We came to Nashville for a wedding and our hotel was a couple of blocks from Amerigo so we thought it was a no brainer to walk and eat there. Wrong! Our server Jenna was very condescending. We are in our late 50's and to be talked to by a young adult like we are children is unacceptable. Heating my dessert that I asked for in a to go so that I could "eat some here and easily leave with it" shouldn't cause you to speak to me so rudely. I won't go into all the sordid details but when I spoke with the, I think she said assistant general manager, she said it hurt her heart to hear about our experience. She then went on to lament how busy they were (it was not that busy, it was a 20 min wait for two) and how she was helping the bartender. Boo hoo. Isn't that a restaurant's dream? To be busy? Do not make excuses. Own it. Do better. Serving me a cup of previously melted ice cream that was refrozen with my to go dessert is unacceptable. Also the lump crab meat on my chicken piccata tasted spoiled. Also, if I'm paying $13 for an old fashioned, use the block of ice and not the ice that looks like it came from a bag of ice from the circle K. The drink was delicious but I had to scoop out all of the pieces of ice to keep it from watering down quickly. This location was a huge disappointment.

He recommended the homemade mozzarella sticks with their marinara sauce as an appetizer. They were very good. I enjoyed the sauce so much that I ordered the chicken parm with spaghetti. My wife ordered the halibut over spinach. Both of us enjoyed our meal. We ended up ordering cannolis for dessert. Both of us enjoyed the whole meal. The restaurant is very modern and a bright place. You can see your meal being prepared by the chefs with an open concept.

I believe our server's name was John. The restaurant itself is beautiful and everyone was very friendly. We got quite a few things to share. We started with the grilled artichoke and foccacia bread with pesto which were both excellent. Really enjoyed the saltiness of the bread and the grilled warm lemon that they served with the artichoke. I would like to try the meatballs next. For our next dish, we got the Sunday lasagna. Really nice presentation and the noodles were so thin and fresh. The meat was so flavorful and delicious. We also got the pig pizza and spicy vodka rigatoni. The spicy vodka rigatoni was very spicy. Honestly, it was almost too spicy for me to eat much of it. My husband loved it though! I put some parmesan on mine but he felt he didn't need it. We also got the pig pizza which was delicious and flavorful as well. The salami on it definitely had some spicy kick to it though!

The shrimp scampi was excellent, the chicken parmesan was delicious, and overall the meal exceeded my expectations. I even enjoyed an Old Fashioned, although the quality seemed somewhat inconsistent from drink to drink. Because of that great first experience, I decided to bring my wife back for a second visit. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The shrimp scampi was overcooked, and the shrimp was tough. There was very little of the butter garlic sauce that normally accompanies the dish and is perfect for the bread. The chicken parmesan was also overcooked and tough. I wanted to bring this to your attention because the difference between our first and second visits was significant. I know the restaurant is capable of providing an excellent dining experience, which is why this recent visit was so disappointing.
