Update: have been back several times now and the food is good. Salsa is still top notch. The beans and rice portion is a tad bit small for the sides of the dinner plates. Margaritas are still fantastic though. The wait for a table hasn't happened yet. We are always seated promptly. The only downside is you need to be alert and ready to wave down a server for water refills or chips/ salsa refills. The first time we came here, we were looking for food after hitting the mall. The second time we came, we went to the mall because we happened to be close by because we wanted to have the best Mexican restaurant in New Hampshire! The food was bland and needed help, but there was no salt and pepper to help fix it. Their frozen margaritas were no better. They obviously don't know the base ingredients in ALL margaritas, whether it has an added flavour or not. We sent them back but they didn't improve for the reason stated. In addition to bad service, bland food and flavourless drinks they also charge a credit card fee (3%), so not only do clientele pay the staff's (tips) wages but also a standard costs (service fees) of running any business. Yesterday my family and I decided to try this restaurant since we were really craving a great Mexican meal. Yes, the food was great but what we really appreciated and were surprised by was the owner, Edith. Whatever the level of success she desires to achieve, she will accomplish. Edith was working just as hard as any other employee of her establishment- if not, harder! I enjoyed reading her story on the back of the menu. You can tell, this is in her blood. What was even more of a surprise is that she and her family lived in Anaheim, CA for nearly 30 years before taking a chance to move to New Hampshire. Lo and behold, we're from Anaheim too! That was a pleasant surprise! The food and drinks were amazing! I'll definitely return. I had the Cancun plate with a corona-rita and my husband had the fajita nachos. Their salsa had a good kick! Coming from California, this is pretty good, authentic Hispanic food. We truly loved it. I hate my little belly didn't have room for dessert but we'll be returning again. First time visit to Los Primos for a take out order was disappointing. I ordered the Carnitas Lunch and Veggie Quesadilla which totaled $28. When I received the order, I immediately noticed that the weight of containers was very light. After inspecting the meals, here were my observations: Carnitas plate had less than three ounces of meat and the Veggie Quesadilla had no more than one tablespoon of guacamole and sour cream. I returned and the manager Bruce asked the kitchen for more carnitas, which I greatly appreciated. Total weight after the adjustment was 5.78 ounces which I weighed on my food scale at home. While the food tasted above average, it is difficult to recommend Los Primos for your next Mexican food fix. read more

We had a wonderful experience at Los Primo's last night. Edith welcomed us right in and by the end of dinner we felt like we were family LOL ! The guacamole was fresh and the chips were just made! The staff is a gracious and attentive. They have a nice selection of tasty margaritas and our meals were made with care. Our friends each ordered Fajitas which they have had here many times before. My wife and I ordered Burritos. I found my Steak Fajita Burrito to have a wonderful, savory seasoning and the right amount of veggies stuffed inside. Fun Fact: the way they present the refried beans showed me how much they care. It's hard to explain but the refried beans were served in a torilla "dish" that might be like the size of your hand. This thoughtful touch solves the common problem of having your rice and beans flowing all over your plate and messing up everything! Then they're topped with refried beans, queso dip, a little shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. I also realized I forgot to take pictures for this one whoops 1/ Food: 7/10 I have had a pretty hard some finding authentic Mexican food in New England so I'd say this one is quite decent. When you first come in, they bring out complementary chips and salsa. Salsa is ok, with some decent spiciness. We ordered some carne asada tacos and camarones chipotle. The meat was tender and juicy. Not a huge fan of the chipotle cheesy sauce but overall both good dishes. 2/ Ambience + Service: 8/10 Great service-- our server was quite attentive and our food came out pretty fast. What most would consider an okay Mexican restaurant for Merrimack, NH. They have the basic offerings and the prices are reasonable. But food lacks that authentic taste and feel. Margaritas are mostly from a food service premix and they only add the booze of your choice. The atmosphere has a repurposed fast food, dining room feel. The service was excellent, but the food was mostly disappointing. If you want some amazing authentic Mexican food made with love and attention to detail, try El Rincon in Manch. Came here based on the ultra positive reviews. And to that extent, I was quite disappointed. It's a small spot, a handful of tables and a bar. Started off with chips and salsa. The chips were the thickest, heaviest chip I've ever seen. The salsa was hot, which I can take, but not my wife. We ordered a side of guacamole and were talked into the $10 large size. If that was the large I would not have wanted to see the small. It was missing something, maybe salt and lime? We both had their Choripollo entree, grilled chicken breasts topped with chorizo and covered with melted cheese. It was a decent portion with rice and refried beans. The chicken was cooked fine but the chorizo topping tasted burnt. Service was very good, attentive even while being pretty busy. Being non-drinkers we did not have a margarita but could see there were plenty being enjoyed throughout the place. Consistently excellent food. Owner is on premise almost all the time. I think the owner being present is a good sign for how the restaurant is run. The margarita menu is good and the house margarita is a solid bargain @ $9.95. Service can sometimes be a little slow but it's nothing that would deter me from going. ;-) The ambiance is similar to other Mexican options in the area. Who are sometimes a very picky eaters. I was so surprised that out of the three kids two ate all of their food. Which is not the norm for my house. Everywhere we normally go. They don't ever. Finish it all. So, prior to us getting our bill our va waitress had a nice conversation with us. Got to know us and we in return got to know her. She originally is from California. Has a son who still resides in California. Had also opened up a night club prior to COVID. But, has her family member now uncharged of it. At th e end we find out that she is the owner of the place. Very nice. I love business and their owners who actually get out there and mingle and get to know their customers. Makes it feel like your one of the family. Out of all the Mexican places that I've been too this is number one in my books. All around from the welcoming atmosphere, the attentiveness, the above service you receive, the food and love shown in making the food, and to the feeling you get from the people who work here actually trying to get to know you and make you feel like your having a Mexican home cooked meal with the family. Way too preoccupied, flipping long hair, and scoop neck top with breasts popping up, over the top of the neck line. Wow, I can't say enough good things about Los Primo's. First, the food is incredibly tasty starting with the homemade tortilla chips and delicious salsa. Just right! The carne asada is yummy, really the best I've ever had. I heard the guy next to me saying the same thing too. We've already been three times and tried a few different things. Every one was really good. The margaritas are nice-- love the tamarind one. They have some cool drink options for groups too. The owner is friendly and comes from Mexico, and brought with her this unique, authentic Mexican food. You can tell she really cares about her customers and goes out of her way for them. My wife and I drove 30 miles to this place after searching for a good and authentic Mexican restaurant within our area. This place did not disappoint! As soon as we walked in, the place is small but inviting and very clean. We sat at the bar and had service very quickly despite the fact there was one person working the floor and bar. Our drinks were made right away, the chips and salsa were delicious and our food was out very quickly after ordering. The food was above and beyond our expectations. She had the carne asada tacos authentic style and I had the Michoacán carnitas that blew me away. Both tasted very fresh, perfect temperature and just plain delicious!
