Got takeout from here to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary, I waited at least 20 mins for it to be ready. (In addition to the 20 mins before arriving there), when j got home the order was completely wrong and not good. We ordered chicken parm w/side or linguini Alfredo, and chicken Saltimboca with linguini. We got orange chicken piccata (non edible) and veal saltimboca with angel hair. I tried to call Pastamore several times and just got a fast busy signal. When I was there picking up my order a man walked in and said "I called for take out, got out in hold and then got hung up on and then the phone was taken off the hook". There is no Facebook message option and no email contact info so Yelp and old fashioned snail mail seems to be main communication when you can't reach them by phone. We had been here a few times before and alway liked it... unfortunate to have this be our anniversary dinner. read more

I had the chicken cacciatore, and the minute I took my first taste, I knew something was wrong. It didn't even taste like pasta sauce and had way too much oil in it. I decided to eat it, which was my mistake because I was sick all night and had indescribable diarrhea the next morning. I honestly have no idea what it was I actually ate, but it was not good, I can tell you that. I will never ever go there again. I've read that other people have said their dishes were excellent, so all I will say is DON'T GET THE CACCIATORE !! The waitress was an absolute doll, the place was clean, and the windows added a nice touch to the atmosphere, but ultimately, it's the food that counts, and so I was gravely disappointed. read more

Amazing service & martinis in a family friendly environment. Three of us and a baby enjoyed our meal and the friendly service.

What a find! If it weren't for the unavailability of an espresso to provide a finish to the meal, (only because their machine was broken) this place was darn near perfect. Having been stationed in Northern Italy twice, I am a huge fan of Italian restaurants that stick to their roots. This place is authentic both in menu and in service. If you are looking for a Pizza Hut, don't go here. If you are interested in a "Tucci's" (Aviano Italy), this is right up your alley. The meal began with a complimentary serving of home made Italian bread served with an olive oil and sun dried tomato based dip with a very unusual, and mildly spicy mix of herbs. The only danger with this appetizer is eating too much of it and getting full too soon. The wine menu is limited, but quite good and affordable. The service is attentive and personable. The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable. Really, what else can you ask for from a restaurant? I had the spicy calimari marinara over linguini and my wife had the home made meatball Paninni. Both were outstanding. (One of the benefits of being married to a woman with a small appetite is being able to try more than one meal when we eat out!) The desert selection looked incredible but we were too full to try it. Overpriced and Overated Pastamore has anice friendly atmosphere with italian music gently playing in the background. I brought my girlfriend there for Valentines day and I opted to splurge on the $83 3 course meal complete with a bottle of wine. Now let me say, Im happy with the service, they didn't badger us and were actually very well timed coming back and asking what we wanted or needed. For the appetizer we had the Ceasar salad wich was actually excellent despite the fact that all it was was lettuce and croutons. Really that was it! It was extremely good, whatever sauce they used was bursting with flavor. They provide you with some bread and sauce to dip it in, this was also very good and actually besides the salad my favorite thing. For the Main course I had this seafood linguini thing with shrimp mussels and clams in it. It really wasnt that good, they gave me plenty of it, it filled me up but ehh.. At this point I was thinking, "I paid 80 bucks for this?" It was plain, the sauce was watery and lacking any sort of flavor. It was like somebody combined a can of generic tomato sauce with some tomato chunks and no spices. I mean, I was expecting something special when it came to the actual Pasta here. But sadly no. My girlfriend got this Trio thing, some lasagna, some Linguini, and some veal. It looked better than what i ordered as soon as i saw it. And overall it was "acceptible"...just... Ok, the veal tasted like a frozen veal patty, not made from fresh meat. no basil, no spices.. ect. Kinda plain. Ive made better at home. The lasagna was equally plain and boring, with not even any ricotta cheese inside it. Just kinda bland tasting hamburg. Where is the basil? Where is the oregano? Where is the flavor? Her linguini, well it was basicly a small heap in the corner of the plate with butter and parmesan cheese on it. Thats it. Probly .10 cents worth of pasta, without even any sorta cheese sauce or anything. Again, her and my food were all acceptible things to eat its just.....it failed to impress me at all. I wasn't blown away by anything except the bread and the salad which were cheap and free. I cant comment too much on the wine, Im no conniseur, it did its job and they did bring us an ice bucket which was kinda classy I admit. The waitress was very nice and friendly as well. The Dessert... I got this gelato egg looking thing called a "Bombi", it was sorta cool, like a ball of ice cream with a cherry in the middle covered with a crust of chocolate. I dont have a huge sweet tooth but it was pretty good I guess. My girlfriend got a piece of cake, I cant remember what they called it but.. i couldnt shake the sneaky suspicion that they didnt actually make this cake, it looked too perfect, too "production line". I may be wrong on that but thats what i think. It would have been better if it were warm. She liked it at any rate and said it was really good. $5 for 1 thin slice of cake though? honestly this place must make bank! I checked out the bottle of wine, Mezzacorona Pina Grigio, a sub-10 dollar bottle of wine. Maybe 7 bucks at a supermarket.. Again, worth 80 bucks?? This was maybe 20 dollars worth of food that wasnt really anything special.. Ive only been to 2 Italian restaurants ever, Pastamore and the Olive Garden. The Olive Garden Impressed the HELL out of me, EVERYTHING was good, like better than I could make good and I felt like it was money well spent. I didnt feel guilty about spending 50 bucks when I left... thats right 50!....not the 99.56 it came to at the Pastamore. Money isnt even the issue, if i go to restaurant I want to experience something great, something i cant do myself, than it becomes worth the money because of the good feeling it leaves you with. Our first visit....and our last. The service was great. Very attentive and nice. The food however was disappointing and overpriced. We started with the Suppli, over cooked on the outside, cold inside. Bland and pasty. Ive had others that were much better. My mushroom ravioli was good. My husbands veal parm was awful. Watery pasta and sauce and soggy parm. The flavor of the veal was okay, but the rest was not good. We finished with coffee and espresso which was quite good. The cannoli was stale and bland. Tasted old and had the "been in the refrigerator" too long taste. Our meal came in at 70$ and was hardly worth it. We expressed our unhappiness with the food every step of the way, we got apologies but thats all. We will not return, and sadly agreed that Giorgios was actually better, and we do not care for Giorgios at all. read more

I've dined at PastAmore a few times and I must say that their chicken Parmesan is one of the best around. The chicken was seasoned perfected and the cheese and sauce was also good. The bread accompanying the meal was fabulous. My wife enjoyed her Veal Saltimboca as well. read more

The food was ok...not bad not the best, but the reason for the low stars was the service...our waitress was MIA for most of the time we were there..had to hunt her down to get refills, more bread, the check etc., never once checking on us to see if we needed anything. Asked for boxes, when she tried to box our food up, a member of our party told her nicely that we could do that, she dropped the boxes on the table and left without saying anything, making everyone uncomfortable. While visiting the area last week, we dined here. I was pleasantly surprised, as the food was wonderful! I had the Eggplant Parmigiana (by now you must have surmised that I love Eggplant Parmigiana ) and it was very tasty. . Hubby and our other dining companions had chicken or veal marsala and they pronounced it equally as good. We also split the Bruschetta for an appetizer, and it was delicious. Hubby and I had the most fabulous Vodka Martins in recent memory. They were so incredibly smooth and perfect! For dessert, we all had the Chocolate Bomb, and I must say, it is so adequately named, because it is, The bomb! I have read that some diners feel the restaurant is a little pricey, but an amply prepared dinner for four with drinks, appetizer, salads and dessert on a Friday night,was quite reasonable. Our waitress was extremely nice and friendly. I held back one star because the atmosphere (to me) didn't seem to warrant the higher prices. PastAmore is the nearest restaurant, akin to North End of Boston or Federal Hill, Providence, RI. Amazed at the quality, quantity and cost of their cuisine. We have never had such tender veal or chicken. The portions were not overwhelming and we could taste why. We both started with salads which were fresh, then our entrees and desserts. I am so happy Amherst has some authentic Italian food!! This place makes me happy. For lunch I had some hot raspberry tea, warm delicious bread and a chicken parmesan sandwich. Lunch was so good I forgot all about being cold and the miserable pouring rain were getting at the time. A week later I went for dinner. It was definitely more expensive, but worth every penny! I have been here three times and I like this place a lot. The waitstaff has always been efficient and quick, the food abundant and good and the ambiance pleasant. First of all, this place has about 50 seats inside and another 12 outside. If you are planning on eating her after 5 on a weekend night, you should make a reservation. Waitstaff delivered warm Italian bread with oil and spices as well as butter within a few minutes of our being seated. For lunch, I had bosciaola, which is pasta with vegetables and marinara, their take on pasta primavera. Absolutely delicious both times I had it. Nice proportions of pasta, vegetables and fresh and tasty marinara. For dinner, I had veal saltimbocca, one of my favorite Italian dishes. It was good, just not great. The ingredients were all there but the proportions seemed "off" somehow. I would still highly recommend this place. We were hopeful for some good Italian food, based on the reviews, but couldn't be more disappointed. We ordered the fried calamari for an appetizer. I'm not too sure what happened to it, but the calamari itself was so dried out it was basically inedible. The breading on it wasn't over fried so I can only guess they are using cheap, prepared frozen calamari. It was also over salted to make it worse. My husband's gnocchi was so mushy and covered with cheese, it had no real flavor besides the bland cheese they threw on it. My "fresh" pasta had a ricotta and tomato sauce blend, which was subpar and nothing fantastic. My daughter had the chicken fingers off the Kids's menu, which were completely saturated in grease. I wouldn't pay to eat here again. I hate to say it, but The Olive Garden serves better Italian food. read more

After hearing good things, my husband and I decided to go to this place and try it out, as we were craving pasta. The atmosphere is lacking intimacy, as it is open, bright, and the tables are close together. I had the conversation of the two men behind me in my ear the whole time. Although there are wine bottles as decoration throughout, the selection for wine by the glass was very disappointing. There was only one house wine offered for each kind. The menu has a lot of options that sound good, as well as gluten free and whole wheat pasta options. My ravioli came as a small portion, perfect for me, but certainly not for the price. This mushroom based and creamy dish was actually pretty good tasting. My husband got a garden pasta and although it was composed of fresh ingredients, we found it to be bland. For this price, there are other, much better, options for pasta in the area. Atmosphere really brings this place down. read more

I was disappointed in our trip to Pasta Amore tonight. I had heard that they changed owners recently. The food is good, though not as good as it was. It isn't a quiet place to come and eat. We had a 6pm reservation and were seated between a group of 4 and a couple. They had the same wait person. We had to ask for a wait person after 10 minutes of being ignored. We were her only customers in that particular room. It took over 30 minutes for our 3 meals to arrive. We felt like a second thought to her, watching as she brought out food to people that arrived after us in her other section. The food is good but once again not as good as it was. The room they placed us in at 6pm was set up for a birthday party. By 6:30 the guests had arrived and the room got very very loud and by then we were the only guests in the room with the party. Why would you place a table of 3 in a room with a party of 16 to 18? The host has no idea how to time meals or tables. The party was loud and the guests were standing close to us talking loudly making it difficult to speak across a table. My rating of 2 stars is for the food mostly as that was the only enjoyable part of our evening. read more

I had a friend visit me about a month ago, in August, 2013. Had I read the review of Patrick G I never would have gone there. I am glad I never saw the review. When we got there, the parking lot was full. We almost left, assuming the wait would be long. However, we went inside, a woman was right there to greet us, and within two minutes, she came back and guided us to our table. Our waitress was there with water, took our drink order, and was back in a flash. The wine is served in a large glass, the appetizers were to die for. When it came to our meals, they were up in about 15 minutes. Overall, the food is very much above average, the service was excellent, all personnel were pleasant and smiling. My wife and I had dinner here last night. It was her first time and my third time. We ordered cheesy garlic bread, veal marsala, pork and a side of pasta carbonara. We asked for the homemade pasta with our meals. From A-Z it was a perfect dining experience. The food was delicious (as it had been with my prior two experiences there) and the service was outstanding. Food was good. They had no AC on a particularly hot day so the atmosphere was awful, we weren't offered anything as a comp. The calamari wasn't great, very bland. Our entrees were fantastic however. Let me start by saying I had high hopes for this place. As we entered, the smells were delicious. It was a Friday at about 7 p.m. and the room was pretty full. We walked up to the front desk where a man stood and barely looked as us. He said "two" and we said yes as he pointed at a table for us to sit. Not a great welcome. The server was warm and friendly when she finally came to the table. The appetizer took a long time to arrive but was very tasty. It was a spinach and artichoke dip. We were pleased and anxiously awaited our meals. Tic Tock Tic Tock - we both agreed that by 8:30 we were out of there! At 8:31 the food came. The pork dish with pasta on the side was awful. The pork was burnt and the pasta had no flavor. My tortellini was so piping hot it burned my mouth so badly that I could not even think of eating more than that one bite. Since we waited so long we took in the vibe of the place. Most tables around us were waiting just as long but we did notice one side of the restaurant seemed to be getting food while our side just sat. We thought this was really strange until we realized (confirmed later by our server) that the server on that side of the room was also cooking the food! WTF?!? Hire some staff would you? The servers were bussing tables and people waited at the door because, well, they only have two hands and if they are serving appetizers, apologizing to everyone for the wait and cooking the food who the heck is left to clean tables? That's right, the laziest and most uncaring dude in the place - standing behind the counter, never looking up from whatever the heck he was pretending to do. This dude never lifted a finger to help anyone. What a jerk. Anyway, our server who was very nice and tried her best, told this dude we were not happy with the food and he never looked up, removed one (the cheapest) entree from the bill and we left. He never came over, never apologized, nothing. I would say the food has potential and the staff is trying but they need more effective help. I am not sure if I would give them another try because I'll need to be willing to waste money and time again and there are just too many restaurants out there that can make good Italian food. I hope they get better. I'd prefer to help the small local business rather than a large restaurant chain. read more

Please allow me to tell you about my experience at PastAmore. On 09/15/2016 at 3:25PM, I felt like having some lasagna, so I called PastAmore, for the very FIRST time, and placed my order to go. The young lady/waitress on the other end said it would take about 25 minutes. So at 3:40PM I headed out and while I was waiting to take a left into the parking lot, off of route 101A, I was greeted with second hand smoke wafting through my driver's-side car window, because (I assume it was) the cook was enjoying his cigarette just outside the kitchen door. I walked in at approximately 3:54 (so I was 4 minutes late) and the young lady/waitress went to check on my order, only to find out it was not ready yet and it would be another 10 MORE minutes. There were absolutely NO patrons in the ENTIRE restaurant at this time. And you can't tell me it takes 35 to 40 minutes to heat up a piece/slice of lasagna! Apparently the cook, or the young lady/waitress forgot to start my order, or the cook just found it way more important to have his cigarette outside. I paid for the lasagna, in the mean time, which came to just under $17.00!!! As I continued to wait, 3 women came in to eat and were seated by a front window. Finally..., the young lady/waitress came out with my order and without an "I'm sorry for the extra wait, or here's a little something for the long wait"..., I got NOTHING and I was off on my way home again. When I got home, I opened up the bag and pulled out a black and clear-lidded plastic container. In that container was a small piece/slice of lasagna that didn't even fill the size of the container and about 1/4 of that piece/slice of lasagna was just meat-sauce! AND in a very little wax bag were 4 teeny, tiny, little slices of bread with 2 pats of butter. I cut the (NOT hot, but MILDLY WARM) lasagna into 10 smaller pieces and it just donned on me that I should do the math. Do you know it actually cost me $1.70 to eat a mildly warm (and NOT the best lasagna I ever had) small, square piece/mouthful of lasagna! Imagine that..., would YOU pay $1.70 to eat a mildly warm (not the best lasagna), small, square piece/mouth-full of lasagna??? I'm not kidding here folks..., you can't even make this stuff up!!! Needless to say, NOT only will I NEVER go back to PastAmore again..., but I will NEVER, EVER recommend anyone to EVER go to PastAmore!!! EVER!!! Oh P.S.~ The ONLY reason I gave PastAmore a "one star" rating is because I HAD to choose at least "one star" to be able to post this rating. But REALLY, in fact, I GIVE PastAmore NO STARS!!! PastAmore gets an absolutely NO STAR rating from me!!! read more

To compare this to the North End is ridiculous ! Its like comparing a cubic zirconia to a diamond ! I was born in the North End, I know Italian Food; . Io sono italiano. The calamari tentaticles were rubber- the bruschetta was flavorless, and unappetizing. Chicken Piccatta had no flavor. It was tasteless how can a dish with lemon, and capers be made tasteless ? Yet they managed to achieve it. You could find better Piccatta in the frozen food section of Walmart. Could it be that the owners are afraid to be Bold with Flavor and served the most Bland Italian food ? The saving grace was the chicken broccoli - seems they do creamy sauces well. That's not all that was done well.. the cappuccino was delicious, the nonna torta was as well. In New Hampshire here are 3 Italian restaurants that are worthy to be compared to the North End or Federal Hill in Rhode Island. This is and Giorgios are NOT among them. read more
