Wanted to be excited about this place based on the good reviews however left disappointed. Arrived 8pm on Saturday night and was lucky to get a table as it was packed. Service was attentive, we started with a bottle of wine & bruschetta, the wine was good, the bruschetta was soggy and falling apart when picked up. As we were waiting for our entrees we noticed the delays from the kitchen, server bringing pasta to a couple on their anniversary for him and saying the pizza was just on its way out of the oven, it never arrived, the gentleman finished his pasta and still no pizza, she cancelled the order and they left. The table behind us also had no meals, the server said the chef forgot to make them, they finished their drinks and left. The table next to us, 1 of 3 meals served and finished and then 2 lasagnes arrived, both of which were still cold in the middle. They were all annoyed and just took them to go. Finally our meals arrived, I believe we were waiting on the bolognese as it seemed hot and fresh, mine however was not the hottest and has a film on it as it had been sitting a while. I believe the bolognese was not worth almost $40 but the other one was well priced and delicious. Ended with a tiramisu which was dry which was disappointing. So a disordered evening with angry diners did not make for a fun night out.

Bruno's is fantastic! We hadn't been there in 12 years and it was still exceptional. The food is great. Nice wine list. They provide complimentary bread, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. The staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is charming--it's in an old building that's been renovated. We are Mediterranean salad, tortellini, ravioli, cannolis.

Located in downtown Springfield in a renovated wallpaper shop from the early 1900s. Bruno's is a very quaint, friendly, and relaxing place to enjoy a good meal with family, friends or co-workers. My husband and I had dinner here this past weekend and really enjoyed our experience. We started with cocktails. My husband had the Spiced Pear Old Fashioned. Which was delightful and smelled as good as it tasted. I enjoyed the Sicilian Cosmo which was very lovely and could be quite dangerous. We were also brought out warmed bread with oil and balsamic. For dinner we tried the SHRIMP DIAVOLA Linguine with Tomato Sauce, Onions, Roasted Garlic, Chili Oil & Shrimp And CHICKEN & PROSCIUTTO TORTELLINI Tortellini Filled with Chicken & Prosciutto, Served in a Black Truffle & Sage Cream Sauce Both of which were very good and the portion sizes were more than adequate. We recommend this lovely place and will be returning the next time we are back in Springfield.

Their authentic menu sets the stage for a wonderful Italian meal in the heart of downtown Springfield. We were eager to try this place after reading such glowing reviews, and we left exceptionally satisfied. As soon as we sat down, we were served focaccia with a blend of Italian olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We ordered two glasses of wine: a Chianti and a Chiarlo Barbera d'Asti. Since we wanted to try both the pasta and the pizza, we decided to share a margherita pizza as an appetizer. The pizza was amazing, with the perfect balance of dough and sauce. Their brick oven allows the pizza to be cooked authentically, as if we were in Italy, and adds an extra touch to the ambiance. With the pizza being so good, we expected no less of the pasta. My husband ordered the fettuccine alla Bolognese, and the ragù was so flavorful that he scooped up every bit and cleaned his plate with the last piece of focaccia! I ordered the daily special--penne with a white sauce (not Alfredo!), sun-dried tomatoes, and Parmigiano--which was absolutely delightful. The flavors blended perfectly. Although we were full, we saved room for dessert and ordered cannoli. The portion came with two, making it perfect for sharing. The way they whisk the ricotta gives it a delicate texture that tastes exceptional! Service was fast, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The location is great, right in the heart of downtown Springfield, so we could easily walk back to our hotel. Overall, it was an absolutely fantastic experience--a must-visit if you're in Springfield and craving authentic Italian food

Ate here while in town at the end of Sept 2023. There were 6 of us. We made reservations earlier in the day and were seated immediately upon our arrival. Our server, Tara F., was awesome and on-point, constantly checking on us and refilling our water and drinks. The atmosphere was great, and I loved the decor, especially the flooring and ceilings. Definitely a cool place to dine. I ordered a Caesar Salad, Brushetta, and Shrimp Diavola, and all were fantastic. That Caesar dressing was probably one of the best I've ever tried. Everything was perfect! The only downside....parking. But, we got to walk off our dinners. Great experience and next time I'm in town, Bruno's will definitely be a stop for me.

Halibut with asparagus and angel hair pasta.

Lovely little restaurant. Be sure to make reservations or sweet talk the hostess . Mike was our waiter tonight. Excellent service and very attentive. Actually laughed at my jokes, so he gets extra points! We had a pleasant bottle of wine, Troublemaker out of Paso Robles. That region has excellent reds. This was smooth and slightly fruity. Dinner was good. They stubbed their toe on the pasta, but immediately made up for it. The rabbit and the halibut was delicious. Nice delicate sauces enhanced the flavors instead of covering up the protein. Definitely a must do when visiting this cute little town. Btw, we stayed at The Moxy Hotel next door. Awesome rooftop jazz band. Perfect night.

First, the food we did get was very good. I had a great plate of spaghetti with sauce, and my guest had a great plate of tortellini in cream sauce. Were they worth $44? No. The meal came with nothing else. In fact I posted a picture of the empty table because for 30 minutes after we ordered we sat looking at that. We finally got bread after we asked. But the food came first. I almost thought they would charge me for the bread. Anyway, what you get is not worth the wait and charge. Go to a different Italian place and get bread right away and a salad included with your dinner. Maybe even the option to add meatballs.

    Cannelloni

Tried Bruno's on a Saturday night @ 6:00 pm before the Symphony. One of only a couple that serve Cannelloni. The Open Table app suggested that there were no reservations available at 6 which I believed at first, then called the restaurant directly later and wola they had 6:00!‍ Ambiance is very nice. Not too quiet and not too loud. Italian music would have been a plus:). Our server Jason was very attentive and personable. Fococcia bread was super fresh and the olive oil and vinegar were nice. The Cab from Lake Co. (Can't remember) was very nice and a generous pour. The house salad was very fresh & just the right amount of dressing. Husband had cannelloni and I had the bucatini and both were excellent! Will definitely come back here, maybe even for lunch. Lots of other things I'd like to try. For sure some dessert!

Bloody Mary, very different setting was not bad though.
    Jina N.

Maria was our waitress, and she is super awesome. The bread and olive dip was to die for! I can't stop dipping it lol. Then the cheese garlic bread was so cheesy and yummy. I can just eat this all day. Who doesn't love a good cheesy bread? Then we got the soup and salad. Omg i love the salad so much. The fresh mozzarella ball was super delicious with the tomatoes and argula with balsamic dressing. The soup was okie, its not my favorite but still taste fine. Then come the lobster ravioli and clam linguine. I can't stop licking the pasta sauce from the ravioli, it was sooooooo freaking good. The clams linguine compliment each other, i have to stop and take a break to enjoy it lol. One if the best itailian restaurant in town. I'm glad to try this local treasure in downtown. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the entrees on the menu.

Fantastic. The new ownership has been a great change for this business and can't wait to see what happens next. I have been to Brunos a few times bust this most recent trip will make me a regular. You must try the Trist (the green drink in the pictures). The perfect compliment to the bucatni!

    Tiramisu and Limoncello Cake.
    Sofie K.

We had my birthday dinner here last night. I had the house salad and the cannelloni. The cannelloni was rich and delightful. Each bite had meat, noodle, cheese, and eggplant. Just a phenomenal and comforting dish. My husband had the gnocchi. It is the best gnocchi I have ever tried. My dad also ordered the cannelloni and my mom had their wagyu beef tips penne pasta. I tried her dish and it was superb. We finished the evening with desserts. The tiramisu and limoncello cake are both delicious. The tiramisu is very rich and pillowy in texture. Coffee lovers will delight in how deep the coffee flavor is in the tiramisu. The limoncello cake is bright and tangy. A perfect balance to the rich and deep tiramisu. Our service was fantastic. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Overall a perfect dinner.

Egg plant parm appetizer is phenomenal.

Reservations are recommended. We ate early at 4pm when they opened on a weekday. Highly-recommend it, if you're one that dines early. They offer a separate room for big groups. It's a small place, but also had plenty of room as well. The decor was mostly art for sale from local artists. Our orders were taken quickly, and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I liked that with the bread you get a plate of garlic, and there are bottles of olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the table. My wife got the crab cakes and pasta, while I got The Momma. Both were very good, and with good-sized portions that we were able to take in leftover boxes. Service was mostly good, except our college-age server was slow to get soda refills. We got in after 30 minutes of arrival, which is fine. We got our food after 45 minutes of ordering, which is ok. They gave us some white bread that looked good with a plate of minced garlic. It looked so good and we were excited, as soon as we touched the bread it was cold to the touch. We were expecting at least warm bread. So it wasn't great and we didn't even eat it all for the first time of our existence. Then we order an appetizer, the garlic cheese bread... I had one piece and was done my husband at 5 pieces and was done. The bread had an ok texture but the flavor seriously lacked, there was 0 taste of garlic and it had a strange cheese taste, definitely regret ordering it, debating whether we should box it up to go or not... yikes! I don't know how you mess up cheese bread but they did. My husband order the New Yorker panini, he stated that the bread was bad and it was way too salty overall and he loves salt. He only ate one half, and the pasta salad he got as a side, it was ok to say the least and lacked flavor as well. I ordered the toasted ravioli appetizer as my meal, and it was kind of fine. It was barely lukewarm, the crust was crunchy and good but the beef was barely seasoned. Plus side it is big portions, bad thing is it wasn't good so now we're left with bad big portions. The ambiance is chill and it gets very loud where you can't hear the other to converse. The only Italian thing about this place is the name. We will not be back and we wasted our money because it was not cheap at all. Very sad and disappointing. If I could give it .5 review I would.
