I go to a lot of half price books, I look for 3 things: VHS tapes, video game stuff and occult…read morebooks. Leaving this review based on their section of those items. VHS- unfortunately one of the worst vhs spots out of all the HPB in dfw. Very small selection. the tapes are all individually priced which I normally don't like, but to be fair they are often priced pretty cheap so not a huge complaint but I do wish they would follow the example of other locations and make them all a set price unless it's something particularly rare. Video Games- good, big supply, pricing at HPB on video games is almost always wack, but I have found a few affordable gems here. Their glass display is always full. Also constantly new items. Occult- The BEST occult section in Dallas out of all HPB, they have a glass display in the 'occult' section that is nearly always full. I have cleared it out a couple times, some of my very best rare occult book finds have been here. (Prices are often too high but... that's just HPB)m The staffing here is great, always super nice, and often very knowledgeable. It's nice to shop somewhere where it seems the staff enjoys working there. A great location overall

The price they offer for mint condition books are ridiculous. There is no obligation to sell after they price though. Will recommend the store if you are looking to buy books. Avoid them for selling - rather donate them somewhere.

From the few photos and the name, I thought it would be more of a children's bookstore but I was so wrong. As soon as you enter, the amazing staff welcomes you and is eager to help you find any books you are looking for. Right at the entrance they had the fantasy and romance section which is a personal favorite, and I immediately found a couple of books that have been on my list. I absolutely LOVED that they had self published books from indie authors, which is so rare to find at any local bookstore (you usually have to wait for them to be re-published by a publisher to find them anywhere besides Amazon). They also have a children's section which is super cute, and I found a couple of things for my little one. On the top floor they have a couple of couches for you to hang out and a section of used books. Frankly, this was one of the best bookstores I found in the DFW area, and I can't wait to come back and support them!

I found a couple books I'd been meaning to grab, as well as a gift for one of my friend's birthday. The owner (or whoever was working) was super sweet and happy to give recs! Kinokuniya is a great, authentic spot for those who love all things Japanese. From manga, anime,…read moreanime goodies, anime soundtracks, art books, CDs, novels, gundams, language books, and even cute stationary. If you like to collect manga and want to see a huge variety of selections, this is the place. I really like that they also have a selection of manga in Japanese! The art book aisle is awesome. It's hard to find art books in other bookstores, and even places like Barnes and Noble won't have a selection as varied as Kinokuniya. Despite the endless aisles of manga, I've surprisingly noticed that they're missing a few decently known manga. Unless I keep missing it, I've never seen The Case Study of Vanitas in their aisle, but they have the author's other work, Pandora Hearts, in there, for example. I would also say Kinokuniya is limited with their selection of anime goodies. I like that they're all very much authentic and different from your typical anime store selling pop figures and easy to find Bandai/Banpresto stuff, but their blind box selections are also becoming easy to find in other places because it's all the mainstream shows. Overall, if you're looking to expand your collection, this is the place to go.

Big selection of books; don't you just love the feel of a real book in your hand in these days of digital content?? Pretty clean store, save a few (coffee, I'm sure) stains on the carpet near the coffee shop. Smells like new books and coffee. The Starbucks does NOT accept the Starbucks app, btw, in case that applies to you! The staff are friendly enough and were patient with us as we made our selection and negotiated the payment method between members of our party. Prices aren't cheap, but they do honor some price matching. I think it's worth it to keep physical book stores around. Imagine all those sad and lonely freshly printed books hanging out in the dark, tucked away in large boxes in a warehouse waiting to be sold... instead of being propped or stacked on a shelf with many a peruse-r to handle them until "the one" decides to take you home!
