Amazing. Best pastrami sandwich I have had in a long time. Cole slaw was food as well. I crave this place, pastrami on rye.

My wife and I was our first time trying pastrami Xpress we took it to go when we got at home we couldn't believe how amazing it tasted. It was delicious. We had a pastrami sandwich on a club roll it was so delicious and so flavorful and tender no fat, just a wonderful experience to know that a sandwich tasted that good. I ordered a deli platter to send to friends who were mourning the passing of their mother. I spoke to Annie who was fantastic over the phone making sure she had all the correct details. My friends sent a picture of what was delivered and it was exactly what I hoped they would receive. I'm posting the picture not in the image is a second loaf of rye bread that came with the order. I use to live on the LES and Katz Deli is my benchmark when it comes to Pastrami sandwiches. Since moving to Long Island, I haven't found a deli that came close to Katz...that's is until recently, when I found this place. Their sandwich is almost identical to Katz's: meat is just the right color, cooked to perfect tenderness and is sandwiched between bread that's soft but not soggy. While at it, get a cream soda, throw on some retro disco soundtrack and you got yourself a food porn scene. Annie also makes a killer cheese cake and Abe is the best cutter our there. When ordering, just make sure you ask Abe for fatty meat and extra thick cut...THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT...otherwise you will get the regular lean cut and will not look anything like the photos. It's also a good idea to order an extra sandwich, because there's a high probability that your spouse or roommate will eat yours. Btw, repeat trips will make your butt wide. A tiny small storefront with a distinguishable sign on busy Merrick road lead us into the most delicious meal of corned beef and pastrami. The food is everything you would hope deli food would be. The pastrami and corned beef were lean but not dry. Overstuffed sandwiches on toasted rye . The meat is melt in your mouth tender and flavorful. Thick crinkle cut French fries that arrive table side hot and crispy . Cole slaw was tasty. Pickles were garlicky and crisp. The eating area is small, not fancy, but clean; the staff and owners are friendly and above all appreciative of our business. Huge parking lot in the rear of the building . We didn't realize this until after we parked on Merrick road. Make use of the parking behind the building for safety. We are glad we found this gem . read more

I have been craving a good hot pastrami sandwich for a while, I yelped it and pastrami express popped up. It was a good deli would like to go back and actually sit down in there and have lunch, I liked the look of the place. The pastrami sandwich was good, I had to spread the meat out across the bread because they just pile it up in the middle of the bread. The seedless rye bread was delicious. The pastrami was good but sliced too thin for my liking but next time I go I can ask for a thicker sliced sandwich. The corned beef sandwich was ok nothing to write home about, I just mentioned it because I also had it there. Overall I will go back, they have a very variety of sandwiches on the menu. read more

As a Black person beware coming here ! I simply just tried to throw my garbage out in the restaurant ( a small bag I had in my car ) after picking up an Uber order here . The business owner then comes around the counter as I try to leave & yells at me "Hey , Hey is this your garbage !? I'm sorry the garbage can is for customers only ". ... the people there are straight rude for no reason I've never had this happen to me at any other business . Moral of the story don't go there ! It's a tiny little place that's right on Merrick road, which is tough to find a parking spot. Not to worry if you are not familiar with the area there is a HUGE parking lot in the back. To be honest you would not think it would be this large, but you will see for yourself. The place has all the reminders of a kosher delicatessen but, they are not kosher! Everything on the menu sounds great! Also the pictures on Yelp made it even better! I have tried out the classic with a dr browns cream soda, and a small coleslaw. I have finally found a pastrami sandwich as I said melt in your mouth tender OMG! The coleslaw is on the peppery side, not sweet like Ben's, but it's good! Great Jewish style deli on the south shore. It is not kosher, but the food is what you would expect at a kosher or Jewish deli. I dined in and had a Reuben sandwich with pastrami instead of corned beef. They started we off with some complimentary cole slaw along with a half sour pickle and a sour pickle. I'd definitely recommend trying those. The Reuben was ready within a few minutes. The pastrami was sliced thin. The sandwich was delicious! It was hot with plenty of flavor. After missing good deli food for the longest time; I didn't realize this gem was located less than 2 miles from home. Small and no nonsense inside. The food was amazing. I stuck to the basics; we started with coleslaw accompanied by a mix of sour and half sour pickles followed by a corned beef sandwich on fresh rye bread; spicy mustard on the side, a homemade square knish and a Dr Browns black cherry soda. Amazing! My wife had an open faced turkey sandwich with a crispy potato latke - apple sauce on the side for dipping. My friend enjoyed round potato onion knish and a pastrami sandwich. This place reminds me of a Grandma's Kitchen. The food is good, and I would give 3.5 for food, but am rating at 4 Stars overall for sense of home and the care the Owners take for their restaurant. The matzoh ball soup is my favorite - this is one of the only 2 places I'll order matzoh balls from. The matzoh balls are always super light and fluffy. They often serve them separately so they don't get compromised from sitting in the broth too long. The chicken broth is delicious. Not too salty, always tastes fresh. My coworker got the hot corned beef sandwich- which she said was very good. The split pea is pretty good- but I prefer the matzoh balls. They make a mean hot corned beef & pastrami on rye sandwich- spicy mustard on the side. (Order the "2 meats special sandwich" and select your meats and add your condiments.) You would never know by walking into this "joint" you are going to have an incredible sandwich at a fair price. The sandwiches are overstuffed and fresh, just like a nyc deli (nowhere else on long island have i seen it this generous) and at half the price. Had the pastrami and corned beef combo on rye, perfect. Had a turkey with swiss, cole slaw and thousand island dressing on rye, was told it was incredible. Ok just back from this nice little cozy spot. My wife ordered a chicken wrap and said it was very good! I ordered hot pastrami with grilled onions on a club roll and side fries. It's was good, not the best tasting I have had but it definitely mad my taste buds happy. They also start you off with pickles and a dish of cole slaw. I don't eat cole slaw but my wife said it was very good. The waitress was very attentive as it got busy after we sat down but she handled all 4 tables.
