    Chopped Liver Appetizer

I wasn't feeling great following my booster shot, so consulted Yelp for a nearby source of hot chicken soup. I quickly found Pastrami Plus, ordered takeout online and thoroughly enjoyed everything I got. Their chicken soup was very good, came with thin noodles and soft tender matzoh balls. Five stars for flavor and curative powers! Side portion of chopped chicken liver came with a few greens and rye bread, flavorful and delicious. I needed to keep my strength up (good rationalization to overeat lol) so indulged in a hot pastrami on rye as well. The sandwich was very tasty and lean as ordered, a nice size but not as large as deli sandwiches I've had elsewhere. (This is not a criticism as the huge monstrosities sold at some NYC delis can be overkill IMHO). Their homemade spinach knish was a nice surprise, a large round ball of green veggie goodness encased in mashed potatoes with a warm flaky crust. Cole slaw was sweeter than I like but still good. Pastrami Plus is located in a small strip mall, easy to miss if one doesn't know about it. (Thank you Yelp). They do offer free local delivery and the counter guy was nice and polite. Everything was double bagged and well packed for transport. Glad I found Pastrami Plus hiding in plain sight in my nabe.

A quick visit to Pastrami Plus in East Meadow NY. Corn beef sandwich with pickle , bottle ofIBC cream soda and a 1/4 lb chop liver.27.66 total including the 3.5 % using a credit card. If you're looking for a thrifty meal- this isn't it. But the sandwich is worth it. 1/2 sour pickle good too.

When in the mood for a good pastrami sandwich, I lament the fact that I do not live anywhere near Katz's deli. However, out in Long Island, I am not without options for a decent stand in. Pastrami Plus, hidden in a strip out in East Meadow, NY, can be overlooked if you drive by too fast. Walking in, you are transported into an old school jewish deli in the city. Ambience: This looks like a small typical NYC Jewish deli you would find in the upper east side. Think hanging salamis from the ceiling, and a refrigerated display case of knishes. Food: I ordered two pounds of pastrami with generous "marbling", none of that healthy lean stuff. They will ask when are you planning to eat it ... don't worry, this will determine if they give you something hot or cold. I asked for one pound of each, because I plan on snacking on the drive home :) What can I say? This stuff is good. Service: Pleasant and efficient TL/DR: If you are in the mood for Pastrami and you live in Long Island and you can't make it into the city, Pastrami Plus has you covered.

I got a sandwich from this place about 2 years ago and remembered it was pretty good. I went back recently to see if it was holding up. Place is pretty dingy inside but it wasn't a big deal as I got my order to go. I got the regular pastrami sandwich on rye with mustard. It was $15.52 w/ tax included. Not sure if I remembered correctly, but I thought the sandwich was a little bigger last time. Also, compared to when I last got a pastrami sandwich at Lido Kosher deli, I think this sandwich was smaller. Anyways, I enjoyed the sandwich but it wasn't anything too crazy. Nothing really stood out about it, but nothing was glaringly bad about it either. It was pretty ok. I think it's pretty expensive considering how much you get as well. So with all that considered, I'd give 3 stars. Cheers.

On our way home from a day out, we decided to stop in for a few sandwiches. We call it a hidden gem. Quaint Kosher Deli, maybe 10 tables to sit for a quick bite or take out. I believe we were greeted by the owner - so nice and very welcoming. We sat at a table with menus, and he took our drink order, returning with drinks, a bowl of Cole slaw and a bowl of pickles. The Cole slaw was delicious, a little sweetness to it, not drowning in dressing. I ordered the Corned Beef on rye sandwich and my husband ordered the pastrami with Swiss cheese and a side of fries. My Corned Beef was tender and delicious, as was the rye bread. A perfect amount of meat, a decent portion for 1 person. Same with my husband's pastrami. The fries were a crinkle ends cut. Crisp on the outside, a nice potato on the inside - perfection!! They also gave us a sample of the sweet potato fries, which were equally as good, a nice sweet potato flavor. Notable mention to the pastrami knish and kasha knish that we noticed in the case and looked enticing - we will definitely try next time!! They also offer home made egg creams for those who enjoy them!

Food is a weak knockoff of a true "Jewish" Deli. In addition, the sandwiches are skimpy for the money charged.

Still decent but in my opinion not as good or clean as it once was. Don't know if the original owner sold but wouldn't be surprised.

Incredibly silly and unprofessional. Fine they don't want to seat the group at the bar because of a baby, at least offer the happy hour at the table that we were forced to sit at. No they didn't. "Oy, would it maybe kill them to put out a nice brisket?"…read more (The Big Bang Theory, "The Vegas Renormalization") Yes, they can! That, along with some great pastrami and corned beef also! I've been to the Ben's Deli in Bay Terrace, Queens and the one that was on 38th St in Manhattan (now rebranded as Mr. Broadway) and there used to be a counter in the Roosevelt Field Mall food court across the street. Whichever one you go to, you can always count on a delicious, fresh sliced deli sandwich and a hearty soup accompanied at your table by stainless steel trays of crisp dill pickles and a heaping pile of cole slaw (aka Jewish salad). Another thing they all shared is the throwback 70's pastel Formica® décor. The menu is a HUGE tabloid sized card with a tiny font to cram in as many choices as possible. Imagine a NY Times full page in color, x2. Meeting up with our godson at Ben's, he had arrived early and ordered some appetizers to share, a Mixed Starter Platter (Chicken Tenders, Mini Franks, Potato Pancakes & Mini Meatballs) and an extra plate of Mini Meatballs in Gravy. Those were tasty and I saved the gravy for later. Some of us also got the Matzoh Ball soup and the Mushroom Barley soup in big bowls. I totally forgot to ask about the rotating Soup of the Day, because I was hoping for Split Pea. Next time! If you're at Ben's, you really have to get the pastrami and around the table, everybody got it in some shape or form. My wife & son got the Deli Duos, which is 2 sandwiches (pastrami & corned beef) on mini Challah rolls. My son likes those with Russian dressing. Our godson got the Ben's Deli Dog, a grilled butterflied Hebrew National frank topped with Pastrami & Sauerkraut on a Club Roll & thick Crinkle Cut Fries. My BIL & I got straight Pastrami on Rye. I wanted to try my stuffed pastrami sandwich with different dressings, first the meatball gravy and then Russian dressing, but the Ben's course deli mustard is always the best. As for the brisket, I always love to have it as a hot open sandwich with plenty of gravy and mashed potatoes, which I will keep in mind for next time. Hot Tip: Don't be shy to ask for a refill of pickles and slaw. We always do.

Well undeniably Ben's is and will always be my favorite Jewish Deli in NY. I have been frequenting the Carle Place location for years and I have never been so disgusted with the attitude and lack of courtesy and respect by the hostess Gilah and two servers lauren and a man whose name alludes me. When a restaurant makes you feel they are doing you a favor or that you should feel privileged for them serving you, something has gone wrong! On New Year's day to make you leave a restaurant because the server demands you order because doesn't like the fact you sat in a table for 4 when you are just one means , his POV is more important than mine as a customer, and another server (Lauren) intentionally makes you wait because she wants to side with the other server instead of coming to serve me they all left me waiting ten minutes passing me by to attend people that arrived later than I. Sure their food is great and most of their servers ARE AWESOME like Jeannete and others but sadly they made my 1st day of the New Year memorable for the wrong and negative reasons. Thank you Ben's for making my New Year's day one unfortunately and sadly i have to remember with disdain and staunch dissapointment!
