Well well well.. I'm here to update my review. First thing first, no more piece of paper. The iPad is out and in play, and my was the service quick, organized and smooth. I received a texted and Josh greeted me at the door. I'm absolutely blown away. We've struggled with pasta max and continued trying again. I have to give y'all 5 stars even though you all deserve 10. Josh, you've been there 3 days and I've never seen anyone do such a great job. Whatever they pay you it isn't enough. You absolutely killed it. My order was quick fast and in a hurry, and you knew the menu already. Thank you guys. The place is small and quaint. There is a sign that masks are required but no one is wearing it and neither did the staff. It was very busy when we walked in so we had to wait 5 minutes before a table became available. We ordered the calamari as appetizer and the marinara sauce serving that came with it was very generous. We have never seen any place that has such plentiful sauce with the appetizer. The sauce was very rich and tasty. We read comments about the garlic bread. It was different but tasty and not as extraordinary based on the comments on Yelp. For entree, we had the Penne Rigata. Again the portion was huge, good rich flavor with nice mixture of spices that complement the tomato sauce, which does not carry and overly strong tomato taste. The shrimp and scallop linguini in lobster broth was on the specials and absolutely tasty. It has a very unique flavor to the sauce which I have not experience before but very glad I did. Service is exceptional with very intuitive timing. Would definitely like to try the other items on their limited menu as well as their posted list of daily specials that are very inviting. read more

My family moved to Mcdonough from NYC a few years back and everytime I come to visit I stop at Pasta Max. The food and service are AMAZING. I can't recommend one meal over the other, because everything i've tried has been great and served with a smile. Do yourself a favor and go, you'll love it. read more

We were visiting family and were on our own for dinner. We both felt like Italian and YELP directed us to this charming spot. We arrived about 5:30 expecting a wait but a few tables were still available. DH ordered the Penne Rigati and he loved it. He really like Italian sausage and said he could really taste the fennel. I ordered the Agnolotti. I thought it would be noodles but it was tortellini and it was delicious. It comes with 3 different sauces so is very pretty too. Salads were fresh and crisp. I was introduced to this restaurant by a family friend and decided to take a trip here for some dine in. I always enjoy eating in the square because it supports local business and the ambiance of the square is enjoyable. I have both ordered take out and dine in here. The food is quality fare done with average presentation. I have had both lasagna and the spaghetti and meat balls. The sauce was a good blend of sweet and savory; however, I more prefer my sauce on the tangy/zesty side but I am not apposed to variety. The pasta was cooked well while not being over cooked both in the lasagna and spaghetti. The staff was courteous and helpful but did not stand out beyond acceptable service. When she returned she took our order and we had food on our table within a few min again. The specials are always awesome. We ordered 3different meals. They where all fantastic. Shrimp with scallops, scallops dinner and I had something from the specialty dinners. My dish had 3different raviolis. Pesto, chicken, and cheese. All the dishes were awesome in taste and quantity.
