness cause my stomach was rumbling from the aroma of food in the air. The fritte calamari was cooked to perfection not rubbery at all, and loved the touch of marinara on the bottom surface of the plate. For my entree, I had ordered the eggplant parm casserole, and my lovely foodie partner ordered the baked ziti with meat.. with the baked ziti you have a choice of meatless ziti or with the chopped meat. My eggplant casserole was cooked to perfection!!! The sauce was nicely flavorful! My lovely foodie partner ziti was cooked just as great, and loved the side of Parmesan, so you can sprinkle more cheese. Only issue was that there was no meat in the ziti!! But we was so hungry we didn't care about the mistake. At the end with your bill they gave us two little pieces of biscotti which was nicely hard and crunchy with beautiful almond tones to the mini dessert. Had dinner here last night. My friend and I split the grilled tomato and burrata salad for an appetizer. It was delicious. The grilled tomatoes were a little warm and it tasted great with the cheese. My friend had the gnocchi in a white sauce for her dish which was really good. I chose the rigatoni napoletano. The rigatoni were gigantic. I've never seen such large pasta before. The sauce was delicious. The only bad thing was the pasta was over cooked. Still everything was delicious. Service was good we didn't have to ask for anything or long for anyone. I am so thrilled I decided to give it a try. Simply delicious is all I can say. Their flat bread pizza was outstanding and the meal I had - forgot the name - penne vodka (menu had spicy vodka sauce but I opted for plain vodka sauce), noodles and shrimp with bread crumbs was simply out of this world good. Since the moment we walked in we had to stand around the table waiting for them to bring the high chairs.. waited for an hour before appetizers came. When the pasta came for the kids, it was not what we ordered (after we reiterated the order 3x). Had to inquire about why everything was taking so long and the waiter was aloof. I've been to Passione 3 times now and all 3 times hit! The latest time was last Thursday. I met up for dinner with a friend I hadn't seen in 25 years! We were seated and taken care of by the sweetest server this side of Carle Place. Her name is Melissa and she'll treat you as if it's her own restaurant. She was warm, friendly, and recommended dinner options that turned out to be the perfect choice. Instead of penne ala vodka, Melissa suggested the rigatoni napolitano. It was so good I got sauce on my white blouse and didn't even stop eating to save my shirt! What really stood out to me about this place was the superb service. At the end of the night even after we had paid our bill, Melissa hung around to make sure we didn't need anything else. I'm not sure how long she's worked there, but Passione should hold onto her for dear life. She (and of course the delicious food!) are worth returning a fourth time for! read more

Update: the last two times we ate here was not so good. I ordered shrimp scampi. The shrimp were tough and over cooked. The last time we came, I had the red snapper. I've been here several times and tonight was the best experience we've had here. The food is always great but tonight we met the owner Emelio, and he was great. He gave us recommendations and backed them with a chance to change our order if we didn't like his recommendations. The appetizers, he recommended were amazing, flat bread pizza, clams and meatballs that rivaled my Italian grandmother. The pork entree that he recommended was awesome. For drinks I ordered their peach margarita which tasted AMAZING and gave me a decent buzz. I ordered some baked clams for starters which I didn't think were too bad.
