This was our third visit to Bocelli. It certainly won't be our last. The food and the service are superb! Our server, John, not only remembered us and welcomed us back, but he remembered our drink orders. He remembered that my husband drinks club soda, no ice, with a lime, and that I drink unsweetened iced tea with a lime. Impressive. He is attentive and anticipates what we need, bringing refills before we have to ask. He answers questions honestly and makes outstanding suggestions. I have ordered a different entrée each visit. Every meal was outstanding. Today I had the Filet and Funghi with a side of Brussels sprouts. Delicious doesn't begin to describe it. My husband can't pass up the lasagna, but he always orders at least one meal to go for lunch later in the week. Today it was Eggplant Parmigiana. The servings are as generous as they are tasty. I have not had room for dessert on our previous visits. Today was no different, so I ordered cannoli to go. I tasted one as a reward for finishing our taxes tonight. It was delightful! We are regulars at Bocelli, so this is my second review in more than 30 visits. We decided to try the Chicken Milanese Burrata and it was to die for. I can't wait to order it again. Went for girl's night on Wednesday. The meal I got was phenomenal (Chicken Burrata Milanese). A ton of food for the price. The service was great as well, our server was on point and made sure we never went too long without a drink. It's hard to believe my review is going from a 5 star to a 3 star. We took friends here tonight based on our previous experience and were so disappointed. We did start out with the arancini which was as good as the previous time. I ordered the lasagna and was super disappointed. The piece looked like it had been sitting in the kitchen for hours. It was barely warm and was so over salted it was not good at all. I didn't want to make a fuss in front of our friends so I muddled through it, but it was probably the worst lasagna I have ever eaten. What a wonderful restaurant! My husband and I decided to come here for our anniversary. My husband is from upstate NY and went to college in Utica, so he was extremely excited to find somewhere close by that serves chicken riggies. Not only was the staff outstanding but the food was outrageously delicious. We had a tiny snag that was completely my fault and they fixed the issue immediately and were so kind about it. Bocelli is a hidden gem in the SOG with a great menu and really generous portions. The half kale salad was huge, super fresh, and so good, and there are tons of solid pizza and pasta options to choose from. Service was friendly and attentive, and I loved the Wednesday ladies night with half off wine and cocktails. We ordered through uber eats and tried the chicken parm, the meatball sub, and mozzarella wedges. The mozzarella wedges arrived not really cooked somehow. The wedge was not melted at all. We melted it ourselves in the air fryer and it was fine after that. The marinara sauce that it was served with was good. My fiancé ordered the meatball sub with long hots, which are peppers, the peppers were forgotten, but he said the sub was still good. I had the chicken parm with vodka sauce and rigatoni. It was okay. The noodles were cooked very well. The chicken was alright and had a little bit of a plastic taste which was incredibly odd. After having read about the quality of the food here and that they make their own pasta (always a plus), we visited Bocelli with another couple. First time for all of us. The meatballs were heavenly! In fact, one of our party got more as their entree. Yum! The rest of us had Fettuccine Alfredo, Bolognese over Rigatoni, and Cavatelli alla Vodka. All of these are available in Half or Full Size. We all ordered the half sizes - the portions were still generous, especially after sharing the Bocelli Platter. The food came out quickly given how crowded it was. As someone who has enjoyed plenty of food all over Italy, I can assure you this was every bit as good, super flavorful, authentic, and the fresh pasta was superb. The fettucine alfredo was very disappointing.. not much flavor. I want to preface by mentioning that we visited this restaurant on Valentine's Day, so our experience on a different day might vary. My initial impression of the restaurant was that it boasts an attractive location, albeit with limited parking availability. I faced considerable difficulty finding a parking space. Additionally, while we were checked on a few times, we felt quite overlooked in the outdoor area of the restaurant, particularly when compared to the lively ambiance inside, which featured jazz music and a larger number of waitstaff. Additionally, we weren't really greeted nor taken care of by the large smiles and enthusiastic waitresses/staff you would expect from a restaurant like this.   Now, regarding our experience, we started with the garlic knots, which were among the top three I've ever tasted. They offered a unique twist, featuring a volcano-like breading that encased cheese, served with a deliciously slightly sweet marinara sauce that paired beautifully with the garlic knots. The crusty exterior added an extra layer of flavor, making it undeniably the highlight of the meal.   Next, we ordered the Sopressata Pizza, which was impressive. The combination of large pepperoni and the sweet honey glaze on a crunchy crust provided a delightful experience that I highly recommend. The addition of parmesan and red pepper flakes delivered finishing touches that resulted in a deep and flavorful bite, with a sweet aftertaste.   For the main course, we chose the Cavatelli alla Vodka and the Fria Diavolo pasta. Starting with the Cavatelli, it was satisfactory, though not the best I've ever had; I found it a bit sweeter and less robust than I expected, and I would have liked a more pronounced flavor, maybe with the addition of basil or garlic. However, those who enjoy alla vodka pasta, which I typically do, will likely find it enjoyable.   Regarding the Diavolo, it was a commendable dish but slightly more fishy than anticipated, more so than one might expect considering the seafood content. The flavor and aroma were quite pronounced, and for those who are not fond of that fishy profile, it might not be the best choice. Overall, while the pasta was good, it did not show the expected level of spiciness and intense flavor associated with its name. Each bite felt somewhat like a spaghetti dish with seasoned scallops and shrimp in a slightly tangy sauce. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the portions of pasta were very generous, and the service was satisfactory. The ambiance, especially in the outdoor area, left something to be desired. However the vibes are what really keep us coming back. The restaurant has a great ambiance and there is usually some great live music on the weekends. They also have a decent happy hour. I only write reviews when the experience is really good or very bad. I'm in a conundrum here. I have been a patron at Bocelli for more than 3 years. At one point I knew most of the staff by name. I was a customer when the ownership changed, was worried, but stayed anyway. It was the site of one my first dates with my girlfriend. We love the place. Last night we went back for the first time in a few months due to travel and it was a disappointing experience. We took seats at the bar and the bartender, a tall gentleman with a thin build recognized me and served us both with waters, and then commenced to ignore us for more than ten minutes. A second bartender, a young dark-haired woman, also ignored us. Frustrated, I finally got the attention of the manager who gave us napkins, took our drink and food orders. All the while , the bartenders continued to ignore us. The food was EXCELLENT!! It always is. When we asked for boxes for our leftovers, the aforementioned bartender finally started showing us some attention. He meticulously placed our food in a bag and showed the level of attention and professionalism I expected when I sat down. Out of courtesy, only, I left the standard 20% tip. It should have gone to the manager as the bartender did NOTHING to deserve it. Hence, the conundrum I mentioned at the top of this review. Kudos to the manager for recognizing two customers in need of service. We'll probably go back, but not until the sting of this experience fades. Bocelli is a good restaurant. Am a black man and my girlfriend is white. I really don't want to think this was the bartender's issue. I try not to get in other people's heads. So, I was very excited and my expectations were high. We ordered the Short Rib Pizza and the Carbonara. The Short Rib pizza is tasty and I 100% recommend. The Carbonara on the other was not a traditional Carbonara. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture, but it was more like a spin on Carbonara than the actual dish. Our service was very friendly, but she wasn't familiar with the menu (not able to answer some of our questions) and wasn't very attentive. I mean I understand, it was most likely a long night and just wanted to go home. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. To summarize my experience, the Carbonara was overpriced for what it is and the service wasn't the best. However I do think the Short Rib pizza was fairly priced and delicious. read more

This would be a five star plus review of it weren't for my friend and I getting dripped on by condensation from the air conditioning pipe running over our seating area. Probably twenty drops or more during our dining experience. Six of us went altogether and only we two had that issue. The service was outstanding and I'm sorry I don't remember the young lady who helped, as she was engaging, attentive and delightful. Young, pretty, tall AA young lady who had recently moved from St Pete to Tampa. Hoping that management might recognize her so they can reward her. Food was delicious all around.
