    Turkey sub with bacon

Wonderful staff and customer service. While the food, meats, and bread is always fresh and you will always get a fresh tasty sandwich. However it does happen to be a bit bland for my taste from other deli sandwiches I have had. Do check this place out.

I wanted a while to post this review because I wanted to come back and give them a try before posting, it's been over a month and I haven't made it back yet so here goes it. I had a taste for an Italian cold cut, when I got there the gentleman behind the counter told me they just made the "Muffalettini" sandwiches so I went on and tried it. The Muffalettini has homemade olive salad, salami, capicola, pepperoni, mortadella, smoked mozzarella and sharp provolone on Vienna bread. It all sounds delicious but fell very flat to me. I've had better olive spread from a regular grocery store, the bread was extremely hard and the over all sandwich was so dry! I wouldn't get this again but I would like to visit again and try the Italian Sub.

Hard to believe I've passed Pastore's so many times. Finally stopped in on a Thursday before lunch. You get the wonderful aroma that true old world Salumerias/delis have as soon as you walk in. They have a small grocery area with cold and frozen specialities (sauce, meatballs, lasagna, cheese, etc.) Also, non perishables-canned/jarred food and of course a full deli that includes a good selection of specialty salads. We ordered 3 subs/sandwiches to try and share. The Meatball Parmesan Sub was amazing! (Melted Provolone is the way to go!). Loved the tomato sauce mixed with the melted provolone and the meatballs were on point! (Reasonably priced at under $7) The Italian cold cut Gonzo (1/2) was one of the best cold cuts we've had. (Order it as is with all the condiments). The combo of the fresh Italian Sub bread (Maranto!), meats/cheese and toppings are perfect! The Muffalettini was enjoyed also. The olive spread & smoked mozzarella take it over the top. (A little bit of NOLA on Loch-raven.) Service was fast and friendly. A family owned hidden gem! Looking forward to returning and trying their other specialty subs and take home dinners!

I used to come here a lot when I was in college because their subs are SO GOOD. It's been 5 years since Iv been here, but the taste is still as amazing as it was back then. I ordered the Italian cold cut (make sure to get everything on it!) It has Genoa salami, capicola, prosciuttini, mortadella, and provolone cheese. This place doesn't just sell subs, but they have a large variety of different things to buy. The service is quick and fast if you just walk in, but if you don't want to wait in line, you can call your order in and come pick it up. The parking can be tricky because it's right on a main street ,but there is parking in front of the building. If you can find a spot, you can park around the corner

Great food! Great Service! I love their Italian cold cut subs. I've been coming here since the early 1980's. I've never been disappointed.

Update on Grubhub order... I normally rate Jersey Mike with…read more5 stars, but this order was not to my standards. I am very picky about my food and how it is handled. I think to help combat food contamination, the prep maker needs to clean off the knife every time they cut their subs. I had the Club sub, like always, but mine had some extra stuff that I didn't ask for like their was a piece of roast beef that happen to tag along with my sub which doesn't come with my sub, as well on the cut tip of the sandwich had the taste of hots, which I do not like and surprisingly I got a mouthful. Not good.

FYI, it is easier to enter from Joppa Road even though it has a Putty Hill Avenue address - it is across from where DSW shoes used to be. They have about 3 tables to eat in. Not knowing the drill, we had to figure out that you needed to go to the back of the store to order your food. They take your order. What was impressive was that the cold meats and cheeses were cut to order. The subs come in 3 sizes - mini, regular, and giant. You order by #. All subs are made to order. We had a #17 ($18.65), which was a Mike's Famous Philly that normally comes with grilled onions, peppers & white American cheese. We asked for ours to have just the meat, provolone and mayo. I wish I had thought to say light mayo, because it had way too much on the sub. The rolls were soft, but a lot of bread. The other sub we ordered was a #13 ($17.95) which was The Original Italian, which came with provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami, and pepperoni - then they added lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. This sub was loaded with meat and cheese. The subs are not inexpensive - the minis run about $7.45, regular $10.25, and giant $17.95 (depending on what sub you order). Don't be surprised to see when you check out there is a request for a tip!

I'm a big fan of cinnamon raisin pretzels and was happy to see that theirs didn't come with extra cinnamon sugar on top. They do offer a separate cinnamon sugar pretzel for those who prefer that. The glaze on the cinnamon raisin pretzel was perfect for me. My husband tried the pecan caramel pretzel as well as an original, with a large orangeade. What I appreciated most about the cinnamon raisin pretzel was its freshness and the fact that it wasn't overly sweet. The original pretzel had just the right amount of salt, which was great. We didn't care for the pecan caramel pretzel much. The pecans were a bit too toasted and it lacked caramel. The orangeade was delicious! I'll definitely be returning because the service was great and the quality of the pretzels really stands out. The all-beef pretzel dog is next on my list!
