This may be an unpopular opinion but I found the food on the bland side. Not bad, but not outstanding. The portions were fine, not too big but I was full. The service was extremely pleasant. Went for late lunch on 6/4. With covid, we had not been going out. I read some reviews more recent since our last visit - the bad reviews made me giggle. Times are tough, covid has made dining out a new and different adventure. Here's out take: we believe Nonna is still in the kitchen cooking up her old world sauce and food. The sauce is quality made - we are Italian and make sauce a lot - have been to Italy as well. The veal was perfect. The mozzarella app was perfect. Even the bread is outstanding. I am recovering from hand surgery so my appetite is reduced- unable to partake in all my faves to include dessert. This place makes us smile. Yes, they have reduced staff, yes this is not the place to go if you are in a hurry. But, they have not compromised the quality of the food and the staff is very nice. we are happy to help local exceptional businesses- and praise the staff who have weathered the covid impact. PastAmore opened up almost two weeks ago in the former Asprirations Bistro & Bakery space on Route 101A Eastbound in Amherst. The parking lot along the side and back of the restaurant is very tight with limited parking spaces. The casual "cafe/bistro-like" dining space inside the restaurant is not that big (3 sections of tables and seats) and can seat up to around 50 people. Reading the previous review was like a script from a Kitchen Nightmares scene, which I was actually watching at home at the same time the previous reviewer was experiencing a disastrous Friday night dinner nightmare at PastAmore. I've had many bad dining experiences and felt the pain. I was reluctant to try PastAmore (give it more time), but I did not let the one star rating sway my decision to head down to PastAmore for lunch, when I knew the place would not be mobbed. I arrived here just after 2PM for lunch and the place was not very busy and there were several customers already dining in. I was seated immediately and given a menu and drink/dessert menu too. PastAmore serves a lunch menu (until 3PM) and dinner. The menu offerings include a variety of Italian bistro dishes such as paninis (lunch only), pasta & sauce dishes (spaghetti, linguine, fettuccine, cappelini, penne), stuffed pasta dishes, parmigianas, appetizers, salads, soup, and desserts (tiramisu, gelato, cannoli, cake). Some dishes on the menu include Lasagna Verdura, Truffle Wild Mushroom Ravioli, Piccata Arancia, Bistecca Giuliano, and Risotto Frutti di Mare, just to name a few. The prices are moderate, lunch prices $7-$10, dinner prices $10-$19, starters $4-$8, and most desserts $5. Beer & wine available. I decided on the Chicken Cacciatore ($8) with Fettucine for lunch. They did not have any soup available during lunch (no soup-a-for you!). I was brought out a basket of very chewy small breadsticks with butter and a spicy oil dipping sauce, pretty decent. The lunch entree arrived to my table in about 10 minutes. I was offered fresh grated cheese on the entree. The Chicken Cacciatore dish was served hot and tasted good, and had onions, green peppers, fresh sliced mushrooms, and tender soft boneless chicken in zesty marinara sauce over very aldente fettucine. The portion of food was modest, it's only lunch! I finished my food quickly. I also could hear some dialogue amongst the staff in the kitchen about how extremely busy the place was last night (Friday). The food I had was good and the service was laid back for the most part since the place was not busy during this visit. The waitress took my order, brought out my drink and food and left me alone to eat and not checking up on the meal. It took a while for the waitress to return to my table after I finished my lunch. I went here Sept 10 to meet with friends. WORST service in any restaurant we have ever had. Took about 15 minutes to get a glass of wine. We asked for additional bread while we were drinking wine and had to remind waitress multiple times. She told us that its 'baking' however it was being served to other tables. We ate our meal THEN bread arrives as we were leaving, but it was delivered by an angry hostess's because our waitress was nowhere to be found. We will NEVER return to this restaurant ever again. You can find better places in the area with better service and better staff attitudes. This was a horrible and embarrassing situation to our invited friends. read more

Delicious food! We ate outdoors and enjoyed the bread and garlicky dipping sauce while we waited for our Veal Saltimbocca and Chicken Marsala. Yummy! My husband also ordered the White Forest martini and really enjoyed it. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the chocolate dessert--it was really waxy and tasteless, so I suggest you avoid it. We did share our thoughts on it to the server, but it stayed on our bill. We would go back but would not order that dessert again. read more

This restaurant never fails to impress. A group of seven went here on a January Saturday night and everything was fantastic. The service was top-notch, including carafes of drinks brought table side. The delicious food was served in a timely fashion and our server was very engaging. The entire staff came out to sing Happy Birthday to my daughter and presented her with a personalized dessert. The service and food quality are unlike any other Italian restaurant in the area. We we there for dinner and very pleased with the warm fresh bread brought to the table. The antipasto was nicely prepared with more than a serving for two. We shared a dinner of eggplant Parmesan with homemade pasta. The sauce was perfectly seasoned. I have never written a review on any restaurant before this evening. I have eaten at this restaurant 5 times in the past 10 years. I have yet to have a visit that meets expectations. I had sworn off eating here about 4 years ago, but my daughter wanted to go as a last meal before going off the college. Upon our arrival, the hostess confirmed our reservation. She then went to the back of the house and was in a conversation with the other servers for 10 minutes. We were not seated until 20 minutes after we arrived despite multiple tables being cleaned and open. Our server was attentive and took our drink and app order in a timely fashion. Drinks and apps came soon after. Our server then put in our meal order. The entrees did not arrive until an hour had passed since being seated. My daughter enjoyed her meal of Bianco Verde with chicken. My son had the chicken parm; under cooked fettuccini, not enough sauce, small piece of chicken. My wife got the Gamberi Scampi with scallops. There were 7 good sized scallops on the plate that were well cooked, but the sauce was too thick with no garnish of at least some minced parsley. The plate looked like a tan mess of slop. I ordered the Shrimp Portofino. I was completely underwhelmed. There were just 5 shrimp on the plate. Last I checked shrimp were less than $10 a pound compared with scallops priced at least $16 a pound. I counted 11 leaves of spinach and there may have been 2 diced up grape tomatoes in the sauce. It lacked seasoning; I had to ask for salt and pepper delivered to the table. I give the experience a 2 because of the service by the young, unguided staff was decent. The portion sizes were average at best. The meals, in total, were meh. Don't wasted your time and money here. There are better options nearby. read more

One star is being generous. Extremely disappointed with the horribly slow service, terrible food, and no attention given to us the entire time. We never saw her once throughout the meal to even ask how it was or if we needed anything. Then we sat there 17 more minutes, after finishing our meal, waiting for our waitress! Check please! We will never return. The lasagna was processed frozen food, not made fresh! It tasted like cafeteria food. I can't believe they advertise it as homemade. There is no way it was homemade. What a joke! It had to be Costco or some other premade frozen crap. My wife got the Gamberi Portofino with Shrimp. It was okay, but nothing special. Bland and watery. Very overpriced for what was served. When we were seated, my wife warned me it probably wasn't going to be good after we were given butter tabs with a single bread roll that was sliced into quarters. She was right! 1st and last visit to this place ...still shaking my head at how bad it was. Can't believe some of the high reviews. I would leave 0 stars if I could. We had a reservation on mother's day at 6 pm... They said they couldn't seat us for 30 min ok fine things happen.... 7:15 rolls around, and we get a call that our table is ready an hour and 15 min after our reservation time. The host was OUTRAGEOUSLY RUDE! No one apologized. There was no ownership of it being their fault. Part of our party had to leave because they had kids. Very disappointed. But I was mostly disappointed that they couldn't even bother to apologize. Never going back again. Accidents happen sure. But treating customers with respect and taking ownership for their own mistakes can't be taught. read more

The sauce was excellent and the chicken was tender, but it could have used more peppers and bigger pieces at that as they just seemed to disappear into the dish.My dining partner and I shared an order of sausage and meatballs. I had a pleasant experience at this restaurant until I received the bill. The entree's were a dollar more than the menu priced advertised. When I asked the waitress, Sammy T, to clarify pricing for me, she said, "Oh, I thought I told you getting side plates with your entrees is a dollar more." This was highly disappointed given the fact that everybody in my party bought an entree dish, we were offered side plates with our dishes, and we were not disclosed the extra cost for this kitchenware. When I stated that we were not told about these extra costs, the waitress half-heartedly apologized but quickly took our check to run our card without taking off the extra charges that the restaurant was not upfront about. To be honest, I was shocked - it's not about the money but more about the principle of this situation. Less food, loss of quality, higher prices and an owner with a bad attitude. $14 for a dish of pasta with garlic and oil - not a lot of pasta and not a lot of flavor. No seasoning at all. The specialty pasta dish is "homemade" pappardelle with a few fresh ingredients, cost a bit over $20 and tasted like a beginner's practice dish and we doubt the noodles were actually fresh. I usually tend to stick around Manchester for dining options, but since my friend had a few hours off and it was closer to where she needed to be I drove down to meet her, while a bit hesitant I'm glad I made the trip. It wasn't very busy at 6 PM on a Friday but I'll accredit that to the fact it was the night before Christmas Eve and several people were out and about finishing shopping! I was sat immediately and offered some water while I waited for my friend to arrive. I had time to look over the somewhat limited drink list. I understand some places do not have draft beers, but I was surprised they didn't offer some more "craft" brews people in NH are starting to turn to. General domestic by the bottles as well as a few italian beers. I chose the house cabernet ($6.99) which I enjoyed, and my friend got the Moretti by the bottle. It came with an extremely frosty glass which she appreciated. We opted to split the bruschetta which was just okay. It was a generous portion for the $6 and there was plenty of tomatoes and cheese but I just felt it was slightly lacking somehow. Maybe more balsamic? For the price I can't complain. As for dinner I ordered the Chicken Scalloppine with penne ($16) it was chicken served with proscuitto and a mushroom marsala sauce. Definitely would order again. Had the right amount of flavor and for the price I ended up taking half home for lunch the following day! My friend ordered the Chicken Parm ($14) and I almost liked it better than my dish. You definitely couldn't go wrong ordering this. We ended up getting the chocolate fondant for dessert which was very rich. I'm not much of a chocolate person myself but I did enjoy it. The server was great and unassuming, he allowed us our space and was very helpful and quick. He accidentally had rang in an additional beer which was promptly taken off the bill once we notified him. Overall it was a very nice unassuming place I wouldn't have known existed, but now I'm content that I do. On a side note, four people came in and sat next to us and left very quickly after eating. I appreciated that the service gave us our time (as we were in it for the "long haul" apps, entrees, desserts, coffees) and they were looking for a quick meal. Shows that while we took 1.5 hours to enjoy ourselves if you're in more a rush they can accommodate you too! read more

I had this place reviewed before entering the doors! First, parking. Where the enterance is, it is not! The parking enterance is on the Walmart side of the building. Parking is extremely limited. I had the eggplant parm, not impressed especailly for the 12.99 price tag. It was very plain, no flavour at all. I can now see why so many say eggplant tastes like sole of shoe! very pricy, bad parking, and not impressed by the waitstaff either. I found the waitstaff more annoying than anything else, always interupting us... It's a bit ovious when one is in conversation or has a fork in their mouth! Now I personally consider myself to be a working man. And being a working man this results in two things. 1) A healthy appetite and 2) A regular income I choose to spend some of on the occasional dining out experience. Unfortunately after visiting this establishment I 1) lost my appetite, left unsatisfied, and 2) feel discouraged at the though of spending my hard earned money at restaurants. When I entered PastAmore with three of my coworkers, we were initially pleased with the environment... Well at least most of the lights were on when we entered. The water was complimentary, although we were informed that refills were not. Unfortunately for PastAmore these are the only things that appealed to us. The three of us ordered sandwiches, because hey, what's the worst that could happen when you order a sandwich? Turns out a lot more than you think. I ordered a cesar salad sandwich which for the price point appeared to be a good buy. As I mentioned earlier I am a working man with an appetite so I also looked forward to the complementary French fries that come along with the sandwich. Unfortunately when the meal arrived, the sandwich was soggy as if it had been dropped in the sink and the portly man brandishing cargo shorts short enough to display the poorly done tattoo of what I now assume to have been his boyfriends name, and address.( I know the address was a surprise to me as well) thought the idea of remaking the sandwich would be out of the question. With the sandwich having been an utter disgrace I turned to the French fries hoping to find salvation in that portion of the meal. Unfortunately I was in dismay when I looked to see how many fries I was actually given on my plate. To give you an idea of how many there were, you would have received more if you were on African food stamps. When I attempted to approach my waitress she was no where to be seen, I ended up approaching a young woman with a dumpy ass who informed me that most people didn't eat the fries, so me and my co workers should suffer. In conclusion this restaurant screams "37 year old guy who banked a little to much on the validity of his friends telling him he's a good cook after he invited them over for dinner one night. He seemed to have purchased this restaurant on a whim and threw together the menu with the first things that came to his mind" so next time you enter this restaurant hold your head in an oven until you can feel your taste buds melt off just in the hopes that this might improve your meal. read more

This place is awesome! We tried the Suppli which are rice balls that are fried and they have cheese in the middle and they are served with a meaty sauce. Yum!! Also I had the lasagna, very large portion which I brought the rest home. It was great! My husband had the Alfredo and loved it! My girls had the alfredo and the meat sauce on their pasta. They ate all of it! The service was great as well. So next time you feel like Italian check this place out. We brought our parents here for dinner this week. We were disappointed by 75% of the food. The service was decent, but overall it was not good. My husband and dad ordered the special steak tip dinner. The tips were sauté and tasteless. My chicken Parmesan was lacking in flavor. The breading was falling off of it and soggy. My mom got a special as well, and her meal was good. On a side note the bathrooms were dirty and had dead bugs in it. I was scared to let my daughter touch anything. We wanted to try this restaurant after reading all of the great reviews. The place is rather spartan and loud because there aren't any rugs or carpeting on the floor. It took a few minutes for the server to bring us water and menus even though the place was almost empty on a Thursday evening. The bread was somewhat stale and hard. We ordered the rice balls and they looked, and tasted, like they were frozen and just dropped into the fryer. The texture was inconsistent- in some the cheese was melted and others it was cold and hard. The GF ordered chicken and I had pasta with meatballs. The pasta was ok, but nothing special. The sauce was bland and the meatballs dense. We didn't have dessert. The quality of food here is on par with Bertucci's or Carrabba's restaurant. read more

We have been going to PastAmore for a few years now and have never had a bad meal. On entering we are always warmly welcomed. The soups are homemade. The entrees are always cooked the way we ask, and if you have a special request and they have the ingredients, they will make it for you. My favorite is the Saltimbocca, it is always cooked to perfection. They have weekly specials that are very good. When on the menu, try the Cape Cod Special or the Pork Ossobuco which is out of this world! I don't know what a previous reviewer was talking about; One is always taken to their table WITH menus and where we sit there has always been carpeting. Perhaps they may want to give it another chance? We have introduced Pastamore to our family, friends and out of town colleagues because we know we will get consistently excellent food and service. Very friendly and prompt service. Excellent menu selection. Everything we had was very tasty, but with understated spices. Dessert was delicious, but avoid the coffee. The cappuccino I had tasted like weak tea with milk. The iced tea was a bit lacking too, but [Pepsi] fountain drinks were fine. UPDATE: Any minor nits we initially had are long since past.
