Bummed that they ran out of taiyaki at 8pm (2 hours before closing). How does a Taiyaki place run out of Taiyaki. I was looking forward to getting one of their creations. Nevertheless, I ended up getting strawberry/mango in a cup. It was alright. Somi Somi is better.

I highly recommend getting a cup to put your taiyaki because the sleeve will get very drippy and messy. I got the red bean with mango and vanilla swirl (vegan) it was yummy, I think better than somi somi.

Beautiful and delicious matcha icecream in a warm fish-shaped waffle cone. The area around the Taiyaki NYC store was also beautiful!

Cute small little store with lots of outdoor open access seating!! There was no line and we got our food very quickly after we ordered! I got the make your own custard taiyaki with chocolate and vanilla ice cream, condensed milk syrup, and Oreo with mochi. The taiyaki was delicious and so so cute! Mine was a bit mushy while my friend's was more crispy, so it really depends on who made the taiyaki! The soft serve itself was standard - very creamy! Definitely a cute experience for the photos, especially the unicorne one!

Best sweet treat in Seaport! Got the #1 Classic to share in a cup and it was fantastic. Service was super quick and can eat it outside on the benches. Waffle + soft serve just can't be beat.

Cute ice cream spot, though it feels more like a dessert than traditional ice cream. Highly recommend getting a cup since it melts quickly. Get the mixed flavor one like number 4 hojita and matcha together!

I love the Taiyaki ice cream generally but this location is so bad. I went in on a cold night in March (4 kids/2 adults), the place was empty and the staff seemed annoyed that anyone came in to interrupt their phone time. They literally had 75% of the indoor space roped off with a sign not to stand there for no apparent reason except to encourage people to move outside. It was in the 30s with high winds - who wants to eat ice cream outdoors in the freezing cold? While we were waiting for our order another group came in and quickly left after they realized there was no where for them to stand while they ate their ice cream. We awkwardly ate our ice cream in the small space available that wasn't roped off.

Okay this ice cream is delicious and stunning. We couldn't help but hold out our ice creams for this pic. It truly is just as good as it looks!! I got the vanilla with Oreo crumbs and chocolate syrup drizzled on top and it was heaven in a cone. I mean look at these fish cones!! We were obsessed. The taste of the cone reminded us of a waffle cone and it's stuffed with the perfect amount of custard to add a little something something to your bite too. The store itself fits about 6 people at once so there may be a line out front but it moves fast.

The icecream itself was pretty good, and the appearance with the fish cone is so cute and unique. I got the custard version and it was great. However, the icecream is soft serve and it began melting in a critical way immediately upon stepping outside of the store. You literally have to eat it as fast as you can to avoid it getting all over you. Mine was gone in under 2 minutes and it still ended up being a mess. This wouldn't be a big issue if they had searing inside the store, but unfortunately it's pretty tight inside.

Great place for a quick snack. I got the chocolate ice cream. It was beautiful to look at but it does melt quickly. The place is quite small but the service is quick. The ice cream was soft serve and great for the summertime. It is located right in seaport so you can enjoy your ice cream by the ocean

Visit this location for some taiyaki (waffles shaped in a fish) and ice cream! They offer a selection of flavors although it looks like matcha/hojicha is their most popular combo of flavors. If you're not craving ice cream, there are also pastries (mochi donuts) and lattes as well as traditional taiyakis filled with red bean or custard. The wait for my red bean taiyaki was a bit long but it was a busy night. Overall, would recommend checking this place out!

Taiyaki NYC has cute fish cone ice cream! There's a couple different flavors of ice cream you can choose from, as well as toppings + choice of fish cone, cup, or waffle cone. They also have preset signature options. I wish their matcha had less vanilla flavor and stronger on the matcha. The matcha ice cream honestly just taste like vanilla ice cream. I do like the concept and eating their cones though but their ice cream is just mid.

I had been walking my daughter around this neighborhood for awhile after the park and museums and she wanted some ice cream since it was warm out. We hadn't really eaten much so I agreed just to replenish some energy, a quick map search popped this place up only 2 blocks away and decided to check it out. Really just a hole in the wall take out place, seating for maybe 3-4 people, but they also had a sign stating only 4 people(I think) at a time in the shop. Having never heard of Taiyaki before I'm glad we stopped in. We tried their Signature #1 Classic and I ordered Mochi mini taiyaki with strawberry cream. It was really cool to watch them pour the dough into the molds and make them fresh. The Classic was great, we were able to snack on it while the mini were being made. It was a perfect ice cream treat with a really delicious and fun "cone". My daughter loved the fish, and it was a nice rich dough but not too sweet. The mini mochi came out piping hot and they packed them up in a paper cup for us with the cream on the side. It was perfect to take back to the hotel with us to share with mom. They had a nice red bean filling, not too sweet, but a really nice soft texture. Mixed with the sweet strawberry cream it was a great dessert snack. Really cool place to check out, won't be surprised if we see them popping up on the west coast soon.

I've heard folks raving about this place for years, so finally decided to swing by and try it out…read more First off, must say I'm a bit of a skeptic regarding specialty ice cream shops: with one exception (a now-defunct "frozen custard" shop in Friendswood, Texas of all places, where you could see the super-dense/rich stuff glacially oozing out of the machine, and one milkshake's worth of it kept me full for the rest of the day!) I have yet to find any that are significantly better than ordinary Haagen Daz from a supermarket. In fact, most ice cream parlour ice creams aren't even as good, while costing orders of magnitude more than supermarket H-D! Toscanini's is close to equal to H-D in my book...and mainly for the fact that they offer some truly unusual and original flavors: we had the Mango Sticky Rice, Burnt Caramel, and Kulfi. My friend who enjoyed the first one the most, quickly tired of the second, and the third was my favorite by far, mainly because I love cardamom and saffron so much. I was somewhat conflicted with the Burnt Caramel...first taste was delightful, but halfway through the novelty faded away for the most part. We both appreciated that the ice cream was not hyper-sweet like JP Licks, though. HOWEVER, the extreme creaminess, density, and dry mouth-feel of H-D was just not there, as usual. I'd describe the texture of Toscanini's ice cream to be fairly ordinary, like a typical soft/smooth gelato texture. Not bad, but not anything I would really write home about. YMMV of course. Otherwise, service was good and the place is clean and pleasantly modern inside, with 3 nice new steel benches to sit at outside. The benches are curiously turned AWAY from the street, I suppose to foster more of a "communal" vibe and people-watching opportunities. I've walked by during peak hours and seen it quite full, so this place clearly is still quite popular. At $8.25 for 3 scoops (albeit fairly generous sized scoops) of oh, 8 out of 10 ice cream, I don't see myself ever becoming a regular here despite the undeniably interesting/unique flavors, unless I came mainly for the people-watching opps on a nice weather day.

If I had gone to the Harvard location I would have been in and out in 5-10 minutes. That was not the case at the North End location but in fairness it was Friday night and around the time people want dessert. The North End location had four lines from the counter to the door with the line out the door. They take cash only but while you wait you have plenty of time to decide on what you actually want to get. They have 10+ cannoli flavors plus many other pastries. We opted for a pistachio cannoli and a amaretto cannoli. The cannoli were twice the size of what I was anticipating so we split one on Friday and split the other on Saturday. If I went back I'd get the amaretto again. The pistachio was mostly ricotta tasting. If you go, go early and bring cash!

We walked into a space where the display cases are packed with cannoli, cakes, cookies, lobster tails, and countless Italian pastries, making it difficult to decide what to order. The atmosphere is busy and energetic, with a constant flow of customers, but the staff keeps the line moving surprisingly efficiently, managing the steady crowd with a practiced rhythm that makes the wait feel shorter than it looks. The cannoli are the signature item and the main reason to visit. The shells are crisp and filled to order with a rich, sweet ricotta filling that has a smooth texture without feeling overly heavy. There are plenty of flavors to choose from, including classics like chocolate chip and pistachio, along with seasonal and specialty options. The pistachio cannoli stands out for its generous coating of crushed pistachios, while the chocolate chip version offers a more traditional take that holds up well against the richness of the filling. Beyond the cannoli, the lobster tail pastry is another highlight, with its flaky layers and creamy filling that offers a different texture from the cannoli, and the bakery offers enough variety that it is worth trying more than one dessert. The portions are very generous, and most of the pastries are large enough to share, especially if you are planning to sample a few different items. Everything is displayed behind the counter, making it easy to browse before ordering, though having so many choices can make it take longer to decide. The biggest thing to plan for is the crowd. There is often a line extending outside, especially on weekends and during the summer, but it usually moves faster than it looks because the staff is well organized. Seating is extremely limited, so most people take their pastries to go. It is also worth remembering that the original North End location is cash only, so bringing cash can save you from any surprises. Mike's Pastry is a classic Boston destination that lives up to its reputation if you enjoy rich Italian pastries. The cannoli are the obvious reason to visit, but the wide selection, generous portions, and historic atmosphere make it worth experiencing at least once, even with the crowds.
