    Beautiful place settings.

I went in last week to pick up an order I placed online, pappardelle bolognese. Immediately upon entering the beautiful aromas of fresh sauce on a slow simmers hits you, and to me is reminiscent of home. The private event dining room table you walk past is perfectly set, awaiting its next party. The lush greenery that lines the windows, and fills the corners makes the shop that much more inviting -- as if the smell alone isn't enough. As you walk towards the To-Go case where you'll find your pick-up order, you can find Chef Nic to the right in his Pasta Corner, kneading, rolling, cutting, and hanging the freshest pasta you'll find around here without making it at home. While I was in the shop my pasta was actually being made and sealed as we were casually speaking about how Pasta Packs got started, that's how fresh this is. The sauce selection for my meal was still warm to the touch. The kit comes with everything you need, fresh pasta, sauce, and cheese. The packaging is adorned with a QR code that brings up the at-home cooking instructions for your exact selection, and you even have the option to include a fresh salad, or bread with the kit as well. This was such an incredible experience for me, from the shop to the final product at home. I can't wait to return and try all of Chef's different varieties he makes! We sat out on the gorgeous patio that has beautiful flowers hanging above and lovely lighting. I had a special request for the chef and I will say they went above and beyond to make it happen and take care of us. I'm so thankful! I ordered the Queen Stella Margherita which comes on this tasty tonda crust, it's crispy and flaky. Wow I don't typically eat the outer crust but this bread is so good! It has tomato, house-made mozzarella, and really yummy basil. To drink I had a Seasonal Spritz which I believe had apricots and amaretto, this is a nice fresh drink with great flavor. My son opted for the the Maria pizza with tomato, mozzarella, meatballs,Italian sausage, soppressata, Ezzo and pepperoni. Most importantly he got what his heart desired a Hawaiian pizza, his favorite! I love the service at Jay Luigi so much, Joey and the team really wanted us to have a great experience and we most certainly did.

The bartender greeted me immediately and introduced himself, and in no time at all I had a delicious limoncello spritz in front of me. Inside the restaurant everything was sleek, clean, and bright, and the jazz piped in from the live music outside added the perfect ambiance. I had made reservations, so we were sat exactly at our time. I highly recommend making reservations because this place filled up quickly and stayed busy the entire time we were there. Our very friendly and knowledgeable server let us order off of the happy hour menu, so my friends and I split a variety of items. First - bread with the 3 dips - you absolutely must get this. Second - fried zucchini balls. While I did like them, I wish they were smaller so the inside was a little more cooked. Third - Creamy Tomato Vodka Pasta - yummy with a bit of kick! This was my favorite food item. Fourth - Queen Stella Margherita pizza. Surprisingly, this was my least favorite item. We got it thin-crust, and while it looked good, it was served completely cold, and the flavor can only be described as cardboard-like. I would definitely try another pizza here, but not this one. My friends also split an order of meatballs, which they loved. While they had wine for dessert, I had a piece of limoncello cake for dessert. It was fantastically lemony and moist, which I loved. Their parking lot is valet only, but fortunately you only have to pay the $6 fee Fri-Sun, so we just had to tip the very friendly valet.

Our server, John, not only remembered us and welcomed us back, but he remembered our drink orders. He remembered that my husband drinks club soda, no ice, with a lime, and that I drink unsweetened iced tea with a lime. Impressive. He is attentive and anticipates what we need, bringing refills before we have to ask. He answers questions honestly and makes outstanding suggestions. I have ordered a different entrée each visit. Every meal was outstanding. Today I had the Filet and Funghi with a side of Brussels sprouts. Delicious doesn't begin to describe it. My husband can't pass up the lasagna, but he always orders at least one meal to go for lunch later in the week. Today it was Eggplant Parmigiana. The servings are as generous as they are tasty. I have not had room for dessert on our previous visits. Today was no different, so I ordered cannoli to go. I tasted one as a reward for finishing our taxes tonight. It was delightful! Just as I remember my Italian grandma making them. Bocelli is a neighborhood gem. I'm looking forward to our next visit.

The food simply isn't on the same level as other Italian restaurants in Tampa. We ordered the bruschetta as one of our appetizers, and it was disappointing. The bread was barely toasted, there was no mozzarella, no balsamic drizzle--just plain bread with chopped tomatoes in a bowl, and not even Roma tomatoes. My chicken parm was equally underwhelming. It came as two chicken breasts with sauce and cheese, but they weren't pounded thin and they weren't breaded! I'm Italian, and this is definitely not authentic chicken parm. They mentioned having a chef, but if that's the case... he must of been off that night!

From the awkwardness at checking in to the disappointment with the food, we leave dissatisfied which is unfortunate. The parking is tight but we were able to find a spot. Walked in and nobody at the front so we waited and someone did come. Not really welcomed, just walked up and asked for our name. Gave our reservation name and time. We were a bit early. Told to hang at the bar until the table was ready. We just sat upfront. Made it to the table and seating was tight. I felt like I was in the conversation of the party next to us. Service was ok - server was polite and professional. Took our drink and food order but really didn't check back in on us frequently. The valentine menu included a starter, a soup or salad, a main entrée and a dessert per person. I ordered the artichoke dip as my starter, tomato soup, the blackened mahi and for dessert, the chocolate mousse cake. Artichoke dip was the winner of the evening. It was very good and plentiful so we actually boxed and took home to enjoy. The tomato soup came out next and was so salty that it was not edible. The soup and the artichoke dip sat on the table for a while before the waitress came over to check in on us. When she did come over we advised we wanted the artichoke dip boxed, but the tomato soup was overly salty, like the container of salt fell into the soup. The individuals at the table next to us agreed that the soup was not able to be eaten due to the salt level, the server basically apologized and said there was nothing that they could do given it was a set menu, which was very disappointing that they did nothing to either resolve the issue or offer a salad in place of the soup give we could not eat the salad. Since the meal was prepaid, they should've done something to fix, but the messaging was basically like oh you're SOL. Like I took your money now deal with it. On to the mahi -- it was supposed to be served over coconut lime rice however it was more like a firm block of mushy porridge. Like the rice, maybe had been sitting in water or something all day not sure but it was gross and it had no flavor. The fish was also overcooked because it wasn't flaky and I think that it lacked flavor as well. I ended up boxing it and not even eating it whenever we got home. I think the trash can enjoyed it more than I did. We were full and basically over the experience so we got our desserts to go. Hubs ordered the poundcake and I ordered the chocolate mousse cake. Got home, put everything in the fridge except for the desserts, sat down on the couch to enjoy our desserts and mine was missing!! I had a takeout container that had the whipped cream and a little thing of chocolate mousse in it but no cake. WTHeck man!? It was icing on the cake or the cherry on top for the evening we experienced at this point. Let's just say that based on all the reviews for this place, we expected better and were quite disappointed. Especially for the cost of the prefix menu. I truly believe that a higher quality should've been had given this was one of the busiest days of the year to win people over.

Interbay Meat Market is your "super bodega" of South Tampa (Gandy and everything south of that -…read moresorry folks, I'm just stating the facts ;)). I had the pleasure of coming here twice - once for lunch and another time to buy actual meat. The initial take of the Meat Market lends itself to some hesitation and doubt. A fast glance may trick one into thinking that the store is part of the Circle K gas station itself - it is not, so don't worry about getting any gas station "specials." As you walk into Interbay Meat Market, you will find yourself immersed in truly a large-sized bodega with open-faced fridges, packed with drinks, lined against the outer walls. In between everything else are your groceries and other common pantry items. Almost at the center is a cantina/canteen, where you can pick out your own lunch from an assortment of available freshly cooked foods. The food you find here would be comparable to Caribbean twist or any other Latin-cafeteria style eatery. The servings are generous for a decent price. If you're coming here for lunch, there are outdoor picnic tables so you don't have to bring the heaping trays back into work if you don't want to. Next to the cantina is the fresh meats section. The cuts of meat here all look great and freshly stocked. They are neatly stacked and organized giving it overall appeal. I came here for steak and was happy with the various cuts they offered (porterhouse, NY strip, ribeye, Delmonico being the commonly recognized ones). In speaking with the clerk, each cut was sized for about a pound - which makes it easy when you're gauging the price. The porterhouse and Delmonico's that I bought immediately went on the smoker and grill, and they were a hit with the party. As you can imagine, you can purchase alcohol as well as tobacco products (behind the cashiers) here if that's your thing making Interbay Meat Market a one-stop shop!
