Oh my God, the food and service were amazing. We went there for a repast after a funeral. The food was so good, course after course. We had a wonderful server named Ulysses. He was very attentive and patient with the 18 of us who were there. It's a haul for us from New Jersey, but we plan on going again. The restaurant is well maintained and the atmosphere is wonderful. I'm only sorry I didn't take pictures of the food, I was pretty hungry. All in all, it's a great place to eat!

Just had a catered meal here. It was amazing. The service was incredible. The food was delicious. I think we had 7 courses, but am not entirely certain as it was hard to keep track. The rosemary foccacia, vodka penne, and potato croquettes were my all stars. But the chicken parm, veggies, salad, pasta course, and eggplant rolatine were also wonderful. Hope to return sometime soon.

Delicious food, great service, fun ambiance. I came here for the first time for Christmas Eve. The food was delicious on a busy night so I can imagine this is the real deal on a regular night. This will now be my go-to restaurant in the Bronx. First you get started with bread & some garlic bread, then a salad for the table. We ordered baked claims and Burrata with grilled veggies. Delish but the veggies were surprisingly good, perfectly grilled and paired well. Our mains (pictured) were incredible! I will be recommending this place to all my friends and family!

Originally we randomly tried Fratellis one night. To say the least, I was impressed. I ended up ordering an entree off the specials that consisted of chicken cutlet, prosciutto, mozzarella and vodka sauce served with spaghetti and string beans. When we picked up our food, it was handed to us in a half tray! What an amazing portion, and more importantly, it was absolutely delicious! I order it everytime we get takeout! The shrimp scampi was also very good! Solid spot for takeout! Looking forward to dining in soon!

I go all out when I come here becuase it's fast seafood at it's best, steamed, raw or fried. You order at the counter for things you want, so plan your order with friends so you can get what you want all at once. Send one to get the fried's, one to get the steamed, raw, etc. It looks like any seasonal shack on the eastern seaboard, but just a tad busier and a tad nicer. Service is good becuase it's far enough away from the NYC grind that people aint tryna bring that vibe. They're trying to have a different experience. It's got great views. Cash only of course. Seating is cafeteria style. I usually have to go for a walk afterwards to help digest everything. Prices are high if you indulge or come with your whole family, but it's kinda in line if your tryna splurge and go big. My usual order is steamed snow crab legs, fried calamari, fried clam strips, steamed cherry's and little necks (or raw if it's daytime or late summer) and a steamed whole snapper if I'm with more than 1 person. It's a feast, but worth a gout attack. It's fresh seafood that's well prepared and simple. You can't go wrong on the cocktail sauces, butter, lemon on most items.

Friends took me here for my birthday and we had reservations at another place, but they "lost" them? All of us have been here before so we decided why not, and see what happens. The place was incredibly busy, we had about a 20 minute wait but it was worth it! Our server Robert was top notch. Professional and cordial. He Immediately came over with glasses of water, garlic bread, cheese and olive tapas, a house salad, and napkins. Tried the broiled fisherman's combo: shrimp, scallops, fish fillet, mussels, stuffed clams, lobster tail, and a side, I opted for linguini with garlic aioli. Everything was cooked very well and the presentation amazing and beautiful. Now here's something you don't see every day; an actual stuffed clam where the clam is still partially attached to the shell! None of that surimi crap! Finished the meal with a double espresso, shared a tartufo and cheese cake. I don't know if the digestif was complementary, but it was a nice touch. I don't know how the kitchen keeps up with the orders. The waitstaff must put a few miles on their feet a day and a cardio workout carrying the trays overflowing with food. Amazing! Everything in the restaurant is kept neat, clean, and organized. The music is not overwhelming. You can hear each other at the table. When the weather is a little nicer, they have beautiful outdoor seating with views of Long Island sound. It is very romantic, when the sun is setting, you can imagine yourself being somewhere exotic and far away. As the song goes; "Sometimes you don't know what you got till it's gone."

BLUF: Good for seafood lovers; meat-heavy eaters might choose another place…read more Kaijin Seafood Buffet is an all-you-can-eat (ACYE) Chinese buffet restaurant; one of few ACYE restaurants that offer snow crab legs and lobster tails. Lobster tails are not ACYE, but are brought out every half-hour -- customers might have to queue to receive one. Customers can receive a maximum of four lobster tails during a two-hour visit, depending on visit timing. The lobster tails were heavy seasoned in Old Bay seasoning and very salty. One lobster tail should be enough for most (because of the salt), but I had two. We counted three calls for lobster during our visit. The rest of the food was above average for AYCE restaurants. All versions of the chicken wings were moist. All versions of shrimp were deveined. I preferred the "cold" (unseasoned) snow crab legs, which were of a good quality, naturally sweet, not greasy, and not salty. The steamed flounder dish was nearly perfectly cooked. I'm told that the string beans were very good, too. Desserts were well represented. The fruit was fresh. Even though the egg tarts lacked custard, the shells were crisp and flaky. We liked the tiramisu, as it was made with ladyfinger cookies and had a good amount of coffee flavor. All drinks are included in the price; we had hot tea, soda, and a boba tea drink. Other: The restaurant is brightly lit, and the seats are comfortably cushioned. There is booth-style, half-circle booth, and community-table style seating. There are adequately maintained men's and women's restrooms. There is free, VPN-friendly, Wi-Fi. Service is pretty good; they regularly cleared finished plates from our table. As of this writing, Kaijin Seafood Buffet seems to be a participant in Rakuten Dining. Suggested tips are based on post-tax subtotals, and start at 15%.

Dakota's on the Cove has been in my periphery for a while. Up until today, I had not been here…read moresince the space was its former occupant, Ice House. While I had heard mixed things about Dakota's, I wanted to check it out for myself. I had been meaning to catch up with some of my IRL Yelp friends, and thought this would be a great place to meet up - so off we went. Dakota's is located right on the water in Throgg's Neck and provides great views of the marina. The dining area is separated into a front room, bar area, back room, outdoor patio, and a biergarten area. The decor and aesthetics have a nautical vibe - think blues, greys, and whites with lots of clean lines. One of my friends told me that the menu is relatively new, as they got a new chef ~ 2 weeks ago. The menu isn't large, in fact it's somewhat limited in my view; there are a few apps, mains, and sides - but I would like to have seen an expanded salad selection (there are only two on the menu) and a sandwich section, especially given the aesthetics and the fact that they're open for lunch. We decided to start by sharing some apps and one of their salads: the tuna tartare, the mussels, and the specific salad name escapes me but it had feta whip. Everything was very good - the tuna was fresh and came with some thin crostini that provided a welcome contrast in texture. The salad was flavorful, but the portion was small for the price and the combination of feta whip with the dressing made it a little too wet. The mussels were great - we chose to have them prepared in a white wine sauce which was super flavorful. It came with two pieces of focaccia which were good albeit slightly stale; crostini would have been better. For mains, we split two: the fish and chips and the linguine with clam sauce. The former was pretty good - two generous pieces of fish, but it could have used more fries; the apple slaw it was served with cut through the heaviness of the dish well. The linguini was also good, however it's hard for me to justify a pasta dish being over $30 - especially in this case where there were relatively few clams and the portion was not big. We also ordered a side of broccoli rabe which was good - though the addition of some garlic bulbs/slices would have elevated it. For desert we split the lemon gelée abd biscoff cheesecake. I wasn't a fan of the former, it had a tough-ish consistency and lacked flavor; the cheesecake was better. Service was excellent; we made conversation with several members of staff while we were there - including the owner. They are really putting an effort in to make this place great and I saw it in all aspects of my experience. Overall, I had a great time at Dakota's; I think they still need to fine-tune their menu, especially in relation to portion sizes and prices. However, if this is an improvement from where they were, then they're taking a step in the right direction.

It really is a bang for your buck. The food was hot and fresh especially the sides. If it is one thing they know how to do its the sides. My boil itself was simply ok. It was a little too salty for my taste and the crab legs were extremely overcooked and and salty. While it was salty I do not believe this to be a normal occurrence or at least I hope not. In addition the crab legs in the special are smaller than the crab legs from a normal crab leg order. This time around the side that takes the award was hands down the fried rice. I would go back just to order this. The waitstaff is hit and miss. My first time we had a super attentive waitress this time my waitress was very busy as she was the only one and also she was working the bar too. Upon arrival the only available table for a party of 2 was directly in front of the DJ speakers so we sat at the bar. The bartender comes over and I tell her we're here for their Tuesday Happy Hour specials. As per their IG post tacos (ALL) are $2. So we ordered chicken, shrimp & steak. The bartender tells me the steak isn't included and is an additional charge. So I pull up the IG post which states differently. She's unaware of the post or special and has to run it by a manager. We ordered 6 tacos but 7 came out. I pointed out the extra taco she apologized and said we wouldn't be charged for it. Next I order the froze. The froze and the margarita were both juice like. Entirely too sweet for the froze and too much sour mix on the margarita. The tacos were mid, steak was tough & chicken wasn't seasoned. The check comes and we were charged the $2 for the steak taco, the 7th taco that I didn't order (the bartender was suppose to comp) was on the bill and froze that was suppose to be $2 as per the IG post was $13. I bring the price difference of the Froze to the bartenders attention and she states that the $2 froze is in a smaller cup than what she gave me. How would I know that? I showed her the IG post with specials upon placing my first order. Clearly if it's a Tuesday special and I'm ordering on a Tuesday that's why I'm ordering it. She said she would have to speak to a manager came back and said the manager wouldn't honor the $2 advertised price. I paid my bill and left. To make a social media post to gain patrons.... Patrons come specifically for said specials and then not honor them?! Such a waste of time and money. The service, food and drinks are subpar at best.
