I began my night by ordering Risotto Balls, an appetizer so good that it rivals the risotto balls I had in Rome earlier this year. For my entree, I ordered the Chicken Parm which is one of the best Chicken Parms I have ever had. First time here and it did not disappoint! I was invited to my friend's birthday dinner and it was top notch from start to finish. We were a large party but our server was fantastic, she checked in frequently, offered suggestions when asked and helped make our girls birthday extra special! I am still getting used to Nashville prices. I was taken back by the final bill for 3 people. But I still think it was worth for 2 reasons: the meals were delicious and the service was great. This was my fourth visit to Pastaria. The service is always friendly and prompt here. The menu is an array of fresh house made pastas and wood fired artisan pizza. Had an incredible dinner at Pasteria! We ordered the crispy risotto balls (there were 6 of them, which was great for 2 people) and the burrata as an appetizer. The bread that was served with the burrata was INCREDIBLE. It was grilled and had light salt that was swoon worthy!! True chef's kiss for that bread. First off, let me say the food is spectacular. We were big fans of the original location in St. Louis and we love the Nashville food as well. We had a terrible experience with the hostess a few months ago when we tried to get in with a reservation we had booked. She was hands down, the rudest person I've ever encountered. I did nothing because everyone has a bad day and like I said, we love the food and majority of the staff. Last night we tried again. It was Sunday evening at 5pm. My family of five was super pumped about going. I called ahead when we were 10 minutes away to be sure. The nice woman I spoke to (not the hostess) on the phone said, "You can get a table of 5 no problem. In fact, there's hardly anyone here and I'm not even going to write your name down for a reservation. There are plenty of spots and we will see you soon." I said, "Thank you so much, we are 10 minutes away." When we walked in I saw the hostess from the previous experience who flat out refused to seat us after we had a reservation months ago until we got management involved (for no reason except that she felt it was too busy even though we had reserved a table). When we arrived it was 5:10 and the restaurant was virtually empty. The first thing out of her mouth was not hello it was, "Do you have a reservation?" We explained that we did not but had just spoken to someone on the phone saying we didn't need one and to come on over. She soured her face and looked around at the empty restaurant (to be fair there were maybe 4 tables out of the 30 filled) and said- you could sit on the patio but that's all the availability we have. It was 95 degrees out. My husband politely asked why we could not have an empty table and she said it was because they were short staffed. We didn't really understand how being short staffed would benefit the servers to have to walk through another door to the outside but she was hell bent on just saying no to anything we asked. Thankfully, a manager stepped in and the waitress who was very new but very nice was wonderful. I love Pastaria and the food is divine, but I cannot go back as long as that girl is working the front. She was extremely rude and just nasty for no reason. We don't go out to eat that often with a family of 5 and it's a special occasion when we do, so it's a huge disappointment to be treated that way. read more

Parking available in the garage & nearby lots, and they do validate for up to 2 hours I believe. Service was good, no issues there. And the ambiance was comfy. Not too loud & a good atmosphere to hang out for a bit. I'll admit I was a little iffy seeing as the prices were definitely on the higher end for pasta. But considering the pasta is all homemade, fresh, and the portion sizes are larger than they seem in photos, I was very satisfied. Normally pasta or Italian food makes me feel heavy and weighed down, but other than feeling FULL, this didn't give me any of the discomfort other restaurants have. I wish I remembered our server's name, but he was SO nice. When he ID'd us for drinks he realized it was my birthday and at the end of the night brought me out a free scoop of his favorite gelato for me to try with a candle on it. This was after I had already ordered a slice of their birthday cake dessert, so I really got to have my cake (and ice cream) and eat it too. The portions were great for dinner, but I would imagine this may be a bit too much for a lunch portion. The idea of going out with family and having a great meal is to get away from that for a while. Delicious food, thoughtful staff, and an inviting atmosphere. 4 of us had an early dinner. We started with a pizza to share; pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and onions. Pizza was cooked well, although two of our guests would have liked it cooked a bit longer. The pizza had 8 slices, so it was perfect for 4 people. We ordered 1 salad and 3 pastas for dinner. All were good sized portions with lots of flavor. My wife had the chopped salad and really enjoyed the green olives and pistachios. I had the Garganelli Pork Ragu. Noodles were hearty and perfectly cooked. And, unlike some restaurants, the sauce contained lots of the delicious shredded pork. This was the table's favorite dish. Our guests had the Bucatini Regate and the Chitarra al Pomodora. The Bucatini had a little spice to it and was delicious. The Chitarra was in a tasty tomato sauce. All the noodles in all the pasta dishes were perfectly cooked and delicious. Gluten free pasta and whole wheat pasta are also available for $3.65 more. I followed our waiter's recommendation and tried the granchio maruzze. It had WAY too much pepper on it. After the first bite I was coughing up a storm. Came here with a few friends for my birthday. There is free two hour parking in the parking nearby which is always a bonus. The place is clean, cozy, but spacious. The waitress was so nice to welcome us and explain the menu to us. She even took our picture for us and put a birthday candle in the dessert we ordered. The food was delicious!
