So this place ended up being an interesting surprise. We stopped here desperate for some lunch along the way as we were driving back home from SXSW. We got lucky in that the exit we got off on had an interesting shopping strip with a wide variety of food. After a long bit of consideration we decided upon Pasta Express Catering. Upon arriving at the counter where one orders I decided to go ahead and give the minestrone soup and caesar salad a try. The minestrone soup was actually one of the better one's I've had in my time (and I'm pretty particular about this dish). It was flavorful and had a decent ingredients to broth ratio. I definitely recommend ordering it. The caesar salad was also pretty nice and it definitely fulfilled my requirements for the item. Lastly the customer service was pretty spot on. The people up front were incredibly nice and our food arrived in a reasonable time frame. Should I find myself driving through that area again I will certainly have to stop in. read more

I made a yelp account just so I can share my thoughts and feelings on my husband and I's experience here which was our first and last time time. We both ordered the chicken Alfredo ; mine was breaded, his was grilled. We also ordered a salad which was 9.99.. but we were surprised that a 9.99 salad only came with lettuce & parmesan cheese.. their "house salad".. it was extra to have tomato's & regular shredded cheese.. (75 cents) we found that to be super expensive for just lettuce... about the pasta now.. his grilled chicken tastes awful.. the pasta had to much sauce with no flavor.. we both had to use a lot of salt & pepper.. it still didn't help.. 45 minutes later we were both in bathrooms.. stomach aches.. and well I won't share the rest. We fell this restaurant could improve by updating their house salad to more than just lettuce, we felt scammed after our experience.. 45 dollars later just to be sick, disappointed and scammed.. please do better for your customers.. make the house salad.. an actually salad or change the price!!!! read more

Haha... I totally love this place - good, fast, inexpensive food! I wish I could find toasted ravioli like they have somewhere else. *sigh* I used to eat lunch at the Pasta Express location on Sunshine a lot and then sometimes, I'd pick up big family sized orders (from Battlefield) after a day at the mall or movies and take them to my parents house so my mom didn't have to cook everytime I came over. It made everyone happy. I tried other things than the toasted ravioli but I can't remember them so well. I'd remember if they were bad though. LoL I just really liked the ravioli. Not bad. Lasagna and Italian beef sandwich were good. Lasagna was good bit needed more seasoning and some meat. Aus juice was a little salty. The French bread they use should have been toasted crisper. Or switch to gonella bread, its Italian style bred that is great for these types of sandwiches. Prices weren't bad. I ate here once in 2012, found it typically good (as all Pasta Express locations tend to be) and hadn't stopped in at this location since. Wow! They have really remodeled and expanded. It is now a spacious lovely casual Italian restaurant. My husband enjoyed the sausage & onion pasta and I had Mama's Favorite, which is a creamy, decadent and amazing dish. We agreed it was the perfect hearty lunch at the end of a long road trip. While we still like other locations, I think this is our favorite now. read more

Great service at this location. I had the chicken spedini it was so good. The only thing I wish is that they never asked or had the option to add a tip to the bill. Ah, Pasta Express. The now-defunct South Campbell location was a staple of mine in high school. Not only that, It was also the first place I ever worked. As far as first jobs are concerned, it couldn't have been better. Not only was management "cool" (read - "total heads") But the food was free. For a 15 year old, this was a fine arrangement. The toasted ravioli made for a fine snack after a trip to the walk-in fridge for a quick breather ;) I no longer live in Springfield and I haven't eaten at Pasta Express in over 5 years, but I assure you, one does not forget free food eaten on a nearly daily basis for 2 years. Assuming the menu hasn't changed much, I recommend the baked mostaccioli, broccoli chicken fettucini, the toasted ravioli and the lasagna. I also recommend taking those little rolls they give you, stuffing them with your pasta or salad and eating that way. That's just how I roll... The food is as tasty as you would find at any of the other pasta chains in town like Olive Garden or Zio's, and it's less expensive. Oh, and they deliver. read more

Checked this place out for lunch with a friend. I had the seafood Alfredo and they had regular Alfredo. The service was nice and included free bread. The pasta was cooked well but everything fell down with the sauce. Both of us left trying the best to describe the sauce on our dishes and what we came up with was not very flattering. It was white which is a good start for an Alfredo but was very thin. Think while milk. It lacked any real flavor. I think whomever was to make the sauce simple didn't work on it long enough to thicken it up or forget a to add a packet of something. The second problem that makes me give this place 2 stars was the seafood. Its large chunks of krab meat and very rubbery shrimp were just a turn off. For about 8 bucks I didn't expect a lot but this really missed the mark. So 2 stars. Meh, I've experienced better. read more

My family has been coming here for a few years and it is always clean, reasonably priced with good fresh food. The staff is always extremely friendly. I often travel to St. Louis and have gotten toasted ravioli many places, and this is the best cheese ravioli I have gotten. The salad dressing is a delicious Italian dressing. They have a multiple drink options for kids including milk and juice which makes it a great place to bring my 2 and 1/2 year old. You will not be disappointed as this is a great place in Springfield. read more

Since moving to Springfield, I've had a little trouble finding different spots to eat that I enjoy. After not being able to find a parking spot at the place we originally intended to eat at, we found this place. The place was empty which was nice. Nobody seemed to aknowledge me how they normally do, which was refreshing. It was nice to not be approached or gawked at, I'm very thankful for my experience here. The chicken parmangrio was simple and delicious. The bread came out quick and was nice and fresh. A little garlic on it though wouldn't have been bad. I'm a sucker for garlic, but it was great for what it was. Next came the salad, which semmed like everything I needed before devouring the generous portions of that amazing plate. I have been eating one thing form this place since the time it opened, Toasted Ravioli. It's one of my favorite foods and my favorite place to get is right here. They're quick, reasonable, and you get a good size portion. At some point I'll get off my kick and try something new from this fine place, but for now, I'll stick there with what I love. read more

I was super excited about going to this place. Because we don't have anything like this back home..huge disappointed, went through drive thru on way home, took 22 minutes, yes I timed it. Lol. Then didn't think to look in bag. Once I got home. I ordered 2 chicken parm sandwiches , salads, and bread. Was that in bag...no. There was 2 meatball, 1 salad, and no bread. By the time I opened bag I was across town at home.m called and talked to manager this am. He said he would look into it and call Me back.. Probably the best pasta there is. I go there at least once a week. The customer service is always fantastic. I've tried many things on the menu and never been disappointed. I went here last week and got the Chicken Alfredo. While the Chicken Alfredo wasn't bad and I got a good portion of it. I can't say the cheesy garlic bread I ordered to go with it was any good. It was cold and greasy and had way too much garlic on it. Also when I arrived the place had no customers and was slow. The guy preparing my food showed no professionalism preparing my food. He basically just tossed the noodles the chicken and the Alfredo sauce in a pan heated it up then dumped it into a to go container. I also didn't like the counter girl picking up my piece of bread that went with the chicken Alfredo and tossing it into my bag. Not the best service for sure., read more

Okay, So ,yes, the food is pretty good. And, I used to eat at the one on National all the time before they turned it into a Einsteen Bagel place. BUT, I tried the one on Battlefield and was shocked at how much they have gone up on their prices!! I asked for the toasted ravoli. The cashier asked, "Oh, you want the value meal?" Sure. Then, she asked, "Do you want tomato and cheese on your sald?" Of course. The total came up to $9.99. WHAT!? For fast food pasta that is really not THAT good....I mean, not 10 dollars good!! So, I got a "VALUE MEAL" and had to pay extra for turning a plate of lettuce into a salad. I sat and ate my food in silence, thinking, "I could have eaten at Colton's and got a REAL meal for this price." I'm talking steak and bake potato kind of meal. this place is good and all, food is fine. but the owner has a stick up his butt from time to time. i was waiting up at the front counter when an employee said out loud that i was waiting the owner stormed over and very firmly told me that i needed to wait for someone to help me, mind you i was only standing at the counter for just a min. then after i ordered i got the wrong food. i went to the counter and the owner was standing there writing on sa pad and i told him the error and he snapped at me telling me i he made sure i got what i ordered. i sat back down for a few mins till he left and told the nice girl behind the counter the error and it was promptly fixed. so like i said its fine and all but watch out for the oewner on a bad day read more

We had never been here and were very pleasantly surprised. We were met by super friendly employees who helped us figure out what to do. We were told that any of the entrees could be modified. I had Mamas Favorite Pasta and my daughter had Seafood fettuccine. Food came to the table in less than 10 minutes very hot and everything tasted very fresh. Huge portions!Very very reasonably priced.
