Thankfully, it's not that. Not even close. The interior leans cute and slightly rustic, with a New-York-Italian soundtrack of Sinatra and Dean Martin covers setting the tone. The buffet itself is smaller than you might imagine, but it gets the job done: grab your drink, grab a plate, and dive in. You'll find the usual starters lined up -- soup, salad, breadsticks, fried ravioli, chips with spinach-artichoke dip -- then move on to the fun part: à-la-carte pastas and sauces. They've got everything from classic white sauce and marinara to vodka sauce and meatballs. There's even fried chicken pieces so you can build your own take on chicken parm. The atmosphere is good as you come in, the pictures online paint a better picture than the actual. Service is great, There is a wide variety of available choices on the Buffett, I believe they would be better served to put the buffet lines together to create a better flow than scattered as they are now. The waitress was nice. Everything else was awful. The restaurant seemed unkept, and needing to be cleaned. Overall there were no redeeming qualities about the food. It was bland, dried out, and seemed like it had been out for too long. The salad tasted dirty. The pizza was alright and fresh. It was an odd experience that I don't plan to repeat. 4 people cost $100 including tip, we could have spent less and had a better experience at CiCi's. I recommend you save your time and money. Went here today for a quick lunch about 2:30, most all pastas were lukewarm/cold, food looked like it had not been stirred in over an hour, server was very nice but not very attentive, and our check had us paying $15 for 4 waters and tried to charge us for sodas the ice cream and breadsticks were good read more

Traveling and stopped here for late lunch/early dinner. Staff was prompt and pleasant. Food was plentiful...ok but not the best Italian I've ever had. The fried ravioli was good but needs dipping red sauce nearby. The shrimp pasta was good...again ok but not great. Salad bar options all had cheese. DH is lactose intolerant so consider a greens salad that you can add cheese to if you want cheese. Bread sticks were pretty awful but I saw kids eating them...hey, they're kids! It was awful! The food was terrible, not even a hint of authentic Italian food. The sauces were watered down, way too runny. Little taste. Nothing tasted above frozen food quality. No organization at all on the food bar. It was pieces here, pieces there and tortilla chips! They could and should have had sliced baguette bread. They have no business trying to run this type of restaurant. The server at our table was good and we did appreciate her. She was attentive to our needs. This first time I went with a friend to eat here the food was very good. Supposedly they get there ingredients for there pasta dishes from the actual " hill" in st louis. I think degregrios. I'm from st louis and worked at a few restaurants on the hill. I also know true Italian food. I also dated a silcian girl. While on my first visit the food was good I wouldn't call it " true" Italian. It was hot and fresh but some of the dishes on the buffet lacked the true authentic flavor. My granddaughter getting burnt on a heater in the bathroom that had no warning and plugged in to the wall right by the sink wouldn't have been so upsetting had the owner took the time to check on her and apologize!!! We told the server about what happened and said you might put a sign up or something as it was hot enough a poor little 6 year old has the face of the heater on her leg! The server told the owner who took the time to put a wet floor sign in front of it but never said a word! On the way out our son told her an apology would have been nice from her. She played dumb!! So this is realistically a 3.5, but I'll round up cause of the dessert. When I saw this place I assumed it'd be terrible, but it was a lot better than I expected. It was a fun experience to try everything too. Hit or miss for the most part, but some things were pretty tasty and there's a ton of options. My girlfriend thought the meatballs were too salty, but I liked them a lot. The standout though was the dessert. Two thumbs up! Doggy friendly. I came with my emotional support dog and was welcomed with friendly smiles. I asked to be seated in a corner away from the Buffet. I noticed that the tables were spaced out nicely instead of all jammed up and crowded. The buffet had a wide variety of foods.. Seabass and garlic meatballs were delicious as well as pasta and different sauces to choose from. They offered three different soups. The dessert bar was fantastic. My only negative remark is about the ladies restroom. It was clean but very dark. The handicapped stall had the paper hung too low. It was nearly impossible to get the toilet paper out. I'm obsessed with the new direction of The Hill. The servers are great and doing so much more work than they're used to now that they are serving each dish. Our first time during COVID was absolutely incredible. I loved being served like royalty. I had 5 plates on my table that I could just pick from and eat whatever I wanted off of. I also had the bottomless mimosas and I'm telling you, they were all delicious. I love this new buffet-but-not-really dining experience. I still get whatever I want and however much of it I want and I don't have to get up from my table. The second time we went during COVID, same type of royal experience. I'm seriously obsessed. I told our server (her name was Sandra) that I hope they'll never go back to a normal buffet and she said she was pretty sure they weren't going to and that was music to my ears. Excellent food and selection. My wife's parents took us out for lunch and I tried nearly every dish on the lunch buffet. Everything was very well presented, and had true Italian flavors. One aspect that was a fun surprise was the desert section of the restaurant. They had a good dessert variety and a made fresh crepes section with 3 types of fillings. Overall, I would suggest going here on a semi formal date night. The prices seemed slightly high, so be aware of that; honestly a little to high. It's a great idea for having all you can eat Italian food, but only if the quality is worth something. This was very poor quality food, tasted like it was from the freezer and reheated in a microwave. A couple of entrees actually made me gag. I really hope that The Hill will consider upping their quality as there's a lot they could offer. The wait staff was good, atmosphere good, and the location good.
