I love this restaurant. Everything that I have tried on the menu has been exceptionally delicious. My all time favorite menu item however is the porkchops with vinegar peppers. You get two HUGE chops with either sweet, hot or combo peppers. I get with the combo. Oh, I should've really started with when you come into the restaurant. There is always someone to greet you and seat you with a smile. Once you are seated, your server brings out the bread basket, a plate of garbanzo bean salad (it's awesome) and your water while you look over the menu. Now back to the first paragraph, everything that I have tried was fantastic. My suggestion do save yourself room for dessert. They have an extensive dessert menu. Try the cannoli, I promise you, you will not be disappointed. Their cappuccino is also very good and for people like myself who can not have caffeine, they have a decaf version. My first exposure to Pasta Pasta came via a recommendation from a food supply merchant who noted that this restaurant bought only high quality food products. A good sign, for sure! This is apparent when you eat at Pasta Pasta. All food is top quality and their dishes range from good to excellent. I held a graduation party in their side room and was very pleased. The staff was friendly and helpful while the food was abundant and excellent. Our guests still talk about the food that day. So this is the place where my love of Italian Cheesecake started. The food here is good, I used to come here when I lived in Morris Park. After trying their Italian Cheesecake, I was hooked! This ricotta cheesecake was exactly that, not like others that claim to be yet still contain a lot of cream cheese in it. The ricotta was the star with in this version and although it looked heavy, it was surprisingly light with a touch of lemon zest you could see and taste. It was beautiful. Being nearby I had to pop in and grab a piece to go home with. Still just as good although, I didn't see the zest, I still got the light lemon flavor. Last time I was there was about 8 years ago and the same staff is still there :) Waited 8 years to go back and so happy I made it finally! read more

Very good. Was pricey for me because i'm a poor graduate student but there was nothing that was not delicious. I wish the waiter had provided more information about the specials as opposed to just showing us them on a white board. Ordered the spicy calamari which was good but had surprise bacon in it and i had to pick around. and i ordered the chicken and avocado salad which was DELICIOUS but it was secretly almost $20 which hurt me big time. We had their Cabernet with dinner which was delicious and a nice pour as well. My partner had eggplant Parmesan which he said was fantastic and one of the best he'd had. Solid restaurant and I'm glad I went. I went on a recommendation from Stacey Richmond, whose Dad represented all the big mafiosi in the 70s and 80s so she knows old school New York Italian food. We celebrated my father's birthday with a large party in the private room. Everything from start to finish was perfect. My father arrived last as it was a surprise party and they were thoughtful enough to reserve parking for him right in front. The appetizers were superb: rollatini, bruschetta and antipasti. The entrees received compliments all around: the fish was fresh and delectably spiced, the meats were tender and tasty and the vegetables delicious. Portions were generous. Everyone went home with extra food. And the cake, a chocolate chocolate chip cake was a chocolate lovers dream: dense, rich and transporting. Yes the prices are a little higher but you get what you pay for. I'll just highlight my favorite meal. The bread- warm and fabulous. Appetizers- Clam Oreganata (ooooo this is some lemon buttery garlicky goodness) Entrees- Chicken francese with a side of broccoli rabe (so so so good and tender) Dessert- Crème brulee (perfect cap to a wonderful meal). There's a reason why you don't need a reservation here on a Saturday night. The waiters were very nice, but the appetizers (marinated artichokes with asparagus, served cold, and clams oreganatto) were not wow inducing. The agnoletti ravioli with porcini was the star of the meal and very good. But the eggplant parm (supposed house specialty) was the worst I have ever had. Badly fried eggplant (think soggy, oil saturated) was saucelessly and cheeselessly stacked with the only hint of sauce and cheese on the very top. VERY disappointing. Saving grace came with a very good cappuccino (complete with natural sugar swizzle stick) and a good almond tiramisu. The ambience was nice enough and the waitstaff friendly. Finally a date night with the mister. It started off with paper menus I thought were place mats of some sort. I ordered fried calamari which was chewy and freezer burnt. I then reviewed my main entree which was cold because the appetizer took 35 mins to come out. My chicken scarpelli was dried and had way to much vinegar why I have no clue it would have vinegar. I've enjoyed every meal here from the minestrone soup to the entrees to the chocolate cake and cappuccino. The service is friendly and good, from the maitre d' to the servers to the take-out/bar. Lots of locals in the dining room. The sauce on all pastas is delicious. Big portions; we often have leftovers to bring home. Best dishes: rigatoni alla segreto, paglia fieno, ziti, Sunday gravy.
