Friends had recommended we try this busy local Italian favorite. White linen table service, ample indoor table and bar seating. Waitstaff was understaffed, tried to keep up with demand but appeared overwhelmed. Montauk flounder was very fresh especially for an inland upstate restaurant, but portion size was inexplicably small. See attached picture, plenty of vegetables but the fish is hardly anywhere to be seen. Mozzarella sticks appetizer was served cold, and even when reheated the cheese failed to melt. Caesar salad was generous and satisfying. "Coffee with cream and sugar" served with milk instead. Overall opinion: disappointing dining experience. read more

What a pleasant surprise to find a fine dining restaurant in the middle of downtown Wurtsboro. Service was quick and attentive and food and drinks were tasty. Prices are higher end but the ambiance is very nice and cozy and romantic. Limited parking in their lot but there's plenty of free street parking. The service was great, but the food wasn't. The tuna appetizer was chintzy all rice with about six tiny (size of a pez candy) pieces of tuna for $18. The beef empanadas were good, but were skimpy on the filling and drowned in chile sauce. The veal francese was overly tangy and chewy. The salad was good and we did receive a complimentary dessert because we left over most of the veal dish & didn't want it packed to take home. My sister found this place and invited me to dine here. We made reservation for an early Friday dinner. Upon arrival, the hostess greeted us and sat us down immediately. The place has an old Italy feel. The place is of wood with old painting and decor. Upon seating, our waiter introduced himself and asked for our drink and let us know the specials. We weren't too hungry so just decided to get entrees, osso bucco with risotto & linguini with clams. The waiter brought bread and this amazing Pomodoro dip. It was delicious! It took a moment but the food came piping hot. The meat fell off the bone and the risotto was rich. Highly recommended. The linguini was good but felt like it needed salt, more garlic, and umami. This was my first time visiting. The service was slow and a little unorganized. Had to ask for water refills, dessert menu and check few times. As far as the food there could be some improvements. The side salad was disappointing. Just lettuce and carrots...very bland and boring. The lettuce was wilted and warm. Ordered the veal marsala. Veal was chewy and had grissle. It also was in pieces not a nice cutlet. Very underwhelming. My date had the veal franchise and that was very good. Not a very good first impression. Maybe just an off night. Let me start by saying I'm Italian from Long Island. We were hesitant but the reviews were good so we went. We will definitely be back. The service was great and the food was AMAZING! The ambiance was really nice too and the music playing was really nice. We started with mozzarella caprese and the pistachio beat salad. Both were delicious. Our entrees were cavatelli bolognese and pasta tuscano. Both were absolutely amazing. The tuscano is spicy so if you don't like a kick don't order it. We made a reservation for Father's Day and had a great time! The atmosphere was relaxed and nice, the food was delicious, and the service was the best--top notch hospitality team. The only hitch we can into was that two members of our party got the lasagna and it came out slightly cold. However, they immediately took it back and gave us new dishes which were much better and well worth the (short) wait! The carbonara dish is also a must, the table side experience was awesome. Visited Wurtsboro for our 3rd anniversary. Lunch choices were here or the local diner (we plan to try on next visit). Definitely not disappointed we went here. This was literally the best dinning experience I've had. The service was wonderful, everyone was super friendly. We got some bar drinks which were very delicious. A lot of the cocktails are martinis which I wasn't in the mood for so I asked if I could get mine on the rocks who can was easily accommodated and delicious! I had the spiced peartini on the rocks. My husband got the fig martini and also loved it. We got the cheese curds to start and they were wonderful with the buffalo sauce. The Caesar salad was a good portion and also delicious, my husband got the lobster bisque and said it was amazing, I wish I didn't have a shellfish allergy! After that we got a second appetizer. The burrata was served over a delicious pesto which complimented it perfectly. By the time dinner came around I could barely look at it! I got the carbonara which is stirred into a heated up block of cheese right in front of you. Although I was way too full to even try it, I brought it home and snuck a bite before putting it in the fridge and it was to die for. Everyone at the table loved their dishes and everything was well portioned and great looking. It was my husbands birthday and he ordered the cheese cake. Unfortunately they were out but it felt like a sign since everyone was stuffed. We received some glasses of anisette on the house which was very good and would have been wonderful with coffee. Made a reservation, asked for a quiet part of the restaurant for a romantic evening. Got seated right in front of a large table of drunk men and in the other side a large a birthday party table, behind us. We could not hear each other speak even so much much as a sentence. Our table was visited several times by 2 different waiters and 4 different bus persons most of which we had to call over just to get items that they didn't bring‍. The food was rather disappointing. It had no flavor at ALL. It had no taste seriously and it did not even have the items that were mentioned in the description on the menu. In the actual description I ordered the Zuppe di Pesce: Clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp, flounder, caramelized shallots, scallions, white wine San Marzano tomato sauce, over fettuccine, fresh basil, I can tell you this much the clams were undercooked. There was absolutely no flounder at all, no caramelized shallots, scallions or fresh basil. The dish was plain bland and even with having to beg for several teaspoons of grated Parmesan cheese and salt and pepper. It still had absolutely no flavor. The calamari appetizer was greasy and tasteless very disappointing, considering it was "supposedly addictive" not so! The lemon sauce on the salmon was overpowering, and the salmon was not incredibly fresh. Service was sooo scattered. We were visited, maybe twice by our actual waitress and had to grab several bus people just to get what we needed for the table. When I asked for a tablespoon to twirl my linguine that they gave me a teaspoon that didn't even match the other flat were on the table. I know it sounds petty but one thing I can say is when I go into an upscale restaurant I like nice silverware and quality service. If you're paying quality prices, you want quality good tasting food. None of those things were delivered on this visit to Pasta D'Doro. Here is the role of restaurants when a restaurant is busy it should be serving the best food ever because it is busy and that is the best time to shine! It was quite busy last night. This restaurant did not shine at all. Sadly. The first time we went there several years ago when they first opened everything was wonderful. Very few complaints at all. I heard very good things about this place when I ordered my lasagna and my penne à la vodka with shrimp I was very disappointed. The shrimp were dry and there was little sauce for the penne vodka and as for the lasagna, it just tasted like hamburger meat in between noodles. I can't believe this place has 4.1 stars you're better off going to Danny's and getting their penny vodka It's half the price it will blow it out of the water definitely not worth $77. This review is taking precedence over my last one. So technically this place is getting 10 STARS There isn't a restaurant for miles that can top this place. Last night, my husband & I shared apps of clams casino, stuffed with caramelized onions,the butter sauce you just want to drink,omg and a new special of duck spring rolls, which was plated with a dark cherry demiglaze, you guys have no idea how delicious this was, wow. I brought one of those home. My entree was also a special last night, veal short ribs over mash&the most delicious crunchy topped onions. Fall of the bone, thick sauce. A gentleman from the kitchen came out to ask if I was enjoying it since it was a new special, I gave my praise to the kitchen. Pistachio cake&cappuccino finished off our night. That's the other thing about this place. It's obvious to me that they TEACH&WORK with their staff, everyone working there will smile at you, ask you how you are, anyone of that waitstaff will not just pass your table without asking if all is good or if you need anything. You will also see the same faces every time you go, so it must be a decent place to work. The decor here is dark red, dim lighting, can be a very romantic spot. We made reservations for 530pm and arrived on time in hopes of a great meal and good service. So when we arrived there seemed to be an issue with our reservation but we were seated and ordered our drinks. The restaurant was very crowded and service was limited because it was so crowded. My brother in law and I had the tomahawk steak for two and my wife and sister had the seafood. The steak cooked medium rare but wasn't as hot as I thought, seemed to be sitting there for a bit while the rest of our order was cooked. The service was good, just keeping an eye out for our waitress for drinks. Parking is street parking with a handful of parking spots up front so be prepared to walk where you're parking at! My first experience in the Wurtsboro location was AWFUL. There was nobody in the restaurant and we sat right in front by the bar. We were joined by half a dozen flies. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she handed me a flyswatter. I had to constantly call her over as the staff stood in the corner playing on their phones. I couldn't eat my meal with all the flies around. I asked that it be wrapped to go. When I paid the bill, I realized I was short $.35. When I questioned this, I was advised they save the change to split amongst the staff at the end of the night. I did not consent to donate my change and then provide a tip. I think it's rude and disrespectful to take money without offering the customer the option to choose whether they want to donate it or not. The price of the food is off the charts and the quality is nothing to speak of. My friend ordered a Caesar salad, which was more expensive than the house salad. She was brought old white lettuce, some croutons, and it was sprinkled with cheese. When we questioned this- Caesar salad comes with Romain lettuce, we were told that they did not receive their produce delivery. They fully intended to charge her the extra amount for a Caesar salad and gave her nothing but a bowel of nasty old lettuce. SHAME ON YOU !!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!! The level of disappointment is off the charts , I read some of the reviews but I like to take my own conclusions so we stopped there on our way to Resorts World Casino . Let me start with the hostess : BAD ATTITUDE, not pleasant at all , she gives us menus but no drink menus . Aside from having an attitude the entire time for even serving us water . Why didn't he just say I'll come back later and came to us ? Once we were finally waited on the other table that got there after us already had their drinks , so once we finally got ours , I had an autumn sangria that was simply pure water and my boyfriend had beer and it was warm , who serves warm beer ?? SMH We ordered rice ball appetizer and it was nicely seasoned however plain soggy in oil .. We ordered the pork ossobucco and they didn't have any ( why was it even on the menu ?? So he ordered a veal dish and according to him was ok , At least it was served hot . My food the flounder piccata was pure lemon , to the point I'm gonna have heartburn lol .. and the carrots were RAW .. . Bathroom : doesn't smell that pleasant either It's so sad because the place is simply beautiful and cozy , very romantic decor , however the service is extremely poor and the food even tho served hot could definitely be improved . Everyone has been raving about Pasta D'oro so my mom and I decided to try it this past weekend for lunch. The place is super cute, definitely an upscale feel. Perfect for a date night. My only problem with this restaurant is the SLOW service and I think they should have a lunch menu for lunch hours. Not everyone wants a huge meal for lunch. It took over 15 minutes for the waitress to take our drink order when we were the only ones there. The food was definitely delicious and the waitress and I believe the owner was there as well both very friendly but the service was very slow especially when they weren't busy at all. I will definitely go back for dinner because like I said the food was really good!! read more
