    On the house !!

One of the hidden gems in Garden City , I must say !! If you are in the Roosevelt Field Mall area , definitely stop by here!! It was so welcoming , felt the family vibes. I came in with my nieces and nephew and they love Italian food , but never finish it. Luckily for me , this place had a kids menu with their favorites. Food , we decided to go right into it and order the entree as the kids eat a little . But the restaurant brought out fresh breads and bread with tomatoes and salami on the house. I customized mine with penne vodka with breaded chicken cutlet and fresh mozzarella and it was DELICIOUS!! Service - 10/10 Our server Gabby was on-point WiFi - Not Sure Ambiance - 10/10 Cozy Feeling Reservation- Not Needed , got seated right away Parking - Metered in Front

The food was on5 stars however yeh restaurant is outdated and lacked ambience . We waited for a few minutes before being seated and a few minutes before being served. The staff was not very friendly or engaging. I had passed this restaurant often and wanted to try it.

For appetizers, we had the meatballs which were decent but the fried capellini cakes were over cooked and dry. For dinner we had the linguine & white clam sauce which was delicious, very tasty! My husband had the pork chops alla bruna. Overall was good but the pork chop was a little too well done and dry. Dessert was a trio and they were so kind to give my husband a slice of chocolate cake for his bday. Sadly I think the desserts fell short. The chocolate cake & brownie were both cold like just out of the fridge, too hard almost stale. The cake was not tasty, I usually don't pass up chocolate cake but did this time. The cheesecake was good and cannoli was okay (may have been better if it wasn't drizzled with chocolate sauce). The linguine & clams was the favorite of the night and the reason for the 4 star, along with the staff & service.

Purchased a Groupon deal and this family owned bistro didn't disappoint. The owner and staff are extremely pleasant and gave us the true sense of "Home" meal. We felt so relaxed even on a busy Saturday dinner service. I'm thoroughly impressed with how everything was prepared to perfection and definitely will be back soon.

Nice ambiance, very friendly staff who make you feel at home and know a lot of people by name, but the service was a little slow. Food was pretty good although some of the dishes I have had better at other locations. The baked clams oregano were pretty good and the cannoli was pretty good even though little Italy will always be better. Was not too impressed with the lasagna. They gave us free dessert for entire table since we were celebrating a birthday. I would definitely try again and see if service is any faster.

Eric's Bistro is located on Old Country Road, where the decorative lights adorn their awning and welcome you. There is ample parking in the lot behind the building. Upon entrance, you'll see a large bar on the right and room for tables to seat couples and one party of 5. Around the bend is a bigger room with larger tables, all spaced out. The decor is purposeful and quite beautiful, with columns adorning the walls. Italian music plays at a comfortable volume from above. Each person we walked past smiled from under their masks and welcomes us. We were a party of 6. Our server, Tom, was very friendly and patient. One of our friends was running late but he brought us the complimentary bruschetta and bread basket (filled with an assortment of bread and flatbreads). The appetizers ordered were: fried calamari, baked clams, mushroom risotto. The marinara served with the fried calamari was chunky and fresh, not overpowered with garlic. The calamari was fresh, crispy, and seasoned to perfection. The mushroom risotto was creamy and quite a large portion for an appetizer. The baked clams, which are my "litmus test" for returning to a venue, stole the show. For clam lovers, it was the perfect t balance of breadcrumb, fresh whole clam, and a lemon sauce that led me to take a piece of bread and mop it up. Our entrees: veal sorrentino, chicken Francese, filet of sole marrechiara, ravioli, seafood fra diavolo. The chicken was a huge portion of two large thick cutlets served with linguini. The veal sorrentino offered three large pieces and pasta as well. My friends raved over the ravioli and fra diavolo. I had higher expectations for the filet of sole. It was fishy (and I'm a seafood lover). It was layered with a delicious marinara sauce and surrounded by mussels and clams. Sautéed spinach was its accompaniment, which I throughly enjoyed. For dessert we had the tiramisu, Italian cheesecake, and I enjoyed my cafe caramelo. It was divine! I'm looking forward to returning here. They also offer family meals for curbside pickup and have a seafood special on Tuesdays nights and a steak special on Wednesdays. Next time, don't just drive by. Stop in and check it out!

After my first experience dining at Eric's (vs just takeout) I'm upgrading to 5 stars. Good service but more importantly delicious food. I enjoyed the lasagna a lot which is a rarity in a restaurant. Will return.

Holy moly! I always wondered why the place was always packed! Now I understand. The food was amazing and the place is actually really spacious, from the looks of the outside it seems small and parking sucks but the spot and bar and customer service is always working hard and amazing! Ambiance was sweet, came for our holiday party!

Temporary hours for takeout only during the current restaurant shutdown are 4 PM to 8:30 PM Tuesday to Sunday. They're on Uber Eats and Grubhub, but you can also call in your order which I recommend as they cheerfully accommodate your reasonable special requests. Full dinner menu is available plus bottles of wine to go and they have put together a great package meal for two (or for four). I have just posted a picture of that. I have dined in here maybe four times over last year or so. It's small and cozy. Sometimes I found the dining room a bit too cozy, because if a noisy group is in there, there is really no escape. That's really my only negative so let's get past it. Service is warm and friendly and the staff makes you feel like they really appreciate you. There is free parking available after 5 PM in a nearby lot. If it's earlier on a (normal) weekday parking would be more of a challenge. Food is very tasty, freshly prepared rich and flavorful sauces, tender quality meats, and let me tell you, the best mixed vegetables ever. This is not your typical mixed vegetable boring plate filler. They are garlicky and perfectly seasoned, sautéed nice and just soft enough. We are losing weight on a low carb regimen and often sub vegetables for pasta. It is a delight to do so at Eric's. Give them a try and you'll be glad you did.

Glad I stopped. After shopping early on a Friday, we were looking for a place to dine. Must have passed Eric's many times, glad I stopped. Been back 3 times in 8 days. This restaurant offers unique ideas in Italian fare, the like I've not seen before, (see the menu). The double cut pork chop (see picture) has the option of one or two, I'm not sure who could eat two. Devine pairing of the large pork with hot red pepper in a nice glaze. Great appetizers, but don't pass their flat breads (picture included) because they are great. The tomato sauce and meatball flat bread is unforgettable. Come visit, you will enjoy

Came here with my family for my birthday. We had a friendly greeting and seated immediately. We entered through the bar then went to the dining room, very quaint and appealing. To start with we were given bread with butter, olive oil, cheese, salami and bruschetta. Our waiter Cedric came over and gave us a friendly greeting. We ordered a craft of sangria and fried calamari for an app we all shared. For dinner my daughter and I had the Penna Norma, (Roasted Eggplant, Basil, Mariana & Ricotta), my wife had the Chicken Sorrentino and my other daughter had the Rigatoni Pesto. All our food came out in a timely manner, hot and all tasted great. Our waiter Cedric was very courteous, attentive and polite. Overall a great experience. I highly recommend Eric's and will return.

Brazilian lobster tail tea Diablo. Not on the menu. If you're nice they will likely go out of their way.

Lazy summer Saturday called for Lobster. We stumbled into a neighborhood gem where we had the confidence that they knew how to impress with the juicy crustacean. Voila. Here you go. Enjoy. We sure did.

I'm ashamed to live 5 minutes away yet had no idea this place existed. I saw it mentioned like a million times in a local facebook group so I bookmarked it with the idea to eventually come here. My dad's birthday rolled around and we decided to come here. Groupon popped up letting me know hey we got a deal for you! lol. Anyway the food was delicious, such a nice place and we will definitely be back in the future. Places like this remind me not all the good food is only in NYC :P

We only waited about 5 minutes on a Friday night... surprisingly quick! You can't go to a clam bar without ordering clams!!! Raw Clams: Fresh, large, and served with cocktail sauce and horseradish. Can't go wrong! Baked Clams: A must order! The breading was flavorful, and had the perfect crispy crunch. Mussels in White Wine Sauce: Generous portion with fresh mussels. The white wine sauce was rich, buttery, and perfect for dipping bread. Seafood Salad: My favorite was the calamari. It was perfectly tender with a bouncy texture, not rubbery/chewy. It also came with shrimp, scallops, mussels, and large crunchy croutons. Vincent's Classic Combination: We chose the fried calamari and fried shrimp. The breading was light, crispy, and not oily. The sauce leaned on the sweeter side, even though we requested it spicy. My only complaint is that I wish it came with more linguine. Napoleon: Light, flaky, and not overly sweet. A great way to end the meal. Overall, fresh seafood in generous portions with classic Italian flavors. If you're looking for a solid seafood spot, this one is definitely worth a visit! Highly recommend!

I had to change plans quickly as I looked at the specials they had going on that day wow! We decided to go with the duck and the monkfish main course entrees instead. Life is about making the right choices and this was the best decision I made that day lol! The duck was cooked to perfection soft on the inside crispy on the outside wow! I really like how juicy and fatty the duck was very succulent and delicious yummy. I especially liked the wine sauce on top among taste sweet with a slight tart to it juts the right balance I was impressed. Definitely one of the best duck dishes I've ever had it's a special so I'm not sure if it will be available when you decide to go call ahead would be my suggestion and your best bet. Laslty the side with butter squash was also a delight to eat and treat! Second course was the monkfish which was great as well. It had a slightly Smokey flavor to my pallet and a slight crunch on the outside maybe it was torched or seared not sure. Whatever the case it was a great touch to the dish very tasty and juicy as well. I love the sauce and the sides were great mashed potatoes with broccoli yummy! I highly recommend this place for brunch, lunch, or dinner take your pick. They will not disappoint you at all that's for sure. The parking situation was not too bad on early evening during the weekday, but I could totally see it get out of hand on the weekends, so plan accordingly. We were sat right away and the lovely server dropped a basket of bread while we peered through the menu. The free bread is quite good. We were all starving, so the cheesy chewy bread was great to munch on. I am also much more forgiving about a bit of wait for food if there is free bread being offered. It was also nice because we were seated right by the kitchen window, so it was like getting a dinner and a show. We got the Saporite, which reminded me of a Costco chicken bake with its creamy innards punctuated by grilled chicken. This is my brothers favorite, and I could see why. We also had the spaghetti seafood, which was so richly flavored with the seafood. I'm not sure I ever had Italian pasta so full of that umami seafood flavor. Truly wow. The ravioli verde was something we got to add something not-tomato based & it was an excellent choice. The sauce was verdant and creamy. The ravioli filling didn't feel like straight ricotta but I liked whatever they had done to it! The chicken parm was also a solid choice, good breading on hefty cutlets of chicken and a nice helping of charred cheese on top. We liked every single dish, and the portions were more than enough to feed all of us and leave leftover for the next day. I was especially touched by the professionalism of the young servers during what was becoming an increasingly crowded dinner service. We got extra bread, waters filled, and to go boxes promptly. The hype was surprisingly real. I guess I should not be surprised that a place that's been around since my childhood has withstood the test of time because it was good. Will revisit soon for lunch service.

They both were good however. The table was also presented with a serving of Calamari Fritté. I did not taste it. I don't know what they put on that rolls, but they came out warm with like a sweet glaze on the top. I'm assuming some kind of maple butter. I had three of those. Don't tell anyone Also as an appetizer was Tomato Bruschetto with pistachio pesto. I also have way too much of that. It was delicious and fresh. One main ain course was Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo. I don't eat shrimp so I can't tell you how that was. The other was Rigatoni alla Vodka which was very rich and good. Sauce tasted homemade and not out of the bottle like some places. I also grabbed another piece of bread with that. But again we won't talk about that. We have two proteins. One was Chicken Francese. It was very tender. A light crisp on the outside in a nice flavorful sauce. The other protein was Grilled Salmon in a butter herb sauce. I only had a few bites of salmon. I rarely eat salmon out because I don't know how it's sourced. The flavor was fine however. For dessert, they had fruit and a couple of cakes. One cake served was Gigi's Butter Cake. I think they put some crack in it because it is addictive. Very rich, buttery and served warm! I ate one there and took one home. Shhhhhhhh The other cake was New York style cheesecake. I thought I was losing my mind until I checked my text messages and saw they sent a confirmation text asking me to press 1 to confirm or 2 to cancel. I was sleeping and didn't even see it until about an hour and a half later. Huge turn off. I called and thankfully they added me back, but it definitely started the experience off wrong. Once we arrived, we checked in and sat at the bar while waiting for our table. The bartender took about 25 minutes just to acknowledge me and take my drink order, which was disappointing. When we finally got seated, I realized they were only offering a prix-fixe family-style menu for Mother's Day. I understand limited menus on holidays, but I think each guest should still have the option to choose their own entrée because not everyone likes the same foods. I asked if we could add an extra appetizer, and our waitress who was very nice checked with the manager and they accommodated us. The issue was they didn't bring the extra appetizer out until after the entrées came. At that point it made no sense, and when I asked if they could remove it from the bill, they wouldn't accommodate that. Now for the food: Chicken Parmesan: slightly burnt and lacked flavor Beef medallions: needed salt and seasoning Lasagna: way too much ricotta cheese Shrimp scampi: honestly tasted like a 3-year-old made it -- just noodles and barely seasoned shrimp with almost no butter sauce Not everything was bad though: The bread was amazing Calamari was decent Meatballs were really good Cheesecake was amazing Sangria was very good and definitely gave me a little buzz The table service outside of the bar was actually great, and the portion sizes were generous. Ambiance was ok, bar just looked messy. They probably should have more than one bartender at a busy restaurant like this. Especially on Mother's Day. Overall, I probably wouldn't return unless I specifically wanted the meatballs and sangria.

We began our dining experience munching on a scrumptious basket of garlic bread. I've found, over my many years of dining, that restaurants that serve a great bread basket always follow it up with great food, and this was Mauro. After reviewing a litany of appetizer items, we chose absolutely delicious artichokes oreganata. We followed the appetizer with an order of luscious eggplant parmigiana along with perfectly cooked al dente rigatoni. We also ordered gnocchi with a sublime pomodoro sauce. The sauce was not something typically seen, in as much it contained a nice quantity of onions. For dessert we had a debate between chocolate cake or a cannoli, keeping in mind that the restaurant is owned by a great bakery. Our waitress, Samantha (Sam) who was outstanding throughout, said it's a tossup. We finally agreed on the chocolate cake. When the dessert arrived, to our delight, there was an order of light and very tasty chocolate cake, and a creamy & crispy freshly filled cannoli, compliments of Samantha. In summary, we had an excellent meal coupled with outstanding service what more can you ask for in a restaurant? If possible, I recommend weekday dining. It's the kind of place where you can comfortably enjoy a casual meal with family or friends. The atmosphere feels inviting without being too loud or crowded, which made our visit even more enjoyable. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful which you can tell they truly care about their customers. I also appreciate that they offer different dining options. You can choose to seat yourself and enjoy your meal, or be seated and have them take your order. We decided to sit and order our pizza , and even though we ordered at the counter, they still brought our food to our table, which was a very nice touch. Overall, a great experience with excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

Just going to get a bite to eat after leaving New Balance. My plus one says, there is a pizza shop around here. We find Louie's, walk in, the guy warming the pizza was very helpful explaining the variety of pizza on display. I got the broccoli and chicken slice and a sausage and pepper slice. The broccoli slice seemed like it was going to fall apart but it held together very well, it was also very light in weight but fluffy as can be. I was amazed but found it was the least of the two. Still enjoyable, I finished it. The sausage and peppers, AMAZINGLY delicious! Just enough sauce to keep it moist. Also not a very heavy slice yet really tasty. I found that it had just enough gravy, sausage, and peppers. This place is very upscale but casual dining is acceptable. I'm very glad I found this pizza place that offers dining in family style or take out. Inspire more, Yelp more!
